The Avengers: Infinity War Plot: An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
The CW’s Arrow’s portion of the “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover event begins with the gathering of heroes deciding to interrogate their Nazi prisoner. He removes his mask and it’s revealed he’s Thea’s other brother (and Oliver’s best friend), Tommy Merlin. Earth-1’s Tommy died and Oliver (Stephen Amell), stunned to see this Tommy, asks to speak to him alone.
Elsewhere in S.T.A.R. Labs, the group tries to figure out whether these Nazis are anachronisms caused by the Legends screwing with time. Harry (Tom Cavanagh) reveals they’re probably from Earth 53, also known as Earth-X. On that Earth, the Nazis won the war and have taken over the world. These Nazis have now come to this Earth to wipe out the heroes.
Tommy and Oliver discuss the alternate versions of themselves, and Tommy explains they’re all born into the Reich and don’t have any choice about what to do with their lives on Earth-X. Tommy is a true believer and assures Oliver that everyone he cares about will die horribly. He then kills himself before giving up any answers.
Dark Flash (Cavanagh) is at odds with Dark Supergirl aka Overgirl (Melissa Benoist) and Dark Arrow (Amell), as they’re known on Earth-X. It also turns out Overgirl and Dark Arrow are a couple.
Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) explains to Oliver she doesn’t want to be married to anyone. Oliver continues to insist he loves her and wants to marry her. Although Felicity assures Oliver she loves him, she’s adamant she wants to leave their relationship just the way it is now.
Jax (Franz Drameh) and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) have a heart-to-heart, and Jax admits he thinks of Martin as his father. He’s torn up over Dr. Stein leaving #TeamLegends. Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kara also have a heart-to-heart over Alex’s breakup with Maggie. Alex reassures her sister she did the right thing and that if she really wants to have children, she was right in moving on.
Felicity’s also in the mood to reveal her feelings, telling Iris (Candice Patton) that her engagement to Oliver led to her being shot and that was the end of them. She doesn’t want that to happen again. As they talk, they spot the Nazis breaking into Dayton Optical Systems.
Arrow and Supergirl finally come face to face with their evil Earth-X doppelgängers, while The Flash (Grant Gustin) is astonished to see Earth-1’s Eobard Thawne (Cavanagh). With time travel, anything is possible according to Eobard. Overgirl taunts Supergirl, calling her weak, and Dark Arrow says his allegiance is to the fatherland and his wife, indicating Overgirl.
Arrow fires a kryptonite arrow at Overgirl, but she catches it before it does much damage. Still, that causes Supergirl to wonder why Arrow would have a kryptonite arrow in the first place. Dark Arrow and Overgirl send Supergirl off to save civilians, and Arrow hitches a ride with The Flash to help with the rescue. This is all a diversion so that #TeamEarth-X can take the prism they stole from Dayton Optical Systems away.
Felicity, Harry, and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) explain what the prism is and that it can be used to create a stable fusion reaction. That means it can be converted to a neutron bomb. Barry explains to the group that Earth-X’s villains include an evil Kara and an evil Oliver, as well as Eobard Thawne. They need to figure out where the Nazis are hiding and determine they can use Overgirl’s blood off Oliver’s arrow to track her.
Eobard is worried Earth-X’s Oliver will choose his wife over the Reich. Overgirl assures Eobard she’ll make sure Oliver makes the right choice, if and when the time comes.
Barry confesses to Iris that he’s been looking for closure but every time he sees Eobard, he thinks about his mother dying. Oliver interrupts to remind him they’re fighting their way through this together. Barry still thinks Oliver and Felicity are meant to be married. Oliver’s not sure. Of course, that’s when Felicity arrives to say they’ve found the Nazis.
Our heroes suit up and prepare for battle. It’s wall-to-wall Nazis inside the building, but they agree Overgirl has to be taken out of action first.
Felicity, Iris, Harry, and Caitlin man the command center. Mick (Dominic Purcell) is also hanging out there since he didn’t realize the team left to do battle. (He was busy eating.)
The battle’s underway inside the factory with lots of fighting going on between our heroes and the Nazis. However, Dark Arrow is missing from the action. It turns out he’s made his way to S.T.A.R. Labs while the heroes are being kept busy with Nazi soldiers. Overgirl leads the attack.
Mick takes on Dark Arrow and then Killer Frost tries to freeze his arm. #TeamArrow arrives to help, but Dark Arrow proves to be incredibly strong.
Over at the factory, the Nazis are down but Dark Flash and Overgirl are still in the fight. They’ve also got Metallo on their side, leaving our heroes outgunned. They’re taken prisoner, chained to a platform, with restraining collars around their necks. Eobard taunts Barry but Overgirl and Dark Arrow make him stop.
Overgirl’s having a difficult time standing and there’s something causing her an incredible amount of pain. Dark Arrow quietly reminds her they found what they need and it will be over soon. (There’s some real sizzling heat between Dark Arrow and Overgirl.)
