The final season of Teen Wolf will premiere on July 30, 2017, moving to Sunday nights at 8pm ET/PT for season 6B. And just days prior to its season 6B premiere, cast members from the popular MTV series will make one final trek to the San Diego Comic Con to promote the show. Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Posey, Dylan Sprayberry, Shelley Hennig, Cody Christian, Khylin Rhambo, and executive producer Jeff Davis will take the stage in Hall H for a panel on Thursday, July 20th at 2pm ET/PT.
MTV’s plans for the 2017 San Diego Comic Con also include the return of the MTV Fandom Fest held at Petco Park. Per MTV, “the MTV Fandom Fest will celebrate the fans who have descended upon San Diego Comic-Con to raise their beloved television shows, movies, comic books, animation and more to global phenomenon. Fandom Fest will feature thousands of guests at Petco Park as MTV offers numerous events including fan-facing activations, live music, giveaways, and more.” Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Posey will be back as host.

HBO just announced the premiere date for season two of Vice Principals starring Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down) and Walton Goggins (Sons of Anarchy, Justified). The half-hour adult comedy will kick off season two on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 10:30pm ET/PT. HBO’s confirmed the second season will be the show’s final season and will consist of nine new episodes.
Vice Principals was created by Danny McBride and Jody Hill. David Gordon Green directs the series and McBride, Hill, Green, Jonathan Watson, and Stephanie Laing executive produce. McBride and Goggins lead a cast that includes Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Georgia King, Busy Phillips, Shea Whigham, and Sheaun McKinney.
The Vice Principals Season 2 Plot: The tumultuous school year at North Jackson High continues and a new semester brings lots of changes. Gamby and Russell are about to learn that the only thing harder than gaining power is holding on to it, as the darkest comedy on television returns to finish what was started.

Showtime’s confirmed its plans for a Twin Peaks panel at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con. Cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Tim Roth, Dana Ashbrook, Kimmy Robertson, Everett McGill, Matthew Lillard, James Marshall, Don Murray, and Naomi Watts will take part in a panel in what’s sure to be a packed Hall H on Friday, July 21st at 2:45pm PT. Lost‘s Damon Lindelof is set to moderate the panel.
Select cast members will participate in an autograph signing following the panel. Showtime’s also going to be hosting an exclusive screening of part 11 which will be open only to Comic Con attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Plot: Directed entirely by David Lynch, the new SHOWTIME 18-part limited event series picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. Twin Peaks is written and executive produced by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and is executive produced by Sabrina S. Sutherland.
Netflix’s award-winning documentary Icarus has just released an official trailer and poster. The documentary had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival where it won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award: The Orwell Award, and was sought after by multiple studios. Netflix won out, obtaining the film for $5 million.
Commenting on the acquisition by Netflix, director Bryan Fogel stated, “This has been an intense 3.5-year personal journey that exposed the biggest scandal in sports history. To be able to work with Netflix, a company that is able to launch this story globally in such a big way, with such potential for social and political impact, is a spectacular honor.”
Netflix is planning to premiere Icarus on August 4, 2017.
The Plot: In the audacious documentary Icarus, director Bryan Fogel’s bold gambit was this: to investigate doping in sports, Fogel (an amateur bike racer) would dope himself, observe the changes in his performance, and see if he could evade detection. In doing so, he was connected to a renegade Russian scientist, Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov, a pillar of his country’s “anti-doping” program. Over dozens of Skype calls, urine samples, and badly administered hormone injections, Fogel and Rodchenkov grow closer despite shocking allegations that place Rodchenkov at the center of Russia’s state-sponsored Olympic doping program.
When the truth is more complex than imagined, and accusations of illegalities run to Russia’s highest chains of command, the two realize they hold the power to reveal the biggest international sports scandal in living memory. Exemplifying the special bond between filmmaker and subject, this is a vital portrait of the sacrifice some people will make to stand up for truth. Icarus places you at the heart of an international game of cat and mouse, where a miscalculation can cost you your life.
Emma Roberts (Scream Queens, American Horror Story) and Hayden Christensen (Jumper, American Heist) have finished work on the romantic comedy, Little Italy. First Take Entertainment announced filming’s complete on the romcom directed by Donald Petrie’s (Miss Congeniality, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) from a screenplay by Steven Galluccio (Mambo Italiano, Funky Town) and Vinay Virmani (Breakaway, Dr. Cabbie). Fred Fuchs, Tiffany Kuzon, Patrick Roy, and Christina Kubacki executive produced.
In addition to Emma Roberts and Hayden Christensen, the Little Italy cast includes Andrea Martin (Great News), Alyssa Milano (Charmed), Danny Aiello (The Godfather), Adam Ferrara (Rescue Me), Gary Basarba (Brooklyn South), Andrew Phung (Kim’s Convenience), and Jane Seymour (Wedding Crashers).
“Little Italy is a romantic comedy with a really big heart. Its a story about a community that loves, laughs, fights and forgives. It reminds us that love knows no boundaries,” said Christensen.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Donald’s movies and when I heard he was directing this film, a throwback to movies I’ve always loved watching, I jumped at the chance to play this character,” added Roberts.
“Love – Love of food, love of family and love that knows no barriers of age or gender,” said director Donald Petrie. “No matter who you are, you’re sure to laugh, cry and find a little bit of yourself in Little Italy.”
The Plot:Little Italy is a story about a little place with a big heart – a community with deep roots that lives life loud and proud.
The LAIKA Experience will be set up at this year’s Comic Con, kicking off prior to the Con on July 14th and running through July 23rd. The pop-up exhibit is free to the public and will feature puppets, monsters, props, and sets from LAIKA’s four films: Coraline, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, and Kubo and the Two Strings. The LAIKA Experience will also include fan art, giveaways, a photo booth, and drawings for Nike’s LAIKA-themed shoes designed by Tinker Hatfield.
“LAIKA’s films are a unique fusion of art, craft, science, and technology, commingling cinema’s history with the future of film. Netflix and Marvel Television announced the cast of Marvel’s Luke Cage season two has increased by two. Mustafa Shakir (The Deuce, The Night Of) and Gabrielle Dennis (Insecure, Rosewood) will be joining Luke Cage‘s returning stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Shades, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple for the 13 episode second season. Cheo Hodari Coker (Ray Donovan), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Punisher), and Jim Chory (Marvel’s Inhumans) executive produce. A premiere date hasn’t been confirmed, however, Netflix is targeting a 2018 debut.
Per Marvel’s official announcement, Mustafa Shakir will be playing John McIver, “a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance.” Gabrielle Dennis is going to play Tilda Johnson, “a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her.”
“I can’t wait for audiences to see the compelling paces we put both Mustafa and Gabrielle through,” stated Marvel’s Luke Cage executive producer and showrunner, Cheo Hodari Coker. “From the moment you see each of them on screen, I feel they will be powerful additions to the world of Marvel and Harlem’s Luke Cage.”

