The CW’s Walker season two ended on a cliffhanger that found Cordell kidnapped and tied up in the back of a van. Season three episode one, “World on a String,” begins right after the events of season two’s finale, with everyone hustling to get Cord back safe and sound.
Season three episode one airs on October 6, 2022, and in a recent interview with TVLine, series star and executive producer Jared Padalecki confirmed we’ll find out what’s going on fairly quickly. “Certainly in the season three premiere, we’ll get a glimpse of just how much trouble Cord is in, if there’s any way for him to get out or if he’s gonna need help…and how help would even get to him or find him.”
In addition to Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, the season three cast includes Coby Bell as Captain Larry James, Ashley Reyes as Cassie Perez, Keegan Allen as Liam, Violet Brinson as Stella, and Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett. Also returning are Mitch Pileggi as Bohnam, Kale Culley as August, Molly Hagan as Abeline, and Odette Annable as Geri Broussard.
“World on a String” Plot: Picking up where we left off in season 2, it’s graduation day and the Walker family is turning a corner into a seemingly hopeful future that is until Cordell (Padalecki) goes missing, and his mysterious captors are trying to break him down physically and mentally. Meanwhile, Captain James (Bell), Cassie (Reyes) and the rest of the Rangers have all hands on deck to bring Cordell home safely but Stella (Brinson) has ideas of her own on how she can help.
Episode one was directed by Steve Robin from a script by Seamus Kevin Fahey and Anna Fricke.
Poster for Apple Original Films’ ‘Spirited’ starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds
Apple Original Films is taking an unusual approach to building the buzz for Spirited. Instead of the usual movie posters, Apple’s opted to release four behind-the-scenes posters for what they’re describing as a modern musical rendition of Charles Dickens’ classic holiday story A Christmas Carol.
The posters feature the musical’s stars Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer. And Reynolds mentioned the posters’ release on Twitter, tweeting, “For some reason, these are called iPosters.” (It’s Friday and my brain’s in weekend mode so it took me a minute to figure out the joke.)
The cast also includes Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Loren Woods, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley, and Jen Tullock. Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home, Horrible Bosses 2) and John Morris co-wrote the screenplay, with Anders directing. Anders, Morris, Reynolds, Ferrell, George Dewey, Jessica Elbaum, and David Koplan produced.
The posters’ release was accompanied by the news Spirited will sing and dance its way into theaters on November 11, 2022, followed by a release on Apple TV+ on November 18th.

Meanwhile, Luke is told the devastating truth from Nicky; Catt celebrates Ana’s signing with Monarch with a party at the Brambles, where Ana and Ace connect.

And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown NICOLETTE “NICKY” ROMAN (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom.

ABC’s The Good Doctor season five ended with Shaun and Lea getting married followed by a brutal attack that served up a heartstopping cliffhanger. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer David Shore discussed what’s in store for fans when they tune into the season six premiere. “The first episode has a huge amount of intensity and fun, but it’s difficult because it’s the immediate fallout [from the finale]… Lim’s journey is going to be a big part of it, we have some nice things planned for Glassman, and, of course, nothing but wedded bliss for Shaun and Lea.”
Season six stars Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, Hill Harper plays Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff is Dr. Aaron Glassman, and Will Yun Lee is Dr. Alex Park. Paige Spara stars as Lea Dilallo, Christina Chang is Dr. Audrey Lim, Fiona Gubelmann plays Dr. Morgan Reznick, Bria Henderson is Dr. Jordan Allen, and Noah Galvin is Dr. Asher Wolke.

The cast is led by Angela Bassett as Athena Grant and Peter Krause as Bobby Nash. Ryan Guzman plays Eddie Diaz, Aisha Hinds stars as Henrietta ‘Hen’ Wilson, Oliver Stark is Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley, Kenneth Choi is Howie ‘Chimney’ Han, and Jennifer Love Hewitt is Maddie Buckley.
“Crash & Learn” Plot: The 118 race to the rescue when a structure collapse at a “happiness convention” traps people under rubble. While on FaceTime with her mom, Athena’s father suffers a stroke and crashes through the wall of his house. Hen stretches herself too thin with test prep and her new responsibilities at the 118, while Maddie tries to help new recruit get his bearings at the call center.
Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear reimagine the procedural drama with 9-1-1, exploring the high-pressure experiences of police officers, firefighters and dispatchers who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.

