“Justifies The Means” Plot: The Reagans band together to prevent Joe Hill from being killed in the line of duty like his father when they fear Joe’s cover has been blown within the gunrunning outfit he’s helping the ATF bring down.

Series Description, Courtesy of CBS:

Blue Bloods is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner, and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as Chief.

A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son, Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his partner, Detective Maria Baez. The Reagan women in the family include middle daughter, Erin, a New York Assistant D.A. who serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father, and is a single parent to her daughter Nicky, who is pursuing a career in San Francisco. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a Harvard Law graduate and the family’s “golden boy.”

Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and follow in the family footsteps as a cop. He’s found a friend and ally in his wife, Eddie, who keeps him on his toes, and has very different reasons than the Reagans for joining the police force. The Reagans welcomed a new family addition after Frank learned his deceased son, officer Joe Reagan, has an adult child they never knew about, a young man who is a rising NYPD cop.

In addition to Benny, his team includes Marissa Morgan, a neurolinguistics expert from the Department of Homeland Security who monitors shifting jury reactions in real-time for Bull; former NYPD detective Danny James, the firm’s tough but relatable investigator; Taylor Rentzel, a working mother and former colleague of Marissa’s who is an expert at coding and computer hacking; and Chunk Palmer, a former all-American lineman and stylist-turned-lawyer, who helps clients prepare their look and testimony for trial.

‘Army of the Dead’ Offers Zombie Fans a Sneak Peek at the Film’s 1st 15 Minutes

Netflix announced the details of a special interactive livestream event featuring the first 15 minutes of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. Zombie fans will be able to watch and participate in the special sneak peek of Snyder’s action film on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10am PT/1pm ET.

Snyder will be joined by Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, and Tig Notaro for the interactive event.

Here’s the details, courtesy of Netflix:

“This live reveal will have fans (literally) digging for a sneak peek of Zack Snyder’s zombie heist flick. Once unlocked, audiences will have a 32-hour window to watch the unforgettable beginning of Army of The Dead on the Netflix YouTube channel, the same amount of time that Scott Ward (Bautista) and his crew have to break into zombie-infested Las Vegas to retrieve the $200 million sitting in a vault beneath the strip before the city is nuked.”

Netflix will release Army of the Dead in theaters on Friday, May 14th followed by a release on the streaming service on May 21st.

Written and directed by Zack Snyder (with co-writers Shay Hatten and Joby Harold), the zombie heist film stars Theo Rossi, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Raúl Castillo, Huma S. Qureshi, Samantha Win, Richard Cetrone, and Michael Cassidy, in addition to the cast members listed above. Snyder served as director of photography and produced with Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller.

The Plot:

Army of the Dead takes place following a zombie outbreak that has left Las Vegas in ruins and walled off from the rest of the world. When Scott Ward (Bautista), a displaced Vegas local, former zombie war hero who’s now flipping burgers on the outskirts of the town he now calls home, is approached by casino boss Bly Tanaka (Sanada), it’s with the ultimate proposition: Break into the zombie-infested quarantine zone to retrieve $200 million sitting in a vault beneath the strip before the city is nuked by the government in 32 hours.

Driven by the hope that the payoff could help pave the way to a reconciliation with his estranged daughter Kate (Purnell), Ward takes on the challenge, assembling a ragtag team of experts for the heist. They include Maria Cruz (de la Reguera), an ace mechanic and Ward’s old friend; Vanderohe (Hardwick), a zombie killing machine; Marianne Peters (Notaro), a cynical helicopter pilot; Mikey Guzman (Castillo), a go-for-broke influencer and Chambers (Win), his ride-or-die; Martin (Dillahunt), the casino’s head of security; a badass warrior known as the Coyote (Arnezeder) who recruits Burt Cummings (Rossi), a slimy security guard; and a brilliant German safecracker named Dieter (Schweighöfer).

