Season six of Fox’s The Resident began with an episode that found Padma in distress and Dr. Ian Sullivan working his magic to save her babies. Season six episode two, “Peek and Shriek,” deals with election violence and will air on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT.

Conrad finds common ground with an aggressive patient, helping lead to a diagnosis for his outbursts. Meanwhile, when another patient’s lung collapses, the doctors find a serious root of the issue.
The compelling medical drama The Resident follows the doctors and nurses at Chastain Memorial Park Hospital. They work tirelessly to solve intricate medical cases, stopping at nothing to save their patients while facing challenges in their own lives.

Conrad’s journey continues as he balances his new love life, single fatherhood and saving patients at Chastain. Elsewhere, we’re catapulted into a gripping medical emergency for PADMA DEVI (guest star Aneesha Joshi) and her unborn twins, that will showcase the skills of Chastain’s new top pediatric surgeon, DR. IAN SULLIVAN (McCarthy), as he hides a dark secret surrounding addiction. If Ian’s secret leaks, it can cost him his job and his relationship with his daughter, Cade.
Stepping into fatherhood, we’ll see another side of the “Raptor” or DR. AJ AUSTIN (Warner) as he supports Padma all the way. The power couple DR. DEVON PRAVESH (Dayal) and DR. LEELA DEVI (Joshi) shine as Devon leads his own clinical trials and Leela is appointed Chief Resident. Chastain’s CEO, DR. KIT VOSS (Leeves), feels the stress of running a hospital when resources are low, and a new potential governor threatens to cut Chastain’s funding, all while supporting her love DR. RANDOLPH BELL (Greenwood) through his battle with MS.
This is a season of renewal and transformation for the doctors at Chastain as they step into new phases of their personal and professional lives.
Eli Roth’s contributions to discovery+ and Travel Channel’s 2022 Ghostober programming lineup include Urban Legends and Eli Roth Presents: My Possessed Pet. Roth’s also teaming up with Zak Bagans on the horror film anthology The Haunted Museum: 3 Ring Inferno, a two-hour special premiering on Halloween at 9pm ET/PT.

ABC and Jimmy Kimmel have signed a deal for three additional seasons of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, meaning the late-night show will stick around through season 23. Kimmel has committed to continuing to host and executive producing the series which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in January 2023.
“After two decades at ABC, I am now looking forward to three years of what they call ‘quiet quitting,’” said Kimmel.

The new behind the scenes video from Universal Pictures’ Halloween Ends features Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis talking about the upcoming film as well as her experiences as the star of the horror franchise. “In 1978 I had no idea what the worldwide love and affection for Lori Strode and Michael Myers would be. That is the heart and soul of these Halloween movies,” says Curtis.
Becoming emotional, Curtis adds: “It will be difficult to say goodbye to Lori Strode.”
The minute-long video ends with the crew clapping as Jamie Lee Curtis wraps up her time on a Halloween set.
The cast of what’s described as the final entry in the Halloween franchise also includes Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell, and Kyle Richards. Icon Jamie Lee Curtis returns for the last time as Laurie Strode, horror’s first “final girl” and the role that launched Curtis’ career. The reboot – not remake – of Hellraiser just launched a disturbing trailer complete with the requisite Hellraiser puzzle box and the appearance of Pinhead. The official trailer for the reimagining of Clive Barker’s cult favorite film was accompanied by a new poster featuring Pinhead front and center, as he should be.
Clive Barker produces along with Marc Toberoff, and the 2022 horror film’s executive produced by Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, and Todd Williams. The Night House team of director David Bruckner, screenwriters Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, writer/producer David S. Goyer, and producer Keith Levine reunite for the newest take on Hellraiser.
The horror film debuts on Hulu on October 7, 2022. Odessa A’zion (Grand Army), Jamie Clayton (The L Word: Generation Q), Adam Faison (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks), and Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why) star.
The cast also includes Aoife Hinds (Normal People), Jason Liles (Rampage), Yinka Olorunnife (The Transporter), Selina Lo (Boss Level), Zachary Hing (Halo), Kit Clarke (Leonardo), Goran Visnjic (The Boys), and Hiam Abbass (Succession).
The original film was released on September 18, 1987 and was written and directed by Clive Barker, based on Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart. Hellraiser brought in $4.4 million over its opening weekend and went on to gross $14.5 million worldwide during its theatrical release.

