Mayans M.C. Season 2 Episode 6 Recap: “Muluc” Ends on a Shocking Note

FX’s Mayans M.C. season two episode six opens with EZ (JD Pardo) having spent the night watching over his older brother following the rescue attempt that ended with Adelita choosing to remain in custody. Angel (Clayton Cardenas) wakes to crows cawing outside his window and grabs what looks like a gun. He pulls the trigger and, fortunately for bird lovers, it’s a water gun that leaves the birds unharmed while effectively chasing them away. In Angel’s state of mind, it wouldn’t have been shocking to find some crows had cawed their last caw after choosing to land outside his window this particular morning.

Speaking of the aftermath of Adelita’s choice, Potter’s informed she’s now in custody at a military base in San Diego. That’s the good news. The bad news is there are two dead agents inside a burned-out car. No one’s quite sure who attacked the car, but it’s believed if the rebels or the cartel did, Adelita wouldn’t have been left behind.

Elsewhere, Miguel Alvarez’s vehicle dies and he calls on Nestor for an assist. Before Nestor arrives, the mercs appear on the scene. They immediately shoot one of the men in the leg and then grab Marcus (Emilio Rivera), forcing him into their vehicle.

Nestor (Gino Vento) and another of Miguel’s men actually pass the mercs on the road as they roll up to the scene. They’re quickly filled in on what went down. Nestor heads back down the road on his own, chasing after the mercs.

The mercs quickly realize they’re being followed and their two vehicles split up. Nestor follows the correct vehicle, after the second vehicle (a tow truck) breaks off. Unfortunately, it’s a trap. The tow truck reappears from the side and T-bones Nestor’s car. The impact sends Nestor’s vehicle off the side of the road and tumbling down an incline.

Nestor’s able to get out of the vehicle and watches as the Clearwater Towing truck pulls away. He uses his finger to write 243 on the sand covering his destroyed car. 243 is part of a phone number that became visible when the magnetic sign on the tow truck slipped as a result of the impact.

EZ and Angel arrive at the garage and Angel’s no longer on the outs with the club. After Angel walks away, EZ tells Bishop (Michael Irby) his brother’s messed up but hasn’t been broken. “Something’s shifted,” explains EZ. Bishop instructs EZ to keep Angel close. (Even without the warning EZ doesn’t appear to be drifting far from his brother’s side.)

Meawhile, Emily (Sarah Bolger) visits Ileana’s hotel room after receiving a phone call from her friend. Ileana breaks the news that another bidder – China – has placed the best bid for the project. China’s offer was submitted at the very last minute and is a substantially better deal for Santo Padre. Ileana has no idea how this happened, but Emily surmises someone fed them info on the bids. Emily believes it’s Ileana’s assistant Marlon who provided the top bidder with information, but Ileana doesn’t think that’s possible.

Emily reminds Ileana she accepted the bribe and now she needs to know everything about Marlon. If she can prove Marlon helped China, then their bid would be disqualified. Whatever plan Emily cooks up must be implemented quickly before the bids are voted on.

In a show of control, Emily leaves another packet of money with Ileana – just to rub it in her face.

Happy (David Labrava) shows up at the Mayans’ garage for a face-to-face with EZ and Angel. They meet in EZ’s trailer and Happy reveals he lied to Packer and was able to get more info on who ordered the hit on their mom. According to the copies of the paperwork Happy was able to obtain, the payment was sent via Western Union from the Hermosillo branch in Sonora, Mexico. That narrows it down to two possibilities, one of which is the Galindos. Because Miguel Galindo’s father would have already been cooperating with the DOJ at that time, making five smaller payments through Western Union would have been the best option to move a large sum of money without getting it flagged.

The meeting breaks up when Tranq (Frankie Loyal) comes to collect EZ and Angel to help with the Alvarez situation. Bishop looks concerned when Happy exits the trailer with the Reyes brothers, but they cover their meeting with a workable lie.

Bishop asks Happy for an assist on rescuing Alvarez and he’s happy to oblige. They can’t fill him in on the real details but Happy’s fine with minimal knowledge of what went down. Referencing SAMCRO’s Jax Teller and his relationship with Alvarez, Happy says, “Jax would want me to help. I’m in.” (We’re all in on any and all references to Jax and Sons of Anarchy.)

