BBC America’s released the final trailer leading up to the season five premiere of Orphan Black. The new trailer proclaims, “From the start they fought for their freedom, for their family. Now they fight as one to the end.” Emmy Award-winner Tatiana Maslany returns to take on multiple roles, along with Jordan Gavaris as Felix, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Mrs. S, Kristian Bruun as Donnie, Kevin Hanchard as Detective Art Bell, Evelyne Brochu as Dr. Delphine Cormier, Josh Vokey as Scott, and Ari Millen as Ira. Season five guest stars include James Frain as Ferdinand, Lauren Hammersley as Adele and Jenessa Grant as Mud.

The upcoming fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed sci-fi drama will premiere on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT.

The Plot: From the moment Sarah Manning (Maslany) locked eyes with an unknown identical woman, who jumped to her death – her life has never been the same. She’s found out she’s a clone, that there are multiple clones out there, and multiple factions that sought to hunt, control, betray or kill them. Now, the final showdown with Rachel (Maslany), the one clone at the center of it all who’s sought to destroy her and her sestras from day one begins. And as the walls close in on her, Sarah must decide her next move very carefully, for this time, it’s life or death for everyone she loves.

When we last saw Sarah, she’d been badly beaten in an epic physical battle against Rachel, that left her bruised and broken. Her foster mum, Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy), and daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler) were taken hostage and her sestra Cosima (Maslany) went missing. Now, Cosima and Alison (Maslany), and their allies have been brought to heel. Even more harrowing is that Kira has joined them in surrender. Rachel, sitting at the head of the Neolution table, has carte blanche access to their clone biology, and with Helena (Maslany) pregnant with twins, her biology is the most coveted of all. Sarah in a desperate attempt to regain control, realizes she must change tactics to pursue a long game. She, and those still able to fight, will uncover the missing pieces of the insidious conspiracy – and finally free themselves from the tyranny that has taken over their lives. Despite the great risk, the fight of her life will either set her and her sestras free, or see them meet their end.

The clones have been through it all together. From assassinations, detrimental illnesses, monitors and accidental murders to suburban drug fronts, kidnappings, male clones and biological warfare – there isn’t anything this lot hasn’t experienced. But through it all, they’ve remained united in their love and mission to keep each other safe at all costs. They’ve sacrificed their families, the loves of their lives, and any true sense of normalcy – all for the chance to liberate themselves from forces much bigger than any one of them. Now, they must all fight for the family they’ve chosen, for a new future and ultimately, for freedom.

‘Lucifer’ Season 2 Episode 17 Recap: Sympathy for the Goddess

Fox’s Lucifer season two edges closer to the finale with episode 17 airing May 22, 2017. The very revealing episode begins with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) spying on his mom (Tricia Helfer) while nursing a drink. He’s checking out the scenery on the beach when Amenadiel (DB Woodside) shows up to warn him he’s in danger. It turns out Maze is really pissed and Amenadiel thinks it’s serious. Lucifer blows him off, more concerned that his mom might have found a client with a piece of the Flaming Sword. The brothers watch as their mom whips out a briefcase full of cash, incredulous that Charlotte would do something so dumb. When she hands over the money, Lucifer and Amenadiel decide it’s time to step in.

Charlotte is super proud of herself until Lucifer explains she’s been conned. She insists the guy will be back with the missing piece of the Flaming Sword, but agrees to check on him with her sons. They find the man sprawled on the floor, dead, with his safe open behind him and the piece missing (along with all their cash). The one bright spot in this whole thing is that Lucifer and Chloe can investigate the murder and that might lead him to the missing item.

Meanwhile, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) barges into Dr. Linda’s office. When she sees a strange man by Dr. Linda’s desk, Maze whips out her knives, ready to spring into action. After getting Maze to back off so the man can leave, Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris) explains she’s in trouble with the Ethics Review Board because she helped Lucifer break out of a mental institution. Maze is completely fed up and swears she’ll fix this whole thing, blaming it all on Lucifer.

Over at the police station, Lucifer’s more antsy than usual, repeatedly raising and lowering himself in his chair and bothering Chloe (Lauren German). He wonders if he should have his own desk and thankfully before Chloe can send him away, Charlotte arrives with news one of her clients is in trouble. The ruse doesn’t work and Chloe refuses to go check in on this client, so Charlotte tries to elaborate but she sucks at figuring out what Lucifer is miming behind Chloe’s back. Finally, she adds that she heard a gunshot so maybe the guy was dying.