After a crazy, action-packed season six premiere, Paramount+’s SEAL Team episode two picks up with Clay dealing with his devastating injury while the team sets out on another mission. Episode two, “Crawl, Walk, Run,” will stream on Sunday, September 25, 2022 and was directed by series star Jessica Pare from a script by Dana Greenblatt and Leanne Koch.
The cast is led by David Boreanaz as Jason Hayes and includes Max Thieriot as Clay Spenser, Neil Brown Jr as Ray Perry, AJ Buckley as Sonny Quinn, and Toni Trucks as Lisa Davis.
Some SEAL Team fans thought Max Thieriot would be exiting the series after the season six premiere, but for now Thieriot is handling this gig and his new series – Fire Country.
“It’s a juggle, but thankfully we started SEAL Team season six before we started shooting episode two [of Fire Country],” said Thieriot said during the winter TCA panel. “I was able to work it right into the gap in between. It’s been crazy, but life’s crazy and I got a couple kids to throw in there and moving around up to Vancouver to shoot a TV show…I’m young and I can keep up. I like staying busy, so it works for me.”
“Crawl, Walk, Run” Plot: BRAVO is deployed on a high-stakes mission in Russian-controlled territory as Clay battles with his recovery.
SEAL Team is a military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them. Episode six of AMC’s Tales of the Walking Dead, the final episode of season one, opens with a couple standing in the dark. They’re in the woods and eerie screams and creepy whispers can be heard as they take off running.
Daylight arrives and the woman, Idalia (Daniella Pineda), makes note that Maria (a zombie) is still following them. She thinks she knows where they are and may know of a place they can stay, but just for the night. Eric (Danny Ramirez) wonders why they’d only stay one night and Idalia explains the woman who lives there is kind of a healer. She’s into spells and other mystical stuff.
It’s dark by the time they arrive at a gate surrounded by tall walls. Upon entering the house, Idalia hears a woman whispering in Spanish. “And now in the hour of our death. Amen,” the voice says. Idalia looks around but one’s there.
Within the episode’s first few minutes it’s obvious the season will finish up with a haunted house tale.
Weapons drawn, they set off to explore the house. There are candles lit and religious figurines are the home’s primary decorations. Eric and Idalia are convinced they’re alone until they see a woman – La Doña of the episode’s title – in white standing in front of them. They’re still trying to get over the shock of seeing her when she yells at them to leave.
Idalia attempts to convince the elderly woman they won’t hurt her and that they just need a place to stay. The homeowner warns them they cannot stay but has a change of heart when Idalia begins to shed tears and begs in Spanish to stay. Idalia promises they’ll leave in the morning, and the healer takes pity on them and offers the couple food.
After they wash up, the woman asks – for the second time – how Idalia knew where she lived. Idalia insists a woman named Maria who’d been to the house told her before the zombies got her. They were traveling together, and Maria told her she was a healer.
As they eat dinner, Eric asks why she won’t let them stay. He points out that it’s freezing outside, and she has all this space to herself. Since it’s just the two of them, they won’t take up much room.
Idalia wants him to stop and let it go, but Eric refuses. La Doña (Julie Carmen) tells them no, again, and asks them to leave. Eric becomes mad and grabs her, and she begins to choke.
She hits the edge of the table, falls to the ground, and dies. Blood spreads around her dead body.
As Idalia washes La Doña’s blood off, she looks down at her reflection in the water and suddenly sees hands around her throat. She begins to choke but when she glances at the mirror, she’s shocked that the hands have disappeared.
A short while later Idalia attempts to relax by the fire. She’s jumpy but Eric doesn’t seem to care about what just happened. He believes the house is theirs since the woman died, but Idalia’s not on the same page. Just because the woman is dead doesn’t mean they can take her belongings and her house.
After a little persuading, she’s okay with staying there…for now.
While exploring, Idalia moves photos, extinguishes some candles, and lights others on what appears to be set up as a small altar. As she kneels to pray, she hears the deceased La Doña say, “This is my house.”
Eric does his own exploring and hears strange noises. Fortunately, there’s nothing supernatural about their source. La Doña had a parrot and it’s a talkative little creature.
The uninvited squatters sit down to eat again, and Eric makes a bad joke about how the lady didn’t know what was going to happen tonight. Idalia doesn’t find it funny and warns him they need to be careful about what they say because it’s bad energy. Eric doesn’t buy into that at all.
