ABC’s confirmed the popular medical drama The Good Doctor will be returning for a fourth season as part of their 2020-2021 primetime lineup. The Good Doctor currently ranks as the number one series on Monday nights in total viewers. Season three’s averaging 15.6 million viewers which puts it ninth overall among all broadcast series.
David Shore is the showrunner and executive produces with Daniel Dae Kim, Erin Gunn, David Kim and Sebastian Lee.
“The Good Doctor has been a cornerstone on Monday nights and is one of those special heartfelt series that fearlessly tackles inclusivity,” stated Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. “David Shore’s thoughtful storytelling, combined with an incredible cast led by Freddie Highmore’s nuanced performance as Dr. Shaun Murphy, are what have made this series a breakout hit over the past three seasons, and I’m excited to see where they take us next.”
In addition to Freddie Highmore, the season three cast features Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Hill Harper, and Richard Schiff. Christina Chang, Fiona Gubelmann, Will Yun Lee, Paige Spara, and Jasika Nicole also star in the drama.

The Plot:
Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, continues to use his extraordinary medical gifts at St. Bonaventure Hospital’s surgical unit. As his friendships deepen, Shaun continues to tackle the world of dating and romantic relationships, and work harder than he ever has before, navigating his environment to prove to his colleagues that his talents as a surgeon will save lives.

The second season of ABC’s The Rookie will finally return from its lengthy midseason break on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT. Season two episode 11, “Day of Death,” was directed by David McWhirter from a script by Brynn Malone and Frederick Kotto.
Episode 11 guest stars include Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers, Harold Perrineau as Detective Nick Armstrong, Ali Larter as Dr. Grace Sawyer, and Annie Wersching as Rosalind Dyer. Julian Acosta plays Sgt. Antonio Hernandez, Michael Cassidy is Caleb Wright and Natalia Del Riego is Nora Valdez in “Day of Death.”

“Day of Death” Plot – Officer Nolan and the entire team are in a desperate search to rescue Officer Chen after her abduction and must attempt to get Rosalind to help them in their search. Meanwhile, after Officer Lopez discovers Wesley unconscious from a dangerous cocktail of alcohol and pills, she is forced to keep him close by.

Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was a pitch-perfect adaptation of Jenny Han’s bestselling coming-of-age novel. The 2018 film adaptation of the teen rom-com was sweet, relatable, and undeniably charming. It also turned out to be one of Netflix’s most-watched and best-reviewed original movies, setting the bar incredibly high for the sequel. Fortunately, 2020’s To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You clears that bar and is equally as entertaining as its predecessor.
Picking up right where the first film left off, the sequel finds lovebirds Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) no longer having to pretend their attraction to one another isn’t real. Lara Jean’s absolutely radiant with the glow of new love and eager to find her way as part of a high school couple for the very first time. And who wouldn’t want Peter as their first-ever boyfriend? Seriously, the guy’s just an all-around good dude. He’s popular without being a jerk about it. Handsome, funny, caring…he ticks all the boxes.
Lara Jean’s going through a series of firsts—first kisses, first dates, first holidays as part of a couple—while Peter’s done all of those things before with Gen (Emilija Baranac). The fact Peter’s experienced while Lara Jean’s dipping her toes in the relationship pool for the first time proves to be a point of contention for the otherwise adorable couple. Is Peter on repeat mode? Is he taking Lara Jean to places he used to take Gen? Inquiring minds…make that specifically one inquiring mind…want to know what’s unique to this relationship and what’s a tried and true date formula from Peter’s past.
While Lara Jean’s working her way past early relationship stumbling blocks, she finds herself forced into confronting another one of the recipients of her love letters. John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher) reintroduces himself into her life and tosses his hat into the potential boyfriend ring. Lara Jean and Peter swore never to break each other’s hearts, but that promise was made before John Ambrose reappeared. What’s a girl to do when so many decent guys show an interest?