Chloe, Lucifer, and Charlotte arrive at the crime scene and Chloe guesses the man’s been dead for about an hour. Lucifer almost gives away the fact he knew about the murder (he’s no better at this game than his mother) and while Chloe’s examining the body, Charlotte refuses to leave. She’s happy to be able to work with her son, but Lucifer definitely doesn’t share those feelings.

Ella (Aimee Garcia) arrives to help with the investigation, and Chloe wonders why Charlotte’s sticking around. Lucifer tries to shoo her away, but Chloe, unexpectedly, allows her to remain at the scene. Chloe wants more info on Charlotte’s business relationship with the dead man, Zeke (Clayton Cannon), and Chloe says it’s because he works for Tequila magnate Bianca Ruiz. Chloe reveals Bianca’s really a gun runner and Tequila’s just a front.

Ella determines Zeke was shot twice and Chloe thinks it was a robbery gone wrong. However, Ella confirms there were no signs of forced entry to the safe. She spots a cell phone under the safe and pulls it out, believing it might be the killer’s. Depending on who you ask, the home screen is either two eyes (Ella), two breasts (Charlotte), or a freckled rump (Lucifer).

Back at the station, Charlotte shows up as Dan (Kevin Alejandro) is going through Bianca Ruiz’s file. Charlotte places one of her gorgeous legs on Dan’s chair and he’s pretty much had enough. He can’t figure out what she wants and Charlotte says she’ll tell him in private. Dan instantly knows what’s on Charlotte’s mind and turns down her offer of sex. She then admits she likes him, which leaves him even more confused.

Ella has figured out the symbol on the phone, discovering it’s part of the Insane Wordz Records logo. The label only works with one artist, Chet Ruiz, Bianca’s youngest son. It’s weird that he would have killed one of Bianca’s men, but Charlotte says Chet isn’t really part of the family business. Chloe thinks Chet might be their in for taking down Bianca’s entire operation.

The phone doesn’t prove Chet committed the murder, so Dan’s going to work on hacking the password. Chloe kicks Charlotte out of the evidence room since now her client is one of the main suspects and Charlotte, protesting this dismissal, reveals Bianca’s having a party today and she’s invited. Charlotte demands that she gets to go and she wants Dan as a partner. Both Dan and Lucifer immediately vote against that and Chloe steps in to say she’ll go.

Lucifer barges into Dr. Linda’s office without knocking and starts immediately talking about how mad he is at his mother. But, it’s not Dr. Linda sitting behind the desk. Maze is there…with her knives out. An extremely angry Maze tells Lucifer it’s his fault Dr. Linda is suspended and he has to fix it. Maze demands he do it right now, and he gives in. (Smart man.)

Amenadiel shows up at the station and asks Dan if he’s seen Charlotte or Lucifer. Dan says they took off a few hours ago and Amenadiel has his feelings hurt since he’s out of the loop. Since Lucifer’s gone, Dan recruits Amenadiel for some task.

Charlotte arrives at the party and asks if her +1 who’s probably wearing something “freshly plucked from the floor” has checked in. Charlotte then spots Chloe who looks absolutely stunning. Even Charlotte approves of her chosen attire.

Chloe spots Chet and informs Charlotte she’s going to talk to him. Charlotte believes the only way to get a man to talk is by seducing him, and she gives the go-ahead to Chloe. Chloe nixes the seducing part and explains she’ll get him to incriminate himself and then turn on his mother. Charlotte wonders why Bianca would bring her murderous son to a Tequila party, and Chloe thinks it’s because the mom doesn’t know Chet killed Zeke.

Meanwhile, Maze and Lucifer meet with the chairman of the Ethics Review Board and ask for Dr. Linda to be reinstated. The chairman denies their request, and Maze offers proof of Dr. Linda’s accomplishments by listing off all of Lucifer’s faults. Maze says Dr. Linda helped Lucifer no matter what and Lucifer seconds that, saying she’s been indispensable. The Ethics Board chairman isn’t swayed and Lucifer, given his lack of a filter, says Dr. Linda’s generous as a lover and a friend, letting the cat out of the bag that they slept together. This meeting doesn’t go well at all, and they leave without getting Dr. Linda’s suspension overturned.

