‘City of Lies’ Trailer: Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker Hunt for Biggie’s Killer

Global Road Entertainment dropped the new trailer for the dramatic film City of Lies on what would have been The Notorious B.I.G.’s 46th birthday. The drama is based on a true story and stars three-time Oscar nominee Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd, Finding Neverland, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) as LAPD Detective Russell Poole who doggedly pursued the truth behind the murder of The Notorious B.I.G. Poole’s investigation was also at the center of USA Network’s riveting limited series, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G., starring Jimmi Simpson and Josh Duhamel.

City of Lies also stars Oscar winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland). The film is based on the book by Randall Sullivan and the screenplay was written by actor Christian Contreras. Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner) directed and Miriam Segal produced the crime drama.

Global Road Entertainment’s set a September 7, 2018 theatrical release date.

The Plot: Based on the true story of one of the most notorious and unsolved cases in recent time, City of Lies is a provocative thriller revealing a never-before-seen look at the infamous murder of The Notorious B.I.G. shortly following the death of Tupac. L.A.P.D. detective Russell Poole (Johnny Depp) has spent years trying to solve his biggest case, but after two decades, the investigation remains open. “Jack” Jackson (Forest Whitaker), a reporter desperate to save his reputation and career, is determined to find out why.

In search of the truth, the two team up and unravel a growing web of institutional corruption and lies. Relentless in their hunt, these two determined men threaten to uncover the conspiracy and crack the foundation of the L.A.P.D. and an entire city.

‘All American’ TV Show Preview: Plot Details, Cast Info, and Season 1 Photos

The CW’s unveiled a compelling new trailer for the fall drama, All American, starring Daniel Ezra and Taye Diggs. The new series will premiere on October 10, 2018 and will air this fall on Wednesdays at 9pm ET/PT, immediately after Riverdale season three. The four-minute extended trailer introduces the audience to Spencer, a star athlete recruited to attend a more prestigious high school in a better part of town.

All American stars Daniel Ezra as Spencer James and Taye Diggs as Coach Billy Baker. The cast also includes Samantha Logan, Bre-Z, Greta Onieogou, Monet Mazur, Michael Evans Behling, Cody Christian, and Karimah Westbrook.

The one-hour drama was inspired by NFL player’s Spencer Paysinger’s life. The Warner Bros Television and CBS Television Studios production is executive produced by April Blair (Reign), Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Riverdale), Sarah Schechter (The Flash, Riverdale), and Rob Hardy (Power).

The All American Plot: Spencer James is a rising high school football player and A student at South Crenshaw High. Compton is the place he calls home. But when Beverly High School’s football coach Billy Baker recruits him to join his team in Beverly Hills, Spencer’s mother, Grace, and his best friend, Coop, convince Spencer it’s an opportunity he has to seize. Now Spencer must navigate two worlds, the south side neighborhood that he knows and the affluent Beverly Hills world that has offered him an opportunity for something bigger.

When Spencer is forced to move in with Billy and his family to protect his transfer permit to Beverly, Billy’s son, Jordan (the team’s starting quarterback), is less than thrilled to be sharing his father’s attention — or the team spotlight — with Spencer. While Spencer struggles to find his footing, he makes an unlikely friend in Jordan’s sister, Olivia, who is dealing with her own demons. He also quickly develops a crush on his classmate, Layla, something her boyfriend, Asher, quickly realizes — and so, he sets out to drive Spencer off the football team and out of Beverly Hills for good.

‘Westworld’ Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: “Akane No Mai”

Westworld Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

The process of rounding up and disabling all the hosts continues, and the security teams believe they’ve gotten the upper hand as HBO’s Westworld season two episode five begins. Although they’re progressing through the park taking care of business, they’ve yet to locate Peter Abernathy.

Inside headquarters, Karl (Gustaf Skarsgard) learns the hosts have been wiped. It’s as though their systems never held anything to begin with. Plus, he’s told one-third of the company’s IP has been lost.

Teddy’s body is on top of a large pile of hosts inside the facility, and Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) watches as more bodies are added to the piles. Karl explains that once they figure out how all the threads came together to create this nightmare, then they’ll know the complete story.

