Netflix used the birth of a penguin to help announce the renewal of Atypical for a third season. The short renewal video shows Sam (played by Keir Gilchrist) excitedly telling his family “it’s hatching” followed by the group gathering around the laptop to watch a penguin egg hatch. A title card reads “Atypical season 3 coming soon” and Sam declares it’s a wonderful day.
A premiere date for season three hasn’t been announced. However, Netflix did confirm season three will consist of 10 half-hour episodes.
The popular series was created by Robia Rashid (How I Met Your Mother, Will & Grace). Rashid also writes and serves as an executive producer along with Academy Award winner Seth Gordon and Mary Rohlich. Dr. Michelle Dean works behind the scenes to “help guide an accurate depiction of autism spectrum disorder” in the series.
Season two starred Keir Gilchrist (United States of Tara), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Michael Rapaport (Justified), Brigette Lundy-Paine (Margot vs. Lily), Amy Okuda (How to Get Away with Murder), Raul Castillo (Looking, Seven Seconds), Nik Dodani (Alex Strangelove), Graham Rogers (Ray Donovan, The Kominsky Method), Fivel Stewart (Hansel & Gretel: Warriors of Witchcraft), Jenna Boyd (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), and Casey Wilson (Happy Endings, Gone Girl). The season three cast has not been confirmed.
The Plot:
“Atypical is a coming of age story that follows Sam (Keir Gilchrist), an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum as he searches for love and independence. While Sam is on his funny and emotional journey of self-discovery, the rest of his family must grapple with change in their own lives as they all struggle with the central theme: what does it really mean to be normal?
Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as his mother, Elsa, who is on her own journey of self-discovery. Michael Rapaport plays his father, Doug. Brigette Lundy-Paine plays Sam’s sister, Casey, and Amy Okuda plays a therapist, Julia.
In season two of the series, which launched in September 2018, Elsa and Doug faced the aftermath of their marriage crisis and Casey tried to adjust to her new school, while Sam prepared for life after graduation.”
The official trailer for season two of Amazon Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel proudly reminds viewers the series snagged eight Emmy Award wins. Amazon also released a season two poster to accompany the unveiling of the critically acclaimed series’ new two-minute trailer.
Season one of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel picked up victories in the Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing (Amy Sherman Palladino), Outstanding Writing (Amy Sherman Palladino), Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Rachel Brosnahan), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Alex Borstein), Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Music Supervision.
Amy Sherman-Palladino created the series and executive produces with Daniel Palladino. The season two cast includes Brosnahan, Borstein, Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, and Kevin Pollak.
In our interview this summer, Brosnahan explained what she finds so relevant about her character. “I think Midge is finding a voice that she didn’t know she had. I think that’s something that everybody can relate to and aspire to in some way. We all hope that we get the opportunity to reinvent ourselves as we grow older, to take new paths and try new things. Midge is someone who lived in a bubble. She’s experiencing things anew for the first time. I think that’s both inspiring and hopefully probably a little bit frustrating for audiences as well. She’s a little bit naive.”
Season two will premiere on December 5 2018.
The Plot:
“After Midge’s triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on her – especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.”
“We never catch him,” says Cisco (Carlos Valdez) to Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) as she tells them everything she knows about the meta serial killer known as Cicada in season five episode three of The CW’s The Flash.
As the episode begins, it’s 2032 and little Nora is giving herself a tour of The Flash museum. She spent time in the section titled “The Hall of Villains” and that’s why in 2018 Nora can tell Team Flash about Cicada. It seems he’s the scariest enemy her father ever went up against because he was never caught. Supergirl, the Legends, and even Green Arrow all tried to stop him but they never did. Cicada’s identity is still a mystery in Nora’s time.
That’s not all, however. Nora traveling back in time and helping Barry to destroy the satellite is messing with the timeline more than anyone thought because Cicada’s meta human killings are happening earlier than they should, and his victims are completely different.
As Team Flash discuss how to catch Cicada quickly, Nora reveals she thinks she knows how to defeat him. Her idea: to bring in a Wells from another Earth to help them. They didn’t do that originally, so she’s convinced it will make all the difference. She suggests Herr Wells which makes Cisco groan, but Team flash is willing to try.
Cisco brings Herr Wells (Tom Cavanagh) but unfortunately he’s too busy to help. Instead, he offers the coordinates of Sherloque Wells, a brilliant detective who can help them.
