Netflix just released a teaser trailer for the second season of the popular fantasy series Sweet Tooth. The minute-and-a-half teaser shows Gus is being held captive. But all hope isn’t lost as the trailer ends with Gus declaring he’s no longer going to hide from humans – he’s ready to fight back.
The eight-episode first season debuted in June 2021. Season two is set to premiere on April 27, 2023.
Christian Convery returns to star as Gus, Nonso Anozie is back as Jepperd, Adeel Akhtar plays Dr. Singh, Stefania LaVie Owen is Bear, and Dania Ramirez reprises her role as Aimee Eden. Season two also stars Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh, Naledi Murray as Wendy, Neil Sandilands as General Abbot, Marlon Williams as Johnny Abbot, Christopher Sean Cooper Jr. as Teddy, and Yonas Kibreab as Finn.
James Brolin is the voice of the narrator.
The Emmy-winning series is based on the DC comics by Jeff Lemire. Jim Mickle guides the series as writer, director, executive producer, and showrunner. Additional executive producers include Linda Moran and Team Downey’s Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, and Amanda Burrell.
As a deadly new wave of the Sick bears down, Gus and a band of fellow hybrids are held prisoner by General Abbot and the Last Men. Looking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as fodder for the experiments of captive Dr. Aditya Singh, who’s racing to save his infected wife Rani.
To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, beginning a dark journey into his origins and his mother Birdie’s (Amy Seimetz) role in the events leading up to The Great Crumble.
Outside the Preserve, Tommy Jepperd and Aimee Eden team up to break the hybrids free, a partnership that will be tested as Jepperd’s secrets come to light. As the revelations of the past threaten the possibility of redemption in the present, Gus and his found family find themselves on a collision course with Abbot and the evil forces that look to wipe them out once and for all.
Keanu Reeves as John Wick in ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ (Photo Credit: Murray Close)
Popcorn’s just fine but skip the purchase of a beverage. John Wick: Chapter 4 is nearly three hours long and you absolutely don’t want to miss a single minute of the second-best film of the action franchise. Once you settle in (and turn off your phone!), don’t get up unless there’s a legitimate emergency.
It all started with the killing of an adorable puppy. Daisy’s murder pulled retired hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) out of retirement and sent him on a quest for revenge. Now, looking back on that first film, it seems sort of tame compared to the three sequels it’s spawned. Yet it remains the best of the lot, if for no other reason than that it established the world in which John Wick and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of assassins exist. Each of these highly skilled killers swears an oath of fealty to the High Table – “I have served. I will be of service.” – and adheres to strict rules of conduct.
But John Wick remains a wild card the High Table would like taken out of the game. He’s the unstoppable force to the High Table’s immovable object; the one entity in the world who can have an impact on the hierarchy. Fueled by righteous anger, John is aware he can’t topple the High Table but he can alter its makeup. And that’s exactly what he sets out to do in John Wick: Chapter 4.
His target: the vicious and merciless Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard).
The Marquis wants John Wick, and anyone who assists him, dead. The millions the Marquis is willing to pay results in wave after wave after wave of assassins vying to cash in on the bounty.
The Marquis’ need to extinguish Wick forces an old friend of John’s out of retirement. Caine (the legendary Donnie Yen) is coerced into accepting the contract to kill John only after his daughter’s life is placed at stake. Now blind, Caine’s such a lethal force that even without his eyesight he has the ability to match John blow for blow.
Despite the bounty on his head, John has a few friends who remain by his side, including Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada) whose brief offer of hospitality places targets on his Osaka Continental Hotel (a consecrated hotel), its staff, and his daughter.
It wouldn’t be a John Wick film without Winston (Ian McShane) and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) helping our favorite canine-loving assassin. And speaking of dogs, this fourth film introduces an intriguing new character who also has a four-legged sidekick. Shamier Anderson joins the fray as Tracker, a methodical, calculated hired gun who has an almost preternatural ability to locate John Wick.
With characters established, rules in place, and John Wick on the run, Chapter 4 wastes no time in putting the thorn in the High Table’s side in harm’s way. While most action films are satisfied with a few crazy bits followed by a frenzied, over-the-top action spectacle, the John Wick franchise has always taken a different approach. Anything can be a weapon in Wick’s hands and no opportunity for a fight sequence is left on the table.
