Orphan Black‘s Emmy Award-winning star Tatiana Maslany has signed on to the voice cast of CBS All Access’ The Harper House. The digital subscription service also announced Rhea Seehorn, Jason Lee, Ryan Flynn, VyVy Nguyen, Roberta Colindrez, Gabourey Sidibe, and Gary Anthony Williams will lend their voices to season one of the animated series.

Brad Neely created the adult animated comedy which was greenlit by CBS All Access earlier this year. Katie Krentz and Neely executive produce the CBS Eye Animation Productions and 219 Productions series. Titmouse is on board as the animation studio.

CBS All Access is targeting a 2021 premiere.

Plot Details and Character Descriptions, Courtesy of CBS All Access:

The Harper House follows an overconfident female head of a household, as she struggles to regain a higher status for herself and for her family of oddballs, after losing her job and moving from the rich side to the poor side of an Arkansas small town. To save money, they’ve moved into their inherited Victorian fixer-upper, the historic Harper House.

The Harpers:

  • Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) will voice Debbie Harper, the aforementioned breadwinner of the Harper household, who takes pride in being the queen of her home.
  • Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) will voice Freddie Harper, a fretful, stay-at-home, helicopter dad. A neurotic control freak, Freddie runs the home while his wife makes the money, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
  • Tatiana Maslany will voice Ollie Harper, the extroverted, free-spirited daughter. Recklessly optimistic and pretty gullible, Ollie usually has a completely different takeaway than her 11-year-old twin brother, Todd.
  • Newcomer Ryan Flynn (Stupidface) will voice Todd Harper, the smart-ass, intellectual son with a mean potty mouth. Where Ollie shines with people, Todd excels at school and generally only gets along with his family.

The Bradleys:

  • Gabourey Sidibe (Empire) will voice Shauna Bradley, the cunning and resourceful classmate of Ollie and Todd whose family lives across the street from the Harper House. Her confidence and savvy can even be intimidating to the adults in her life.
  • Nyima Funk (Key and Peele) will voice Katrina Bradley, the sarcastic co-owner, with her husband Gbenge, of Bradleys’ Bookshop. Constantly bewildered by her new neighbors, she grows to accept the Harpers and their unique contributions to the north side of town.
  • Gary Anthony Williams (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) will voice Gbenge Bradley, the proud patriarch of the Bradley family, who eventually warms to the Harper family and Freddie’s increasingly desperate attempts to be his friend.

Additional Characters:

  • VyVy Nguyen (Young Sheldon) and Lance Krall (Fameless) will voice mother-son duo Gwen and JimJoe Dang. Gwen owns the Vietnamese market and cafe that the Harpers frequent, while her son JimJoe attends school with the Harper children.
  • Roberta Colindrez (Vida) will voice Tonya Acosta, a carefree yet supportive friend of Debbie’s.
  • Tessa Skara (The Calling) and John “Spud” McConnell (Hap and Leonard) will voice Debbie’s perky Southern-belle sister Brenna and loving father Daddie Dan.
  • Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) will voice, among others, Dr. Morocco, the principal at the Harper children’s school who exhibits a mysterious and odd demeanor that may lead one to believe he lives a potentially criminal private life.
  • Joanna Hausmann (Bill Nye Saves the World) will voice Ms. Gonzalez, a teacher at the Harper children’s school who is fresh out of grad school and eager to employ all of her new teaching methods.

The popular comedy The Last O.G. has been renewed for a fourth season by TBS. Season three reached 20 million viewers, according to the network, and continues to rank as one of cable’s most popular comedies.

“I am so excited that we get to make another season of The Last O.G.,” said series star and executive producer Tracy Morgan. “All I ever want to do is try and bring joy to people which is hard right now but I appreciate that we will have the chance to go back to work and do what we can to make the world a little brighter.”

Oscar-winner Jordan Peele co-created the series and executive produces with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Joel Zadak, Owen Smith, and Steve Ast. Owen Smith will be taking over as showrunner for the just-announced fourth season.

The Last O.G. has become more powerfully poignant with each season while always remaining incredibly funny,” stated Sam Linsky and Adrienne O’Riain, co-heads of scripted original programming for TBS, TNT and truTV. “Tracy Morgan embraces the world with his humor while Owen Smith tackles real-life conversations head-on through hilarity. We can’t wait to see where they take us in season four.”