Sherloque arrives and impresses the team, minus Cisco, with his keen sense of observation. Cisco remains convinced this is a bad idea. Sherloque informs Team Flash, after a much too quick glance at their intel, he knows who Cicada is and here to find him. Not wanting to work with another P.I., Sherloque tells Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) he must stay behind. This works out great for Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) who enlists Ralph to help her talk to her mother about her father’s fake death certificate.
Over at the Central City Library, Cicada researches his new meta-human target…Vibe.
Caitlin and Ralph visit her mom, Dr. Carla Tannhauser (Susan Walters), who doesn’t appreciate Caitlin bringing up her father’s death or the fact she only visits when she needs something. She lies to Caitlin and tells her that her father is dead, warning her not to be obsessed with the past.
Shortly later when Caitlin and Ralph are alone, Ralph admits he thinks Carla was lying. He also reveals he knows how they can get the information they need about Cait’s dad.
Sherloque has sent The Flash and XS to David Hersh’s residence, which is more like a shack, after naming him as Cicada. The Flash and XS enter the shack and Sherloque warns them there will be a booby trap. XS speeds over and deactivates it just as Sherloque informs them the booby trap is a decoy. Multiple additional bombs rise up and just as they’re about to explode, The Flash speeds Nora out of the shack. Father and daughter barely miss being killed by the explosions.
XS apologizes, and The Flash races off and tackles Hersh as he’s trying to make a run for it.
Barry tells Nora that Hersh is anti-government but they didn’t find his lightning-shaped dagger or any evidence of his two victims. Nora’s convinced he’s Cicada and believes they should celebrate his capture.
Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is at home when he’s paid a visit by Cicada who tells the detective he wants him to call Vibe. Joe lies and says he doesn’t know him, and Cicada shows Joe a newspaper photo of Vibe and in the background is Joe. Joe argues that Vibe helps fight evil meta, but that he doesn’t have him on speed dial.
Meanwhile, Ralph and Caitlin break into her mother’s office and find the file on Caitlin’s dad, Thomas. Caitlin starts reminiscing about games and word puzzles they would do together and that her dad let her make up her own elements table and code of things that didn’t exist yet. While looking through the file, Caitlin finds a letter from her father saying goodbye to her. Sad but satisfied she has found the answers she was looking for, Caitlin and Ralph head back to Central City.
Over at S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry shuts down the party telling Nora that Hersh is not Cicada and that the facts prove it. Sherloque continues to insist Hersh is because Hersh is Cicada on 36 different Earths and Sherloque has caught each one.
Cisco realizes Sherloque has played them. He’s also overcharged them a hefty fee as a detective for an easy payday. Team Flash demand the money back, but Sherloque has already spent it on alimony. Nora continues to insist Hersh must be Cicada, convinced they should put him in the pipeline until he talks.
Barry uses his new parenting skills to tell Nora to calm down and put a pause on things. He doesn’t think she’s following the evidence like a CSI would, and if she’s going to act this way she needs to sit this one out. Nora speeds off to pout.
Back at Joe’s, Cicada has him tied up in a chair and threatens his family. Still, Joe refuses to call Vibe. Cicada claims he doesn’t want to hurt a family man but he will if he has to. Cicada uses his lightning dagger to begin to torture Joe.
Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that Nora is just trying to fix her mistake because she feels guilty about it, just like he did when he created Flashpoint.
Barry finds Nora and confesses he knows what she’s going through. However, if she really wants to fix her mistake she needs to slow down and think the problem through to come up with the right solution.
Back at Joe’s, he’s still being tortured by Cicada who compliments him on being able to take so much before warning him he’ll eventually give in. Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) wakes up and comes downstairs to see what’s going on. She’s about to activate the distress signal to Team Flash when Joe nods his head no. This is when the baby cries and Cicada looks over and sees Cecile. She activates the alarm as Joe yells, “No, it’s what he wants!”
Cisco sees the alert and breaches over to Joe’s. Barry also speeds to the rescue. Vibe breaches into the room and Cicada immediately pushes him back through the portal, with both landing in a forest. Barry speeds in and Cecile tells him, “He took Cisco!”
