Season One Description, Courtesy of CBS:

FBI: International is the third iteration of the successful FBI brand that follows the elite operatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s International Fly Team. Headquartered in Budapest, they travel the world with the mission of tracking and neutralizing threats against American citizens wherever they may be, putting their lives on the line to protect the U.S. and its people.

The Fly Team’s Special Agent Scott Forrester, their accomplished and dedicated leader, puts his missions ahead of his personal life and is rarely seen without the team’s “secret weapon” – their trusty Schutzhund dog, Tank. Second in command is Special Agent Jamie Kellett, not afraid to tussle – in an alley or courtroom – and her extensive network of informants is a powerful resource. Special Agent Andre Raines shines in the field and makes good use of his accounting background in tracking criminal enterprises’ moving money; and the group’s newest member is Special Agent Cameron Vo, a competitive West Point grad who excels at interrogation and strategy.

A key part of the mix is the unflappable Europol Agent Katrin Jaeger, a multilinguistic liaison between the FBI Fly Team and each host country they inhabit. Always at the scene where American interests are at risk, FBI: International is a globe-trotting depiction of law enforcement overseas.

‘Crimes of the Future’ Teaser Trailer is Pure David Cronenberg Creepiness

Visionary filmmaker David Cronenberg (A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, Crash) reunites with Viggo Mortensen for the twisted sci-fi thriller Crimes of the Future. The one-minute trailer for the Neon release sets up the vibe without giving away too much while, at the same time, teasing a bleak future for humans.

Writer/director David Cronenberg described Crimes of the Future as a meditation on human evolution. “Specifically – the ways in which we have had to take control of the process because we have created such powerful environments that did not exist previously. Crimes of the Future is an evolution of things I have done before. Fans will see key references to other scenes and moments from my other films. That’s a continuity of my understanding of technology as connected to the human body. Technology is always an extension of the human body, even when it seems to be very mechanical and non-human. A fist becomes enhanced by a club or a stone that you throw – but ultimately, that club or stone is an extension of some potency that the human body already has.

At this critical junction in human history, one wonders – can the human body evolve to solve problems we have created? Can the human body evolve a process to digest plastics and artificial materials not only as part of a solution to the climate crisis, but also, to grow, thrive, and survive,” stated Cronenberg.

In addition to three-time Oscar nominee Viggo Mortensen, the cast includes Léa Seydoux (No Time to Die), Kristen Stewart (Spencer), Don McKellar (Blindness), Scott Speedman (Grey’s Anatomy), Tanaya Beatty (Yellowstone), Nadia Litz (Big Muddy), Lihi Kornowski (Losing Alice), and Welket Bungué (Berlin Alexanderplatz).

Cronenberg’s behind the scenes team includes editor Christopher Donaldson, production designer Carol Spier, director of photography Douglas Koch, and costume designer Mayou Trikerioti.

The Crimes of the Future Plot, Courtesy of Neon:

In a not-so-distant future, humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. Their biological makeup changed, many humans have adapted to life with “Accelerated Evolution Syndrome” thanks partly to specialized equipment that aids in everything from eating to sleeping.

Beloved performance artist Saul Tenser sleeps in a womb-like bed suspended in mid-air. The OrchidBed, as it’s called, comes complete with software to anticipate, and adjust his every bodily need. The machine even detects the growth of new organs, which Saul’s creative partner Caprice can observe and tattoo in his personal operating theatre. Together, Saul and Caprice have turned the discovery and removal of these new body organs into performance art, via sold-out voyeuristic surgical shows using a sarcophagus-like machine where the surgeries take place.

These human evolutionary changes do not receive universal positivity. Before long, a new secret government entity is established – the National Organ Registry, led by bureaucrats Wippet and Timlin – to discreetly track new organ growths, with particular enthusiasm for Saul’s artistic anomalies.

With increased scrutiny on the syndrome and therefore his art, Saul is forced to consider what would be his most shocking performance of all.

‘The Resident’ Season 5 Episode 19 Preview: “All We Have Is Now”

A patient presents with an unusual disease and Raptor needs to spend more time with his mom on Fox’s The Resident season five episode 19. “All We Have Is Now” will air on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT.