Flashback to inside the park and Maeve’s group is attacked by Samurai warriors who get the drop on them in the snow. Maeve (Thandie Newton) believes she can talk her way out of this situation and commands them to drop their swords. Her order doesn’t work and she’s gagged to keep her under control. Her group’s tied up and forced to walk through the forest.

Lee (Simon Quarterman) explains they’re in Shogun’s World now and it’s hardcore. Musashi (Hiroyuki Sanada) is in charge of this group that’s taken them and has his men lead them into his village.

It turns out once they hit town, Armistice (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal) and Hector (Rodrigo Santoro) figure out their story is being played out in this village, but with different players. Lee admits he recycled the story because it’s tough coming up with hundreds of fresh storylines.

Armistice helps her counterpart in this world and in turn her counterpart frees them. Maeve’s learned from Lee that she can speak any language and when she spoke to the Samurai earlier, they didn’t obey because she was speaking English. Now, understanding what she must do, Maeve tells these strangers she knows how their story plays out.

Maeve’s counterpart is Akane (Rinko Kikuchi) and they immediately connect.

Elsewhere, Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), Teddy (James Marsden), and their men ride through Sweetwater which is littered with dead bodies. The train’s at the station and Dolores orders it checked out and stripped for speed.

There are still a few hosts left inside the saloon when Dolores takes a break for a drink. She explains to Teddy their mission remains hunting for her father.

Maeve’s group is given food and drink, and a geisha dances while everyone relaxes. Maeve’s impatient to leave but Lee explains they need to hear these people out or it will be considered a dishonor. Lee wants to leave too, but there are rules.

A man arrives and says the Shogun has asked for Sakura (Kiki Sukezane) to dance for his men. And, he wants to take possession of Sakura permanently. Lee whispers this storyline is “Army of Blood” as Akane refuses to sell Sakura to the Shogun. When the warrior refuses to take no for an answer, Akane stabs him in the eye. Lee exclaims, “That’s not supposed to happen!”

Akane tells Musashi he’s now hired to take them somewhere safe. Lee suggests Snow Lake; it was where Sakura was born. Lee whispers to Maeve that he suggested Snow Lake because it has an access point and they can escape.

That night, ninjas attack and Maeve’s able to command one to turn his knife on his friend. Musashi and Hector take out others while Maeve fights for her life. As she’s being strangled, she’s able to tell her attacker to kill himself without uttering a word.

After the fight’s over, Sakura is missing.

Lee’s confused by all of this because ninjas never attack in this story. They hear chanting from outside and it’s the Shogun’s army, which Lee explains never comes into town.

Tanaka (Masayoshi Haneda) demands Akane give herself up. She refuses, and Maeve has an idea if Musashi can buy them time. He agrees and steps outside to confront his old lieutenant, Tanaka, who’s apparently now a captain.

Musashi challenges Tanaka, and Tanaka reacts by capturing Hector, Armistice, and the others. (Maeve escapes while this is going on.)

Back outside of Sweetwater, Dolores wants to see her old ranch one final time. Teddy wonders if maybe this doesn’t have to be their fight and that maybe they can just stay somewhere safe, somewhere all their own. She calls him a kind man and says she’ll think about it.

Once more to Shogun’s World we go and Lee believes that if the Shogun is aware enough to change the storyline, then they’re in deep trouble. He wants to leave Akane behind and head to Snow Lake and the access point. Maeve reminds him she’s supposedly coded to not care for others, but she’s willing to die to help Sakura. However, she agrees to let Lee go ahead on his own if he wants. She also admits she doesn’t know how she made the ninja kill himself. “I think I’m finding a new voice,” says Maeve.

Lee, Maeve, and others from Maeve’s group pass through a killing field littered with the security team. Lee takes a quick restroom break and secretly grabs a walkie-talkie from one of the dead bodies.

Westworld Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

As they approach Shogun’s camp where Sakura’s been taken, they see hundreds of Samurai warriors. Maeve leads her group into the camp and they’re introduced as the envoy from the Chinese empire. They bow before the Shogun and present him with a golden statue. Maeve explains it’s a humble gift and the Shogun tosses it to the ground. He tells them about his conquests, including killing 2,000 men at the Siege of Osaka. As he speaks, cortical fluid leaks from his ear and he glitches.