Scott finds an unexpected emotional hurdle when Kate joins the expedition to search for Geeta (Qureshi), a mother who’s gone missing inside the city. With a ticking clock, a notoriously impenetrable vault, and a smarter, faster horde of Alpha zombies closing in, only one thing’s for certain in the greatest heist ever attempted: survivors take all.

‘Manifest’ Season 3 Episode 8 Recap: “Destination Unknown”

Manifest Season 3 Episode 8

Season three episode seven of NBC’s Manifest ended with Ben (Josh Dallas) witnessing for himself the black cloud hovering above Eureka. Episode eight, “Destination Unknown,” kicks off with Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur), Vance (Daryl Edwards), and Dr. Aria Gupta (Mahira Kakkar) at Eureka telling Ben about their studies. Ben has a calling and sees photos of passengers of 828 begin to catch on fire.

Back at the Stone home, Grace (Athena Karkanis) invites Angelina (Holly Taylor) to go with her to look at venues for the new restaurant she’s going to open in honor of her brother.

Zeke (Matt Long) and Cal (Jack Messina) get ready to attend a book fair. Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) is about to go along when she has a calling of burning her hand. She knows she has to follow it.

Ben and Michaela meet up and compare callings. Ben believes their callings are related and they should work together. They put their heads together and figure out the person they need to help is named Rachel Hall.

Michaela and Ben head over to Rachel Hall’s place where they are met by her ex-husband and her sister. It seems when Rachel was on Flight 828 and disappeared her husband got a divorce and married her sister, Hannah. Hannah admits to Michaela and Ben that Rachel didn’t take it well and they even had to get a restraining order.

At Eureka, Dr. Gupta meets with all the chief scientists and explains they will need to report their findings to Dr. Saanvi from now on – an order that doesn’t sit well with a few of the scientists.

Sarah shows up at the precinct to visit Jared who’s noticeably uncomfortable with her being there. Ben asks Michaela about it and she says they might be dating which makes Ben concerned since Sarah is the Major’s daughter. Michaela finds Rachel’s new address in the system and she and Ben head to her new residence.

Rachel (Sarah Hunt) reveals she’s moved on and it doesn’t bother her that her ex is married to her sister. She explains that she and her husband were having issues and tried to help their marriage by going to Jamaica. She had to leave early after a car accident caused by bad weather left her with migraines whenever she’s in the sun too much. Her husband stayed behind, not wanting to miss out on the days left of their vacation.

Rachel wraps up her story and declares she can’t be late to work.

At Eureka, Saanvi and Troy Davis (Ed Herbstmann) talk to scientist Patrick Cooper about the driftwood which they recovered from the ocean and which was in possession of the Vatican. According to Cooper, the driftwood he tested was brought up from the bottom of the ocean by a giant earthquake. They also recovered some DNA from it that indicates it’s from a 6,000 old peacock. The DNA has the same anomaly as the passengers of 828.

Ben and Michaela debate how they’re supposed to help Rachel, and Michaela says she suspects everyone’s lying.

Zeke and Cal arrive at the book fair where Zeke meets a girl named Stella who it’s obvious Cal has a crush on.

Manifest Season 3 Episode 8

Meanwhile, Grace and Angelina check out a possible location for the restaurant and, once again, Angelina is the only one who can hold and quiet the crying baby.

Back at the precinct, Michaela’s waiting for some intel on Rachel’s horrible accident in Jamaica when she talks to Jared (J.R. Ramirez) about his relationship with Sarah. Michaela explains she’s just looking out for him and feels very protective.

The report comes in and it indicates Rachel’s ex-husband t-boned her in the accident.

Ben and Michaela question Hannah’s neighbors and one tells them the ex-husband would go nuts whenever Rachel would show up to see her sister. Now Michaela and Ben believe the calling means they need to protect Hannah.

Over at Eureka, Saanvi and Dr. Gupta believe that according to the intelligence and scientific evidence they’ve uncovered the driftwood may be connected to Noah’s Ark.

