You Season 4 Penn Badgley

Filming is currently underway on Netflix’s You season four with Penn Badgley returning as the charming (and disturbed) serial killer, Joe Goldberg. The new season will find Joe once again on the move after killing Love, a character who was his match in unexpected ways. The photo from the set shows Joe’s settling down – at least for a while – in London.

Badgley will be joined in season four by previously announced co-stars Tati Gabrielle, Charlotte Ritchie, and Lukas Gage. And today Netflix released details on a new batch of characters and the actors who’ll be playing them, including new series regulars Ed Speleers, Tilly Keeper, and Amy Leigh Hickman.

You Season 4 New Cast and Characters

Tilly Keeper (Lady Phoebe)
As sweet and kind as she is rich, famous, and chaotic, Phoebe’s every bikini wax has been documented by the tabloids since she was 15 years old. An aristocratic socialite with an avid fan base, Phoebe’s true colors show when she’s alone with her friends. She’s a steadfast cheerleader, especially to American entrepreneur boyfriend Adam. She’s also a wild card: when misfortune strikes, will she rise to the occasion, or shatter?

Amy Leigh Hickman (Nadia)
A literature major with a love of genre storytelling and the aspiration to be a serious author, Nadia’s outspokenness and intensity are a perfect cover for the insecurities carried by a young woman who’s never been accepted by her peer group. She’s made some big mistakes; now, they threaten to destroy her life. She’ll need help, even if it’s from the wrong people.

Ed Speleers (Rhys)
Dry, irreverent Rhys is an author whose memoir garnered him acclaim and pressure to launch a political career. Born into poverty, Rhys lived a traumatic early life before he came into money, going to Oxford and making all the right friends. Now, he moves easily in any social circle, while also seeing through those around him. He doesn’t have much time for partying, though he enjoys staying in touch with his eccentric circle of friends. After all, they were there for him in his troubled youth.

Recurring Season 4 Characters:

Niccy Lin (Sophie)
Sophie is an entrepreneur in the body of a pampered jetsetter. Sure, it looks like she’s lying around in a bikini on social media, but every aspect of her feed represents cannily-negotiated high-end sponsorship deals. Underneath her whimsical exterior, Sophie is a watchful protector of her introverted artist brother, Simon.

Aidan Cheng (Simon)
Simon is impossible to impress and abhors small talk and strangers. The Oxford-educated son of a Chinese technology magnate, Simon proved the world wrong when, despite his wealth and sheltered life, he proved himself an artist worthy of acclaim.

Stephen Hagan (Malcolm)
Born to privilege, Malcolm is a literature professor who enjoys all the social perks of the job without working very hard. A drug-loving bon vivant, Malcolm’s friendliness can tip over into bullying if you resist. He’s dating brilliant, successful Kate, which speaks to his own intelligence and maturity. But he’s also seeing a few others on the side, which cancels out those bonus points.

Ben Wiggins (Roald)
Roald hails from an old aristocratic family whose names are on many an important building around Europe. He is attractive, stylish and possessed of perfect manners, but there’s a certain cold calculation to Roald, not to mention rumors of a hidden dark side.

Eve Austin (Gemma)
A member of a privileged circle of friends who met at Oxford, Gemma has never given a day’s thought to life beyond the next VIP event, fashion show, or date. She’s a fun friend to party with, but her insular and privileged life has rendered her shockingly tone-deaf and startlingly lacking in empathy towards those with less.

Ozioma Whenu (Blessing)
A Nigerian princess with several post-graduate degrees, Blessing is an investor with a passion for cryptocurrency. Wry, fun-loving, unapologetically cliquish with her university friends, her carefree risk-taking in life and business has paid off time and again. What’s her secret? She believes we’re all living in a simulation, so only fools would stop themselves from doing whatever they want.

Dario Coates (Connie)
Connie attended Oxford with Kate and Phoebe’s friend group. He is upper-crust, posh, a sportsman gone soft. Loud, potty mouthed, loves betting, horses, drinking and cocaine. It’s safe to assume that Connie’s never had to face a negative consequence in his life.

Sean Pertwee (Vic)
Adam’s personal driver/dealer/security, proud and impeccably dressed Vic is loyal and keeps many of Adam and his friends’ secrets. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty to protect them — the job always comes first. Outsiders are treated with polite but utter suspicion.

Brad Alexander (Edward)
University student Edward’s dad owns a powerful news outlet. Edward is popular and used to being the smartest student in the room. He has a fierce rivalry with fellow student Nadia.

Alison Pargeter (Dawn)
Dawn is not someone you’d notice in a crowd, and that helps with her work as a paparazzi photographer. But if you’re someone determined to avoid being captured on camera, well, Dawn could pose a problem.

Adam James (Elliot)
World-weary, calm, grounded, allergic to drama, Elliot has lived in California for decades, but his job requires him to travel throughout Europe. Elliot’s employer is powerful, and Elliot always delivers, no matter how challenging the task.

‘Barry’ Season 3: Bill Hader and the Cast Discuss What’s In Store

Barry Season 3

The Covid-19 pandemic struck as season three of HBO’s award-winning comedy Barry was two weeks away from beginning production in March 2020. The unexpected and unavoidable delay means that by the time the new season finally arrives it will have been nearly three years since the season two finale aired.