Each of the John Wick movies featured numerous memorable action sequences, but what Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski have achieved with Chapter 4 takes not just the franchise but the genre to the next level.
Chapter 4 one-ups every previous John Wick fight scene. The fourth film incorporates astonishingly brutal sequences that pay homage to the previous chapters while at the same time taking the bar they’ve established and catapulting it into the stratosphere.
This fourth outing has everything you could ever want from a John Wick film and much, much more. Chapter 4 is loaded with one spectacular balls-to-the-wall fight scene after another, and all manner of weapons are used – swords, guns, knives, fists, nun-chucks, cars, stairs, and even a dog. But it’s not just the wide assortment of lethal weapons that makes Chapter 4 the new standard bearer for non-CGI, non-superhero action films, it’s the intricate choreography combined with incredible sets and superb cinematography. And the cherry on top – Keanu Reeves performing as many of his own stunts as humanly possible.
Reeves said Chapter 4 was the most physically demanding role of his career. It’s obvious he put his body through hell for the film, but the result is worth it. John Wick: Chapter 4 is action nirvana, a cinematic tour-de-force of unparalleled, adrenaline-charged ass-kicking.

Sadly, Lance Reddick, a scene-stealing fixture in the franchise, passed away before the fourth film hit theaters. Reddick’s smooth delivery and impenetrable calmness as Charon made the supporting character into a beloved – and key – figure in the John Wick world. An incredibly talented actor and decent human being, Reddick will be sorely missed, and my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie are set to write and executive produce We Were Liars for Prime Video. The streaming service has given a series order to the project based on the bestselling young adult novel by E. Lockhart.
Author Lockhart will be involved in the series as an executive producer along with My So-Called Company’s Emily Cummins.
“We’ve been obsessed with this beloved story for years and for a while it seemed like it might be the one that got away from us. But finally, we are elated to be bringing it to life with everyone at Prime Video and UTV, who are just as passionate about this twisty tale as we are. We‘re also incredibly grateful that the author has joined our creative team behind the scenes. As die-hard book fans ourselves, we have one message to the many loyal readers out there: if anyone asks you how it ends… just lie,” stated executive producers Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie.
Plec’s credits include Kyle XY, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, The Tomorrow People, Containment, Legacies, and Roswell, New Mexico. Her most recent young adult series, Vampire Academy, premiered in September 2022 on Peacock.
Adly MacKenzie worked with Plec on The Originals, and created, wrote, and executive produced Roswell, New Mexico which wrapped up its four-season run in September 2022.
“E. Lockhart’s We Were Liars is a gripping story centered on family, love, secrets, and lies that is perfect for our Prime Video audience,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television for Amazon and MGM Studios. “Lockhart, Julie Plec, and Carina Adly MacKenzie are each brilliant at creating complex characters and we’re looking forward to teaming up with these incredible storytellers, along with Universal Television, to bring this show to life.”
Prime Video describes the series as a tragic love story and an amnesia thriller set on a privately owned island off the coast of Massachusetts.
“This haunting psychological mystery from E. Lockhart has everything—first love, bougie family drama, and plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat!” said Erin Underhill, president, Universal Television. “With Julie and Carina penning the series, the project couldn’t be in better hands. We’re excited to partner with Prime Video and Amazon Studios to bring We Were Liars to audiences all over the world.”
Prime Video’s announcement didn’t include any details on when fans of the bestselling novel can expect casting news.
CBS’s Blue Bloods will return from a three-week break with season 13 episode 16, “The Naked Truth.” Directed by Donald Thorin, Jr. from a script by Nicole Abraham and Daniel Truly, episode 16 will air on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT.
The cast is led by Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan, Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan, and Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan. Will Estes stars as Jamie Reagan, Len Cariou is Henry Reagan, Sami Gayle is Nicky Reagan-Boyle, Marisa Ramirez plays Det. Maria Baez, and Vanessa Ray is Officer Eddie Janko.
Episode 16 guest stars include Peter Hermann as Jack Boyle and Alysha Umphress as Tracey.
“The Naked Truth” Plot: Jamie and Eddie find themselves at odds when Jamie learns that Eddie’s close friend Tracey may be using the restaurant she owns as a drug front. Also, Erin forms an alliance with Anthony and her ex-husband, Jack Boyle, when she is accused of causing the suicide of a former colleague; Frank weighs whether he should fire a female officer who has an online profile featuring naked photos of herself; and Danny and Baez try not to be influenced by their own biases when they are faced with various descriptions of the same suspect.