The mercs attempt to torture information out of Alvarez, demanding to know who attacked the station wagon carrying Adelita. Alvarez is busted and bloody, but not ready to talk. They continue punching him in the face, but he remains loyal to Miguel Galindo, the cartel, and the Mayans.

The torture ramps up and the mercs become convinced Alvarez is close to breaking. They begin ripping off his fingernails, promising it’s the little fingernails that hurt the most. Alvarez begs them to stop and says it was the brothers. He offers to provide the mercs with numbers to text, assuring them the brothers will call back.

Miguel and a few of his men meet up with Bishop to figure out who could have taken Alvarez. They don’t believe it’s a rival cartel and Miguel finally lands on Potter and the mercs as the likely candidates. Angel thinks it’s possible it’s the mercs acting on their own to get revenge on whoever killed their men.

Emily arrives unexpectedly at the meeting and demands to speak with Miguel. He’s pissed she showed up at the dress warehouse and yells at her to go home. Nestor’s in bad shape as he enters the building, and Emily’s immediately upset to see him injured. Miguel instructs his men to remove Emily from the building since she’s not leaving on her own.

It turns out Clearwater Towing doesn’t exist, but the 243 Nestor saw proves useful. Coco (Richard Cabral) and Riz (Antonio Jaramillo) are tasked with figuring out the phone number and who it belongs to.

Miguel heads off to confront Potter’s right-hand woman and she can’t believe he actually thinks Potter would have kidnapped Alvarez. Miguel thinks Potter’s testing his security, but he’s not around to confront him directly.

Coco and Taz come up with 28 possible phone numbers, some of which belong to farms and others to businesses.

Miguel returns and he and Bishop receive identical text messages addressed to the Molino twins. The messages instruct them to call a burner and meet Miguel about a very important job. Angel figures out that since Molino means windmill in Spanish, Miguel wants them to meet somewhere with turbines. (Angel’s quite the detective in this episode.)

The 243 number matches a few farmlands. Now they just have to narrow that list to ones that have turbines.

After being kicked out of the meeting, Emily shows up at Felipe’s butcher shop again. He closes it down and she promises no one knows they talked. She’s not going to share the info she learned about his true identity.

Emily’s actually there to secretly meet with EZ. She admits Miguel was right to kick her out of the meeting, and then confesses she needs EZ’s help. She explains about the Chinese bribing a clerk and edging them out of the project. She can’t quite ask the question and then admits this project is all she has right now. She can’t tell Miguel because he’ll bring his other world into the business.

Emily lies about her own illegal activity, saying she only found out about the Chinese bidder because a friend told her. She asks EZ to talk to Marlon and get him to tell the truth about how he helped the Chinese. She doesn’t want him hurt and doesn’t think the guy would risk going to jail.

EZ steps away from the meeting when Angel calls with the news they know Alvarez’s location. Before heading out, EZ agrees to help Emily.

The leader of the mercs tells Alvarez they sent the text and still haven’t heard back. Alvarez asks if Potter ordered his kidnapping. Alvarez reveals he knows who these guys are, calling the leader by his name. The leader puts a spike through Alvarez’s hand and threatens to put one through the other hand if the brothers don’t call soon. After that, he’ll chop both hands off.

The club and cartel members arrive at the hills immediately above the farmhouse. Coco takes up a position and uses his sharpshooting skills to put a bullet through the forehead of a merc on guard duty. Miguel’s also with the group, and Nestor warns he shouldn’t be there. Miguel’s not worried because he knows Nestor would take a bullet for him.

Coco’s unable to spot the location of other mercs from this distance. Angel volunteers to get closer, however Coco and EZ follow in his footsteps. “The three of us moving together kind of defeats the whole stealth things,” says Angel. “I’m not suicidal you f**king morons! Just let me do something right.”

He continues moving forward, now without his two compadres. Angel makes it to the brick wall not far from the recently deceased merc. He hunkers down behind a tow truck before making his move closer to the building. He steps on something metal which causes a clatter, however no one emerges from the building.

Peering through a window, Angel spots the group with Alvarez. Just as Angel turns from the window, another merc on outside guard duty spots him. Coco takes care of that guy with a bullet to the head before he can even raise his gun.

