‘Bulletproof’ Season 2 Episode 6 Preview: Photos and Plot Details

Bishop and Pike are thrown for a loop with the unveiling of their real identities on season two episode six of The CW’s Bulletproof. Episode six was directed by Dominic LeClerc from a script Jerome Bucchan-Nelson and will air on July 15, 2020.

The season two cast is led by Noel Clarke as Bishop and Ashley Walters as Pike. The cast also includes Lee Ross as Richard Cockridge, Jason Maza as Officer Chris Munroe, Lindsey Coulson as Sarah Tanner, David Elliot as Tim’ Jonsey’ Jones, Olivia Chenery as Scarlett ‘Scooch’ Hailton, and Luci Shorthouse as Paige Pennington.

“Episode 6” Plot: CAN WE GO BACK TO YESTERDAY – Bishop (Clarke) and Pike’s (Walters) real identities are revealed, which has far-reaching consequences for the Unit. With the clock firmly against them, Tanner (Coulson) must go head to head with Eleanor (Gina Bellman) in a battle of wills.

Meanwhile, Bishop and Pike brave the unforgiving countryside in a desperate attempt to stay alive. A shocking climax leaves one of the Unit dead and the rest shattered.

Series Description, Courtesy of The CW:

Bulletproof is an action-packed, cop drama that unites big, emotional stories with blood-pumping stunt sequences, as it follows two undercover cops who are best friends and bonded by the same moral code, despite their very different backgrounds.

Adrenalin-fueled and packed with compelling characters, Bulletproof follows partners Bishop (Clarke) and Pike (Walters) as they chase down hardened criminals in London’s East End. The series is both high-octane action and thrilling cases. On the surface, Bishop and Pike have a lot in common, they are cool, smart, unapologetically street-wise and tough; they share a deep, fraternal relationship and are always there for each other. Their personal motivations and emotional lives outside the police force differ, Pike is an aspirational family man, the son of a decorated police officer, determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, but not in his shadow. Bishop on the other hand, who never knew his father, grew up in foster care and on the streets.

Full of grit and sometimes gloss, Bulletproof is stylish and funny with riveting criminal cases in each episode, which feed into a bigger, season-long mystery. At its heart though, it is a series about the meaning of family, as well as the fascinating relationship between best friends.

The Van Helsing virtual panel will take place on Thursday, July 23rd at 5pm PT. The panel will be accessible via the San Diego Comic-Con’s official YouTube Channel.

Syfy has not set a premiere date for the 13-episode final season, however they’re targeting a fall premiere. The series is the first TV drama to get production back underway in Canada following the coronavirus shutdown.

The Plot:

Van Helsing is a total re-imagination of a timeless brand, set in a world dominated and controlled by vampires. In its final season, Vanessa, Violet, and Jack will risk it all to finally bring an end to the Dark One once and for all. The Van Helsings must figure out ways to escape and evade the various obstacles in their path to prevent them from their mission, leading to an epic final showdown between the Van Helsings and the Dark One.”

‘Batwoman’ Breaks Another Barrier as Javicia Leslie Takes Over the Lead

The question of who would don the cape and cowl to take over the titular character on The CW’s Batwoman has been answered. Javicia Leslie (God Friended Me, The Family Business) has been cast as Batwoman for season two of the comic book-inspired series, as just announced by Warner Bros. Television, The CW, and Berlanti Productions.

Season two of Batwoman will mark the first time in history the character will be portrayed by a Black actress in either a live-action television series or feature film.

“I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community,” said Javicia Leslie.

In addition to announcing the new lead, The CW released a description of Javicia Leslie’s new character, Ryan Wilder:

“Ryan Wilder is about to become Batwoman. She’s likable, messy, a little goofy and untamed. She’s also nothing like Kate Kane, the woman who wore the Batsuit before her. With no one in her life to keep her on track, Ryan spent years as a drug-runner, dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. Today Ryan lives in her van with her plant. A girl who would steal milk for an alley cat and could also kill you with her bare hands, Ryan is the most dangerous type of fighter: highly skilled and wildly undisciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible. And very much not your stereotypical all-American hero.”

Batwoman fans will be introduced to Leslie as Ryan Wilder when the series returns for season two in January 2021. Episodes will air on Sundays at 8pm ET/PT.

Season one of the action series made history when it cast Ruby Rose, making Batwoman the first scripted live-action series to feature a lesbian superhero in the lead role. Rose stepped down from the series in May 2020 after playing Kate Kane/Batwoman for 20 episodes.