Eric lays down in the woman’s bed, but Idalia is seriously creeped out about sleeping in La Doña’s bed. Eric insists it’s fine. Plus, it’s a real bed – something they don’t come across often in these zombie apocalypse times.
As they’re lying in bed the floorboards begin to creak. Idalia rolls over and sees a woman bent over the bed. Suddenly, the candles go out. As Idalia lights a match she says out loud, “La Doña?”
Idalia wanders around the house and repeatedly says in Spanish, “He didn’t mean any harm.”
She eventually makes her way down into the basement and hears voices. She finds a wall dripping blood and instead of getting the hell out of there, she explores some more. A zombie startles her. (Why don’t characters in horror films/TV shows ever flee when they should?)
Eric inspects the area where Idalia insists she saw a zombie and, of course, there’s nothing there. He thinks maybe she had a bad dream and suggests she rest. (Eric’s sure this is all in her head.)
The next day Idalia’s waking nightmares take a dramatic turn for the worse when the Jesuses on crucifixes come to life and climb down the wall. They jump on her and she tries to swat them off, finally taking refuge in a room where she finds a picture of La Doña.
Completely freaked out – I mean, who wouldn’t be? – she grabs a jacket and tells Eric she feels cooped up like she’s just waiting to be attacked or something. He notices the rosary around her neck and wonders when started believing in God.
She replies, “Since today.”
After Idalia leaves, Eric checks on the parrot and covers its cage. The parrot surprises Eric and says, “Don’t hurt me.” He asks the parrot why it would say that and why would he hurt it, but then becomes frustrated and tells the parrot to be quiet. Before shutting the door to the room, it asks, “What did you do?”
Idalia walks around in the fog outside and hears La Doña say, “This is my land.” Idalia produces her knife as she begins to hear what sounds like zombies. She swings her knife around, blindly, unable to make anything out due to the thick fog.
She has a brief reprieve from her fright and even laughs to herself when she sees a chicken and thinks it must have been the source of the noise. It’s not. La Doña is standing at the top of the stairs and she yells, “Intruder!”
Back inside the house, Eric threatens the parrot because it won’t shut up and Idalia confesses she’s been hearing whispers and sometimes even seeing things. She gets angry at how Eric’s looking at her, and he explains he doesn’t think she’s weird but he does think it’s weird she thinks she’s seeing things.
According to Idalia, it’s weird he’s okay with all of this.
The parrot makes noises again and Eric has had it with the bird.
Idalia wonders if he’s glad the old lady died, assuring him he can tell her the truth. He believes this is their house now, things change, and that’s the end of the story. The parrot makes a noise again and Eric slams his hands down on the table, startling Idalia. After apologizing, he gives in and says they can leave if she wants.
Later that night while trying to be intimate, Idalia thinks Eric bites her and she pushes him off. He’s confused and she inspects her shoulder. There isn’t a bite mark there. Idalia’s done with the house’s shenanigans and starts packing, determined to leave first thing in the morning. If he won’t come with her, she’ll leave by herself.
Eric wakes alone in bed in the middle of the night. The parrot’s making a lot of noise, but now he thinks it’s flying around as it squawks. As walks down the hall, pictures of him and Idalia fly off the wall around him. We see flashes of the couple killing people…actual living human beings, not zombies. The parrot speaks for everyone when it asks, “What did you do?!”
Eric runs into the bathroom but then suddenly comes to, standing in the room with the parrot’s cage. The parrot is dead in his hand. Idalia finds him and can’t believe he killed the bird.
While digging a grave for the parrot, he hears noises at the gate. He sees Maria standing there, looking alive and well and not at all like a zombie. He looks at her legs and sees a bone sticking out of her ankle as she asks him to let her in. Eric refuses, telling her she’s dead.
Maria yells for Idalia and then claims that Idalia did this to her. He begins to open the gate, but Idalia closes it and drags him away. Maria yells, “You both will pay for what you have done!”
Eric insists Maria’s alive, but Idalia knows she’s not. It’s all in his head and he’s hearing things.
Eric grabs his head as if he’s in pain and reminds Idalia that she’s the one hearing things – and now she’s putting things in his head. They argue about who’s crazier and about what they really did to Maria and her friends. Apparently, these two were horrible human beings even before they stole La Dona’s house.