Season five stars Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Hawkins, Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Dr. AJ Austin, Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Randolph Bell, Jane Leeves as Dr. Kit Voss, and Manish Dayal is Dr. Devon Pravesh. Jessica Lucas plays Dr. Billie Sutton, Anuja Joshi is Dr. Leela Devi, and Miles Fowler is Trevor.

“All We Have Is Now” Plot: With Raptor on leave to take care of his mother, the hospital scrambles to stay organized without him. Meanwhile, a camping trip leaves a patient with a fatal disease that none of the doctors have seen before. Then, Bell and Kit devise a plan to help their case with the Medical Board.

The Season 5 Plot, Courtesy of Fox:

Entering its fifth season, The Resident continues to shine a light on the daily heroism of our health care workers. The provocative medical drama follows the doctors and nurses at Chastain Memorial Hospital as they face personal and professional challenges and fight for their patients’ health.

Season four saw a multitude of highs and lows as the heroes at Chastain struggled to overcome the impossible, including the unprecedented and devastating Covid-19 pandemic. Now, in a propulsive and emotional season five, the ante is upped, as the doctors continue to save patients and fight corruption in the healthcare system, this time with a partner. The alliance with Big Pharma that found a cure for sickle cell disease last season proves in season five to be a very sharp double-edged sword.

The season kicks off when a mysterious ransomware attack threatens the hospital, and DR. DEVON PRAVESH (Dayal) and Chastain’s recently appointed CEO, DR. KIT VOSS (Leeves), must make high-stakes, split-second decisions with lives in the balance. Meanwhile, DR. CONRAD HAWKINS (Czuchry) and NURSE PRACTITIONER NICOLETTE NEVIN’s (Emily VanCamp) attempts to navigate parenthood, marriage and work-life balance take a shocking turn when Conrad is forced to make a life-changing choice that will alter the course of their family forever.

After the unwanted arrival of DR. BILLIE SUTTON’s (Lucas) biological son, she is forced to confront her past head-on in hopes of healing. Luckily, she’ll have help with the emergence of a new friendship – and rivalry – with DR. AJ AUSTIN (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), who unknowingly takes an interest in Billie’s son, TREVOR (Fowler). Elsewhere, a wrench is thrown in the plans of DR. LEELA DEVI (Joshi), when an unannounced visitor threatens her new relationship, and DR. RANDOLPH BELL (Greenwood) moves forward with a surprising love interest.

A new wrinkle five episodes into the season will challenge audience expectations and reveal new truths about our characters. Old relationships will be tested, new ones formed, and the emergence of a widespread Medicare fraud scheme ensures Chastain will never be the same.

  • Since the series’ inaugural season, 30 cast & crew babies were born.
  • As far as we know, this is the only TV show that used a toilet as a bong.
  • It is also the only time Jane Fonda has gone through a doggy door.
  • This is the only show where most of the writing staff got arrested. All part of working with Jane Fonda.
  • Mallory’s baby being born into her sweatpants is based on our costume designer Allyson
Fanger’s real-life experience delivering her second child.
  • When shooting in a working hospital during Season 2, Martin Sheen had to be in an elevator with a corpse.

Grace and Frankie Season 7 Plot, Courtesy of Netflix:

Seven years ago, Grace and Frankie’s lives turned upside down when their longtime husbands left them for… each other. Both sparring partners and partners-in-crime, Grace and Frankie formed an unlikely and unbreakable bond as they faced uncertain futures head-on, and hand-in-hand. They’ve laughed together, cried together, done shrooms together, and twice over become successful entrepreneurs together. A history-making 94 episodes later, Grace and Frankie continue to show themselves, their families, and their fans what it means to live life to the fullest, fearlessly and unapologetically.

Here’s to seven seasons of laughs, tears, mood-enhancers, and good vibes. And, as Grace and Frankie would say, f*ck it. This may be their final chapter, but they’re just getting started.