Charlotte exchanges pleasantries with Bianca and then lets her in on the fact the police suspect Chet killed Zeke. Bianca immediately confronts Chet about Zeke, and he confesses he took care of the problem. Chet didn’t realize his mother knew about Zeke’s side business of smuggling rare artifacts and that she was in on it. When she asks how the police know it was him, he admits he dropped his phone at the scene.

Chloe’s hovering just a few feet away while this confession’s going down. After Bianca finishes with her son, she confronts Chloe.

Dan and Amenadiel seem to be bonding over drinks at a bar, with Dan showing off an improv flyer. Dan admits improv really helped him and he suggests Amenadiel needs something like it to take his mind off his issues with Lucifer. Amenadiel confesses no matter what he does, Lucifer’s always the favorite. Dan wonders if Lucifer and Amenadiel are competing over Charlotte, which weirds Amenadiel out. (Nope, definitely not trying to get into that particular lady’s pants.)

Dan receives a text that they couldn’t crack the phone’s passcode and before he leaves, he tells Amenadiel he likes him much more than Lucifer.

Bianca confronts Chloe, asking who she is and what she’s doing at the party. Quick on her feet, Chloe starts fangirling over Chet’s music which Bianca puts down. Chloe proves she’s into it by singing (which is hilarious) and thankfully Bianca forces her to stop. Security guards escort Chloe away as Charlotte looks on, smiling approvingly.

Maze and Lucifer leave the Ethics Review Board office and Maze punches Lucifer in the stomach. Maze has had enough and reveals she knows Lucifer is planning on leaving Earth. He laughs and when he tries to blame Amenadiel for spilling the beans, Maze kicks him, hard. She keeps smacking him while Lucifer tries to explain what’s really happening. “You don’t care about anyone other than yourself unless they can be of use to you,” says Maze, delivering a devastating verbal blow.

Lucifer warns her to be careful and then they really get into it physically, launching themselves at each other. Minutes into the fight they’re both super bloody and wobbly, and all the marble benches around them are destroyed. Lucifer admits he didn’t know she was this angry and Maze replies, “You were going to leave me.” Lucifer confesses he would never do that and then finally is able to explain his real plan. He’s going to Heaven with Charlotte and Amenadiel but only for a short time, and Maze finally realizes what’s going on. They share a short laugh and Maze sees the whole picture and that she had to be angry with him so he could pull off this ruse. He thinks everything’s all right, but Maze believes the true story is even worse than what she assumed was happening.

Over at the station, Ella and Dan start trying to crack Chet’s password on their own.

Maze and Lucifer, looking like they’ve gone 12 rounds in the ring, visit Dr. Linda and she incorrectly assumes they killed the chairman of the Ethics Review Board. Maze reveals Lucifer said they used to have sex and Dr. Linda figures her career’s pretty much over. When Lucifer asks why Maze is still mad at him, Dr. Linda cuts to the chase and says it’s because he used her. Lucifer admits he did, but it was for the greater good. Lucifer, as always, only views his actions by how they affect him. As Dr. Linda explains Maze felt abandoned, the close-up of Maze shows she is utterly devastated by Lucifer’s actions. (Bravo, Lesley-Ann Brandt. You brought tears to my eyes!)

Lucifer finally realizes what he’s done and he apologizes, admitting he should have realized how she’d feel. The informal session ends with everyone depressed and Dr. Linda packing her office. Maze promises to take care of this and Dr. Linda doesn’t respond.

Bianca shows up at Charlotte’s office and admits Chet killed Zeke. However, Bianca knows what Zeke was smuggling and that it was for Charlotte. Bianca now has the item and wants to make a deal. Charlotte can have the item if she gets Chet’s phone from the police. If Charlotte can’t, then Bianca will get rid of the item.

Ella is working on the phone’s password when Charlotte arrives and formally introduces herself. Ella goes in for a hug and Charlotte holds her off, and then Charlotte asks if she can have the phone to try passwords. Ella thinks Charlotte’s really hanging out at the station waiting for Dan, and then she surprises Charlotte by saying when she looks in her eyes she sees a light. Charlotte wonders if her Band-Aid came undone and checks her wrist, obviously not picking up on the true meaning of Ella’s words. Their talk’s interrupted when Ella gets a call from her brother and she asks Charlotte to watch Chet’s phone.