The season one finale of The History Channel’s Alone spinoff, Alone: Frozen, kicks off with just two survivalists remaining in the Labrador wilderness. Woniya and Michelle have made it through 33 days in the freezing cold as the episode begins, outlasting their four fellow survivalists and standing to earn $250,000 if they can make it to Day 50.
(No spoilers here but there are plenty in the following episode recap, including the name of Alone: Frozen’s season one winner.)
Woniya and Michelle have battled the wind, the snow, and a dwindling food supply to make it this far. But, unfortunately, only one of the two incredible female participants lasts all the way to the end and makes Alone franchise history by doing so.
Michelle in season 1 of The History Channel’s ‘Alone: Frozen’
Michelle Finn, Age 47, Maine – Season 8, Survived 21 Days
16 Days Left: Michelle wants to get out and check her snares, but first, she needs to try and fix her fire. Her one complaint is that it’s become too smoky inside her shelter.
She’s targeting making Day 40, calling it her next major milestone. Michelle thinks that having a female winner could be significant and inspiring to some young women.
She checks her traps, hoping for some red meat. She munches on berries as she hikes. Michelle admits her attitude toward hunting has changed and now she views it as communion.
“When you’re starving and you get an animal, there’s an honor in the connection. It is powerful the level of gratitude that you feel,” explains Michelle.
She spots a grouse and takes a shot. She hits it but it’s not dead, so she chases it down. It has an arrow piercing its side but keeps fluttering away so she’s forced to shoot it again. She cuts off its head and the body continues moving, temporarily, since the spine and nervous system remain intact after death.
Michelle becomes emotional as she thanks the grouse and the land. She calls it a good day for the “tiny little hunter” in her.
Back at her shelter, Michelle cooks up the grouse, happy to get some protein. She describes her stomach as making a purring noise in response to the red meat.
Michelle hopes there’s someone else still in the competition.
13 Days Left: It’s late afternoon as Michelle explains the weather’s been weird. The wind’s blowing at 45 mph and snow covers everything. She admits there’s both a level of excitement and trepidation felt at being so close to the end. The thought of not crossing the finish line at this point is painful.
All her firewood outside is encrusted in ice. She feels like she’s got something in her eye as she stokes her fire and notes for the first time it’s snowing into the shelter.
Michelle’s taking it one day at a time.
12 Days Left: She’s having trouble with her eyes. The smoke’s bothering them, and nothing helps. The conifer smoke is acrid, and it irritates the eyes and throat. She hopes if she goes outside in the fresh air, it will help soothe her eyes.
A short while later her eyes haven’t improved, and she reports only having half visual acuity in her left eye. Everything’s blurry when she uses her left eye.
Michelle doesn’t want to take a chance with her eyesight, and a mirror (in the first aid kit) confirms her left eye is puffy. She’d promised herself – and her husband – that she would tap rather than damage her health.
It’s so cold that she’s forced to return to her fire after being chilled to the bone from being outside. Of course, the fire makes her eyes hurt again. She confesses she’s not sure what to do.
It’s scary to have this happen to one of her senses and she doesn’t feel confident it’s safe. She’s torn between taking care of herself and going the distance.
Michelle makes the extremely difficult decision to tap out.
“I’m not the strongest or the best. I’m just me and I’m enough for myself, which is kind of a revelation,” she says. She thought she wasn’t enough but, in this moment, she feels freed from that. What she is is enough.
Michelle chuckles as she reveals her dad’s an optometrist. She knows that eyes heal easily but are also damaged easily. She doesn’t want to risk it and is proud of herself. Michelle became a hunter during these 38 days which was one of her goals.
It’s hard to leave and, overall, she believes she’s had a lot of success. She felt like she belonged in this world, and she’ll have this place inside her always.
Woniya in season 1 of The History Channel’s ‘Alone: Frozen’
Woniya Thibeault, Age 45, California – Season 6, Survived 73 Days
17 Days Left: Woniya’s added additional boughs to her shelter to keep out the wind and snow. The result is that she must crawl to exit her shelter. She’s going to spend part of the day fixing her entrance, and as she works, she reflects on working to overcome the conditioning she had as a young girl being told she wasn’t capable. She feels so fulfilled to be able to be a role model for young women.