Angel moves away from his perch by the window.

Time’s run out inside the building as the mercs now call bullsh*t on the phone numbers Alvarez provided. They are, however, impressed with how tough Alvarez is and how long he’s held out.

Before they can finish off Alvarez a glass shatters nearby. The mercs head toward the noise as suddenly a tow truck drives through the closed garage door, hitting a few of the men. The Mayans and Miguel’s people follow it in, and a gunfight breaks out. Happy’s a brave ally as he takes one merc down and the club and cartel handle the rest.

Miguel and Nestor pull up the rear and enter the building after the action’s quieted down. Alvarez is freed. He’s in poor shape but still alive.

The leader of the mercs is still alive but Alvarez waves away a gun they try and hand him to finish the job. EZ understands what’s needed and gives Alvarez one of the tools they used to torture him. Alvarez is helped over to the merc’s injured body where he tells the man he should have learned a little Spanish. He then proceeds to bash his head in.

The Mayans regroup at their clubhouse and EZ and Angel take a minute to say goodbye to Angel. They assure him it’ll all be over once they find out the identity of the person who ordered their mother’s murder.

After getting a hug from his little brother, Angel heads out to see their dad.

As Alvarez is getting fixed up by the club’s doctor, Bishop warns him to never scare them that way again. Nestor arrives and Alvarez says what he did “gives loyalty a whole new meaning.”

“I’m proud of you and I thank you, my brother,” says Alvarez.

Miguel arrives home for a much-needed conversation with Emily. She admits she messed up and shouldn’t have shown up at his meeting. She also confesses she’s enjoyed getting closer to him since Potter and Adelita entered the picture, but the boundaries between Miguel’s worlds have become less defined. He offers an apology and she accepts. She also assures him she made one call and handled the problem she wanted to discuss with him earlier that day.

Potter calls the mercs and the phone just rings. The camera pans and shows six dead mercs lined up on the floor, backed by the sound of a ringing phone.

Potter asks an agent to get the NSA and ICE to hand over everything they have on Ignacio Cortina and Felipe Reyes.

EZ shows up at Marlon’s house, announcing himself at the door (using his real name). And in a late in the episode plot twist, Marlon recognizes EZ from high school. Marlon’s a few years younger but they both played ball.

Marlon’s currently living with his mom but just put down a deposit on a new condo. Marlon suddenly decides to ask why EZ’s there, and EZ confesses he’s there about the agriculture park project. Marlon tries to kick him out, but EZ reveals the cops are going to pull his email and phone records. The only way to stay out of jail is to tell his boss the truth.

EZ slips up and uses the word “we” during their talk and Marlon realizes who EZ’s representing.

Marlon makes a critical mistake and calls Emily a cartel whore. EZ punches him in the face in response and then says, “The only person I’m doing this for is you, Marlon. It’s your ass on the line.”

EZ demands Marlon’s phone and laptop but Marlon won’t turn them over. EZ warns him that even a guy living in his mom’s basement should be smart enough to know this won’t go his way.

EZ asks one more time for the phone and laptop. Marlon acts as if he’s agreeing and instead retrieves a gun from a desk drawer. EZ acts quickly and punches Marlon again in the face. They struggle over getting control of the gun which has fallen to the floor. Marlon has it in his hands when EZ hits him again, causing Marlon to shoot himself under the chin. The bullet explodes out of the top of his head as he falls back on the couch. From the position of his dead body and the bullet’s entry wound, anyone investigating could easily assume this was a suicide.

Skeet Ulrich and Madchen Amick Interviews on Riverdale Season 4 and ‘Falice’

Skeet Ulrich’s making The CW’s Riverdale fans really happy by revealing season four will include the rise of Falice. (FP + Alice = Falice, for those who need a refresher.) During our roundtable interviews at the 2019 New York Comic Con, Ulrich confirmed this is in fact the season of Falice. It’s also, unfortunately, a season that needs to kick off with a very special episode honoring the passing of Luke Perry and the character he played, Fred Andrews, a heartbreaking episode Ulrich also touched on in our interview.

Mädchen Amick also fed into the rise of Falice idea by revealing Alice will be moving into the old Cooper place, currently occupied by FP Jones. Amick says Alice will be going into reporter mode in season four, plus she’ll get a big redemption moment early on in the season.

