‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’ Will Return for Season 2

Pretty Little Liars Original Sin Season 1 Episode 10 Recap

It won’t be one and done for Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. HBO Max officially announced they’ve renewed the drama for a second season less than a month after the season one finale aired.

The 10-episode first season debuted on July 28, 2022 and starred Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Eric Johnson, Alex Aiono, and Lea Salonga. The renewal announcement didn’t confirm who will be returning or when we can expect the second season to arrive.

Executive producer/writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale) and co-executive producer/writer Lindsay Calhoon Bring created the series, based on Sara Shepard’s bestselling book series.

“We are so proud of the incredible response both critically and from fans that Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has received. Viewers have embraced our new generation of Liars, and Roberto and Lindsay’s brilliantly dark, horror-fueled take on this iconic franchise,” stated Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max. “Along with Alloy and Warner Bros. Television, we are thrilled to continue the Pretty Little Liars legacy.”

Aguirre-Sacasa’s Muckle Man Productions and Alloy Entertainment produced PLLOS, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Additional executive producers include I. Marlene King, Michael Grassi, Caroline Baron, and Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.

“We are beyond excited to continue telling stories with our amazing group of little liars — exploring their friendships, their romances, their secrets, and their status as scream queens supreme! Eternal thanks to the fans who have embraced this new, horror-version of Pretty Little Liars — which we’ll be continuing, of course — as well as our partners at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, and Alloy Entertainment. As Tabby would say, ‘There’s a sequel in the offing!’” said Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring.

The season one plot, courtesy of HBO MAX: “Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in present day, a disparate group of teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin committed by their parents two decades ago…as well as their own.

In the dark, coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand-new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.”

“This year, our slate has been curated from over 3000 film submissions from 82 countries with compelling Social Impact Films and Q&As including Refugee, Environmental Sustainability, Social Inequities, LGBTQAI+ Rights and other topics affecting our world and our communities. We have also broadened the scope of our examination of the issue of human trafficking. We, as a festival and community, have sought to shine a light on the issue of human trafficking for many years through our curation of films that highlight this heartbreaking topic. This year we continue the conversation with new films that examine stories of human trafficking,” stated Tonya Mantooth, CEO/Artistic Director of the San Diego International Film Festival.

Sean Lew plays Chris, Eva De Dominici is Nadia, Faith Bryant is Jaz, and Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle share time playing Luca. Naveen Andrews joins the cast as Robert Kamdar.

The season two plot, courtesy of Fox:

Season two of The Cleaning Lady picks up with THONY (Yung) desperately trying to find her son, LUCA, after he was kidnapped by his father, MARCO (Ivan Shaw). With nowhere else to turn, she enlists the help of FBI Agent GARRETT MILLER (Hudson) to track him down before they leave the country. Meanwhile, an incident involving CHRIS (Lew) forces FIONA (Millan) to shield her son by any means necessary, furthering the theme of how far a mother will go to protect her child.

This season introduces ROBERT KAMDAR (Andrews), NADIA’s (De Dominici) gregarious and charming ex-lover, who is intent on driving a wedge between ARMAN (Canto) and Nadia. Standing to lose everything, Arman must fight to keep his world — and his dignity — intact, while rebuilding his life under the worst of circumstances.

The Cleaning Lady continues to examine the plight of undocumented immigrants and their difficulties accessing necessary healthcare and resources. Galvanized by the many roadblocks she faced while searching for a treatment to save her son, Thony will utilize her expertise as a doctor to find ways to help her underserved community. However, as Thony continues to entwine her business undertakings with Arman, she is dragged further across the moral line and into the dark underbelly of Las Vegas.

‘The Good Nurse’ Trailer Starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne

Oscar winner Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) stars as a nurse who suspects her colleague of murdering patients in Netflix’s The Good Nurse. The dramatic film, which just released a trailer and poster, is based on Charles Graeber’s book The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder and will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Good Nurse will be released in select theaters on October 19, 2022, followed by a premiere on Netflix on October 26.