Cisco, powers dampened, is on the run with Cicada hunting him. Iris and Sherloque talk to Cisco through the intercom and Sherloque asks him to describe the trees. Cisco continues running as he describes the forest, and Sherloque notices the crickets in the background. With that information, he’s able to figure out which forest Cisco is in.
The Flash speeds over to save him but when he gets there his powers are dampened. A fistfight breaks out between Cicada and The Flash, and Cicada easily has the upper-hand. Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Nora uses speed time to think through what she should do. She reasons it out and then tells Iris she knows how to help.
XS enters the forest and throws lightning, hitting Cicada which weakens him. Nora gives Vibe a lethal tech device from the pipeline and he throws it at Cicada, but Cicada sends it right back at Vibe. It explodes, and it looks like Vibe has been blasted to death. Cicada returns his attention to The Flash, but he’s interrupted with a message and flies off. (Yes, that’s right, he can fly.)
Barry stumbles over to where Cisco had been standing and is horrified to discover his best friend’s been incinerated. Fortunately, a portal opens and Cisco appears. It turns out Nora helped Cisco fake his own death by using a portable breach device so that Cicada would believe he won.
In a very touching scene, Barry grabs Cisco and hugs him tightly.
Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Sherloque agrees to stay and help Team Flash catch Cicada because he’s intrigued with the mystery of who he may be. And, also, they won’t let him use the breaching device. Iris suggests Nora move in with her and Barry because Sherloque will need the extra room in S.T.A.R. Labs. She agrees.
Caitlin reads her dad’s note and realizes it’s really a cipher. She deciphers it and it discovers the message: “Caitlin come and find me.”
Joe talks to Iris and tells her he thinks Cicada – whoever he is – must be a dad because of the way he kept talking about family.
Speaking of the serial killer, Cicada’s at the hospital visiting his daughter who’s in a coma. Her doctor calls him by his real name, Orlon, and tells him he needs to stop what he’s doing. Cicada refuses.
In the final scene, Nora’s looking for her purse and Sherloque tells her it’s on the table. He asks if her when she helped her dad destroy the satellite and changed the timeline did she act on her own accord or did someone tell her to do it. Nora looks surprised, but Sherloque waves his suggestion off and tells her to enjoy dinner with her family.
The Flash Season 5 Episode 3:
Suspenseful, funny, and at times dark, season five episode three titled “The Death of Vibe” reveals more about the main villain this season as well as the discovery that Caitlin’s dad is alive and has been hoping she would find him for who knows how long.
The stand-out performance goes to Tom Cavanagh who, once again, injects some much-needed humor into the episode as the great detective Sherloque Wells. He steals every scene he’s in as the smart but not-to-be trusted detective who now owes Team Flash for services nowhere near rendered. It’s Cavanagh’s chemistry with the entire cast, and the different personalities of the multiple Wells he portrays, that makes the show that much stronger and more entertaining.
With Vibe playing possum, Caitlin about to begin her quest to find her father, and Nora still keeping secrets from everyone, it looks as though Team Flash is in for a very tough fight.

JD Pardo as EZ Reyes in ‘Mayans M.C.’ season 1 episode 8 (Photo by Prashant Gupta/FX)
FX’s Mayans M.C. season one episode seven produced one game-changing moment after another. Miguel Galindo was placed under arrest, EZ’s deal was nearly revoked, and Coco murdered his mother because he wrongly believed she’d beat up his daughter.
Season one episode eight begins with the follow-up of another surprise twist. Adelita’s father was murdered by the cartel, however before that he was the man pictured with Felipe posing by the severed heads. Adelita wasn’t aware of her father’s past when she confronted Felipe in his home. She mistakenly believed he betrayed her father and gave the cartel his location and that’s how they found him and butchered her family.
Felipe revealed the true story and then took off on a long drive, leaving the box with photos and his paperwork containing his real name and background unlocked on his dining room table. EZ (JD Pardo) finds the box and goes through its contents, piecing together the true story of his father’s life decades ago.
Also in the box is a photo of EZ with Felipe, Angel, and Emily. A flashback shows EZ beating himself up about not seeing the license plate of the car his mother’s killer was driving.
Three minutes into the episode and we have our first dramatic confrontation. Felipe (Edward James Olmos) enters a church where his old friend, Father Rodrigo, preaches. Rodrigo was once a good friend and is the person Felipe suspects actually betrayed Adelita’s father.