Woniya’s careful while using the ax as she’s so close to the end that she doesn’t want an injury to force a tap out. She’s able to get her doorway open again, setting up a ridge pole and using some of her scrappy poles to secure the new entry to her structure.
Snow’s coming down as she continues to work on her new entryway.
14 Days Left: She’s built a wooden door for her shelter. It’s really windy and the conditions aren’t conducive to trapping rabbits. She thinks she might have enough mussels to make it through to the end.
Woniya emerges from her shelter to check her trapline. The snow is up to her knees in some places, and she laughs as she says it’s pretty dang wintery. Her traps are empty, but she spots a rabbit in the snow. She can’t throw her ax because it would see it coming. Still, she’s determined not to let it get away.
Woniya isn’t sure if it’s sitting where she set up a trap, and there’s a possibility it’s caught. She approaches and can see it is in fact caught by its leg. She uses her ax and her hands to end its life. She’s extremely grateful for the rabbit and recalls just saying that if she finds a rabbit, she’ll know that Labrador loves her.
“What an unbelievably tremendous gift,” says Woniya.
12 Days Left: Michelle has just tapped and if Woniya lasts 50 days, she’ll collect the full $500,000 prize.
The wind is intense, and she’s got liquid coming through the walls near her dry firewood. She works on fixing the gaps, but the wind is now coming straight down the chimney, forcing the smoke to remain inside the shelter. It’s not ideal and she’s getting a headache from smoke inhalation. It’s become a serious issue and her only option is to let the fire go out and stay warm in her sleeping bag.
Her eyes are incredibly painful, and she hopes she can sleep.
11 Days Left: Her eyes hurt all night and her vision’s blurry. She’s worried this will take her out but remains hopeful that rest will make things better.
She wakes up later and her eyes are feeling much better. The rest really helped.
10 Days Left: Woniya heads out onto the ice for a little ice fishing. She’s hoping this will be a new source of calories that could take her through to Day 50. She’s taking a tree out with her in case the ice cracks.
(Each survivalist was provided a personal flotation device.)
Woniya sits on the ice, legs spread around the hole she chopped as she fishes. She recalls on season six she had fishing gear in an area where fishing wasn’t an option. This time, she has fishing line but no signs of any fish. She calls it a day since the wind’s kicking up. This is the hardest experience of her life, and it feels like serious survival at this point.
9 Days Left: Her cheeks are starting to look gaunt.
7 Days Left: She didn’t believe in her physical capacity as a kid but here she is proving she’s got the strength to survive. There weren’t any real examples of strong women doing this when she was younger – it was all “boy stuff.” You didn’t see women doing hunting or camping back then. She fought her way to obtain the skills she has now while people tried to tell her survival skills weren’t for her.
The countdown clock ticks down as we watch Woniya repair her shelter, look at her traps, and retrieve firewood.
2 Days Left: Her body and time are winding down, and her energy is low.
1 Day Left: She describes the experience of being the role model for young girls she wished she’d had growing up as both moving and fulfilling. She’s been thinking about the other survivalists and wonders who’s left.
0 Days Left! Woniya is the sole survivor of 50 harsh, grueling days in the Labrador wilderness. The morning’s gorgeous and she cheers the fact she’s achieved her goal. The sun’s shining and the sky’s blue overhead as she builds an impressive stone sculpture (called an inukshuk) to give gratitude to the people who welcomed her to this land.
She’s never seen a more beautiful wild place but is excited to be leaving.
The helicopter arrives and she’s full of mixed emotions. She’s going to miss this place and this experience so much. Her partner, Taylor, walks up from behind as she’s speaking with the crew, describing her experiences. Woniya screams and cries and pulls Taylor in for a tight hug. She can’t believe he’s there; she missed him so much!
Taylor has the honor of breaking the news she’s the only one who made it to Day 50. He’s incredibly proud of her – as he should be.
Woniya immediately asks if the other survivalists are alright, and she’s happy to learn they’re all okay.
“It’s heartbreaking and incredibly validating that so many people who are so skilled weren’t able to do it and I was able to do it,” says Woniya. “It’s just so much. It’s just so overwhelming.”
The producer asks how it feels to be the first woman to win and Woniya is overcome with emotion.
“It feels incredible. I feel so incredibly grateful to be able to represent women in this way and to show the world that we are every bit as capable…and emphasize the heart and the connection and the love and how much being in this place has been a relationship. I feel like that’s something really special that women often can bring.”