As with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, the sequel immediately wraps its audience in a welcoming, inclusive embrace. You’d be hard-pressed to find two young actors with better onscreen chemistry in a romantic comedy than Noah Centineo and Lana Condor. Centineo and Condor are, once again, absolutely spot-on as an unlikely high school couple dealing with a refreshingly realistic range of relationship issues.
No matter your age, it’s likely you can relate to or recall the terrifying experience of first love. Condor’s Lara Jean perfectly captures the mood swings, doubts, drama, and dizzying delights of falling for someone for the very first time.
Compared to Lara Jean, Peter is less fleshed out and could easily have come across as a one-dimensional, generic boyfriend-type. But as with the first film, Centineo makes sure that doesn’t happen. It’s still ultimately Lara Jean’s story, however, Centineo brings such depth to the character that he ensures the audience knows Peter exists outside of his role as a boyfriend while at the same time being fully dedicated/committed to the relationship.
The sequel concentrates on Lara Jean and Peter, however, it also manages to make time to expand on the stories of Lara Jean’s sister, Kitty (Anna Cathcart), and their father, Dan (John Corbett). In fact, dad even gets to take tiny steps toward re-entering the world of dating with the introduction of Trina (Sarayu Blue), a single neighbor who Dan has a few awkward but cute moments trying to get to know better.
The first film set up the love story; the sequel gives it space and allows it to blossom. To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, premiering two days before Valentine’s Day, is the perfect stay-at-home date movie. Not in a relationship? Not to worry. It’s still an entertaining way to forget about the stress of real life while spending a few hours with smart, funny, and interesting characters.
Janet Jackson will be back on tour this summer in support of her upcoming album, Black Diamond. The just-announced “Black Diamond World Tour 2020” will kick off in Miami on June 24th. Scheduled stops include the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Dallas, Madison Square Garden in New York City, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and New Orleans.
The 2020 North American leg of the tour will wrap up on August 23rd in Tacoma, Washington.

Fox’s The Resident returns after taking a few weeks off (the last new episode aired January 28th) with season three episode 15, “Last Shot.” Episode 15 is set to air on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT.
The cast of season three includes Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Hawkins, Emily VanCamp as Nicolette “Nic” Nevin, Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Randolph Bell, and Manish Dayal as Dr. Devon Pravesh. Shaunette Renee Wilson plays Dr. Mina Okafor, Malcolm-Jamal Warner is Dr. AJ Austin, Jane Leeves is Dr. Kitt Voss, and Glenn Morshower is Marshall Winthrop. Morris Chestnut joins the cast as Dr. Barrett Cain.
“Last Shot” Plot – When Red Rock finally opens the doors to its new neurosurgery center and Nic is forced to work alongside Cain again, she, along with the rest of the staff, discover that the center is not everything that was promised. Mina and The Raptor work together with a new surgeon on a heart transplant that has an unexpected result.
Meanwhile, after becoming personally involved, Bell asks Conrad to re-examine the three patients who may have been poisoned.

Entering its third season, The Resident continues to rip back the curtain and reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country. The provocative medical drama follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital, as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis while fighting for their patients.
In season three, Red Rock Mountain Medical has taken over, inserting its own doctors – including new neurosurgeon Dr. Barrett Cain – and nurses into the well-oiled machine that was once Chastain Memorial Hospital, and causing the doctors to fight harder than ever against the corrupting influence of money in healthcare. The hospital is being run like a profit-hungry corporation – reaping huge financial gains, while risking the lives of its patients.
Dr. Randolph Bell is well-aware of the dangerous deal he has made with Red Rock in order to get Chastain out of its financial crisis and, as a result, initially turns a blind eye to the new corporate mantra of profits over patients. It’s not long before Dr. Conrad Hawkins incurs Red Rock’s fury when he confronts the problems head-on, becoming a whistleblower. The good fight he leads could ultimately threaten everything he holds dear, including his ability to practice medicine.
The Justice League of young healthcare providers must unite to fight for and with him, with Nicolette “Nic” Nevins in the lead. Nic attempts to recover from a devastating personal loss by throwing herself into patient care and her work for the uninsured through her clinic.
Dr. Devon Pravesh will find himself rotating out of the ER and gaining experience and power of his own in new positions within the hospital, eventually moving up to a first-year resident. Dr. AJ Austin will continue to bond with his mentee, the exceptionally talented surgeon, Dr. Mina Okafor. She’ll be his support as he navigates a relationship with his complicated biological family, while striving to maintain one with the parents who raised him. Okafor will be faced with a potential new family dynamic of her own, when her best friend, Adaku, who carries the BRCA breast cancer gene, returns pregnant with no father in the picture.
Meanwhile, the power and ruthlessness of new neurosurgeon Dr. Cain takes the hospital by storm. He embodies all the evil that can result when doctors care more for the bottom line than for their patients. Dr. Kitt Voss is the first to realize that his charm hides a medical demon, but standing against him could have serious consequences for her future. Cain’s ability to generate millions for Chastain leaves him free to exact swift revenge on those who oppose him – and no one is off-limits.
Valentine’s Day is anything but peaceful and romantic on CBS’s Hawaii Five-0 season 10 episode 16. “He kauwā ke kanaka na ke aloha,” Hawaiian for man is a slave of love, was directed by Jerry Levine from a script by Rob Hanning and will air on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT.