Idalia’s hallucinations accelerate and she hears La Doña claiming the house is still hers and Maria begging for help. She also sees all the people they killed are now zombies in the basement walls.
Idalia comes up from the basement covered in blood and reveals all of their victims are down there. She starts to blame him for their deaths, but he reminds her they did it together to survive.

The house shakes and Eric screams at her that it is just a house and it’s all in her head, demanding that she stop it. Idalia thinks she’s holding a gun and screams back that it’s not her. She looks down and the gun has turned into a glass cross. They run to the window and see La Doña crawling out of the grave they put her in.
The window breaks and finally Eric says they have to leave. (Really?! What’s taken you so long to come to that decision?) As they run around the house, La Doña appears around every corner.
She tosses their bodies simply by pushing her hands toward them. She claims that even in death this house belongs to her. She uses powers to open the door and push them toward it, but Eric and Idalia turn on each other. They blame each other for what’s happening as they somehow end up downstairs, heading toward the zombies.
As they fight, Eric continues to insist this is all in her head.
Lights flash as the killer couple get sucked into the house by the roots of a massive tree. There’s one final flash of lights and then they lie still on the ground, dead.
The camera pans to a portrait of La Doña and her parrot. And that’s a wrap on a very uneven first season.
The team investigates illegal racing on CBS’s NCIS: Hawai’i season two episode two. Directed by Yangzom Brauen from a script by Matt Bosack, episode two – “Blind Curves” – will air on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT.
Season two stars Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant, Alex Tarrant as Kai Holman, Noah Mills as Jesse Boone, and Yasmine Al-Bustami as Lucy Tara. Jason Antoon plays Ernie Malik, Tori Anderson is Kate Whistler, and Kian Talan stars as Alex Tennant.
Guest stars include Seana Kofoed, Derek Phillips, and Anthony Ruivivar.
“Blind Curves” Plot: The NCIS team’s investigation takes them deep into the world of illegal street racing after a Marine staff sergeant’s body is discovered in a junkyard. Also, Tennant is concerned Alex is hiding something from her, and Whistler is anxious about introducing Lucy to her co-workers.

NBC’s Quantum Leap season one episode one does exactly what it needs to do. It introduces the new quantum leaper – Dr. Ben Song played by Raymond Lee (Kevin Can F**k Himself) – while paying respect to the original series that premiered in 1989 and ran for five seasons. It’s an updated sequel that retains much of what made the original series with Scott Bakula so entertaining. There’s the science stuff, of course, but there’s also a healthy mix of heart and humor.
2022’s Quantum Leap is a continuation of the original show and includes multiple references to Dr. Sam Beckett’s (Bakula) disappearance after stepping into the Quantum Leap Accelerator in 1995. Since then, the program’s been revived by the government with a new team attempting to fix what went wrong and successfully jump through time.
And now to the recap of episode one…there are spoilers ahead.
The key players in this reboot are quickly introduced while at a party celebrating key player #1 physicist Dr. Ben Song’s engagement to key player #2 Addison Augustine (Caitlin Bassett). Key player #3 Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee) left her date dangling at the bar while key player #4 Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) attempts to do the DJ’s job for him and then brings up the quantum simulation he ran that morning. There’s a no work talk rule, but Ian doesn’t recall ever agreeing to that.
Key player #5 arrives and turns out to be Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson) – the guy who runs the top-secret time travel project who Jenn introduced to her date as a video game designer. Chuckles ensue.
Ben hates parties, small talk, and public speaking so this is a super uncomfortable situation. Still, he manages to pull off a quick thank you to all the well-wishers. He delivers a science-y take on romance before he’s allowed out of the spotlight.
He steps away to read his texts and, apparently, he’s got to ditch his own party because he’s wanted at the lab ASAP for a time-sensitive mission.
He heads to the lab, slips into a white bodysuit, and steps into a machine. Seconds later, he finds himself at the wheel of a van and listening to David Bowie perform at Live Aid. For all you kids out there too young to have experienced Live Aid live, it was a huge fundraising event for famine relief in Africa.
He’s shocked to discover he has a passenger, and even more surprised to learn this passenger, Ryan (Michael Welch), thinks they’re friends. The anxiety level cranks to 11 when the passenger dons gloves and a ski mask. Is Ben – who Ryan thinks is a man named Nick – a getaway driver? Yes, he is. And his passenger has a gun.