Rose reacted to the news of Leslie’s casting by posting a congratulatory note on Instagram:

“OMG!! This is amazing!! I am so glad Batwoman will be played by an amazing Black woman. ❤️ I want to congratulate Javicia Leslie on taking over the bat cape. You are walking into an amazing cast and crew. I can’t wait to watch season 2 you are going to be amazing !!”

Batwoman was developed for TV by Caroline Dries. Dries, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns served as season one executive producers.

‘Halloween Kills’ Moves to October 2021 and Unveils a Teaser Video

Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode screams, “Let it burn!” in the 30 second teaser trailer for the Halloween (2018) sequel, Halloween Kills. The new video arrived along with news of a new 2021 theatrical release date.

Fans of the iconic horror film franchise can now expect to jump out of their seats on October 15, 2021 rather than in October 2020. Executive producer John Carpenter and writer/director David Gordon Green issued a joint statement explaining the decision to bump Halloween Kills back a year:

“We write this to you heartbroken over the fact that the delay of our film is even a discussion, but if there’s one thing that a career in the film industry has prepared us for, it is the unexpected. Over the past few weeks, our film family has looked at the forecast of theatrical exhibition with obvious concern. We have discussed and struggled with how best to present Halloween Kills to the loyal fans around the world, as well as the new audience we hope to invite to this experience.

It was a wild and vibrant production. We lined up a cast of legacy characters like Laurie and Tommy, Lindsey, Lonnie, Marion, Brackett and The Shape, then alongside some new faces, we aggressively made the second chapter of our Halloween trilogy. It unfolded into an experience that was a creative playground and we feel confident that our misfit pleasures will be seen as an unexpected entry into this franchise.

If we release it in October of this year as planned, we have to face the reality that the film would be consumed in a compromised theatrical experience. After weighing our options, we have chosen to push the film’s theatrical release by one year.

On top of a traditional release, Universal has agreed to an IMAX presentation of the film in October 2021. We are sound mixing with one of the greatest design teams that can slash, scream and creep their way under your skin. We’re going to have time to complete the film with the quality that fans deserve. And preparation on Halloween Ends has begun as well.

It is an honor to be working with these characters and spending time in Haddonfield. We look forward to sharing our next chapters with you.”

In addition to Jamie Lee Curtis, the cast of the now-2021 horror film includes Judy Greer as Karen, Andi Matichak as Allyson, and Dylan Arnold as Cameron Elam, with James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle as The Shape/Michael Myers. Anthony Michael Hall and Kyle Richards join the franchise as grown-up versions of the kids Laurie was babysitting in the original Halloween film – Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace. (Richards also played the original character in the 1978 film.)

‘Life In A Day 2020’ Wants You to Film Yourself on July 25th

Life in a Day 2020

Executive producer Ridley Scott and director Kevin Macdonald are reuniting for Life In A Day 2020. YouTube Originals announced Scott, Macdonald, and executive producer Kai Hsuing are revisiting the concept first utilized in Life In A Day, requesting ordinary people from across the globe film themselves on Saturday, July 25th.

The original documentary was a collection of videos shot by people around the world on July 24, 2010. More than 80,000 videos were submitted resulting in a documentary considered “one of the biggest participatory feature film projects ever made.”

Life In A Day is currently available on YouTube.

“Making the first Life In A Day was one of the most joyful and eye-opening experiences of my life. Contributors were generous enough to share often quite intimate moments from their lives as part of a huge, life-affirming, film-making experiment,” said director Kevin Macdonald. “I am thrilled, ten years later, that we are making Life In A Day 2020. In that time, how have we changed? How has our relationship to filming ourselves changed? And at this extraordinary turning point in history what are we hoping for in our future?”

Life In A Day 2020 will premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube.

“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with YouTube again, a decade after Life In A Day premiered and captivated audiences at our festival,” said Tabitha Jackson, Director of the Sundance Film Festival. “Given the extraordinary current moment, I think it’s the perfect time to premiere this for a new edition of a work that so powerfully demonstrates the power of cinematic storytelling to reveal and celebrate our shared humanity.”

“Following the success of the 2010 documentary, this is an important moment to revisit this inventive film concept with Ridley and Kevin,” said Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content for YouTube. “This project truly demonstrates the uniqueness of YouTube by showcasing the power of the human experience told through the eyes and cameras of individuals around the world.”

Details on Submitting Videos, Courtesy of YouTube Originals:

Ten years after YouTube’s groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed Life In A Day, and at an unprecedented moment in time, the renewed participation-based project asks the world to share what one day looks like through their personal camera lenses. On July 25, 2020, everyone is invited to capture and reflect the reality of our world over a 24-hour period. All footage must be filmed on July 25th only; participants will then have until August 2nd to upload their content to be considered for the final film.