CBS’s MacGyver season four episode two finds Mac almost roped into helping out a crooked general. Episode two, “Red Cell + Quantum + Cold + Committed,” was directed by David Straiton from a script by Terry Matalas and will air on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT.
Episode two’s guest cast includes Xander Berkeley, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Camille Mana, Leonardo Nam, Fernando Chien, Jeremy Palko, Kathryn Alexander, and Braxton Alexander.
The season four cast is led by Lucas Till as Angus “Mac” MacGyver. Tristin Mays is Riley Davis, Justin Hires is Wilt Bozer, Meredith Eaton is Matty Weber, Levy Tran is Desi Nguyen, and Henry Ian Cusick plays Russ Taylor.
“Red Cell + Quantum + Cold + Committed” Plot – Department of Defense General John Acosta (Berkeley) recruits MacGyver to steal a highly classified project from a military lab in order to find flaws in its security. But when it’s discovered that the general is planning an attack using the weapon, Phoenix must stop Acosta before the weapon is uploaded.

Parasite earned four Oscars including Best Picture, making history as the first feature film not in the English language to win the top award. In addition to Best Picture, the South Korean film won Best Director (Bong Joon Ho), Best Original Screenplay (Bong Joon Ho & Jin Won Han), and Best International Feature Film. The hostless 92nd Academy Awards also recognized 1917 with three wins, while Joker, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Ford v Ferrari each picked up two Oscars.
The 2020 Oscars had its fair share of memorable moments including a surprise performance of “Lose Yourself” by Eminem 17 years after he won an Oscar and a passionate acceptance speech by Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) that will go down in history as one of the best ever delivered. And after a busy night of hopping on stage to collect awards, writer/director Bong Joon Ho and the cast/crew of Parasite had the star-studded audience urging the Academy to turn the lights back on so the South Korean artists could finish their Best Picture acceptance speech.

Episode one of The CW’s Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene, introduced us to Katy, her fabulous friends, and their New York lifestyle. The new series continues exploring Katy’s busy life with episode two, “You Can’t Hurry Love.” Directed by Steve Adelson from a script by Michael Grassi, episode two will air on February 13, 2020.
The series stars Lucy Hale as Katy Keene, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Katherine LaNasa as Gloria Grandbilt, Zane Holtz as KO Kelly, and Lucien Laviscount as Alexander Cabot. Camille Hyde is Alexandra Cabot, Julia Chan is Pepper Smith, and Jonny Beauchamp plays Jorge Lopez/Ginger.
“Chapter Two: You Can’t Hurry Love” Plot – SIGNS – With Katy’s (Hale) personal life in a holding pattern, which everyone seems to know about thanks to the newspapers picking up Pepper’s (Chan) blog, she can’t seem to escape even at work. Josie (Murray) finds a job to help pay the bills but picks up an extra job at a record store, and quickly learns it might be closing, leaving Josie with an idea to help keep it open. Because of Jorge’s (Beauchamp) outburst at his last audition, he finds himself on the outs with the Broadway community. After begging for one last audition and waiting to hear if he got the part, he must decide if he wants to give up performing as Ginger.
Meanwhile, Pepper finds herself low on cash, but is somehow able to secure a warehouse in which she dreams to open up “The Pepper Plant.”

