NBC’s officially set a March 11, 2018 premiere date for the second season of the critically acclaimed series, Timeless. The second season will debut immediately following the three-hour airing of American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. the World which begins at 7pm ET/PT that evening.
Timeless season two stars Abigail Spencer (Rectify, Suits), Matt Lanter (90210, Star-Crossed), Malcolm Barrett (The Hurt Locker, Dear White People), Goran Višnjic (ER, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Paterson Joseph (In the Name of the Father, Aeon Flux), Sakina Jaffrey (House of Cards, Mr. Robot), and Claudia Doumit (Scandal, New Girl). The time-traveling series was created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke who serve as writers and executive producers. Tom Smuts (Bosch, Mad Men) and Arika Lisanne Mittman (Elementary, Dexter) are the season two co-showrunners and also executive produce.
The first season of Timeless averaged 8 million viewers and was tied for 1st place among other network programs in the same time slot with adult viewers age 18-49.
The Timeless Plot: Season two of this thrilling action-adventure series will pick up right where we left off with our heroes. We continue to race throughout history with our beloved team: Rufus (Malcolm Barrett), a scientist; Wyatt (Matt Lanter), a soldier; and Lucy (Abigail Spencer), a history professor, in an attempt to prevent the destruction of our world as we all know it. This season they’ll find an unlikely ally in their quest to ruin Rittenhouse, a deadly organization with plans to change history and reshape reality – even though Lucy’s family has been a part of Rittenhouse for centuries.
Still making every effort not to affect the past themselves, they will visit 1692, 1917, 1941, 1981 and more. We’ll be introduced to the likes of Marie Curie, Hedy Lamarr, William Randolph Hearst and a multitude of other influential people throughout history.
Cinemax is bringing back Strike Back for a fifth season beginning on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT. The new 10 episode season will feature a new cast led by Warren Brown (Luther, The Dark Knight Rises), Daniel MacPherson (The Shannara Chronicles), Roxanne McKee (Crossfire, Game of Thrones), and Alin Sumarwata (Burning Man).
In support of the series’ return, Cinemax has released details on the first four episodes airing in February. A season plot description and cast/character details have also been confirmed by the network.
The Season 5 Plot: When fanatical terrorist Omair Idrisi escapes from Syrian authorities with plans to launch an unprecedented attack that could change the face of modern warfare, the ensuing manhunt can only be entrusted to counterterrorism’s best and brightest. Enter Section 20 — the elite, multinational, covert special ops team tasked with tracking down Idrisi and his British co-conspirator wife, Jane Lowry.
Their action-packed manhunt will take the unit across North Africa, the Middle East and Europe, from glitterati soirees to underworld cage fights, as they uncover and attempt to dismantle a vast global web of interconnected criminal and terrorist activity.
The Season 5 Characters:
Lance Corporal Gracie Novin (Alin Sumarwata) is a crack shot and ready-for-anything gearhead who is looking to make the step up. Genuine and honest to the point of bluntness, she’s the heart and soul of the team.
Sergeant Samuel Wyatt (Daniel MacPherson) is a barroom philosopher who works best alone. Having been burned in the past, Wyatt has no intention of being dragged into a team situation. But what he wants and what he gets are rarely the same thing.
Captain Natalie Reynolds (Roxanne McKee) comes from a military family, and excels at psychological profiling and identifying weaknesses in others, although she may be blind to her own faults.
Sergeant Thomas “Mac” McAllister (Warren Brown) is a man of his word, physically capable and driven by a desire to avenge the team he’s lost. He’s easygoing, affable and utterly deadly.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Allison Janney from I, Tonya, and Gary Oldman from Darkest Hour seem to have solidified their spots as the ones to beat at the 2018 Oscars with their Screen Actors Guild wins. On the television side, actors from Veep and This Is Us took multiple awards at the 24th Annual SAG Awards.
The SAG Awards honoring the best performances of 2017 in television and film were held on Sunday, January 21st. Kristen Bell made her debut as the awards show’s first-ever host, and she kept the show moving along while also making a few pointed comments on current events. Overall, however, SAG Awards winners and presenters steered away from anything overly political during the two-hour broadcast.
One of the show’s most moving speeches came from first-time winner Nicole Kidman who took home the Female Actor in a Television Movie or Series award for her performance in HBO’s Big Little Lies. Kidman, who admitted she was feeling ill, was noticeably emotional as she began her acceptance speech.
“I’m crying. [This] means a lot to me. I’ve been working since I was 14 years old. Thank you SAG-AFTRA for giving me this. I’m incredibly nervous because this is reality colliding with fantasy right now,” said Kidman. She added, “To receive this at this stage in my life is extraordinary and at this time in the industry when these things are going on, and for this role.”
Kidman praised her co-stars and then also thanked a bevy of female actors who she looks up to and whose work she admires. “I wanted to say Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, I revere you. I’ve watched you and I’ve learned from you. And there’s others. Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, Judy Davis, Isabelle Huppert, Judy Dench…the list is so long, and I would love to say so many more names, but I can’t right now. But I want to thank you all for your trailblazing performances you’ve given over your career, and how wonderful it is that our careers today can go beyond 40 years old. Because 20 years ago, we were pretty washed-up by this stage in our lives. So that’s not the case now. We’ve proven, and these actresses and so many more are proving that we are potent and powerful and viable. I just beg that the industry stays behind us, because our stories are finally being told. It’s only the beginning.”