‘Shining Girls’ – Elisabeth Moss Talks About Her New Apple TV+ Series

Shining Girls Star Elisabeth Moss

Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) stars in and executive produces Apple TV+ Shining Girls, a mind-bending crime thriller premiering on April 29, 2022. The eight-episode series is based on Lauren Beukes’ bestselling novel and stars Moss as Chicago Sun-Times archivist Kirby Mazrachi, a woman who has trouble keeping track of even the most basic facts about her life following a horrific attack.

A recent murder stirs memories in Kirby and sends her off down a rabbit hole in pursuit of her attacker.

To say much more than that would be to ruin the experience of watching Shining Girls. The series’ twists and turns demand your full attention; it’s not one you can casually watch while working on your laptop or scanning Twitter on your phone. And even if you turn off your other electronics, it may still be necessary to rewind scenes or even rewatch entire episodes. According to writer, executive producer, and showrunner Silka Luisa (Strange Angel), that was all part of the plan.

“At its heart, it’s a mystery so I think when you’re sort of mapping out a mystery you want to be very methodical on what breadcrumbs you’re placing and what you’re planting to pay off later,” explained Luisa during the 2022 Television Critics Association’s winter press panel. “And so much of the show does live in the details, the different time periods, just working at a newspaper. And so planting all of those little details was really fun and, hopefully, for audiences, it will be fun to go back and re-watch it.”

Elisabeth Moss agreed.

“It was definitely something we said on set a lot where we would be like, ‘Well, the second time they see this it’s going to be really interesting,’” said Moss.

Moss and Luisa were on the same page from the get-go, with Moss crediting Luisa’s scripts with allowing her to figure out how to best approach playing Kirby.

“We first spoke about the script – the first script – almost two years ago now, I think. And it was just an immediate understanding of the tone and the character and the story that she was trying to tell,” explained Moss. “There were very few times when we were on different pages about how Kirby would react to something. And you just kind of get lucky when that happens.”

Moss added: “I do think that what I felt like I wanted to find in her was a human and real and honest approach to the circumstances that she was in. A lot of the conversations that Silka and I, and a lot of the people involved in the show, had in the very beginning were about making things real, about making things feel not a lot of the effects, not a lot of things that felt tricky. We wanted things in-camera. We wanted things to be from Kirby’s point of view. We wanted to feel like it would feel as if it was happening to you. So, I think that was something that we were really trying to focus on a lot throughout the process.”

Shining Girls Elisabeth Moss and Wagner Moura

Narcos’ Wagner Moura stars as Chicago Sun-Times reporter Dan Velazquez. Dan plays an integral role in helping Kirby learn more about her attacker. Prior to the attack Kirby was a budding reporter, and her skills are put to the test as she joins Dan and dives into the investigation of recent murders that resemble her own attack.

“So, with Wag’s character, Dan, what that represents to Kirby and what that represents to the show is – without getting into too much and going too far and spoiling anything – he’s the first person that’s as interested in this as she is. He’s the first person that sees that there are these cold-case murders, that sees that there’s something going on and is just as interested in pursuing it as she is,” offered Moss. “He’s the first person that doesn’t think that she’s crazy. He’s not quite so sure what exactly is going on yet, but he is listening to her. And I think, as a victim of trauma, to be listened to is so important and is so huge. And so that is what Dan brings into Kirby’s world that I think is really important.”

The series takes an honest approach to trauma (albeit with a weird twist), and it was important to both Moss and Luisa that Kirby’s story wasn’t wrapped up with a neat little bow.

“I think that it’s something – an incident like that, Kirby will never be able to move on from, which is the analogy of the show,” said Moss.

“So much of the mythology was built to be that metaphor. Just sort of like when you’re in the aftermath of it, you don’t know if you can trust your own mind. People don’t trust you; people don’t believe what you’re saying,” added Luisa.

Shining Girls stars Elisabeth Moss, Wagner Moura, Jamie Bell, Phillipa Soo, Chris Chalk, Christopher Denham, and Amy Brenneman. The first three episodes will debut on Apple TV+ on April 29, 2022, followed by new episodes on subsequent Fridays.