To be the role model that she wished she would have had as a young woman is so powerful and means so much to Alone: Frozen season one’s winner, Woniya Thibeault.
She prefers not to use the word survival; she prefers to call this wilderness living.
Woniya is now the participant who has spent the most cumulative days on Alone living in the wild by herself. Woniya is the first person – not just the first woman – to do 123 days on Alone.
Woniya, Callie and Michelle in ‘Alone: Frozen’ season 1 (Photo Credit: The History Channel)
Survive 50 days and win a share of $500,000. That’s the setup for History’s Alone: Frozen. And by the end of season one episode seven, just two survivalists will split the pot if they can stick it out until the bitter, freezing end.
Episode six ended with Callie making a deal with herself, and episode seven opens with Callie learning her fate. “The Last Hope” takes us from 24 days left in the 50-day competition down to 18.
If no one makes it to Day 50, then the prize will go unclaimed.
Callie Russell, Age 34, Montana – Season 7, Survived 89 Days
24 Days Left: Callie made a deal with herself that if she doesn’t find any food in her snares, she’ll tap out. She gets up after spending the night outside her shelter under the stars, aware that she might be causing long-term harm to her body.
The mussels are making her sick so they’re no longer an option.
She heads out and is disappointed her first few traps are empty. Callie would like to stay but she’s not going to push her body to an unsafe place. Her last hope at food is her fish trap and she walks over the ice to retrieve her line. Her fate in the game hangs in the balance as the ice refuses to break and allow her to pull in her rope.
Callie finally tosses a rock to break up the ice, retrieves her trap, and it’s empty. Bummer. She really wants to stay and learn more about the wilderness and herself, but she doesn’t have any food. “It’s hard to accept when your heart and mind and soul want to keep doing something, but you’ve reached your physical edge,” says Callie.
We’re barely into episode seven when she officially taps out. Her knowledge of what happens when you push your body too far makes her extremely cautious. Even though it’s a lot of money, Callie is sure she’s making the right choice.
“I’m leaving with a heart full of gratitude,” explains Callie. Losing her brothers when she was younger taught her the value of life, and she describes the wilderness as “a mirror of truth.” She sees her brothers in it.
Callie chose her healthy body over money. She wants viewers to see this as a story of empowerment.
Woniya in season 1 of The History Channel’s ‘Alone: Frozen’
Woniya Thibeault, Age 45, California – Season 6, Survived 73 Days
23 Days Left: It’s sunny but the stream is frozen, and Woniya knows that means she has ice fishing in her near future. She gathers blueberries as she explains that making it through 50 days is all about playing it safe.
There aren’t any tracks by the stream but she’s happy about harvesting tinder and berries. Right after saying it’s about being safe she slices her pinky. It hurts but she doesn’t need the medics. She reminds herself to use gloves and she’ll have to take extra precautions when cutting up game so that her wound doesn’t get infected.
She wraps her wound and decides to eat a little bit back at camp instead of doing more work right now.
22 Days Left: Woniya finds fox poop outside her shelter and one of her snare wires is pushed out of the way. That means it knows about snare wire after being trapped in it once before (in episode five.) It was able to move the wire and eat all the bait.
Woniya’s plan is to try and figure out how to place the snare so that it snags the fox. She knows how to trap foxes and would be thrilled to eat one. Plus, it’s right next to her shelter!
Just as darkness is about to fall, she places rabbit leftovers in the trap and adds another snare in the middle of the trap – one the fox won’t expect. The second snare will be “more subtle and a different color.”
She hopes to outfox the fox.
21 Days Left: It’s 4:28am when a fox is heard in the trap.
Woniya gets up around 8am and she’s caught the fox. She describes it as beautiful and feels incredibly grateful it gave its life for her to eat. All her efforts paid off, and she plans on using its scent glands to draw in other foxes.
She heads over to put on her gloves since she sliced her finger and needs to keep it dry. She begins slicing up the fox and puts the testicles in the pot. They’re full of protein and cholesterol.
After skinning it she proceeds to gut it, making sure she takes care with the intestines. Salmonella and tapeworms can be transmitted to humans from the fox’s bowels.
Later, she cooks up the fatty bits. If its meat isn’t completely cooked, it can lead to trichinosis. She says a prayer while eating the fox’s heart, which is rich in vitamins and minerals.
