Florence Pugh stars as Cathy Ames, one of classic literature’s most evil villains in Netflix’s East of Eden. Author John Steinbeck described Cathy as having a malformed soul, and the teaser trailer for the limited series confirms Pugh is embracing Cathy’s well-deserved reputation while portraying herself as the heroine of her own story.
The series also stars Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask, Mike Faist as Charles Trask, Hoon Lee as Lee, Tracy Letts as Cyrus Trask, Ciarán Hinds as Samuel Hamilton, Martha Plimpton as Faye, Joseph Zada as Cal Trask, and Joe Anders as Aron Trask.
“This modern interpretation of Steinbeck’s masterpiece will explore the multigenerational saga of the Trask family, focusing new attention on its indelible antihero, Cathy Ames,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
Zoe Kazan adapted Steinbeck’s classic novel and serves as executive producer and co-showrunner with executive producer Jeb Stuart. Zoe’s grandfather, two-time Oscar winner Elia Kazan, directed the 1955 film version starring James Dean and Jo Van Fleet. Elia Kazan became a controversial figure due to his 1952 testimony against peers in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee.
Additional executive producers include Antoine Douaihy, Zack Hayden, Steve Golin, David Levine, and Jill Arthur. Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre direct and executive produce.
Starz’s S.W.A.T. spinoff, S.W.A.T. Exiles, just unveiled the official trailer showing Hondo assembling a new team. And, it turns out, someone on his team is actually a mole.
The new series premieres on September 25, 2026, with season one episodes arriving on Fridays.

Netflix launched the first teaser for Ink, based on the Tony Award-winning play about the creation of Britain’s tabloid newspaper, The Sun. The teaser’s tagline declares, “They broke the news that changed the world,” which very mildly describes what Rupert Murdoch did.
Jack O’Connell (Sinners) stars as Larry Lamb, Guy Pearce (The Brutalist) plays Rupert Murdoch, and Claire Foy (The Crown) stars as Jules Davies. The film, adapted by James Graham from his critically acclaimed play, had its premiere at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival and will open in theaters on December 11.
Ink streams on Netflix beginning January 8, 2027.

Sylvester Stallone returns to star in Paramount+’s Tulsa King, set to kick off its fourth season on October 16, 2026. The streamer just released the first teaser trailer, confirming Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi is still fighting for power and taking down his enemies.

R.J. Decker is a former newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colorful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida. The series follows him tackling cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife, his former cellmate turned confidant and a shadowy woman from his past.

Emmy-winning conservationist Jeff Corwin heads to North Carolina for his new wildlife series, Jeff Corwin’s Southern Wild. Corwin is teaming up with Lees-McRae College students, educators, and alumni for the new series that’s joining ABC’s Weekend Adventures lineup on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
“North Carolina is an extraordinary place to tell stories about wildlife,” said Corwin. “But what excites me most about Southern Wild is that we’re not only encountering incredible animals—we’re meeting the people who have dedicated their lives to understanding and conserving them and working alongside students who will carry that mission into the future.”
Corwin hosts and executive produces the new series, produced by Hearst Media Production Group in an exclusive partnership with Lees-McRae College.

Netflix’s The One About Matthew Perry documentary series explores the life of the Friends star who tragically passed away from an overdose of ketamine, which led to an accidental drowning. The three-part docuseries will premiere on October 27, 2026.
“Matthew Perry was one of the comedic geniuses of our time. Through his many films, TV and stage performances, and his unforgettable portrayal of Chandler Bing, he made millions of us laugh, connect, and feel a little less alone,” stated director Mary Robertson. “He also gave us so much more by bravely speaking about addiction. Yet the public only knew part of his story. That’s why we set out to make this series: to let the people who knew and loved Matthew reveal the person behind the public figure.”
The docuseries will feature interviews with Matthew Perry’s friends as well as his sister, Mia Perry Bowick. It will also include photos and videos from the family’s archive.
Netflix’s synopsis reads, “Told through intimate testimonies from close family and friends, this documentary event reveals the real Matthew Perry—generous, funny, vulnerable, larger than life—and the battles he fought to become the man behind the icon. A raw record of a life lived in full, and the honesty that became his greatest legacy.”
Executive producers include Robertson, Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman. The docuseries was produced by Maxine Productions, a part of Sony Pictures Television.
Commenting on the docuseries, Mia Perry Bowick stated, “It’s taken time for me to feel ready to share these memories and what it was like to love Matthew through all the complexity of his life—to see him as a whole person, not just as Chandler, and not just as someone who struggled with addiction.
