Their fast-tracked romance creates tension between Debra and her two daughters Terra (Garner) and Veronica (Temple), leaving the girls no choice but to investigate the man who has swept their mother off her feet, while the backstory of Debra and her mother Arlane (Smart) provides insight into why Debra was so vulnerable to John in the first place.

‘Paradise Hotel’ – Casting is Underway on Fox’s Revival of the Competition Series

Paradise Hotel

Fox is reviving Paradise Hotel, the unscripted competition series that premiered back in 2003. Although the original series ran for just two seasons four years apart, it wound up becoming an international hit.

The reinvention of Paradise Hotel is currently in the casting process. According to the official casting website, potential contestants must be at least 21 years old and single.

The new season will be a “modernized” version of the original unscripted series. SallyAnn Salsano (Jersey Shore, The Bachelor), Becca Walker (Love Island, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here), and Celia Taylor (50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy, An Idiot Abroad) are on board as executive producers.

Paradise Hotel was a show ahead of its time, and this incredible team of producers plan to take it to the next level,” stated Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment and Specials, Fox Broadcasting Company. “The format allows for a delicious mix of love, drama and humor with a uniquely Fox twist. By using fresh interactive elements, it enables fans to orchestrate the show’s narrative, making it can’t-miss television for a new generation of viewers.”

“When love, power and money are the stakes, doing the right thing can sometimes take a back seat. Guessing who will do what’s right to find ‘the one,’ while others are focusing on the jackpot, makes this super exciting,” said SallyAnn Salsano. “This time around, viewers using their social media feedback to influence what happens on screen is a game-changer and will keep us all on edge.”

“To re-create, re-imagine and re-open the doors to Paradise Hotel again for a new generation is incredibly exciting,” added Celia Taylor. “It remains a format ahead of its time that works perfectly in our digital world.”

The Plot:

Paradise Hotel follows a group of singles who are given the opportunity of a lifetime – to check in to an exclusive tropical resort – and check out with big money. Immersed in a gorgeous setting, these strangers will be surrounded by sun, fun and romance – all cloaked in a wild competition. This paradise won’t last forever…it will take strategy to remain there. Each week, these singles will vote off one of their fellow residents to make room for a new guest. In a new twist, viewers can play along at home, using social media to try and influence what happens on screen, including helping to decide who stays and who goes.

‘Manifest’ Season 1 Episode 10 Recap: “Crosswinds”

Manifest Season 1 Episode 10 Recap

“My kid is at the center of everything happening to us. I’ve got to know why. It just might save his life,” says Ben (Josh Dallas) to his sister, Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), as he’s about to attend Agent Vance’s memorial in hopes of a lead in season one episode 10 of the NBC’s Manifest.

Season episode 10 titled “Crosswinds” begins with Michaela visiting her mother’s grave. She tells her mom everyone has moved on but she and Ben and the others on the plane have to start over. Michaela admits she wants her old life back.

Dr. Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) and Professor Fiona Clarke (Francesca Faridany) are with the passengers they saved from the experiments at Clarke’s beach house. The passengers are in a catatonic state. Saanvi believes they need to bring as many passengers together from Flight 828 as possible to, hopefully, unlock what’s going on.

Ben studies his timeline of everything involving Flight 828. He doesn’t see any new leads and gets frustrated. Just as he begins to throw things around, Michaela walks in and reminds him it’s her apartment – she’s the one who should be throwing things. Getting Ben to calm down right away, Michaela says they haven’t had a calling in 10 days and maybe the Red Hook lab explosion reset things. Ben doesn’t believe it and decides he’s going to Vance’s memorial to pay his respects. Michaela doesn’t like the idea but Ben tells her he needs to know why Cal’s at the center of everything going on.

Cal (Jack Messina) asks Grace (Athena Karkanis) why Ben can’t come home. She explains Ben has to work out some things on his own.

Ben’s approached by Agent Powell (Tim Moriarty) at Vance’s memorial and told to get lost. As Ben’s walking away he’s approached by a reporter/podcaster named Aaron Glover. Aaron reveals that an hour before the explosion at Red Hook a Blackhawk helicopter dropped off someone called The Major. Aaron wants Ben to tell his story on his podcast.