The Marvel’s Luke Cage Plot: After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a man trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City.
Entertainment Weekly’s annual “Women Who Kick Ass” panel at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con will feature Charlize Theron. Theron, soon to be seen kicking ass in Atomic Blonde, was selected to be the focus of EW’s first Icon Edition WWKA panel because she “consistently embodies strength, searing intelligence and steely determination on screen.” Entertainment Weekly’s Icon Edition panel will recognize the “most powerful, empowering female stars in pop culture,” and Oscar-winner Theron fits that description.
Charlize Theron will also be on the cover of of EW’s “Inside Comic-Con” bonus issue given out during the 2017 San Diego Comic Con. This year’s sold-out convention runs July 20-23, with a special preview night on July 19.

Actress/singer Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Frozen) will be featured on the soundtrack to the Netflix documentary Chasing Coral. The original documentary was directed by Jeff Orlowski (Chasing Ice) and will premiere on Netflix and in theaters on July 14, 2017.
Bell’s contribution to the documentary is “Tell Me How Long,” written by Dan Romer and Teddy Geiger. The song is described as a “rousing plea about the climate crisis and the devastating phenomenon silently raging underwater – the global bleaching of coral reefs.”
“I was moved and inspired by Chasing Coral and its message of hope for our planet’s future,” stated Kristen Bell. “I feel a responsibility to care for the Earth in whatever way I can and I was honored to lend my voice to the original song. As we strive to make a better world for our children, I hope this film will ignite real action in advancing climate solutions in our global communities.”
Chasing Coral had a successful festival run, winning the Documentary Audience Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. It also screened at SXSW, San Francisco International Film Festival, Hot Docs, Sheffield Doc Fest, Sundance London, Sydney Film Festival, and the Aspen Ideas Festival.

Amazon’s announced details on the panels and activities surrounding three series they’ll be promoting at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con. Cast members from The Tick, Danger & Eggs, and Niko and the Sword of Light will be in attendance at the popular convention taking place July 20-23, 2017 (with a preview night on July 19th). Amazon Prime Video will be hosting panels, autograph signings, and what’s described as an immersive Tick experience.