Additional information and guidelines on participation can be found at lifeinaday.youtube.

Once submissions close, a 30-person team of multilingual reviewers stationed around the world will begin reviewing and translating submitted videos. The film’s three principal editors – Mdhamiri Á Nkemi (Blue Story, The Last Tree), Sam Rice-Edwards (Whitney), and Nse Asuquo (The Stuart Hall Project, The Jazz Ambassadors) – will then undertake an enormous post-production effort, working alongside director Kevin Macdonald to shape the film’s final narrative out of submitted footage.

‘I Used to Go Here’ Trailer Finds Gillian Jacobs Heading Back to College

Gillian Jacobs (Community) stars as a writer who returns to her old college and reunites with her former college professor Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) in I Used to Go Here, a SXSW selection that’s just released an official trailer. Kris Rey (Unexpected) wrote and directed the comedy which will be released in theaters and On Demand on August 7, 2020.

The cast of the Gravitas Ventures release also includes Hannah Marks (Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency), Kate Micucci (Gunfunkel and Oates), Jorma Taccone (Girls), Josh Wiggins (Giant Little Ones), and Forrest Goodluck (The Miseducation of Cameron Post). Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone – collectively known as The Lonely Island – served as producers.

The Plot:

“Following the lackluster launch of her debut novel, 35-year-old writer Kate Conklin (Jacobs) receives a welcome invitation from her former professor and old crush (Clement) to speak at her alma mater. With her book tour canceled and her ego deflated, Kate hopes that returning to her old college as a published author will give her the morale boost she sorely needs. Instead, she falls into a comical regression—from misadventures with eccentric twenty-year-olds to feelings of jealousy toward her former professor’s new favorite student.

Bittersweet emotion and awkward humor abound as Kate journeys through her past to redefine her future in this big-hearted fourth feature from writer/director Kris Rey.”

‘The Boys’ Season 2 Unveils a Super Teaser Trailer

I don’t know about you but I’m so ready for a new season of The Boys. Amazon Prime Video just dropped the teaser trailer for season two of the twisted superhero series and it’s all that plus a bag of deliciously gory chips.

Season two will launch to Amazon Prime subscribers on September 4, 2020. The second season consists of eight episodes, with the series finale set for October 9th.

Returning cast members include Antony Starr as Homelander, Karl Urban as Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Erin Moriarty as Starlight, and Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk. Karen Fukuhara is Kimiko, Dominique McElligott is Queen Maeve, Jessie T. Usher is A-Train, Chace Crawford is The Deep, Nathan Mitchell is Black Noir, and Tomer Capon returns as Frenchie.

Aya Cash joins the cast as a new Supe named Stormfront. Recurring stars in season two include Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnijc, Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Shantel VanSanten, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins, and Giancarlo Esposito returning as Vought boss Stan Edgar.

The Boys Season 2 Poster

The Boys Plot, Courtesy of Amazon Prime Video:

The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys continue on a heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven, and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes and covers up all of their dirty secrets.

The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, Starlight must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront, a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 2 Trailer Featuring “Here Comes The End”

Netflix just released the official trailer for season two of the critically acclaimed comic book-inspired series, The Umbrella Academy. The new three-minute trailer features “Here Comes The End,” an original song from comic book creator/musician Gerard Way.

Commenting on the original song, Way said, “I was originally inspired to write this track when series one of The Umbrella Academy was being shot; by the time I finished it 2020 was in full swing, the world had taken a profound turn and the song was finished in a surreal new reality.”

Netflix has set a July 31, 2020 premiere date for season two.

Gerard Way wrote the comic book series, Gabriel Bá illustrated, and Dark Horse Comics is the publisher. Steve Blackman guides the series as showrunner and executive producer, with Way, Bá, Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, and Keith Goldberg also executive producing.

Season two brings back Ellen Page (Into the Forest) as Vanya Hargreeves, Tom Hopper (Black Sails) as Luther Hargreeves, Emmy Raver-Lampman (Hamilton) as Allison Hargreeves, Robert Sheehan (Genius) as Klaus Hargreeves, David Castañeda (Switched at Birth) as Diego Hargreeves, Aidan Gallagher (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn) as Number Five, and Justin Min (Beerfest: Thirst for Victory) as Ben Hargreeves.

Yusuf Gatewood joins the cast as Raymond, Ritu Arya is playing Lila, and Marin Ireland is a newcomer named Sissy.

Details on The Umbrella Academy Season 2:

“On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. Now, the six surviving members reunite upon the news of their father’s passing and must work together to solve a mystery surrounding his death. But the estranged family begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

About Season 2: Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right – the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which – spoiler alert! – turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?).

Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything.”