Lee realizes the Shogun’s not awake and instead is broken.

The Shogun laughs and welcomes them to his camp. He reveals his ninjas encountered a witch and in order to keep control, he’s had the ears cut off his leaders so they can’t follow her commands. He goes on to explain Sakura will dance this evening.

When the Shogun touches Sakura, Akane can’t contain herself. The Shogun’s shocked to see Akane in his camp tempting the dragon. She says she’ll pay any price for Sakura and he recalls watching her dance when she was younger. He says that if she dances for him tonight, she can have Sakura. Akane agrees.

Back at the train, Dolores and Teddy watch their men finish the job. Angela (Talulah Riley) arrives with one of the security team members who took Peter. He confesses they took Peter to the mesa. Dolores declares they’ll leave at first light.

Dolores and Teddy head into the saloon to spend the night. Dolores wonders if Teddy really wants her to say yes to staying here, and Teddy answers by reminding her he’s known her her whole life. “Where we go, we go eyes open…together,” says Teddy. They share a long, passionate kiss that leads to sex.

Akane finds Sakura in a tent before they dance. The Shogun has carved a cherry blossom tree in Sakura’s back and Akane tries to reassure her it will be okay. She tells Sakura that in this new world you can be whatever or whoever you want. She promises her this will be true soon.

Maeve reveals to Akane that she has a daughter. She says her daughter is in the new world and she’ll take Akane and Sakura there. She then explains that everything Akane knows is a lie. Akane’s confused and doesn’t want to accept what Maeve’s saying. “You’re right. Some things are too precious to lose, even to be free,” replies Maeve in English.

Teddy wakes to find Dolores standing over the bed. She takes him outside and wants to show him something, explaining she’s been questioning her feelings for him. She didn’t know how much was real and how much was just a story. Tonight, she discovered it was all true. “They built us to perform for them and for each other,” says Teddy. “That’s over. I saw you tonight, Dolores, and you saw me.”

Dolores grabs a lantern and says she has seen him clearly. They step further into a store and she confesses she doesn’t believe he’s going to make it. She has her men surround Teddy and commands them to hold him. She claims she wishes there was another way, but he’s not made for the place they’re going.

Dolores gives Phil (Patrick Cage) the order for Teddy’s program to be altered even though extreme changes might rip him apart. “To grow, we all need to suffer,” explains Dolores.

That night, the Shogun reveals he knows Maeve is the witch. He orders her to kneel near him as Akane and Sakura are brought to the stage to dance. Before they begin, the Shogun approaches Sakura and says she’s perfect. He then stabs her through the stomach, declaring Akane can have her. With Sakura dying at her feet, Akane is told to dance.

Akane performs as the music plays. She advances during her dance toward the Shogun, at one point even kneeling at his feet. She caresses his cheek and then uses one of her hairpins to stab him repeatedly through the face until he’s dead.

Tanaka declares Akane and Maeve assassins and orders them decapitated. Maeve uses her new power to command the Samurai to turn against each other, once again without saying a word. The battle’s bloody as the Samurai take out their fellow warriors. More warriors approach but Maeve isn’t worried. “I told you I found a new voice. Now we use it,” she explains.

‘Trust’ Season 1 Episode 9 Recap: “White Car in a Snowstorm”

Trust Season 1 Episode 9 Recap
Hilary Swank as Gail Getty in ‘Trust’ season 1 episode 9 (Photo by Oliver Upton / FX)

The eighth episode of FX’s Trust ended with Paul (Harris Dickinson) convincing Leonardo’s son to cut off his ear. Paul believed this was the only way to prove to his parents that his kidnappers meant business. He realized the kidnappers were ready to kill him, and this desperate spur-of-the-moment act might buy him at least a few more days.

Season one episode nine, the season’s penultimate episode, begins with Gail (Hilary Swank) and Chace (Brendan Fraser) sitting in a car in the snow waiting for a pay phone to ring. Chace is sure the call will come, but Gail isn’t.