As Charlotte’s about to walk out of the room with it, Chloe tells her to start talking.

Chloe heads over to Lucifer’s where he’s at the piano by himself. She asks about his bruised face and then Chloe reveals Charlotte told her the truth about how she’s related to Lucifer. A surprised Lucifer replies, “I somehow doubt that,” and Chloe says she knows Charlotte’s his father’s ex-wife. Chloe seems sympathetic toward Charlotte and all she went through – betrayal, torture, etc. – with Lucifer’s dad and Lucifer finally says the episode’s title, “Sympathy for the Goddess.” She wonders why Lucifer didn’t reveal this in the first place and then says it happened when Charlotte explained why she was trying to steal Chet’s phone. Charlotte was just trying to keep her family safe and Lucifer says, “That sounds plausible.” However, Chloe still doesn’t trust Charlotte. (Smart woman, that Chloe.)

Charlotte delivers the phone to Bianca while Chloe and Lucifer listen in from a surveillance vehicle. Once Bianca gets the signal nothing’s happened to the phone, Charlotte spills a drink on the hidden mic so Chloe and Lucifer can’t hear what comes next. Charlotte receives a safe deposit box key and Bianca promises it holds the item she ordered. The police break in as Charlotte takes the key. Chloe places Bianca under arrest and Charlotte informs Biance she’s now her ex-client.

Chloe stops Lucifer from approaching Charlotte, saying she has to search her first. Charlotte assures Lucifer it’s okay and after a brief search, Chloe’s satisfied she’s not hiding anything. (Charlotte handed Lucifer the key when they briefly held hands.) The police have the phone once more and now they have the evidence to put Chet and Bianca away.

Back at Lucifer’s, Charlotte’s dismayed to learn the safety deposit box only contained a book. Amenadiel thinks it might be an instruction manual, but it’s written in an ancient language Charlotte can’t read. Charlotte gives it to Lucifer to read, but he can speak every language – not read. Amenadiel saves the day when he declares it’s written in Sumerian. He can translate it in just a few days, and suddenly Charlotte says she can’t wait that long. Amenadiel and Lucifer are concerned about her need to do this so quickly, but she says she just wants to see her family. When she walks away, Lucifer and Amenadiel agree something’s up with their mom.

Maze makes good on her promise to take care of the chairman of the Ethics Review Board.

Dan takes a seat at Chloe’s desk and of course the topic of Charlotte comes up. Chloe can’t believe Charlotte’s Lucifer and Amenadiel’s stepmom, which is something Dan definitely didn’t know either. “That makes a weird amount of sense, actually,” says Dan before taking off.

Night falls and Chet secretly meets with Charlotte at her office. She demands he hand over what Zeke really smuggled. He pulls out a knife and stabs Charlotte in the stomach, yelling at her that his life is ruined. Charlotte pulls the knife out and a bright light shines out of the opening. The light hits Chet in the face and instantly fries him. He falls to the ground, dead, with his skull exposed. Charlotte gasps in pain.

Amenadiel is translating the book and has discovered their father shattered the Flaming Sword into three pieces: the Blade of Death, the Medallion of Life, and the key that binds them all together. It also says God entrusted the key to his favorite son. Amenadiel’s upset that it’s always Lucifer and then asks what else Lucifer brought to earth. He thinks it might be Lucifer’s ring and tells his brother to attach the ring to the sword. Amenadiel picks up the blade and Lucifer notices Amenadiel’s necklace has lifted up and is attracted to the blade like a magnet. Well, well, well, so maybe Lucifer isn’t God’s favorite son after all…

Lucifer jokes, “Is that the key around your neck or are you just happy to see me? They entrusted it to you, brother.”

‘Gotham’ Season 3 Episode 19 Recap: All Will Be Judged

Fox’s Gotham season three episode 19 finds two villains teaming up, another one losing a body part, the death of a key supporting player, and the possible emergence of a new villain. Episode 19 titled ‘All Will Be Judged’ begins with Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) held prisoner in cages mere inches apart. Nygma can’t believe Oswald survived being shot so he slaps him in the face, mistakenly believing he’s not really there. Ed then demands to be called The Riddler, but of course Oswald doesn’t obey. He’s back from the dead to kill Ed and he doesn’t view their temporary imprisonment as much of an obstacle in obtaining his revenge.