Meanwhile, Coco (Richard Cabral) tidies up his mother’s dead body. He ignores a call from Letty as he goes about his work.
Another twist in episode seven was the revelation Riz (Antonio Jaramillo) knew about the tunnel outside of Vicky’s whorehouse. He explains the tunnel’s how his grandfather brought family in from Mexico. Now, Vicky uses it to help her girls. The club’s pissed Riz kept this a secret, believing that if any outsider found it it would have rained hell down on the Mayans.
Over at the Galindo house, the DEA is methodically going through potential evidence. Emily (Sarah Bolger) wasn’t arrested and cradles her baby as she watches the officers. An officer appears sympathetic about the baby’s kidnapping, and when Emily admits it was difficult to handle, she’s placed under arrest for failing to report a child abduction.
Once more to the church we go and Felipe is sitting down for a chat with Rodrigo. Felipe confesses he’s there to pay off a debt. He brings up his old partner, Pedro, and Rodrigo admits he set him up with a new identity when he wanted out of working for the cartel. Felipe explains Pedro and his family were murdered, with the exception of Adelita.
Felipe drops the bomb that Adelita visited him and then advises the priest he needs to make sure his security team’s ready when Adelita comes for him. Felipe reminds him neither he nor Pedro would have ever betrayed him. “You saved my life. Now we’re even,” says Felipe as he leaves the man who was once his friend to stew over his impending death.
EZ returns to the clubhouse and immediately Letty (Emily Tosta) joins him to admit she lied and Celia didn’t hurt her. EZ knows Coco probably already did something to his mother but agrees to go check on Celia to make Letty feel better.
Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino) is in custody and repeatedly asks for his lawyer once Asst U.S. Attorney Lincoln Potter (Ray McKinnon) sits down for a chat. Potter apologizes on behalf of Uncle Sam for Miguel’s treatment at the border. He then ticks off Miguel’s history including the fact he’s an Ivy League-educated cartel boss. Potter admits Homeland Security laws allow him to hold Miguel as long as he wants without granting him a visit with his lawyer.
Potter’s working all angles to get under Miguel’s skin, and he opens the room’s door just as Emily’s being walked down the hall in handcuffs.
Back with the Prospect, EZ makes it to Celia’s and Coco’s still there. Celia’s laid out on the floor, head propped up on pillows but obviously dead. EZ, now unsure of the correct move, sits on the floor next to her dead body. Coco suddenly realizes this must remind EZ of his mom’s murder. Coco then waxes philosophic, saying he freed his mother and gave her peace. He believes they’re all where they’re supposed to be. (Coco is a very Zen dude for being a drug-running murderer.)
As they’re talking, Angel (Clayton Cardenas) calls to find out their location. Angel informs his little bro they’re about to have a sit-down and Coco’s needed back at the table.
Coco plans to bury his mother in the desert later that night.
Elsewhere, Agent Kevin Jimenez (Maurice Compte) is told it’s possible the DOJ, Homeland Security, or the DEA will reveal EZ’s deal to either Miguel or Emily.
Next up it’s Emily’s turn to meet with Potter. Emily’s smart and knows that neither she nor Miguel has been charged which must mean the authorities want something. Potter cuts to the chase and, shockingly, he wants the same thing out of Miguel that Adelita requested. He wants to work with him. “The devil you know…,” says Potter. He informs Emily they want to partner with Miguel.
Back to Miguel goes Potter, and this time he tells him the story of how seven years ago (during Sons of Anarchy!) he was this|close to busting a major arms dealer. His work was halted because the CIA needed the guns to continue to flow to the Galindo cartel.
Miguel realizes Potter wants to make a similar deal to the one his father made with the CIA. However, Miguel also realizes Potter doesn’t know Adelita and her rebels are attempting to make the same sort of deal. Miguel reminds Potter the CIA’s deal threatened everything and everyone associated with his father. They also led to his father’s early death.
Miguel’s answer to Potter’s deal offer: “F*ck you. Charge me or release me.”
Over at Celia’s place, EZ’s now alone with her dead body. He has another flashback to the day his mother died, recalling the Wildcats sticker that was in the car’s window. In the flashback, he waits in his truck outside a bar where the car with the sticker is parked. He follows the driver once he returns to his car.