Michaela visits with Sannvi and the passengers and as touches one of them, she has a “calling”, a vision where she sees a blizzard and hears a voice say, “Find her.” The passenger she touched, Paul, jolts awake out of his catatonic state. Hoping Michaela can do it again, Sannvi has her try another passenger but no luck. The passenger who’s now alert is Paul Santino, but he has amnesia. Dr. Bahl tells Michaela her “calling” might be talking about Paul’s wife. They need to find her.

Ben and Michaela meet with other passengers from Flight 828 – those who showed up before the plane exploded. Clarke tells them that part of what’s happening to them is what she theorized about a shared consciousness. The pilot of 828 gets worried and leaves. Before he goes, he tells Ben not to trust Clarke and that the meeting was a big waste of time.

Ben approaches Autumn (Shirley Rumierk) and asks her about The Major. She reveals Lawrence was scared when he talked to The Major on the phone. She could tell The Major was a person of high authority. Ben asks to clarify that The Major is a woman and Autumn says yes. Ben goes to tell Michaela and Autumn gets a text on her hidden phone, but she throws it in the ocean.

Michaela’s searching for Paul’s wife at the precinct when Jared (J.R. Ramirez) walks in. Michaela’s surprised to see him, thinking he’s back to work too soon. Jared confesses he needs to talk to her, but Michaela tells him it’ll have to wait since she’s working a case. He wants her to fill him in and she tells him about the missing person.

Ben pays a visit to Grace and explains Cal asked him to come and visit. They shoot hoops and Cal asks why Ben can’t come home. Ben tells Cal he wishes he could but he has to deal with things. Ben assures his son that he and Cal’s mom love him a lot.

Afterward, Ben listens to the reporter’s podcast and hears him say the term “holy grail.” Ben asks Aaron about it and Aaron admits a source said The Major is after what’s described as the holy grail.

Michaela and Jared head to Paul’s wife’s residence and find it empty. They notice her mail’s piling up and milk’s sitting out that expired two days after Flight 828 returned. Michaela wants to ask Paul some questions and suggests Jared search the house.

Michaela experiences the calling once again.

Ben tells Michaela and Sannvi about The Major as well as the holy grail comment.

Jared texts Michaela with a lead. He’s tracked down Paul’s wife, Helen, who’s hiding at a motel. When they question her about her disappearance, she admits Paul was an abusive husband. When she heard the flight had returned, she went into hiding because she didn’t want him to find her.

Ben surprises Agent Powell and tries to loop him in on what’s really going on. Ben believes that whoever this Major is, she’s the one responsible for Vance’s death. Powell suggests to Ben that he walk away from it. Ben asks Powell what he thinks Vance would want him to do as he leaves.

Back at the precinct, Michaela tells Jared she doesn’t want to work with him anymore. She knows moved on while she was gone. She refuses to be a wrecking ball in his life and tells him she’s going to tell the Captain not to team them up anymore. Jared is, understandably, upset.

Olive (Luna Blaise) brings Danny (Daniel Sunjata) home for dinner. Grace becomes upset, not believing Danny’s presence is a good idea. She asks Danny to leave. Olive tells her mom she wants Danny to stay and a big argument ensues. Cal texts Ben who drives over and walks in on all the shouting.

Michaela heads back to the beach house and Paul asks about his wife. Michaela goes off on Paul, telling him he was an abusive husband and he doesn’t deserve a second chance. Sannvi breaks up the argument, leaving Paul confused and upset.

Ben orders Danny out of the Stone house, and Danny pushes back saying he was invited. The two men start to get into it when Grace breaks it up, admitting she’s tired of it all. She tells Ben they can’t go back to the way it was and tells Danny she’s sorry he didn’t get the family he thought he would.

Ben realizes Grace isn’t in love with him anymore and confesses he didn’t realize she had moved on. He tells Danny to stay and gives Olive, who’s now crying realizing she chose Danny over her own father, a hug. Ben then hugs Cal and assures his children he loves them. Ben leaves the house, gets in his car, and begins to cry when he gets a call. It’s Powell and he admits that Vance would have wanted him to help. Powell tells Ben the Major scheduled a Blackhawk helicopter to New York and warns him to be careful.