Zeke and Cal return from the book fair and Cal asks if Zeke sensed anything from Stella. Zeke realizes Cal was hoping to find out if she liked him. Zeke reminds him their callings and powers are gifts and they aren’t supposed to use them for their own benefit. Cal apologizes and says he won’t do it again.

That night Michaela and Ben stake out Hannah’s house. When Rachel’s ex, Jonah, drives off Michaela uses the opportunity to speak with Hannah alone. Michaela suggests Ben go home because she thinks Hannah will open up to her if she goes in alone.

Ben has another calling, this time of Rachel’s photo catching fire. He decides to follow Jonah.

Vance and Dr. Gupta warn Saanvi that from now on all discoveries need to stay top secret. She stresses the importance of keeping Ben in the loop, but Vance says no.

Ben follows Jonah to his office and sees the cleaning service truck that Rachel works at parked out front. Ben runs over and picks the lock to let himself in but doesn’t notice he’s been seen by the security camera.

Michaela and Hannah chat and Hannah admits she was jealous of her sister who was always perfect in the eyes of their parents. When Rachel disappeared, Hannah was swept off her feet by Jonah and how much attention he showered on her. She admits he soon became controlling, suspicious, and violent.

Ben finds Rachel in Jonah’s office holding a gun on her ex-husband. Ben warns her not to kill him and that he and Michaela know about his abusive behavior and how she’s trying to save her sister. He stresses not to throw her life away on him as he stands in front of Jonah. Rachel begins to cry and lowers the gun. Ben takes it from her just as security barges in yelling to drop the gun which he does.

At the precinct, Michaela yells at Ben for his behavior. “Breaking and entering and holding a firearm in one night,” she yells as he tries to defend himself saying he had to follow the calling. Michaela understands about following the callings but insists she can’t lose him. After a long pause, Michaela tells him to go home.

Hannah visits Rachel in jail after Jonah’s been arrested.

Michaela goes home to find dinner waiting for her and listens as Zeke talks about the book fair and about Cal’s crush. She tells him about Jared dating the Major’s daughter and Zeke has a flash of feeling what Michaela is feeling when she tells him. (Could it be jealousy?)

At the Stone home, Grace tells Ben he did a good thing but agrees with Michaela that they can’t lose him. However, she realizes he has to find a way for all of them to beat the death date.

The last scene of season three episode eight shows Cal having a calling of a volcano erupting and of Michaela, Ben, and himself yelling and holding their ears.

‘Manifest’ Season 3 Episode 7 Recap: “Precious Cargo”

Manifest Season 3 Episode 7
Josh Dallas as Ben Stone in ‘Manifest’ season 3 episode 7 (Photo by: Peter Kramer/NBC)

Saanvi makes an important discovery and Ben’s involvement with Eureka causes problems on NBC’s Manifest season 3 episode seven. “Precious Cargo” starts off revealing the bodies of Pete and the other two meth heads are encased in a large glass container at Eureka. Ben (Josh Dallas) talks to Dr. Aria Gupta (Mahira Kakkar) about what’s happened and is concerned about the callings. Dr. Gupta tells Ben and Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) that after the last few tests run on Ben, they will no longer be part of Eureka and the project. Ben tries to argue but she refuses to listen to his pleas.

At the police precinct, Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) has a calling and her vision becomes fuzzy and dark. She opens the window blinds and spots a large bloom of dark smoke hovering in the sky. She walks outside and is joined by some of her fellow Flight 828 passengers as they follow it. It turns out to be hovering right over Eureka.

Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) is one of the smoke followers and stands next to Michaela as they watch Ben walking out of Eureka. Eagan notes “goody-two-shoes Ben” is walking out of what looks like a secret government base and wonders what he’s up to. Michaela doesn’t respond.

Up at the cabin, Olive (Luna Blaise) is trying to comfort Angelina (Holly Taylor) who’s still grieving the loss of Pete. Holly declares she’s not going to follow the callings anymore and leaves.

Grace (Athena Karkanis) talks to Ben on the phone and he brings her up to date on what’s happening at Eureka.