Katy designs clothes for anyone she can, including her friend and roommate Josie, whose singing talent catches the attention of Alexander Cabot (Laviscount), a CEO who hopes to reboot the record label division of his father’s corporate empire. But Alexander’s dream of signing Josie to a recording contract meets resistance from Cabot Media’s powerful senior vice president Alexandra (Hyde), who also happens to be his twin sister. Josie and Katy’s roommate Jorge works at his family’s bodega and has his eye on Broadway, but after a series of rejections, he hopes to take his drag performance career as Ginger to the next level. The mysterious Pepper Smith plans to open her own version of Andy Warhol’s Factory. She has the connections, but no one seems to know where she got her money — or if she really has any at all.
Katy struggles to manage the pressures of her day job at Lacy’s Department Store and her very demanding boss, Gloria (LaNasa), who is a legendary personal shopper. But Katy has the support of her longtime boyfriend, KO Kelly (Holtz), who has his own dream of becoming a professional boxer. As these aspiring artists take on the runway, the recording studio, Broadway, and the NYC social scene, they will find more than just a career in the big city — they’ll find long-lasting friendship.”
Chris Wood reprised his The Vampire Diaries character, Kai Parker, in The CW’s Legacies season two episode 12. Kai, along with Sebastian and three of the Salvatore High School’s students from 10 years back, are stuck in the same prison world where Alaric, Lizzie, and Josie wound up. The episode concentrated on the Saltzman clan’s battle to stay alive/escape this prison world and ignored the goings-on at the Salvatore school.
Episode 12 found Sebastian feeding Lizzie vampire blood without telling her what he was about to do. Kai and Josie engaged in a battle of wits before Kai escaped into the Malivore pit and Josie tried to rescue her family by going full Dark Josie.
Up next, season two episode 13 airing on February 13, 2020. Episode 13, “You Can’t Save Them All,” was directed by Jeff Hunt from a script by Brett Matthews and Thomas Brandon. Chris Wood continues his guest-starring role as Kai.
Legacies stars Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson, Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman, Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman, and Quincy Fouse as MG. Aria Shahghasemi is Landon Kirby, Peyton Alex Smith is Rafael Waithe, and Matt Davis is Alaric Saltzman.
“You Can’t Save Them All” Plot – AND SO IT BEGINS — Hope (Russell) finds herself in a race against the clock as the threat of the prophecy looms and the pressure to rescue the Saltzmans grows. Meanwhile, Alaric’s (Davis) attempt to keep his family safe leads him to make a difficult decision.
The Season 2 Plot:
Last season, viewers were thrilled to tap into a whole new passion for The Vampire Diaries / The Originals universe, when the third installment in the franchise launched with Legacies. Set in the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, Legacies told the story of the next generation of supernatural beings as they learn what it means to be special in a world that may never understand. Typically a school for vampires like MG (Fouse), werewolves like Rafael (Smith) and witches like twins Lizzie (Boyd) and Josie Saltzman (Bryant), the kids and their beloved headmaster Dr. Alaric Saltzman (Davis) were stunned to come face to face with a series of monster and creatures they had only ever heard of in myth and lore. A dragon. A gargoyle. The Headless Horseman.
The evil behind the real-life resurrection of these formerly fictional beings proved to have a horrifying connection to the school’s newest student, Landon Kirby (Shahghasemi). This led his first and only love, Hope Mikaelson (Russell), the school’s shining star, to sacrifice her place at the school — and in the world — to protect Landon from a terrible fate.
Season two will show us a world without Hope Mikaelson and all the chaos that goes along with it. All the while, Hope will be trying to find her way back to the school she has learned to call home and the friends she has learned to love like family. It will be filled with new monsters and more romantic and emotional surprises than ever.