20 Days Left: Woniya plans on thoroughly scraping the fox’s hide. She’ll eat the membrane and tan the hide. She sets to work setting up a scraping beam, making a smooth surface so she doesn’t put holes in the hide.
She loves the beauty and the strangeness of this world. “If you look deep enough this world is going to blow you over with all the crazy cool things from the microscopic level to the huge level,” says Woniya.
She sets to work scraping the hide, using a piece of steel she found five days in. She’s finding a lot of fat on the hide and places it in her bucket. Alone informs us fat is safe to eat for a month at room temperature after it’s rendered.
She’s going to make a scarf out of the hide now that she’s finished the scraping.
18 Days Left: Her current task is to retrieve water from her nearby freshwater lake. She brings her axe because it’s frozen over and notes her approach to the lake is pretty slippery right now. She moves some rocks around to make for a safer entry to the lake.
The storm clouds look ominous, and she uses her axe to break the ice, realizing she needs to hurry and get out of the high winds. Winds can gust up to 50 mph in this area.
She’s thinking a lot about her fellow survivalists and knows you have to focus on finding the beauty in the discomfort and not focus on the challenge and the hardships. The competition’s been brutally hard.
She makes it to her shelter as the freezing cold wind rocks the area. An intense storm has arrived.
Woniya stands outside in the horizontal snow and the crazy winds. She’s all bundled up as she heads off to check her trap line. She’s sure she can go the distance, but it’s tough finding her snares since they’re buried under the snow.
After half an hour outside she’s completely soaked. The snow turned to water the second it touched her. She makes it back to her shelter and her clothes steam from the fire.
Woniya confirms this is one of those days they were warned would happen in Labrador. It’s life-threatening weather.
Michelle in season 1 of The History Channel’s ‘Alone: Frozen’
Michelle Finn, Age 47, Maine – Season 8, Survived 21 Days
22 Days Left: Michelle admits she had a rough night because of long-term hunger. She’s been dreaming about food which makes it tough to sleep. Michelle needs more calories and decides to eat more clams and mussels today.
She uses her scarf as a fishnet to rinse everything and then heads back to the shelter and cooks them up.
Michelle knows that if she’d weighed 20 more pounds coming into the game, she could easily make the 50 days. But she’s so slight she doesn’t have weight on her bones to lose. However, she doesn’t know at what point she’ll lose too much and have to tap.
She cooks up 130 mussels and 50 clams. Alone informs us that mussels are nine calories each and clams are seven. She just ate 1,520 calories – thank you Alone for doing the math.
Michelle’s lost 16 pounds so far.
She heads out to check her traps and look for any game to hunt. She thinks the area feels like it should be full of animals, and after finding empty traps she finally comes upon one with a hare in it.
She feels an intense surge of gratitude mixed with shock and relief. The hare could be the difference between lasting the full 50 days or having to tap. She knows she’s at the point where she’s getting close to the finish line, but it’s hard to let herself dream.
Michelle skins the rabbit and it’s a large one that completely fills her pot.
20 Days Left: The ground is completely covered in snow as she heads out to do some hunting and check on her snares. A squirrel yells at her but she doesn’t take a shot. She hasn’t seen any hare or grouse tracks while she’s out on her hike and is feeling discouraged. However, she knows there are squirrels around.
19 Days Left: Michelle confesses she’s never even thought about trying to shoot a squirrel with her bow because they’re small and fast. They’re definitely not her first choice of animal to hunt, but she realizes she’s forced to. She’s decided she’s going to wage a war on squirrels.
She shoots one but it doesn’t die, and she puts it out of its misery.
Since squirrels are all that’s out there, she hopes it will be enough to allow her to go the distance.
18 Days Left: Michelle’s winning her war on squirrels and is proud of herself. She’s not a hunter and doesn’t have the experience but has been able to shoot enough squirrels to get some protein. She takes a bite and realizes there’s a difference in texture between the younger ones and the older ones.
Michelle points her camera out of the shelter and describes it as gnarly. She has to go out in it to check her snares, and she’s getting soaking wet from the moisture-laden snow. There’s nothing in her traps and it’s -1 out in the open, with the wind chill. This is the worst weather they’ve had so far.
Michelle loves the idea that this season isn’t about winning over other people, but instead, they can win together. It feels within her reach, and she doesn’t believe there are many survivalists still left in the competition. (She’s right.)