Jared goes to see Michaela at her apartment. He barges in and asks her to stop telling him how he feels. Jared admits that the reason he didn’t go to the hanger when he heard the flight was back was because he knew he would never go home. “Mick, you’re not a wrecking ball. You’re my soul mate. I look at you and the rest of the world goes away,” says Jared, finally confessing he never stopped loving her. Full of emotion, Michaela kisses Jared and the romance and passion are rekindled.

Afterward, Michaela receives a text from Ben about the Major.

Ben agrees to participate in Aaron’s podcast, telling him about the Major and how he’s only trying to protect his family. After the podcast, Ben tells Aaron he can’t go public with it – at least not yet. Ben says he’ll be his Deep Throat and fill him in, but if anything happens to him he can go public with the interview.

Michaela gets another calling and it dawns on her she’s actually receiving someone else’s calling.

As he’s headed home, Powell is abducted and placed into the back of a black RV.

Autumn is approached by a man in a suit while she’s getting coffee at a coffee house. He informs her the Major would like to have a word with her.

In the final scene of the episode, Cal wakes up and has a calling. He sees the same blizzard Michaela saw and hears a man’s voice saying, “Find her.” However, in his vision the man’s walking in the blizzard with a photo of Michaela.

‘Future Man’ Season 2 – Eliza Coupe Interview on Tiger and a Particularly Weird Sex Scene

The stars of Hulu’s hilarious comedy Future Man made the trek to the New York Comic Con in support of the series’ second season. Josh Hutcherson (‘Josh Futturman’), Eliza Coupe (‘Tiger’), and Derek Wilson (‘Wolf’) participated in a presentation with the show’s writers/executive producers, and also sat down for roundtable interviews to discuss season two.

The new season premieres on Friday, January 11, 2019 and finds the threesome off on their own adventures in 2162. Tiger is still coming to terms with the fact she’s a Biotic and with the fact Stu Camillo (Haley Joel Osment) created the cure. Discussing the new season while trying to steer clear of any spoilers, Eliza Coupe explained what’s happening with Tiger when fans catch up with her in season two.

Tiger had a crazy time in season one. Is she going to be even more out there in season two?

Eliza Coupe: “Buckle up and then get somebody else’s seat belt and buckle that up because I play multiple versions of myself-ish. So, yeah, it’s crazy.”

Is there a version of her you love more than the others?

Eliza Coupe: “Yes. I love Tiane. You guys have no clue. She’s really fun and it’s fun what I get to do with my voice, so it’s great.”

In season two, how does she feel about the revelation that she’s a Biotic?

Eliza Coupe: “Well, it’s a bit gutting to find out that you’re the enemy, the thing that you’ve been trying to kill forever. So, that and the fact that it jeopardizes the wonderful relationship between Wolf and Tiger. That’s a bit, I guess, devastating to her. But she overcomes it.”

What is Tiger and Wolf’s relationship like in season two?

Eliza Coupe: “Well it gets a little…they become a bit estranged. It’s tough and then as it is with the structure of TV and film, it comes back around. A real tough one to figure out.”

Did you know about the big Biotic plot twist all along?

Eliza Coupe: “I think they kind of broke it down for us. By the time we were shooting – and we were shooting two episodes at once and all of that, I think we all kind of [knew]. Actually, no, I knew that I was a Biotic from day one. Actually, I did. It was cool because it’s flattering that Biotics are perfect people, so the actor is pumped.”

Tiger often seems cold and driven, but there are moments when she shows compassion. Did she have a heart before we met her in the series, and when does that come out?

Eliza Coupe: “What’s interesting is that the first version of the script that I ever read, she was colder and much more sarcastic. It was a lot of real deadpan, not caring. That was appealing to me but at the same time I don’t like characters that don’t have a warmth and a depth to them and can be playful. There needs to be that because otherwise you can’t connect, and why would you care about them?

I watch things and I see actors and I’m like, ‘I don’t care about this character even though I’m supposed to.’ I want to know what’s underneath. I want to see the human part of them. It wasn’t there, and I think they realized that quite quickly. Then it did evolve into that and I was so happy about that. It gets even more so in season two, so that’s very fun for me. And it also makes me more proud to play that character.”

Is it hard keeping everything straight when you’re playing multiple versions of yourself?