There’s another back-from-the-dead encounter going on over at Wayne Manor. Selina (Camren Bicondova) attacks Fake Bruce (David Mazouz) with a knife and as he’s fighting her off, he says he’s glad she didn’t die in the fall. He only pushed her to keep her from telling Alfred. Fake Bruce grabs a fireplace poker and takes a swing, but Selina’s too fast. She stabs him in the side before taking a blow to the face herself. They continue to fight and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) finally comes in to break it up. Selina screams, “He’s not Bruce!” as Alfred restrains her, and then Fake Bruce delivers the knock-out blow.

Alfred commands Fake Bruce to put the fireplace poker down and then sees blood on his shirt where Selina stabbed him. Alfred realizes this Bruce doesn’t feel pain and demands to know where the real Bruce is. Fake Bruce gives him a cryptic answer and then he and Alfred go at it. Fake Bruce gets the upper hand and uses the poker to knock out Alfred.

Mario wakes Lee (Morena Baccarin) and she tells him about her horrible dream. She describes the virus and how it brings out a person’s dark side, and he asks what it brought out in him. She replies that it brought out his jealousy toward Jim and then recalls Jim shot Mario on their wedding night. Mario hands her a wine glass and tells her to take her medicine. He drains his blood into the glass and commands her to drink. It’s then that she really wakes up and, disturbed, knocks her glass of red wine off the table.

Over at the GCPD, Jim (Ben McKenzie) has discovered safe houses that are probably housing the virus. He’s even found one tenement building that’s actually 2,000 square feet larger than the blueprints. Harvey (Donal Logue) points out the virus bomb could be in any one of dozens of secret rooms throughout the city and suggests Jim just wait until Kathryn calls him to find out more information. However, Jim wants to search now without alerting the Court of Owls.

Jim and Harvey check out the secret room in the tenement building by the port and find a crystal owl. When they shine a light on it, a map of Gotham is projected onto the wall. Unfortunately, their investigation ends abruptly when Captain Barnes (now completely transformed into The Executioner) arrives and knocks them out.

Alfred and Selina come to and Fake Bruce has disappeared. Even though at this particular time they’re on the same side, Alfred and Selina still can’t get along. She reminds him she warned him not to poke the tiger (the Court of Owls) and Alfred gets angry when Selina admits she believes Bruce is dead. Selina refuses to help Alfred find Bruce and Alfred is furious, telling her Bruce has always been her friend. He compares her to her mother and tells her to never come back to Wayne Manor.

A witness reports Barnes (Michael Chiklis) drove off in a meat truck, and Harvey tells the officers they have to find him because he’s taken Jim.

Oswald sharpens a piece of metal into a blade, continuing to call The Riddler Edward after being warned to never use that name. Edward tells Oswald he’s there because he wanted to know who runs Gotham while Oswald’s there because he was looking for revenge over unrequited love. Oswald denies that’s the reason and instead he’s there because Ed destroyed his criminal empire. After they argue some more and Oswald warns he’ll tell the guards if Ed tries to escape, Ed shoots Oswald with a dart. Ed picks the lock on his cage and has barely stepped out when Oswald starts slamming his food tray to get attention. It works and Ed’s put back in his cage.

Meanwhile, the real Bruce has almost completed his training and has one final step to take before he’s free. The Temple Shaman wants to remove the pain from the night Bruce’s mom and dad were killed. Bruce has a vision in which he’s holding his mother’s pearls and is told by the Shaman to lock them away. “Become strong. Become the protector Gotham needs,” says the Shaman. Bruce’s hand shakes as he approaches the safe, but he’s unable to let go of the pearls. The Shaman says it’s now time for Bruce to learn the truth.

It’s time to check in on Jim and we find him in a desperate situation. The Executioner has brought Jim to see Kathryn and he’s incapable of escape as he’s chained to a chair. Kathryn knows he’s been lying about his commitment to the Court of Owls and knows that Jim’s been working against the Court. She keeps demanding to know who he’s spoken to and Jim tells her to go to hell. Kathryn calls Jim an enemy of Gotham and turns him over to Captain Barnes. Barnes brings his one-man court to order, ready to put Jim on trial.