Ben looks in the rearview mirror and it’s the face of a stranger staring back at him. He has no idea what’s going on as he exits the van and sees people waiting in line at a phone booth and a theater marquee advertising The Goonies and St. Elmo’s Fire.
The date: July 13, 1985.
Ben whips out his wallet and learns he’s Nick Rounder from Philadelphia. As he’s attempting to wrap his mind around this, Addison shows up and asks why he made the leap before they were ready. Unfortunately, Ben doesn’t know who she is, where he is, or what the heck a “leap” is.
Memory loss is a side effect and she’s about to explain what’s up when three mask-wearing robbers emerge from a building with a crate. They yell at him to get back in the van as she quickly sums up that she’s a hologram from the future and he time-traveled to the past.
Ben gets back in the van but now there’s a new catch…he can’t drive a stick shift! He talks out loud to Addison who, obviously, no one else can see because she’s a hologram and she walks him through shifting gears while Ryan reminds him the getaway driver’s job is to drive them away from the scene of the crime.
He picks it up quickly while two squad cars fall in behind. He has no idea where to go and Ryan says they’re heading to his restaurant on York. Addison’s able to quickly pull up directions and although Ben leaves a trail of crashed vehicles behind, they make it to the restaurant without dying.
Unfortunately, Ben’s adventure isn’t over. He asks Addison for a more detailed explanation, and she starts to fill in the blanks. Their imaging chamber’s connection is severed before she finishes the explanation.

Back in the lab, Ian explains that before Ben made the leap, he uploaded a lot of new code – basically a new version of the system. They’ve been working hard over the past five years to fix the original code (and here’s our first mention of the original series and Sam Beckett) but they weren’t close to human testing. Yet for some weird reason, Ben magically wrote a new operating system and made a leap.
Addison reveals Ben doesn’t remember anything, but it’s possible he figured out a way to get back.
Oh, and the new AI – Ziggy – is offline. We’re told Ziggy is one of the most powerful A.I.s ever designed.
Ian has no idea why Ben chose to leap but he’s sure he had a good reason. Addison just needs to trust that.
Jenn and Magic join the conversation and Jenn’s discovered the security cameras have been wiped. The Pentagon needs answers, but the truth would lead to the project being shut down.
The imaging chamber’s working again and Addison pops back in time to check on Ben. Ben asks to be beamed up, but Addison says the machine controls the leap – not her. It’s a design flaw from Sam Beckett’s original project. Sam would leap into people, help them out by putting right what once went wrong, and then it would start over again. But Sam never made it home.
Ben needs to help this guy he leaped into while they work on the new code he uploaded. If he helps Nick, maybe he’ll travel back to 2022. She suggests he think of her as his guide. For now, he needs to think of himself as Nick while they work things out.
The crate they stole is full of C4 explosives and Addison thinks he might be there to stop some sort of explosion. The crew, led by a guy named Cole (Michael Malarkey), is pissed at Nick’s driving and they aren’t sure they can trust him. However, Ryan vouches for him – even though Nick’s been talking to himself and acting strange.
He’s warned if he messes up, he’ll be killed.
Back at the lab, Jenn has researched Nick and come up with nothing. However, an explosion went off in front of the Museum of Modern Art on the day of Live Aid. Bingo! The newspapers report they never figured out who caused it, but no one was hurt.
Ziggy gets back online.
Ryan’s wife and young daughter show up out of the blue and she explains they finished dialysis early. (She has no idea her hubby reunited with his old pal Cole and has an explosion planned.) They’re behind on payments but Ryan says by tomorrow their problems will be solved.

Addison and Ben have a quick chat. Ben figures out he’s there to save Ryan’s life, not Nick’s. Research revealed Ryan will be shot dead tonight.
Later, Ben tries to warn Ryan something’s going to go wrong, and he needs to back out of this plan. Ryan can’t – he desperately needs the money.
Ben and Ryan meet with a bad dude named Horace who’s in possession of a fake Hope Diamond. The plan: the explosion will be cover for swapping it out with the real priceless necklace. Horace wants to renegotiate their deal, but Ryan points out Cole’s already paid him. Horace’s goons grab Ryan and Ben comes to the rescue. He speaks Romanian – and several other languages – and translates what he just heard Horace say on the phone. Plus, he claims to know everything about Horace.