Paul’s ear is packaged and placed in the mail. The kidnappers are worried about Paul’s health because the wound won’t stop bleeding and his heartbeat is faint. A veterinarian is the best they can do as they won’t allow Paul to be examined by a real doctor.

syndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js”>

Primo (Luca Marinelli) is concerned Dante (Mauro Lamanna) didn’t mail the ear because it’s been three weeks and they haven’t heard from the Gettys. It turns out there’s a postal strike in Naples and the ear probably hasn’t been delivered.

Understanding time is of the essence, Primo and Dante head to the Naples post office dressed as officers. They break in and search through the mail, finally managing to locate the package. Primo drops it off at the Italian newspaper, Il Messaggero, where the receptionist reacts in shock after opening the package.

Chace arrives at Gail’s home with the news and then accompanies her to see photos of the ear. She believes she recognizes Paul’s freckles. After requesting to keep the photos, Gail delivers them to J. Paul Getty Sr (Donald Sutherland). While she waits outside his office, J. Paul explains to Robina (Charlotte Riley) and Penelope (Anna Chancellor) that removing a finger would have been better since it would have been easier to link to Paul. An ear is not as identifiable. Penelope thinks that maybe it’s a message signifying they’re trying to get someone to listen.

J. Paul finally meets with Gail and she confirms she’s certain it’s Paul’s ear. She begs him to not let the kidnappers send Paul back in pieces. J. Paul reminds her he went to Italy and negotiated a deal, but Paul Jr refused to accept it. He believes Paul Jr. holds the key to resolving this situation.

Next, Gail takes the photos to her ex-husband who doesn’t think it’s actually an ear. Gail, exasperated, explains this photo was matched to a close-up of Paul’s face. Gail asks Paul Jr to please accept his father’s deal, and he continues to refuse the terms. He doesn’t want a loan of his own money and he doesn’t want to pay J. Paul interest which would mean he’s profiting off the kidnapping of his own grandson.

Gail asks how many more body parts Paul Jr wants to find in the mail. Paul Jr is adamant that he’s not going to be in debt to his dad; that’s what killed George. Gail leaves without receiving any help from J. Paul or Paul Jr.

Gail heads to the U. S. Embassy where the Ambassador reminds her Nixon’s having problems with Watergate and is busy. The Ambassador finally agrees to fax her letter requesting help to President Nixon, likely because of the Getty name. Gail goes through multiple drafts before finally settling on the right wording.

At the White House, President Nixon reads the fax and then calls J. Paul Getty Sr. They discuss the Native Americans holding up Getty’s drilling in Wyoming, and Nixon believes they can fix that. But first, Nixon wants to discuss Paul III.

In the cave, the kidnappers check on Paul and he’s in horrible shape. He doesn’t wake up when they try to rouse him.

J. Paul Getty Sr summons Paul Jr to his home and apologizes. J. Paul will pay half the ransom personally if Paul Jr agrees to take a loan from his trust for the other half. Plus, J. Paul is now willing to make the loan interest-free.

Paul Jr laughs to himself and then finally agrees to the deal. Penelope already has the paperwork drawn up and Paul Jr signs without reading it. J Paul instructs Paul Jr to let Gail know.

After Paul Jr leaves, J Paul admits he’ll make more money from the Wyoming oil drilling deal than what he loaned his son. And, J Paul is irritated Paul Jr didn’t attempt to negotiate.

That young Paul will be taken care of, Penelope reveals she’s leaving J. Paul. She gives him a peck and wishes him luck.

After learning the ransom will be paid, Gail heads to the theater where she normally meets with Fifty. She delivers the message to the theater clerk that the funds will be there in two days. She also demands he pass on the message to the “mutilating bastard” to leave her son alone.

Back in the cave, everyone’s worried Paul’s condition continues to worsen. They finally bring in a doctor who discovers Paul’s allergic to penicillin which is what the veterinarian’s been giving him. The doctor thinks Paul has a 50-50 chance of surviving.

Fifty (Niccolo Senni) meets with Primo in a club to go over the details of the exchange. Primo lays out an elaborate plan in which the money will be delivered in white suitcases. Gail must also be dressed in white and she must drive a white car. The bills can’t be marked or have invisible ink. The exchange must take place in the snow.