It turns out what they need is Kara in order to save Overgirl’s life because she’s been exposed to too much solar radiation. Kara’s heart will save Overgirl. They stole the prism so they could weaken Kara to cut into her. Oliver threatens to kill Dark Arrow, but Dark Arrow knows the heroes won’t hurt them. Metallo zaps the chained-up gang.
The gang wake up to find they’ve been taken to Earth-X and placed in a large cage.
The CW’s Supergirl season three episode eight served as the first part of the four-way superhero crossover event featuring characters from The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, and Supergirl. “Crisis on Earth-X, Part 1” airing November 27, 2017 begins in a lighthearted manner with Legends, Arrow, and Supergirl teams RSVPing for Barry and Iris’ wedding.
Kara’s +1 turns out to be her sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), after the devastating discovery that Mon-El is now married. The women gather for wine and manicures while Barry (Grant Gustin) and his Best Man/mentor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) try on their tuxedos. During the fitting, Barry admits he wants Oliver to follow suit and ask Felicity to marry him. Oliver’s not sure that’s a wise idea.
Meanwhile over at S.T.A.R. Labs, Harry (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) have created a cure – with help from Caitlin (who they don’t credit) – for Firestorm that will return Jax (Franz Drameh) and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) to their normal selves. Neither will have superpowers so Firestorm will no longer exist. Jax looks upset at the possibility he’ll no longer be a member of the Legends.
The rehearsal dinner arrives and everyone mingles, letting their hair down and relaxing a bit. Alex hits it off with Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and there’s some serious flirting going on. Martin tells Jax he’s come up with a formula that’s sort of Spider-Manish, but mostly not. All it will do will let him stick to things, without the webslinger’s other cool powers. But, at least it will allow him to return to the Legends team.
Elsewhere at the party, Kara (Melissa Benoist) tells Barry about Mon-El and how their relationship is over due to the fact Mon-El is married. Barry is sorry to hear about that, but he has a favor to ask of Kara that doesn’t involve donning a superhero suit.
Joe (Jesse L Martin) gives a toast, Sara and Alex make out, and Oliver takes Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) aside to ask her to marry him. She loudly declines the proposal, declaring she doesn’t want to marry him.
The wedding day arrives and everyone looks terrific. Even Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) is on his best behavior – or as close to it as possible. After learning her sister slept with Sara, Kara sings as the bride walks down the aisle. (Backing up a bit, there’s a weird scene with a waitress who seems to know Barry but he doesn’t recognize her. Fans believe she could possibly be Iris and Barry’s daughter from the future.)
The wedding’s interrupted by Nazis, causing all the heroes to express their hatred for white supremacists before shedding their civilian demeanor to switch into superhero mode. Fighting breaks out, The Flash stops bullets from striking his friends and wedding guests, and Harry tries to clear the room. Arrow, Supergirl, and the Legends teams spring into action. Alex and Sara prove to be a killer duo as they beat up Nazis while Supergirl takes on an evil version of herself as Arrow fights his own evil doppelganger. Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is called into the action, as is Vibe.
Our heroes win – for now – and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) is charged with taking Joe (Jesse L Martin) to safety. Mick wipes the memories of all the non-superhero guests. Cisco’s hurt and is out of commission for a while, and they all realize this fight isn’t over yet. However, they have captured one Nazi.
They discuss the purpose of the attack and decide it was to kill all of Earth’s heroes in order to “Make Earth Aryan Again.” They reiterate how much they hate Nazis.
Love, Simon, based on Becky Albertalli’s critically acclaimed bestselling novel Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, is heading to the screen in 2018 and 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first teaser trailer and poster. The coming-of-age love story was adapted by Isaac Aptaker (The Neighbors, This Is Us) and Elizabeth Berger (Grandfathered, This Is Us) and directed by Greg Berlanti. Nick Robinson (Melissa & Joey) takes on the titular character in the groundbreaking gay love story.
In addition to Nick Robinson, Love, Simon‘s cast includes Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse), Jorge Lendeborg (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Miles Heizer (The Stanford Prison Experiment), Keiynan Lonsdale (The Flash), Logan Miller (The Walking Dead), Jennifer Garner (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), Tony Hale (Veep), and Josh Duhamel (Transformers: The Lst Knight). Duhamel also starred in director Greg Berlanti’s 2010 romantic comedy, Life as We Know It.
Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen produced the PG-13 romantic film. 20th Century Fox is planning a March 16, 2018 theatrical release.
Commenting on the film adaptation of her novel, author Becky Albertalli assured her readers the movie is faithful to her book. “It really is,” explained Albertalli on her official website. “I had the opportunity to see an early version of the film, and it blew me away. It’s not a scene-by-scene adaptation of the book (nor would we want it to be), but it’s very similar, and it perfectly captures the heart of Simon’s story. I’m completely in love with this adaptation, and I know my readers will be thrilled with it.”
The Plot: Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year old Simon Spier it’s a little more complicated: he’s yet to tell his family or friends he’s gay and he doesn’t actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Directed by Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek, Brothers & Sisters), Love, Simon is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love.