“I think also literally right before the pandemic hit we had done our first table read, and then just a couple days later we were supposed to have a second table read, and we got the email of like, ‘All right, guys, we might need to be locked down for two weeks,’ and everyone flipped out. But, honestly, just knowing that we were going to be able to come back was a huge thing. It was a huge thing that kind of kept me going, the idea of just knowing that like that we had these wonderful, wonderful scripts to kind of work on at some point was actually something that really helped carry me through,” explained Anthony Carrigan (“NoHo Hank”) during the 2022 Television Critics Association’s virtual winter press tour.

“You go through these periods of like, ‘What’s it going to be like? Am I still going to be able to act when I get back to it?’ And you put on the costumes and you get back in there, and you just get right back into it, so that was really a big thing for keeping me sane and keeping me focused was just looking forward to the season,” offered Carrigan.

Co-creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner Alec Berg remembers telling everyone it would be a few weeks before they could return to production. Writer, executive producer, co-creator, and series star Bill Hader recalled that Berg told everyone the target date was May 7th, which hindsight tells us was wishful thinking.

“In that time when the scope of how awful the pandemic was, we decided to write season four, and then while we were doing that, we went back and did a pretty extensive rewrite of season three. As far as how much time has expanded, you’re going to have to see the show,” said Bill Hader.

The critically acclaimed series follows Hader as a hitman who wants to leave that world behind to become an actor. According to HBO, season three will find Barry and the other characters attempting to make the right choices…whatever that means.

Hader believes there’s still a lot to explore regarding Barry’s acceptance of his violent past.
“His one kind of boneheaded way of trying to get in touch with himself ends up really hurting a lot of people. And I think this season…I don’t think he knew the extent that he’s hurt people, and I think that’s what he’s kind of learning,” said Hader.

Barry Season 3
Sarah Goldberg as Sally Reed in ‘Barry’ season 3 (Photograph by Merrick Morton/HBO)

Sarah Goldberg (“Sally Reed”) shared that she thinks all of the characters are constantly grappling with how they can become better versions of themselves.

“There’s all these fork-in-the-road moments and they all tend to make poor choices,” explained Goldberg. “So morality is sort of the undercurrent of the whole show which is what makes it so fun to play and the sort of moral duality in each of the characters.”

Every terrible thing Barry did throughout the first two seasons he did because he was determined to pursue a career as an actor, according to Alec Berg.

“[…] I just really enjoy thinking about the fact that every single thing that happens in the show is a consequence of Barry wanting a slightly better – well, not slightly, a very much better – life. But you could argue that every bit of that better life that he’s trying to achieve has led to all of this chaos. I mean, he obviously didn’t know it would be that bad, but he was warned,” said Berg.

Barry Season 3
Bill Hader and Henry Winkler in ‘Barry’ season 3 (Photograph by Merrick Morton/HBO)

The TCA panel participants kept the conversation spoiler-free so neither Bill Hader nor Henry Winkler addressed how the dynamic between Barry and Gene might change given the events of season two. However, Winkler’s joy in being a part of Barry was evident when he discussed the show’s publicity campaign suggesting people call Gene Cousineau for acting lessons.

“I thought it might have been the best campaign I’ve ever been part of, and I did the voice for the phone number so if you called the phone number you literally heard me talk to you,” said Winkler. “I was so thrilled to be part of that campaign.”

Asked if his approach to helping other actors is similar to Gene’s, Winkler replied, “Gene thinks and tries to be the best teacher he can be. And I have had the experience of five times of holding master classes, and it is one of my favorite things. I’m not sure I know what I’m talking about but whatever I’m feeling about what the actors in front of me are doing, it is my pleasure to try and get them to taste something different than they came into the room with, just by pushing them a little bit. So it goes back and forth. I take Gene with me, and I bring Henry to Gene.”

‘The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch’ Trailer Delves Into the Brand’s Sordid History

Going shopping for clothes at the mall used to be an incredibly popular past-time and there was a time when Abercrombie & Fitch stores drew in crowds of pretty people. The trailer for Netflix’s White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch shows exactly who the company designated as their key demographic as well as who they discouraged from patronizing (and working in) their stores.

Streaming on Netflix on April 19, 2022, director Alison Klayman’s documentary examines the exclusionary hiring practices that resulted in the company being the target of lawsuits. Klayman produces along with Emmet McDermott and Hayley Pappas, and Matt Ippolito, Adam Bardach, John Sloss, Tim Pastore, production designer Smiley Stevens, and director of photography Julia Liu executive produce.

Netflix released the following description of the Abercrombie & Fitch documentary:

“In the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, Abercrombie & Fitch was the first stop for many shoppers on their trip to the mall. Shirtless jocks stood guard at store entrances, selling a potent mix of sex and wholesomeness. Pulsing dance beats and the brand’s fierce scent drew in hordes of young people hoping to buy themselves a seat at the cool kids’ table. Led by outspoken CEO Mike Jeffries, A&F cashed in on an ‘all-American’ image and enshrined its clothes as must-haves for the new millennium. But over time, revelations of exclusionary marketing and discriminatory hiring practices began to engulf the white-hot brand in scandal.

Featuring interviews with dozens of former employees, executives, and models, White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch unravels the complex history of the iconic brand that influenced an entire generation.”