His flashback’s interrupted by Letty pounding on the apartment door. He doesn’t let her in. Celia stinks and EZ barely opens the door as he steps outside, claiming the smell that wafts with him into the hallway is because he just used the toilet. Letty’s okay with staying in the hallway as EZ tells her Coco wants her back at the scrapyard.
Potter returns to Emily and long story short, she says she’ll never turn on her husband. As they’re talking, Kevin Jimenez can be heard yelling nearby.
Potter joins Jimenez and a few agents as Jimenez expresses his anger over the handling of EZ. Jimenez can’t believe what’s going down and leaves, threatening to expose everything via Wikileaks or the Washington Post.
Once Jimenez is out of sight, Potter says he’s taking over handling this particular problem. (That can’t be good news for EZ.)
Felipe’s returned home to find the target of Potter’s anger on his front porch. Minutes later, Felipe calls EZ and warns him not to return to the clubhouse. Instead, he needs to come home.
Meanwhile at the clubhouse, the club gathers around the table. The discussion is all about Riz and the tunnel. The Mayans feel betrayed and it’s suggested Riz lose his job as the club’s secretary. Plus, the club will get 10% of the revenue from the tunnel including the money earned by Vicky’s whores. Riz protests that it’s not his money but that doesn’t matter. The club gets its 10% or they’ll shut down Vicky’s place.
A vote’s taken and it’s a unanimous decision.
Outside after the vote, Angel’s guys are pissed he turned in Riz. He explains he did so to keep Coco out of the line of fire, but Coco doesn’t accept that. He knows Angel did it to protect himself. Riz also confronts Angel, calling him a b*tch for ratting him out. Coco steps up and protects Angel, saying they all went to Bishop with their discovery.
Riz calls them pussies and spits in their direction as he walks away.
EZ returns home and learns from Agent Jimenez the information he’s been providing on Galindo will just be used as leverage. EZ realizes his deal is up. However, that’s not the worst of the news. Jimenez knows that if EZ’s picked up, the DEA will kill him rather than lock him up. Jimenez believes the only option is to adopt a new identity and run.
EZ refuses to run, realizing that if he does Angel will be killed by the club. They’ll assume Angel’s part of the deal. When Felipe asks what EZ has planned, EZ replies, “Protect our blood.”
Simultaneous to EZ’s talk, Potter hands a folder of reports to Emily. She asks who provided the info, and Potter hints it’s someone they know and love. She still refuses to turn on her husband, so Potter shows her a disturbing photo and promises her baby will end up in Family Services’ custody. The photo proves time spent by a baby in Family Services’ custody will be extremely unhealthy for the child’s welfare.
Potter promises her son will be with them until “the clown leaves the party.”
It’s Miguel’s turn for a visit and Potter has a massive binder with the deal he’s proposing. Basically, Miguel will remain in charge of Sonora and the East Cali border, plus they’ll supply manpower and guns to crush the rebels. And, Miguel will get the approval to build the Santa Padre development which had been halted due to environmental issues.
Miguel doesn’t respond, so Potter shows him live video of Emily in a different room. She’s obviously upset, and Potter says it’s because she knows they can take her baby if they move forward with the unreported kidnapping charge.
Miguel starts to protest and Potter finally loses it. “Wake the f*ck up!” yells Potter. He then explains the other folder Emily’s holding contains enough information on him to put him in jail. Emily has to choose: her man or her child.
Potter tells Miguel he has five minutes to look through the agreement. If he doesn’t sign, then Emily will decide his fate.
Potter leaves and Miguel looks at a few pages of the paperwork. He signs his name after only a brief hesitation.
In the other room, Emily’s reading the redacted reports based on EZ’s information provided to Agent Jimenez. She realizes it’s EZ who provided the info and she says out loud to herself, “What are you doing, EZ?”
As she’s reading she’s told she can finally see her lawyer.

Over at the clubhouse, another meeting is called. A discussion’s held regarding Miguel and the DEA. Marcus (Emilio Rivera) reports Devante told him they even brought in Emily and she’s rattled. Apparently, she told Devante what Marcus describes as “some very disturbing sh*t.”
The meeting’s underway as EZ rolls into the lot. Chucky informs him everyone’s in a meeting now, and he reports Letty talked to Coco for quite a while. (Chucky means well but doesn’t know when to remain quiet.)