Blue Bloods is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner, and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as chief.
A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son, Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his partner and new mother, Detective Maria Baez. Erin, the middle daughter, is a New York assistant D.A. who serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father, while also pursuing a run for district attorney. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a Harvard Law graduate and the family’s golden boy.
Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and follow in the family footsteps as a cop. He’s found a friend and ally in his wife, Eddie, who keeps him on his toes, and has very different reasons than the Reagans for joining the police force.
Just days after Joy Ride released its wickedly funny first trailer and debuted at SXSW, the cast has been named as CinemaCon’s Comedy Ensemble of the Year Award recipients. Critics who caught Joy Ride at SXSW call the film fun and the studio comedy to beat this year, and the trailer confirms it could be this year’s Bridesmaids.

The Joy Ride Plot:
“The hilarious and unapologetically explicit story of identity and self-discovery centers on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of Lolo (Cola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin.
Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.”

“Love”
Ed Sheeran explains the unwavering work ethic that has driven his global success. With exclusive footage of his teenage years, Ed describes how he planned his unlikely success. When he was ignored by the music industry he started to play in unexpected settings until this determination brought him into contact with media entrepreneur Jamal Edwards in 2010.
Together, they used the burgeoning internet to find their audience. “The A Team” breaks America but for Ed something was still missing. Ed shares the story behind his iconic love song, “Perfect” about his old school friend and now wife Cherry which tells of their romantic love story. Ed seems to have everything, until Cherry gets life-altering news and Ed quickly realizes that plans can change in an instant and he will have to adapt.
“Loss”
Ed, his parents, and wife Cherry look at old photos of Ed and explain why he decided to return to live in his English hometown. With unseen footage of Ed’s Divide Tour, Ed introduces his tight fortress of trusted friends that keep him anchored. Then, the unthinkable happens. Ed’s best friend, Jamal Edwards, suddenly dies. Ed struggles through a memorial for Jamal as he considers Jamal’s legacy.
Ed meditates on the meaning of friendship and, using music as therapy, dives deep into work. During Ed’s 5-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, British artist, Stormzy, joins Ed on stage in an epic performance before a smaller, surprise gig in his hometown. In a rousing homecoming singalong, Ed sings the iconic “Thinking Out Loud” to shocked locals looking on.
“Focus”
Ed shows his songwriting talents in exclusive archival footage showing the inception of one of his biggest hits, “Bad Habits.” Ed explains the origin story of writing “Eyes Closed” in 2018, through to its latest heartfelt version. After a turbulent year, Ed’s able to channel his emotions, and pours himself into completing his 5-album masterplan with Subtract, which has eluded him for over a decade.
Mourning the loss of Jamal, Ed continues at pace, filming 14 music videos for his new album and has his childhood dream come true when he performs with Eminem at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, but Cherry worries he may be using work as a distraction. In an intimate performance, Ed publicly shares songs from Subtract for the first time but is overwhelmed when his emotions get the better of him.
“Balance”
In the final episode, Ed Sheeran jets off to America to promote his tour. Both Ed and Cherry reflect on how they manage the challenges of balancing family life and work when they are regularly miles apart. Reunited at their home, Cherry explains how much of a shift she has seen in Ed over the last year. Ed meets up with friend and fellow British artist, Stormzy, to share his apprehensions of releasing his most personal thoughts into the world with Subtract.
In a tribute to Jamal, Ed writes a beat for his “F64” rap about their friendship for an intimate performance at Chelsea FC’s home ground, Stamford Bridge. After some good news about Cherry’s health, she and Ed reflect on all the hardships and triumphs over the last year and look towards the future having a more cherished outlook on life.

But to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer – an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.
Robyn’s clandestine work and her personal life collide when her smart and observant daughter, Delilah, and her aunt Vi, who lives with Robyn to help her balance life as a working mother, discover her secret career as a vigilante. While Robyn contends with uncertainty at home, she is joined in her pursuit of justice by Melody “Mel” Bayani, an edgy bar owner and sniper from Robyn’s past; and Harry Keshegian, a paranoid and brilliant white-hat hacker.
As Robyn aids the oppressed and exploited, she sometimes works with Marcus Dante, an NYPD detective who once sought to uncover her identity, but now respects the need for Robyn’s type of justice even as he often questions her methods.