Eliza Coupe: “I honestly wish it were, but I cannot, as a person. I sort everything out in my brain, so I knew everyone else’s stuff too. It’s a problem. It’s problematic that I’m keeping track of the continuity on the show, too. There’s so much going on. I wish, but I had it all pretty locked in my brain.”

Do you ever find a mistake in the continuity?

Eliza Coupe: “Oh yes, all the time and I pointed it out and saved them. I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but to be fair, thank god we weren’t doing time travel this year because I get so obsessive about it. Like, who was carrying the bag in what hand? I shouldn’t be doing that. (Laughing) Why do I do that? It’s just a distraction from my own problems, I think. It’s something for therapy.”

When you’re filming scenes talking to yourself, how does that work logistically?

Eliza Coupe: “I have three different stand-ins because I guess union rules are that I have a stand-in who didn’t talk, and then I had my stand-in Alisha (East) who’s amazing. She’s actually brilliant. She was so good at imitating me, so it was creepy and awesome. She would read behind the girl, so it was like I’m staring at this person who couldn’t talk because she came from a modeling agency, and then behind her was my amazing stand-in who’s like two feet smaller but wearing these big shoes to make her taller so you’re just all confused. And then it was just a whole thing. I’m like, ‘Where do I look?’ So, we’ll see how that eye line is. I’ll be looking for that.”

What was the most difficult scene for you to make it through without breaking?

Eliza Coupe: “I had to have full-to-completion sex with a brain and my hands in a room by myself and just the camera operator—and everyone else in video village, watching. To completion, by myself with my hand in something. So, my parents are going to see that.”

Do you think about that while you were filming the scene?

Eliza Coupe: “Yeah. It’s great when you’re doing that and you’re like, ‘Oh mom, dad,’ and they’re coming in. But, again, therapy—I’m paying a lot right now for that.”

What’s it like being a part of a show that puts you in situations like that?

Eliza Coupe: “It’s amazing. What’s great is nothing fazes me from all the shows that I’ve done, from even Scrubs. I can’t be fazed. I also grew up with two brothers in New Hampshire so it’s like nothing’s really going to get me. Although, things have but it’s more of a (muted), ‘Oh. Okay, that’s what’s happening.’”

What’s Tiger’s dynamic with Josh this season of Future Man?

Eliza Coupe: “I don’t really interact with Josh. Truly, it was very difficult to not see two of my best friends all season. But I had Haley (Joel Osment) so that was really great.”

Episode 11’s guest stars include Vera Cherny as Katya Kudjakova/Inna Khamatov, Ilia Volok as Sergei, Vladimir Orlov as Roman, and Mitch Wojnowski as Alexi. Adrian Miranda and Allen Miranda also guest star.

The cast of the reboot of the series is led by Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum. Perdita Weeks is Juliet Higgins, Zachary Knighton is Orville “Rick” Wright, Stephen Hill is Theodore “TC” Calvin, Tim Kang is Det. Gordon Katsumoto, and Amy Hill plays Kumu.

The “Nowhere to Hide” Plot: As Magnum helps a woman (Vera Cherny) find her missing cousin, Sergei (Ilia Volok), a Russian fugitive, Higgins’ and Kumu’s lives are put in danger when they get too close to the case.

The Season 1 Plot:

Magnum P.I. is a modern take on the classic series centering on Thomas Magnum, a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. A charming rogue, an American hero and a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan, Magnum lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business.

The “majordomo” of the property is Juliet Higgins, a beautiful and commanding disavowed MI:6 agent whose second job is to keep Magnum in line, with the help of her two Dobermans. When Magnum needs back-up on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors, Theodore “TC” Calvin, a former Marine chopper pilot who runs Island Hoppers, a helicopter tour business, and Orville “Rick” Wright, a former Marine door-gunner-turned-impresario of Oahu’s coolest nightclub and the most connected man on the island. Suspicious of Magnum’s casual attitude and presence at his crime scenes, Detective Gordon Katsumoto finds that he and Magnum are more alike than either of them care to admit.

One of Magnum’s biggest supporters is Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta, the unofficial “House Mom” and cultural curator of Robin’s Nest. With keys to a vintage Ferrari in one hand, aviator sunglasses in the other, and an Old Düsseldorf longneck chilling in the fridge, Thomas Magnum is back on the case!
