Cesar Millan Returns with New ‘Better Human Better Dog’ Series

Cesar Millan helps train a medical companion dog, a Yorkie with trust issues, and assists a Rottweiler who needs to learn how to remain calm around a large family on the new dog-friendly series, Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog. Season one will premiere on July 30, 2021 on National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild, with new episodes arriving on Fridays at 9pm ET/PT.

The first season consists of 10 episodes hosted and executive produced by Cesar Millan. The series is also executive produced by Leepson Bounds Entertainment’s David Leepson, Jane Mun, Roger Roddy, and Aaron Rice along with National Geographic’s Breanna Hoepner.

National Geographic released the following series description along with season one episode details:

“As humans face a world never seen before, they have turned to four-legged friends as a way to console, bringing harmony and peace to their homes. In fact, dog adoptions are hitting record highs over the past year, with some cities reporting a 90% rise in adoption rates. However, with great power comes great responsibility, and sometimes more pooches can cause more problems. Many rescue dogs can come from a troubled past resulting in unknown trust issues, which can be difficult for new owners. Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog showcases Cesar Millan as he takes on the most challenging cases yet, treating a host of new canine behavioral issues impacted by well-intentioned but impulsive owners.

In the new series, Cesar opens the gates to the famed Dog Psychology Center, his California ranch retreat for dogs. Here he transforms canines – and families – one case at a time, working to make the world a better place. With updated philosophies, new techniques, and family support, Cesar tackles some of the most demanding cases of his career.

Transformations include cases like Goliath, a dog that was once so unpredictably aggressive he blocked paramedics from entering his home during a family emergency. He is now a medical companion animal, able to seek assistance when his owner suffers a seizure. Also, follow Insta-famous Ducky the Yorkie as he em’barks’ on a journey with Cesar to gain comfort and composure with his second owner so that the newlyweds can finally pursue their dreams of starting a family. A rottweiler named Kuma is also transformed from an unstable liability to a calm, confident member of a family with five young children. To complement his efforts, Cesar’s own exotic animal ‘paw’sonal assistants pitch in to assist in the rehabilitation process – including llamas, a parrot, and a miniature horse – all full-time residents of the Dog Psychology Center.”

“It is very important to me to be a part of this historic event to spread awareness and encourage action toward helping the people of Ethiopia during this devastating humanitarian crisis they are faced with. It’ll be an honor to perform and help bring support to these citizens who are suffering so severely,” said The Weeknd.

“Global Citizen Live” will air on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, and Twitter, with additional outlets to be announced in August. Ticket information, as well as safety guidelines, will also be announced closer to the event date.

“COVID-19 has drastically reversed the progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals pushing upwards of 160 million people back into extreme poverty. There are now more than 40 million people on the brink of famine. Progress on climate change has halted, as the majority of the Fortune 500 fail to set science-based carbon reduction targets. We must rectify the damage done and hold world leaders and businesses accountable for ensuring that the entire world recovers from this pandemic together. ‘Equitable recovery’ is not an act of charity – it is the only way we can ensure a fighting chance at achieving a sustainable world free from extreme poverty,” stated Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans.

The first Global Citizen festival was held in 2012 in New York. In 2015 Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin was announced to serve as the festival’s curator for a 15-year term.

‘Turning Red’ Trailer: It’s All Fun and Games Until the Beast’s Unleashed

Pixar’s 2022 animated comedy Turning Red seems geared to make red pandas (an endangered species) super popular. The new trailer for the upcoming family-friendly film introduces Mei Lee, a young girl with an overprotective mom and a habit of transforming into a red panda when she’s stressed out. Why a red panda? I have no idea.

The voice cast includes newcomer Rosalie Chiang as the shapeshifting 13-year old and Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Sandra Oh (Killing Eve, Grey’s Anatomy, Sideways) provides the voice of her mom. Turning Red is helmed by first-time feature film director Domee Shi. Shi earned a Best Animated Short Film Academy Award for her 2018 short, Bao.

Disney and Pixar are targeting a March 11, 2022 release.

The Plot, Courtesy of Pixar:

Growing up is a beast.

Young actress Rosalie Chiang lends her voice to Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS). Sandra Oh voices Mei Lee’s protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager.

Disney+ and Lucasfilm announced a special episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will focus on the appearance of Luke Skywalker in the season two finale. The special episode will delve into the process of introducing a young Luke Skywalker, played by the one and only Mark Hamill, into the series in a key scene.

The “Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian – Making of the Season 2 Finale” will premiere on Disney+ on August 25, 2021.

The news of a Luke Skywalker-centric episode arrives hours after The Mandalorian received 24 Emmy Awards nominations. The sci-fi series tied with The Crown for the most nominations, picking up nominations in categories including Best Drama Series and Supporting Actor in a Drama (Giancarlo Esposito).

Disney+ issued the following description of the “Making of the Season 2 Finale” special episode:

“In last year’s Season 2 finale of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, the appearance of a young Luke Skywalker was one of the biggest reveals and best-kept secrets of the acclaimed show thus far. Reaction to the episode was emotionally charged for many, deeply resonating with generations of fans who were elated to see the Jedi Master in his post-Return of the Jedi prime. The story of the cutting-edge technology used to bring Luke back is the subject of a special extra episode of Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian, debuting August 25 on Disney+.

‘Making of the Season 2 Finale’ is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this celebrated ‘chapter’ of The Mandalorian, with a focus on the technology used for recreating Luke Skywalker. It delves into the collaborative process, including working with Mark Hamill, to create an authentic and fitting recreation, and explores the immense pressure and responsibility the filmmakers had in bringing back one of the most important characters in film history.”