“I was already a big fan of the show so getting the opportunity to helm this production and work with this amazing cast and crew is a huge honor,” commented Smith. “I’m looking forward to telling stories that humanize Black men in ways that are not just comedic but relevant and real.”

The Plot, Courtesy of TBS:

The Last O.G. follows Tray (Morgan), an ex-con who is shocked to see just how much the world has changed when he is released from a 15-year prison stint. ‘Soul’ New Trailer Plus More Voice Cast Details

A music-loving teacher finds himself in The Great Before in the new trailer for Pixar’s Soul. Disney’s opted for a streaming debut on Disney+ for the family-friendly animated film from co-directors Pete Doctor and Kemp Powers.

Pixar’s also just released new details on the voice cast, including how Jamie Foxx’s got into his character, Joe. “Like Joe, I hear music in everything,” stated Foxx. “When you’re a jazz artist, man, you talk a little different: ‘Hey, cat!’ I got a chance to go to a few jazz fests and meet Herbie Hancock, Chick Correa—hang out with those guys. They have a way of talking, a way of dressing—everything funnels toward their music, toward the jazz.”

Director Docter explained what inspired his work on Soul. “I’ve been so lucky to work with some incredible people and make movies that have been seen around the world,” said Docter. “But I realized that as wonderful as these projects are, there’s more to living than a singular passion—as expressive and fulfilling as that may be. Sometimes the small insignificant things are what it’s really about. This film is about broadening the idea of a singular focus to thinking more widely about what life has to offer and what we have to offer life.”

“We’ve been working on Soul for years, but the film feels timelier now than we ever could have imagined back when we began,” added co-director Kemp Powers. “In a year where everything we know has been turned upside down, we’ve all been forced to find new meaning both in the relationships we have and the small moments that truly make life worth living.”

The voice cast also include Tina Fey as Soul 22, Graham Norton voices spiritual sign twirler Moonwind, and Rachel House is the count-obsessed Terry. Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Wes Studi, Fortune Feimster, and Zenobia Shroff provide the voices of the Counselors. Comedian Donnell Rawlings is Joe’s barber Dez, and June Squibb is Gerel. Phylicia Rashad, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Angela Bassett, and Daveed Diggs also lend their voices to the Pixar film.

Soul will premiere on Disney+ on December 25, 2020.

The Plot:

“What is it that makes you…YOU? Pixar Animation Studios’ Soul introduces Joe Gardner (Foxx) – a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they go to Earth.

Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22 (Fey), who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions.”

‘Swamp Thing’ Season 1 Episode 3: Photos, Plot, and Trailer

Swamp Thing continues its season one run on The CW with episode three, “He Speaks.” Episode three was directed by Deran Serafian from a script by Rob Fresco and will air on October 20, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT.

The season one cast includes Crystal Reed as Dr. Abby Arcane, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, and Derek Mears as Swamp Thing. Henderson Wade plays Matt Cable, Maria Sten is Liz Tremayne, Jeryl Prescott is Madame Xanadu, Jennifer Beals plays Sheriff Lucilia Cable, and Will Patton is Avery Sunderland.

“He Speaks” Plot: STRANGE HAPPENINGS – When her friend and co-worker Harlan (guest star Leonardo Nam) is stricken with the “green flu,” Abby (Reed) searches Alec’s (Bean) lab for a cure, but instead finds the latest supernatural reanimation from the Rot.

Season One Details, Courtesy of The CW:

Something unnatural is happening in the swamps outside Marais, Louisiana. When a mysterious illness strikes the town, CDC investigator (and former Marais native) Dr. Abby Arcane is sent to investigate. At the hospital, she encounters biologist Alec Holland who believes the bizarre illness might be connected to his scientific work in the swamp for powerful businessman Avery Sunderland.

Abby has a history with Avery and Maria Sunderland, who still blames the young Arcane for the tragic death of her daughter years before. But with a deadly swamp-born virus out there, something is wrong in Marais right now. Along with Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Cable, Abby once again crosses paths with Alec, but this time they encounter a terrifying, dark force that’s not only killed intruders but is also taking control of its victims.

At Delroy’s Roadhouse, Abby consults her old friend and local reporter Liz Tremayne who has a lead deep in the swamp. When Alec goes missing after investigating the unnatural experiments deep in the swamp, something else rises in his place: Swamp Thing, a mysterious creature born of the depths of the swamp’s mystical and terrifying secrets. With nature wildly out of balance and coming for the people of Marais, in the end, it may take some Thing from the swamp to save it.