Lee pays a visit to Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) at Arkham and he asks if she’s plagued by nightmares. She admits she blamed Jim and not him for infecting Mario, and wonders why he selected Mario as his victim. Tetch admits he did it because Lee looked at Jim with love and so he infected Mario. She fell right into his trap by blaming Jim for what happened to Mario. Tetch tells her she’s actually the one to blame.

Oswald finally wakes up from being drugged by Ed and Ed’s pissed the guards took away his lockpick. Neither men know why they’re being kept locked up, but Ed has heard the Court is planning to attack the city. Oswald finally comes to the conclusion they both have to escape and that means they must work together. They lay down a set of rules that includes no murder on the premises. Plus, Ed wants a six-hour window after the escape in which they can’t murder each other. They shake on it, deal struck.

The Temple Shaman reveals “his truth” to Bruce, showing him one of his own memories from the time of the murder. The Shaman was a leader of the Court of Owls and he didn’t approve of the killing of the Waynes. He respected the Waynes and believed they were important to Gotham. He then explains the Court of Owls was a way to maintain order in Gotham, but now their days are over. They need to pay for their crimes, including the murder of Bruce’s parents.

Trial over, The Executioner delivers a death by beheading verdict. Before he can deliver the blow, Jim tells him the Court is about to infect the innocent and the guilty with the virus. Barnes doesn’t believe the virus is a curse and he asks Jim if he has a last request. Jim wants his badge so he can die wearing it and Barnes agrees. As Barnes pins it on Jim’s chest, Jim removes the pin from a grenade on Barnes’ belt. Barnes is able to throw it out the window but he’s distracted when Harvey and his men bust in the room. They shoot at him as he flees, and the officers give chase.

Back at the station, Harvey’s upset no one’s been able to track down Barnes. But the good news is, the strike force is bringing in Kathryn. Alfred arrives just then to reveal Bruce has been abducted. “Why can’t anything be easy?!” asks a frustrated Harvey. When Alfred starts to explain a shady organization took Bruce, Jim cuts him off by acknowledging it’s the Court of Owls. Harvey and Jim fill Alfred in on the Court of Owls and Alfred confesses they had a run-in earlier in the year. Alfred also tells them he’s not even sure how long Bruce has been missing.

Jim wants to know what Alfred and Bruce did to make the Court notice them, and Alfred admits they found a crystal owl which he broke. Jim and Harvey also found an owl, and Jim asks if Alfred’s owl can be reassembled. They think the map leads to secret hiding places, but the owl Jim and Harvey found was blown up by Barnes. Alfred still has the owl pieces and heads out to retrieve them.

The criminal team of Oswald and Edward initiate their planned escape. Ed holds Oswald at knifepoint as the guards rush in. Ed pretends to cut Oswald’s throat and Oswald falls to the floor. The guards figure out pretty quickly the blood is Jello, but not in time to stop Oswald and Ed’s plan. The dastardly duo incapacitate the guards and make their escape.

Kathryn’s brought into the station where she sees a very much alive Jim Gordon. Jim interrogates her, asking about the bomb and about kidnapping Bruce Wayne. When Jim asks what the Court will think about their leader behind bars, Kathryn reveals she’s not the leader.

Alfred delivers the pieces of the owl to Harvey who admits he can’t even do a jigsaw puzzle. He’ll call one of his men who makes molds to see if he can help. As he jumps on the phone, Alfred asks about Jim and Harvey tells him he’s currently interrogating Kathryn. Alfred doesn’t even pause, storming out of the room to find Jim.

Alfred barges into the interrogation and demands to know where Bruce is being held. Kathryn isn’t fazed, believing they’re playing good cop/bad cop. Alfred confesses he’s a butler and then stabs Kathryn throw her hand, pinning it to the table.

Captain Barnes arrives and tosses knock-out gas into the GCPD, declaring, “Court is now in session.”

Alfred promises to gut Kathryn if she doesn’t reveal Bruce’s location. They feel the building shake as Barnes continues his attack. Harvey checks it out and then tells them they need to leave ASAP. Alfred grabs Kathryn as Harvey and Jim lead the way. Kathryn yells for help as Barnes falls onto Jim from the ceiling. Harvey, Jim, and Alfred all attack but Kathryn gets in the middle of it. She demands Barnes stop this nonsense and take her out of the building now, but Barnes doesn’t appreciate her labeling his form of justice as nonsense. He slices her throat and Kathryn falls to the ground, dead.