Nervous and prepared for a confrontation, EZ heads into the clubhouse while the rest of the members are still in the meeting.
Inside the meeting, something big was revealed while the Mayans M.C. writers were showing us EZ’s arrival. (Damn you and your sly teasing ways!)
Bishop tells the club he’ll set things up, and it’s suggested whatever’s going down will go down in a private room at the casino. It’s neutral ground.
Marcus asks Angel where the Prospect is, and Angel’s told to find him.
The club emerges from the meeting and although EZ assumes he’s about to be attacked, he’s told to go fix Marcus’ bike which is leaking oil. He doesn’t do a good job of hiding his nervousness and after he walks away, Bishop says, “He’s walking that fine line between genius and just f*cking weird.”
EZ calls his dad to check in, letting him know it’s all good, so far. When Felipe hangs up, Kevin Jimenez is relieved to hear EZ wasn’t compromised. Felipe explains Angel said the Feds cut Galindo loose, and Jimenez admits he’s not sure if that means EZ’s deal is still in play. If it is, Jimenez will no longer be his handler. Jimenez tells Felipe to take care of himself and takes off.
Once more to the clubhouse and Angel’s in a cage fighting Riz. Both men are bloody and the club cheers them on. Who has the upper hand switches up repeatedly, and finally Bishop gives the order to end the fight. Riz and Angel hug it out, barely keeping their legs under them.
Emily and Miguel prepare to return home and Miguel asks her about the intel Potter showed her. She lies and claims none of it was real. Miguel replies, “Because they have nothing.” She refuses Miguel’s apology for putting her through this trauma, pointing out they’re in this together and to hell with the Feds. (My least favorite character has redeemed herself.)
Emily’s pissed the Feds forced them into a deal, but Miguel swears he’s not letting them do to him what they did to his father. Plus, they don’t know about his secret arrangement with Adelita and the rebels. He’s planning on playing the Feds.
Emily didn’t give away EZ’s secret but he’s not in the clear yet. As Miguel and Emily drive away, Potter looks through EZ’s deal.
Over at the clubhouse, Angel and his guys are in a good mood. However, the mood shifts to serious mode when they talk about the upcoming sit-down with Galindo in neutral territory. They assume there’s a third party involved who needs to feel safe. Angel says he’ll call Adelita and give her a heads up.
Talk turns to burying Celia in the desert and EZ knows he’s the one who’s going to have to dig the hole. They joke about the hole’s shape and Coco suggests they make it look like a large penis. “It’ll be a nice change, her being inside one instead of one being inside her,” explains Coco, adding, “What? Too soon?” (He’s showing no guilt or remorse for murdering his mother.)
Catching up with Father Rodrigo, it appears he’s called in help from the Galindo cartel. Miguel’s right-hand man, Nestor (Gino Vento), meets with Rodrigo who promises he can deliver Adelita to the cartel. The Father obviously has no idea about the new relationship between Miguel and Adelita.
EZ and Angel hit the road with a very ripe Celia in the trunk of their car. The police pull them over not far from the club, and it turns out one of the two cops pulling them over is their friend/frequent Vicky’s whorehouse patron, Officer Franky Rogan (Edwin Hodge). He tries to tell his partner to chill out, but the white cop demands Angel and EZ step out of the car. Franky whispers to Angel and EZ to just go through the motions right now…and of course Franky’s partner finds Celia in the trunk.
The situation quickly escalates from a broken taillight to possible murder.
Fox has set a January 14, 2019 premiere date for season one of The Passage. The midseason series is based on the bestselling book trilogy by Justin Cronin and was adapted by Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights).
In addition to announcing the official premiere date, Fox released a new minute and a half preview of season one.
The cast of Fox’s primetime action drama includes Saniyya Sidney (Fences, Hidden Figures) and Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Pitch). Jamie McShane (Bosch, Bloodline, Sons of Anarchy), Caroline Chikezie (The Shannara Chronicles), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage, Murder in the First), Brianne Howey (The Exorcist), McKinley Belcher III (Ozark, Mercy Street), Henry Ian Cusick (The 100), and Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire, Rescue Me) also star in season one.
The behind the scenes team includes Emmy Award winner and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Ridley Scott (The Martian, Gladiator) and writer/director Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield) as executive producers. Liz Heldens, David W. Zucker, Adam Kassan, and Jason Ensler also executive produce. The pilot was directed by Marcos Siega and Jason Ensler.