Addison gets the hint and asks Jenn for details on Horace. Ben’s able to get under Horace’s skin by revealing he knows about his bank accounts in the Caymans. Horace has no choice but to stick to the original deal.
Back in the lab, Jenn shows Magic a little of the recovered security footage and it’s confirmed Ben was working with someone when he jumped. Footage shows an unknown woman and she’s wearing a ring that means she is or was in the military. Whomever she is, she’s the only person who knows what happened to Ben.
Ryan’s confused about how Nick knew things about Horace and when he learned Romanian. He’s finally willing to listen when Ben warns Ryan he’s going to get shot that very evening and that Cole probably pulls the trigger. Ryan refuses to believe it at first…but he’s stuck. He needs to go through with this to help his wife and daughter.
Ryan and Ben meet with Cole and here comes a big twist – Ben isn’t Nick. Nick doesn’t exist. Ben actually leaped into Matt Shaw, an undercover cop. (That’s why Jenn couldn’t find anything on Nick.)
Ryan had no idea his buddy is a cop, and Cole punches Nick in the stomach. Cole realizes this is why the driver who was supposed to handle this job got arrested, leaving a spot open for Matt/Nick/Ben.
They check Ben for wires and are about to shoot him when he confesses to being a cop. Stealing a diamond is one thing but killing a cop is a whole other problem. A short discussion of options leads to Cole deciding the plan is still on, but now they have a bargaining chip if something goes wrong.
Ben gets locked in a storage room and Ryan’s upset he trusted him. Still, Ben pleads with him to think things through. Cole will kill him tonight since he brought a cop into the crew. Ryan still believes he has no other option and can’t back out now.
Back at the lab, Ian’s upset about this turn of events. The night went from celebrating at an engagement party to not being able to figure out how to get Ben back from the ‘80s. “It’s like a bad mushroom trip that I just can’t sober up from,” says Ian.
Magic suggests he focus his anxiety on bringing Ben home. They all need his full attention and assistance.
Ian’s confused about what’s happening in the ‘80s since the Hope Diamond was never stolen. Magic confesses that’s not true. The one on display in the Smithsonian is a fake, and the DOD has a secret file (labeled Operation Blue Glass) about it. The government decided to cover up the theft rather than pay out the half-billion in insurance money.
They need the specifics on how it was stolen so Ben can stop it. That would save Ryan and maybe then Ben could leap home.
Originally, Cole never learned Nick was a cop. They gave Matt/Nick the slip and Ryan was dead by the time he got to the heist. Matt resigned from the force right after that.
Another hint at their backstory arrives when there’s tension between Ben and Addison. Ben’s apparently very stubborn. Plus, Addison explains she was specifically brought onto this project to be the one who made the leaps. Ben was supposed to be her hologram, not the other way around.
Addison instructs Ben on how to free himself from the plastic cuffs. Ben pauses when Addison tells him to call the cops to stop the robbery because that would mean that Ryan would get arrested. Addison points out at least he’ll still be alive.
Ziggy says there’s a 99% chance Ben will leap if he calls 911 right now. Ben refuses to make the call and Addison begs him to reconsider. Ben apologizes but he can’t let Ryan down.

Ben makes it to the museum wearing a tux and Addison confirms that if Nick/Matt dies, so does he.
The black-tie affair’s in full swing and the Hope Diamond’s in the spotlight.
Addison and Ben walk through the timeline again. The explosion will happen at 8pm, knocking out the grid and the museum’s power. The security room gets sealed and the crew’s able to swap out the diamonds.
It wasn’t until hours later that the museum figured out what happened.
“So, I have 15 minutes to stop the greatest jewel heist no one’s ever heard of in order to save a guy I just met,” says Ben, summing up the situation.
Ben spots one of the crew heading to seal the security door and knocks him out. It hurts his hand – he’s not the sort of guy who normally hits people. Next, he spots Ryan, but Ryan won’t leave.
Ben then dances with the female member of the gang – Charlie (Enajite Esegine) – and he stops her before she can reach for her gun. Cole looks furious but Charlie signals for him to stand down. Ben offers a deal: if they let Ryan walk, he’ll let the crew walk without any retribution.