Harvey’s unconscious and Jim is Barnes’ next target. Jim grabs a shotgun and blows off Barnes’ arm which had the executioner’s blade attached. He then uses the butt of the gun to knock Barnes out.

Edward and Oswald emerge from the building and drop their makeshift weapons. They agree to stick with their deal, but Ed taunts Oswald saying Barbara runs the underworld now and has all the gangs under her control while Oswald has no one. Oswald corrects him, revealing he has Hugo Strange’s monsters on his side.

Lee arrives at the station but she’s not there to help. She’s totally done with this place and believes there’s no justice in Gotham. She confesses she’s ready to pay for what she did, which totally confuses Jim.

Jim tells Harvey that with Catherine dead, the Court of Owls’ leader will be forced to act. Harvey didn’t realize Kathryn wasn’t in charge and Jim admits he has no idea who is.

Bruce and the Shaman are once again back in the vision world, with Bruce still holding his mother’s pearls in front of the open safe. “The Court of Owls must pay for what they did. It’s the only way,” says the Shaman. This time Bruce can let go of the pearls, although he does so with a shaking hand.

Coming to, the Shaman asks him how he feels when he thinks about the murder of his mom and dad. Bruce replies, “I feel nothing.” The Shaman then explains Bruce just went through the same training as the Court of Owls’ Talons, proving his point by asking a Talon to cut off his own finger which he does without hesitation. The Shaman reveals that since he’s taken away the painful memory, Bruce will now be under his control and do whatever he says. Bruce agrees.

Back at the GCPD, the owl’s been put back together and the map is projected onto a screen. Of course, that means there’s bad news on the way to balance the good, and the bad news this time is that Barnes has escaped. Plus, the virus sample is now missing and Jim suspects Lee took it.

Lee’s at home and she definitely has the sample. She injects herself and smiles.

‘Dark Universe’ – Classic Movie Monsters are Reborn in New Feature Films

Dark Universe Monster Movies Actors

Universal Pictures just announced the studio’s upcoming films featuring classic movie monsters will collectively be known as “Dark Universe.” In support of the “Dark Universe” announcement, the studio released a short video montage from classic horror films as well as unveiling the “Dark Universe” logo. The logo, accompanied by a new musical theme composed by Danny Elfman, will appear in theaters in front of The Mummy.

The Mummy starring Tom Cruise is the first film in the series and will debut in theaters on June 9, 2017. Universal announced the second film will be Bride of Frankenstein directed by Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast) and targeting a Thursday, February 14, 2019 theatrical release. The “Dark Universe” films will also include The Invisible Man starring Johnny Depp and Frankenstein’s Monster starring Javier Bardem.

“When Universal approached us with the idea of reimagining these classic characters, we recognized the responsibility of respecting their legacy while bringing them into new and modern adventures,” said The Mummy director Alex Kurtzman and producer Chris Morgan who are credited as the core creatives behind “Dark Universe.” “The studio and our fellow creative collaborators have championed and challenged us as we’ve begun to spin the web of Dark Universe. It’s our hope these movies will engross longtime fans and spark the imaginations of brand-new ones.”

“We take enormous pride in the creativity and passion that has inspired the reimagining of Universal’s iconic monsters and promise audiences we will expand this series strategically,” said Donna Langley, Chairman, Universal Pictures. “The enterprise masterfully developed by Chris and Alex will allow each subsequent chapter the right time to find the perfect cast, filmmakers and vision to fulfill it. As we launch Dark Universe with Danny’s provocative theme before The Mummy and collaborate with a brilliant filmmaker like Bill to weave the story of a very modern woman in a very classic tale, we feel confident we’re off to a tremendous start.”

“I grew up on monsters,” added Elfman. “Monsters were my life, and these iconic Universal monsters were almost like my family. I simply wouldn’t be the same without them. When I got the opportunity to compose a theme for the Dark Universe logo, of course I jumped at it. What could be more fun than connecting to this world that has always been so deeply imbedded in my psyche? I tried to find something that was new but still had some connections with the past—the origins—at least in a subtle way. Something that was looking forward to a creative, fertile, imaginative future that Dark Universe will enter, and at the same time saluting the heritage of the tragic heroes (or anti-heroes) of my childhood. To the Monsters!!!!”