The Passage focuses on Project NOAH, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. When a young girl, Amy Bellafonte (Sidney), is chosen to be a test subject, Federal Agent Brad Wolgast (Gosselaar) is the man who is tasked with bringing her to Project NOAH. Ultimately, however, Wolgast becomes her surrogate father, trying to protect her at any cost.
Brad and Amy’s journey will force them to confront Project NOAH’s lead scientists, Major Nichole Sykes (Chikezie) and Dr. Jonas Lear (Cusick), as well as the hardened former Navy Operative Clark Richards (Piazza), whom Brad trained. It likewise brings them face-to-face with a dangerous new race of beings confined within the walls of Project NOAH, including former scientist Tim Fanning (McShane) and death-row inmates Shauna Babcock (Howey) and Anthony Carter (Belcher). In seeking out any allies he can find, Brad also turns to his former wife, Dr. Lila Kyle (Chriqui), for help.
But as Project NOAH’s scientists hone in on a cure that could save humanity, these new beings begin to test their own powers, inching one step closer to an escape that could lead to an unimaginable apocalypse.

A sequel to the 2016 horror film The Boy is in the works and it has Katie Holmes attached to star. The Boy 2 brings back the first film’s director, William Brent Bell, as well the 2016 movie’s writer, Stacey Menear.
Filming on the STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment horror thriller is expected to begin on January 14, 2019. Shooting will take place in Victoria, British Columbia.
Katie Holmes is no stranger to the horror genre. Earlier in her career she starred in Disturbing Behavior and Teaching Mrs. Tingle. In 2010, Holmes took on one of the lead roles in the remake of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, written and produced by Guillermo del Toro. Her recent credits include Logan Lucky, Ray Donovan, and playing Jacqueline Kennedy in The Kennedys as well as The Kennedys After Camelot.
“Following the success of The Boy, we are thrilled to be working on the next chapter of this chilling Brahms story with Stacey and William. We are also delighted to be continuing our relationship with STX, on this, our third partnership,” stated Lakeshore’s Gary Lucchesi.
The original The Boy starred The Walking Dead‘s Lauren Cohan and The Man in the High Castle‘s Rupert Evans. Made on a budget of $15 million-ish, the creepy horror film wound up grossing $68 million before exiting theaters.
The Boy 2 has Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, and Eric Reid on board as producers. Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa, and Roy Lee are also attached to produce.
The Boy 2 Plot:
“Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.”
The CW’s Supernatural season 14 episode two may have found Michael giving Dean back his body…or it might have been a trap for Sam and the rest of #TeamWinchester. The episode also featured Cas playing babysitter to Jack and Nick, with Jack spinning something Cas said into an impromptu visit with his mom’s parents. He doesn’t let on that he’s their grandson, but he does give the really lovely couple as much of an update as he can on their daughter without coming completely clean. He leaves them hopeful that Kelly is living her best life. (Obviously, she’s not but no need to ruin these innocent people’s lives with the truth.)
The episode also revealed Nick was taken over by Lucifer following the murder of his family. Nick’s overcome with grief and anger when he learns the killer was never caught. In a blink-of-an-eye moment, Nick snaps his fingers at Cas the way Lucifer used to do. Nick might be free of Lucifer, but there’s definitely some lasting effects that we can assume will come into play in later episodes.
As for Michael, he’s apparently busy experimenting on supernatural creatures. His goal isn’t completely clear, but it appears he’s attempting to build an unstoppable army.
Up next, season 14 episode three titled “The Scar.” Directed by Robert Singer from a script by Robert Berens, episode three is set to air on October 25, 2018.
The season 14 cast includes Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester, Misha Collins as Castiel, Alexander Calvert as Jack, and Samantha Smith as Mary Winchester. Mark Pellegrino is Nick, Jim Beaver plays Bobby Singer, and Danneel Ackles is Anael.
“The Scar” Plot: KIM RHODES RETURNS AS SHERIFF JODY MILLS – Still trying to solve the mystery of what happened to Dean (Ackles), Sam (Padalecki) enlists the help of Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) who may unknowingly already be on the case. Castiel (Collins) continues to be a father figure to Jack (Calvert), who surprises even himself, when a life is on the line.