Michaela visits Ben to find out what he was doing at Eureka, explaining a big black cloud led her there. Ben reveals he was Eureka’s guinea pig which upsets her, and she tries to talk him out of it. Ben believes the science they discover might help save them all.

As Michaela starts to drive off her hands begin to glow. Ben’s about to head back into the house when he sees a group of 828 passengers following Eagan with their hands glowing. Eagan wants Ben to tell him what he’s been up to. One of the men with Eagan drugs Ben and knocks him out.

Michaela runs into the house to tell Ben about her hands and doesn’t see him. However, she smells burning food in the kitchen and quickly turns the oven off. Growing concerned, she spots Ben’s phone lying on the counter. “Ben, where are you?” asks Michaela out loud.

Ben wakes to find himself in a locked room he doesn’t recognize. A large dog comes in barking with Eagan close behind. He informs Ben he saw him coming out of the building under the smoke and demands to know what he’s up to. Ben admits to working with the NSA which is based in the building. Eagan becomes angry, believing the NSA’s the enemy and must be stopped. Ben reveals everything they’ve discovered seems to point to the passengers of 828 having been resurrected.

Eagan leaves Ben locked in the room.

At Eureka, Saanvi talks to Troy and explains the results of the tests show that the meth heads, Ben, and other 828 passengers’ DNA are registering traces of sapphire.

Meanwhile, Ben looks around the room and finds a combination code on the refrigerator. He tries putting in different numbers but is interrupted when Eagan returns with two other passengers from 828 who tie Ben up. Eagan confesses he fears the NSA and others will look at them the way Salem looked at women falsely accused of witchcraft in 1692.

At the precinct, Michaela tries to locate Eagan believing he may be behind Ben’s disappearance. She receives an email message and quickly realizes Ben’s sending her a clue on how to find him.

Back at the cabin, Grace packs up her brother’s things to give away and Cal (Jack Messina) becomes upset. A little later Cal accuses Grace of trying to erase her brother the same way she tried to erase him when he went missing for five and half years by giving away his belongings. Grace apologizes and admits she did that not to try to erase him but because it hurt her too much to see things that reminded her of him. Cal confesses he blames himself for her brother’s death but she says that’s not true.

Michaela and her partner, Drea (Ellen Tamaki), follow the email location to a neighborhood of identical houses. They realize Eagan is “hiding in plain sight” by using a model home.

Over at Eureka, Saanvi barges in and interrupts a meeting with Vance (Daryl Edwards), Dr. Gupta, and other scientists to reveal the discovery of the DNA anomaly. Dr. Gupta thanks Saanvi but asks her to leave.

Ben tries to make a deal with Eagan by claiming they need an inside man at Eureka and that he might be right about fearing them but it’s better to know what they’re up to. Ben says he only wants to save himself and everyone he knows from the death date. They hear arguing and bodies hitting the ground upstairs. Ben tells Eagan that’s his sister, Michaela. She’s a cop and not alone, so Eagan should release him. Eagan cuts Ben loose just as Michaela and Drea come downstairs yelling, “Arms up!”

Michaela arrests Eagan against Ben’s protests.

At the cabin, Olive tries to convince Angelina to stay by saying she’s part of the family. As she’s talking the baby starts to cry and Angelina seems to know just how to hold the baby so she’ll quiet down.

It’s not long after he’s booked that Eagan makes bail and is released. As he walks out of the precinct, he sees Ben waiting for him and realizes Ben bailed him out. Ben asks him to rein in his followers and to remember that he’ll do anything to save his family and everyone he cares about from the death date.

Jared (J.R. Ramirez) meets Sarah (Lauren Norvelle) for coffee and the two admit they have feelings for each other.

At Eureka, Dr. Gupta tells Saanvi to unpack and that her discovery of the DNA anomaly is groundbreaking. She adds that she has something to show her. Saanvi watches as a crate with markings from the Vatican is moved in.

The episode ends with Ben looking at Eureka and witnessing the huge dark cloud hovering above it.