Commenting on his attachment to direct Bride of Frankenstein, Bill Condon said, “I’m very excited to bring a new Bride of Frankenstein to life on screen, particularly since James Whale’s original creation is still so potent. The Bride of Frankenstein remains the most iconic female monster in film history, and that’s a testament to Whale’s masterpiece— which endures as one of the greatest movies ever made.”

Columbia Pictures and Rovio Entertainment are moving forward on The Angry Birds Movie sequel, targeting a September 20, 2019 theatrical release date for the animated sequel. The Angry Birds Movie 2 will open in theaters timed to coincide with the addictive Angry Birds game’s 10th anniversary. Adventure Time‘s Thurop Van Orman is on board to direct and King of the Hill‘s John Rice is co-directing. Rice was at the helm of the Angry Birds Hatchlings shorts and was the lead storyboard artist on the first Angry Birds film.

The Angry Birds Movie premiered on May 20, 2016 and debuted to a $38 million domestic opening weekend. The animated comedy went on to gross $349 million worldwide before exiting theaters. The sequel will be produced by John Cohen and The Americans‘ Peter Ackerman is penning the script. According to Columbia Pictures, Francesca Natale is returning as the character art director, Pete Oswald is back as the production designer, and Sony Pictures Imageworks will be handling the animation.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up again with Sony Pictures after the fantastic cooperation in the first movie and I can’t wait to experience the new journey in the upcoming film,” stated Kati Levoranta, CEO of Rovio Entertainment. “Rovio is continuing to focus on creating exciting new stories and experiences around our games and we’re eager to take fans back into the vibrant Angry Birds world on the big screen.”

The Angry Birds Movie took the world by storm last year, creating a whole new legion of fans worldwide,” added Sanford Panitch, president of Columbia Pictures. “We had an incredible experience working with our friends and creative partners at Rovio, and now we – including our team at Sony Pictures Imageworks – are ready to launch into this next adventure.”

The Plot of the Original Angry Birds Movie: The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

Lionsgate’s debuted an emotionally moving first trailer for the dramatic film, The Glass Castle, starring Brie Larson (Room, Kong: Skull Island). The film’s based on Jeannette Walls’ critically acclaimed memoir and was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12). Cretton and Andrew Lanham adapted Walls’ memoir for the screen, and Naomi Watts, Woody Harrelson, Sarah Snook, Max Greenfield, and Iain Armitage co-star in the PG-13 rated film. Lionsgate’s planning an August 11, 2017 theatrical release.

The Plot: Chronicling the adventures of an eccentric, resilient and tight-knit family, The Glass Castle is a remarkable story of unconditional love. Oscar® winner Brie Larson brings Walls’ best-selling memoir to life as a young woman who, influenced by the joyfully wild nature of her deeply dysfunctional father (Harrelson), found the fiery determination to carve out a successful life on her own terms.

‘SNL’ Clip: A Dwayne Johnson and Tom Hanks Presidential Ticket

Saturday Night Live Dwayne Johnson and Tom Hanks

Dwayne Johnson, soon to be seen in Baywatch, had the honor of hosting the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 20, 2017. Johnson participated in skits that found him riding the rapids at Jurassic Park, promoting an enhancement drug with horrible side effects, debuting his Scorpio superhero costume, doing a WWE promo video in which he spilled his opponent’s very personal secrets, and playing an up-and-coming actor opposite a superstar who couldn’t stop farting.

Johnson was also awarded the exclusive 5-timers club jacket during the opening monologue, presented to him by Alec Baldwin who opened the show singing “Hallelujah” as Donald Trump. However, Baldwin wasn’t the only member of the five-timers club to take the stage with Dwayne Johnson. Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks put in an appearance during Johnson’s monologue, and the popular pair decided they’d toss their hats into the ring and run for president and vice president in 2020. The crowd was definitely into it as Johnson and Hanks unfurled a banner declaring Johnson and Hanks 2020.

The 42nd season finale of Saturday Night Live marked the show’s most watched finale of the past six years, earning the highest ratings since Justin Timberlake/Lady Gaga’s May 21, 2011 season finale. The episode was watched by 8.272 million viewers and was the week’s #1 telecast among all broadcast networks for the week.

In year-to-year comparisons, the May 21st episode was up 58% in total viewers versus 2016. Overall, the 42nd season was up 32% in total viewers over 2016. This season ranks as the most watched season in 23 years, thanks in large part to its skewering of what’s going on in the White House.