A quick shot shows that before the bills are placed in suitcases, each serial number is photographed.

Leonardo (Francesco Colella) walks Paul to the edge of the cave and apologizes for his son. Paul didn’t realize Francesco was Leonardo’s son and explains he begged Francesco to cut his ear off. He says it was the only way to make his family pay attention, and he doesn’t want Leonardo to blame Francesco. Overcome with emotion, Leonardo gives Paul a hug.

Gail and Chace drive down a road surrounded by snow. They’re not supposed to stop until stones hit the car. However, they’re on empty when they arrive in a town and are forced to stop for gas. The station’s closed and they head into a bar to find someone who’ll fill up their tank. Gail offers lots of cash to anyone who will help.

Primo waits, growing increasingly impatient, by the side of the road. Night falls and his car’s covered with snow.

Trust Season 1 Episode 9 Recap

Gail and Chace get back on the road and finally their car is hit with rocks. Gail immediately stops, and Chace exits the car. He asks for Paul, but the boy isn’t there. Chace disarms one of the two men who are demanding the money. Gail gets out of the car and enters the discussion. She recognizes Fifty’s voice and yells at him when he wants the money without handing over her son. That was not their deal, but Fifty claims the terms have been changed.

Gail wants to know how she can be certain they won’t cut off another body part, if she gives them the money now. Fifty takes off his ski mask and exposes his face. He tells her his real name and explains that if they don’t get Paul to her alive, she can turn him into the police.

Gail reluctantly agrees to hand over the money. Fifty instructs her to continue on the road and stop at the pay phone past the church. They’ll call the phone and tell her where to pick up Paul.

Back in the cave, Don Salvatore’s worried they won’t find Gail’s car in this snowstorm. Leonardo assures him they will. Salvatore also believes Primo’s going to take the ransom money and run. Just then Primo arrives with the suitcases full of cash. He dumps the cash on the ground, celebrating, and then gives Salvatore a hug.

Paul looks on and Leonardo says, “What did I tell you? They always pay in the end.”

Primo and Dante talk about the handoff and Primo wants to know how Fifty convinced Gail to hand over the money without turning over Paul. Dante reveals Fifty showed his face and told Gail his name.

Gail and Chace wait for the phone to ring and discuss their families. Chace continues to be positive the phone will ring, reminding Gail she’s the only one who’s had faith in Paul this entire time.

Back at the cave, the money’s counted and Leonardo wants to free the kid so everyone can go home. However, Salvatore explains that since Paul’s seen his face, Paul must die. Fifty reminds everyone they had a deal.

Paul figures out there’s a problem and that his life is in danger, even though the ransom’s been paid. He picks up a lantern and begins making shadow puppets on the wall. Primo understands the story Paul’s acting out. Primo says, “You don’t kill the goose that lays the golden egg.”

Salvatore doesn’t like being spoken to this way, but Primo reminds him if they kill Paul, they will never be able to kidnap anyone else for ransom. This could be the beginning of a lucrative new enterprise.

In the car back at the phone booth, Gail’s fallen asleep but fortunately Chace is wide awake. Finally, the phone rings and arrangements are made for delivering Paul.

As they drive to the designated spot, Primo reminds Paul if he talks they’ll find him and kill him. They pull over and Leonardo tells Paul to get out of the car. Paul won’t budge until Leonardo says his mom is waiting for him at a nearby gas station.

It’s freezing cold with the wind whipping his blanket as Paul, now alone, stumbles to the gas station. He holds onto a Getty Oil sign and then calls out for help. The attendant lowers the gate, closing the station and not allowing Paul inside the building. Paul bangs on the gate and begs to be let in and then stumbles toward the street.

Gail drives to the station, faster than she should on snowy roads. She screams for Paul once she gets to the station, but he doesn’t respond. She gets back in the car and heads down the road. Up ahead, she sees a figure slowly walking in the middle of the street.

After driving closer, she stops the car, yells out to Paul, and then runs to him. They hug and then she and Chace help him to the car.