Ben reveals the security doors aren’t sealed and when the lights go off, 15 guards will stop the heist. Charlie reminds him of the explosion set for 8pm but Ben explains no one will get injured so that’s not really part of the equation.
Charlie quickly changes that. She whips out her gun, fires off a few shots, and the museum guests head for the doors right before the explosion.
Ben realizes he made the situation worse – people are running toward the bomb. He asks for Ryan’s help because Ryan knows the location of the bomb. They head outside and Ryan points out a car. They hurry over with 52 seconds left on the timer. Addison tells Ben how to defuse it, but he has nothing to cut the wires.
Plan B: he picks it up and tosses it into the sewer. He screams “run” seconds before it goes off.
There are a couple of injuries, but no one dies. Ryan thanks his friend and Ben tells him to go home and be with the people he loves. Also, don’t hide things from his loved ones or he’ll regret it.
Addison says the new timeline shows Cole and his gang were arrested, the diamond was recovered, and Ryan cut a deal with the police. After Ryan’s story hit the news, everything changed for the better. His wife’s treatment was taken care of, and Ryan got his restaurant back.
Ben thanks Addison for making him feel safe in these strange circumstances.
Lights swirl around Ben and in the lab they’re hopeful Ziggy’s bringing him back. An internal syntax error pops up on the screen – they’ve lost Ben!
And now we get another tie-in with the original show. Jenn reveals the mystery woman is wearing Al Calavicci’s ring. For those not up on their classic Quantum Leap, Al was Sam Beckett’s A.I. Al is dead so who’s wearing his ring?
Magic figures out the woman is Al’s daughter, Janice. She wanted to follow in his footsteps, but the DOD wouldn’t let her. (Al was played by Dean Stockwell, and the episode is dedicated to his memory.)
Addison returns home and their place is still a mess from the party. Ben left his phone behind and she plays a message meant for her. He apologizes that he had to do this and describes it as bigger than anything she could imagine. He’s doing this because he thinks it’s worth it and it had to be done.
He promises he’ll find his way home.
The episode ends with Ben leaping into an astronaut just as a rocket blasts off.
New episodes of Quantum Leap will air on Mondays at 10pm ET.
Fox’s The Cleaning Lady season two episode one tied up one loose end – and said goodbye to a recurring guest star – while taking away one of the thorns in Thony’s side. Up next, episode two, “Lolo and Lola,” airing on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT. Episode two introduces Naveen Andrews as new series regular Robert Kamdar.
Fox’s official description of Kamdar says he’s “Nadia’s gregarious and charming ex-lover, who is intent on driving a wedge between Arman and Nadia. Standing to lose everything, Arman has to fight to keep his world — and his dignity — intact, while determined to rebuild his life under the worst of circumstances.”
Élodie Yung returns to lead the cast as Thony. Oliver Hudson stars as FBI Agent Garrett Miller, Adan Canto is Arman Morales, and Martha Millan is Fiona. Sean Lew plays Chris, Eva De Dominici is Nadia, Faith Bryant is Jaz, and Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle share time playing Luca.
“Lolo And Lola” Plot: Thony’s in-laws (Fiona’s loving-yet-overbearing father and reserved-yet-strong mother) come to Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Thony must help Arman by meeting with Robert Kamdar (Andrews).
Season two of The Cleaning Lady picks up with THONY (Yung) desperately trying to find her son, LUCA, after he was kidnapped by his father, MARCO (Ivan Shaw). With nowhere else to turn, she enlists the help of FBI Agent GARRETT MILLER (Hudson) to track him down before they leave the country. Meanwhile, an incident involving CHRIS (Lew) forces FIONA (Millan) to shield her son by any means necessary, furthering the theme of how far a mother will go to protect her child.
This season introduces ROBERT KAMDAR (Andrews), NADIA’s (De Dominici) gregarious and charming ex-lover, who is intent on driving a wedge between ARMAN (Canto) and Nadia. Standing to lose everything, Arman must fight to keep his world — and his dignity — intact, while rebuilding his life under the worst of circumstances.
The Cleaning Lady continues to examine the plight of undocumented immigrants and their difficulties accessing necessary healthcare and resources. Galvanized by the many roadblocks she faced while searching for a treatment to save her son, Thony will utilize her expertise as a doctor to find ways to help her underserved community. However, as Thony continues to entwine her business undertakings with Arman, she is dragged further across the moral line and into the dark underbelly of Las Vegas.
