‘Into the Badlands’ Season 3 Trailer Premieres at Wonder Con

The cast and Into the Badlands showrunner/writer Alfred Gough took part in a packed Q&A panel at the 2018 Wonder Con, held over the March 23-25, 2018 weekend in Anaheim, CA. The panel included the premiere of the first official trailer for the upcoming third season of the AMC action series as well as a confirmation of the new season’s cast members and plot.

Daniel Wu (Tomb Raider) reprises his role as Sunny, Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) is back as Bajie, Aramis Knight (Enders Game) returns as M.K., Emily Beecham (Daphne) is The Widow, Orla Brady (Fringe) is Lydia, and Ally Ioannides (Parenthood) is Tilda. Joining the cast as regulars for season three are Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black), Sherman Augustus (Westworld), Babou Ceesay (Guerilla) and Ella-Rae Smith (Clique). Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones) and Lewis Tan (Iron Fist) return as guest stars.

Into the Badlands season three will premiere on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT.

The Season 3 Plot: Into the Badlands is a story of survival and dominance set in a future feudal society. Within the territory known as the Badlands, a variety of clans struggle for supremacy over one another. These clans have been formed by the destruction of familial bonds and skirmishes over power. The show’s interwoven themes of martial arts, love and redemption are highlighted by what the show is best known for: its stunning cinematography and striking fight sequences.

Season three finds Sunny (Wu) living off the grid, doing his best to provide for his infant son, Henry, in the wake of Veil’s death. It is only when Henry contracts a mysterious illness that Sunny must join forces with Bajie (Frost) and journey back into the Badlands, where The Widow (Beecham) and Baron Chau (Eleanor Matsuura) are entrenched in a drawn-out war that has destabilized the entire region.

No longer supported by Tilda (Ioannides) or Waldo (Stephen Lang), The Widow must find new allies in Lydia (Brady) and in Nathaniel Moon (Augustus) — the former regent who lost his hand to Sunny and Bajie in Season 2. But when a mysterious nomadic leader called Pilgrim (Ceesay) arrives in the Badlands on a mission to restore Azra and usher in a new era of “peace,” old enemies must band together to defend the Badlands.

‘Impulse’ Teaser Trailer: YouTube’s New ‘Jumper’ Series

The teaser trailer’s finally arrived for the sci-fi thriller Impulse which will air exclusively on YouTube Red. The 10 hour-long episodes of the action drama’s first season are based on the third book in Steven Gould’s Jumper book series.

Series creator Doug Liman’s familiar with the world of Gould’s Jumper novels. Liman directed the feature film Jumper starring Hayden Christensen, Jamie Bell, Diane Lane, Rachel Bilson, and Samuel L Jackson. That 2008 sci-fi film was met with overwhelmingly negative reviews, with 139 critics awarding it a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. Jumper had an $85 million budget and grossed $222 million worldwide before exiting theaters.

Impulse stars Maddie Hasson (I Saw the Light), Daniel Maslany (Four in the Morning), Missi Pyle (Another Period), Craig Arnold (Degrassi: The Next Generation), and Callum Keith Rennie (The Man in the High Castle). The series is executive produced by Liman, Gene Klein, and Lauren LeFranc, with LeFranc as the season one showrunner.

YouTube Red will debut the series – which looks more interesting than the 2008 film – this summer.

Steven Gould’s popular book series consists of 1992’s Jumper, 2004’s Reflex, 2013’s Impulse, and 2014’s Exo.

The Plot: Impulse features a rebellious 16-year-old girl who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. When a local football player attempts to assault her, she discovers she has the extraordinary ability to teleport. This newfound power confirms her conviction that she really was different from everybody else, but it now makes her the focus of those who want to control her.

‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Episode 17 Preview: The Noose Tightens Photos and Plot

The CW’s Riverdale season two episode 16 was completely bonkers, even by Riverdale standards. We learned Hal isn’t Chic’s father after Betty confronted him over the results of his DNA test. Andy Cohen showed up to endorse Hermione for mayor. Archie chose Hiram Lodge and all his nefarious activities over his BFF for life, Jughead, and over his own father! Archie’s mom (Molly Ringwald) arrived to help Fred get out of his arrangement with Hiram and then told off her son for disrespected his dad. Oh, and Fred’s decided to run against Hermione for mayor.

Meanwhile, Veronica punched Reggie and then ran for school president…because she’s Veronica. Betty agreed to run as her VP, but then backed out once Ethel spread the truth about Veronica’s knowledge of the prison all over the school. Instead, Betty threw her support behind Jughead. Yes, Jughead decided to run for president after his stint of being chained to Southside High School ended with Archie cutting the chains, basically declaring they’re at war.

However, Cheryl won in the creepiest family competition this episode. It’s possible her mom and uncle poisoned Nana and caused her to fall down the stairs. But that’s not even the worst thing that happened to Cheryl in episode 16. No, that honor goes to being committed to Sisters of Quiet Mercy and signed up for gay conversion therapy.

Up next, season two episode 17 titled “The Noose Tightens” airing March 28, 2018. Alexis Ostrander directed the episode from a script by Britta Lundin and Brian E. Paterson.

The season two cast includes KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge, Mӓdchen Amick as Alice Cooper, Luke Perry as Fred Andrews, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge, and Skeet Ulrich as FP Jones.

The “Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens” Plot: UNWELCOMED GUESTS — Just as the town’s mayoral race gets underway, Riverdale High’s own student council election heats up. Archie (KJ Apa) steps up to help after learning that Hiram’s (Mark Consuelos) mobster associates have come to Riverdale to stir up some trouble. Meanwhile, things take a dangerous turn for Alice (Madchen Amick), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Chic (guest star Hart Denton) when an unexpected guest shows up at the Cooper residence. Finally, Toni (guest star Vanessa Morgan), Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Josie (Ashleigh Murray) team up to solve a strange mystery involving Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch).