Graeber’s book delves into the twisted story of nurse Charles Cullen (played by Eddie Redmayne), a serial killer who murdered 40 patients. The drama also stars Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich, Malik Yoba, Alix West Lefler, and Kim Dickens.

Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Last Night in Soho) wrote the screenplay and Tobias Lindholm directs. Scott Franklin, Darren Aronofsky, and Michael A. Jackman produced, with Ari Handel, Glen Basner, Jonathan Filley, and Josh Stern executive producing.

The Plot: Amy, a compassionate nurse and single mother struggling with a life-threatening heart condition, is stretched to her physical and emotional limits by the hard and demanding night shifts at the ICU. But help arrives, when Charlie, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit.

While sharing long nights at the hospital, the two develop a strong and devoted friendship, and for the first time in years, Amy truly has faith in her and her young daughters’ future. But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth.

‘Tulsa King’ with Sylvester Stallone Unleashes a Season 1 Teaser Trailer

Sylvester Stallone teases that in two years he’ll take over the town in the first trailer for Paramount+’s Tulsa King. Stallone stars in the original drama from prolific writer/producer Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown), marking his first time leading the cast of a television series.

The season one cast also includes Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry), Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), and Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). A.C. Peterson (Superman & Lois), Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), and Dana Delany (Body of Proof) also star.

Taylor Sheridan created the series and executive produces with Terence Winter, Sylvester Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood. Winter is the season one showrunner and writer.

Paramount+ has set a November 13, 2022 premiere date, with the first two episodes also airing on Paramount Network on November 20th. The remaining first season episodes will air only on Paramount+

The Plot:

Tulsa King follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) just after he is released from prison after 25 years and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a crew from a group of unlikely characters, to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.

‘Accused’ Crime Series Adds Rachel Bilson and Margo Martindale

Fox’s crime anthology series Accused is filling out its season one cast with the additions of Rachel Bilson, Margo Martindale, and Molly Parker. Jack Davenport, J. Harrison Ghee, and Ian Anthony Dale have also boarded the drama set for a 2023 premiere.

In addition, Fox announced Kyle Schmid, Blaine Kern, Chris Coy, Kristen Connolly, Willam Belli, Robert I. Mesa, Natalie Benally, Julia Chan, and Takashi Yamaguchi will be featured in season one episodes.

Michael Chiklis, Billy Porter, and Marlee Matlin were previously announced to star in season one. The cast also includes Aisha Dee, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Karen LeBlanc, Wendell Pierce, Jean-Michel Le Gal, Stephanie Nogueras, Joshua Castille, Megan Boone, Lauren Ridloff, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Baron Vaughn, Sean Kleier, Rhea Pearlman, Aaron Ashmore, and Daphne Rubin-Vega.

Accused is based on BBC’s BAFTA-winning drama and was developed by three-time Emmy Award winner Howard Gordon (24, Homeland). Gordon is executive producing along with Alex Gansa and David Shore.

The series will feature “intense, topical, and exquisitely human stories of crime and punishment,” per Fox. Each episode will focus on a different crime played out by different casts and set in different cities.

Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale and Emmy Award nominee Molly Parker are set for what’s described as a gripping episode tackling conspiracy theories. Rachel Bilson and Jack Davenport will star in an episode about a family caught in a troubling situation. Reid Miller and August Maturo also star in the episode alongside Bilson and Davenport.

J. Harrison Ghee will star in an episode about a drag queen’s affair and its aftermath with Billy Porter directing. Ian Anthony Dale’s episode will involve a brother striving to protect his sibling who was injured in a devastating car accident as a child.

Fox also announced writer/director Tazbah Rose Chavez (Reservation Dogs) is confirmed to write and direct an episode about Native American activists protesting a uranium mine that’s been polluting tribal lands for decades.

Fox released the following description of the series:

Accused opens in a courtroom on the defendant, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, the show holds a mirror up to current times with evocative and emotional stories. In the end, audiences will discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in extraordinary circumstances, and how one impulsive decision can impact the course of that life – and the lives of others – forever.”