The episode ends with photos of the real J. Paul Getty III after the kidnapping.

Box Office Report: ‘Deadpool 2’ Topples ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Deadpool 2 wasn’t able to dethrone the all-time R-rated opening weekend champ, but it was able to finally boot Avengers: Infinity War from the top spot on the weekend’s top 10 list. Deadpool 2 finished below the original 2016 Deadpool, posting a three-day domestic opening weekend of $125 million, just a smidge under the first Deadpool which rang up $132 million during its first weekend in theatrical release.

The comic book-inspired superhero sequel did manage to snag the record for the largest opening day for an R-rated movie. Friday’s box office take was a record-setting $53.3 million, and it appeared for a while that those numbers would help Deadpool 2 overtake Deadpool for the all-time largest domestic opening for an R-rated film. However, Saturday’s box office fell off enough to keep the original Deadpool at the top of the R-rated openings chart.

This coming weekend Deadpool 2 starring Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin will be taking on the Han Solo origin film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. The new Star Wars movie will open in more than 4,200 theaters on May 25, 2018.

Box Office Top 10: May 18-20, 2018

  2. Avengers: Infinity War – $28,672,000
  3. Book Club – $12,500,000
  4. Life of the Party – $7,725,000
  5. Breaking In – $6,470,000

  8. A Quiet Place – $4,040,000
  9. Rampage – $1,500,000

The Deadpool 2 Plot: After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Chris Henchy (I’m With Her) is on board as an executive producer. Netflix hasn’t confirmed a director or an anticipated premiere date.

Notaro earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2016 in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special category for Tig Notaro: Boyish Girl Interrupted. In 2017 Notaro was nominated for a Writers Guild of America award for the pilot of One Mississippi.

‘Charmed’ Series Preview: Photos, Cast Info, Plot Details, and Premiere Date

The CW’s delving back into the world of sibling witches with a new version of Charmed. The reimagined version will be joining the network’s primetime lineup this fall beginning on October 14, 2018 and will air on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT after Supergirl.

The original series premiered in 1998 and ran for eight seasons. Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Brian Krause starred in the popular supernatural drama created by Constance M. Burge (Judging Amy, The Starter Wife). The cast of The CW’s new Charmed is led by Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, and Madeleine Mantock. Rupert Evans, Ser’Darius Blaine, Charlie Gillespie, and Ellen Tamaki are also featured in the show’s first season.

Jessica O’Toole (Jane The Virgin), Amy Rardin (Jane The Virgin), Jennie Snyder Urman (Jane The Virgin), Ben Silverman (The Office), Brad Silberling (Jane The Virgin), and Carter Covington (Faking It) serve as executive producers.

The Charmed Plot: “Stronger together.” That’s what Marisol tells her daughters, firebrand social justice warrior Melanie “Mel” Vera, and her sister, fun-loving Maggie, about their family. Mel is a graduate student in the women’s studies department her mother heads at Hilltowne University; Maggie is a freshman considering rushing a sorority (to Mel’s amused dismay) and going “on” again with her on-again off-again boyfriend Brian. But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Or was it?

Three months later, we find Mel unable to accept the official explanation of their mother’s death while Maggie accuses her of being morbidly obsessed. And then, another huge shock shows up at their front door: they have an older sister, brilliant geneticist Macy, whom their mother kept a secret all these years! Macy is new in town and doesn’t know a soul (except for Galvin, the cute fellow scientist who’s been showing her around). Macy is eager to connect with Mel and Maggie, but Mel can’t handle another shock and shuts her out.

With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others’ thoughts, and Macy has telekinetic powers. But don’t worry, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation…or so says Harry Greenwood (who as far as they know is the officious new chair of the women’s studies department), when he gathers the three sisters together to reveal they’re actually powerful witches, as was their mother. And he’s not really a professor, he’s their “Whitelighter,” a witch’s advisor and guide! Not only that, but Mel was right: their mother’s death was no accident – she was murdered by unknown dark forces.

It’s a lot to take in, but ultimately the sisters accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones…and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among us…one of whom killed their mother. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together… even if they have no idea what they’re really up against.