Riverdale season 4 will premiere on October 9, 2019.

Where do we pick up with FP at the beginning of season four?

Skeet Ulrich: “Well, it’s all about the loss of Fred. And, subsequent to the premiere episode, is I think quite a bit of taking care of Archie – or at least sort of being very aware of what Archie’s into and showing up for him. Which is what Fred did for Jughead and what friends do.

But the first one was incredibly hard to make. Indescribably hard.

That’s where he is. And, Falice is rising which is so great. So much fun. But more importantly than just the heat of Falice is we start to peel away why it’s there. It has been great to create.”

We don’t always see parent characters this well defined and complicated. Is that something that really appealed to you?

Skeet Ulrich: “Absolutely. I think it’s the genius of Roberto (Aguirre-Sacasa) and the writers to realize the power of that. It would be very easy to devolve into just being this show… I mean, obviously the fandom is about Cole (Sprouse) and KJ (Apa) and Camila (Mendes) and Lily (Reinhart)…”

And older viewers.

Skeet Ulrich: “Absolutely! I’m saying it would be very easy to just do that. And I think the creative genius of it is knowing that’s not enough necessarily. I have twins that are teenagers and I really feel like certainly at 15 when the show was first airing, at that age kids are really starting to see the flaws in their parents for the first time. And the show speaks to that. I think it offers a voice through the parents that you’re not alone. Parents are flawed and it’s okay. Not in all situations, but for the most part that’s just life. I always liked that about the psychology of the show.”

Are there any moments in the new season that you’re really excited for fans to see?

Skeet Ulrich: “Well, there are many. There’s certainly the stuff Madchen and I are doing I’m really excited by. Cole’s always been just… I really, really admire and respect him. I think the world of him. He’s immensely talented. His knowledge is so diverse and fascinating for not even just his age but any age. So, working with him is always a blast.

There are things that go on between FP and Jughead that start to tear at them and it’s because of both of their natures. Jughead is really somewhat of an investigator at heart and FP’s quite the opposite. He likes to hide away. And when the two butt heads it’s really interesting. There’s quite a bit.”

How does Jughead going to prep school this year affect FP?

Skeet Ulrich: “I think it really pushes him toward Archie and towards making sure he’s okay. I think it’s a little bit of an empty nest syndrome. I mean, Jellybean is there but because of the amount of characters we have, there’s not a lot of writing there. But when we do see her, we realize she’s cut from the same cloth. She’s definitely a child of Gladys and FP, starting to get into trouble.

But I think there’s something missing that I don’t think he ever suspected he would feel. Certainly if you look back at season one, he didn’t even really want him around. I guess it’s a little bit of take something away and you will know what it is you wanted. And so, it’s interesting. I would be curious to see where it goes.”

Is there anyone unusual that we’re going to see FP team up with in this coming season?

Skeet Ulrich:“Yeah, yeah. (Laughing) Someone that you may or may not suspect.”

Where do we pick up with Alice?

Mädchen Amick: “The Farm is mysteriously missing for a bit so the long-lost real son, Charles, and Betty work together to try and track down The Farm. Betty wants to save her mom and sister, Polly. So, the first few episodes is that and then I will say episode three Alice has a really big redemption against The Farm.”

And it picks up right after the events of season three?

Mädchen Amick: “Our first episode is the 4th of July weekend so it’s right into summer. And then the second episode jumps forward in time a bit.”

Can you tell us a little bit about what the mother/daughter relationship is going to be like this season?

Mädchen Amick: “So, there’s definitely a Betty/Alice… She works really hard to find her mom, save her mom. And then they kind of fall back into some old interacting with each other ways, the tit for tat mother/daughter. And then we just filmed our eighth episode – 408 – where it’s a big episode where there’s a counselor who comes to town and gives everybody some extra counseling. Through that a lot of the younger storylines and older storylines, a lot of the parents and kids get through a lot of their issues. And so there’s a really great Betty/Alice confrontation and they have to work through a lot of stuff.”

What kind of headspace do we find her in as the season opens?

Mädchen Amick: “Well, when we first really get to see Alice she’s in full I’m going to take down The Farm mode. And then she’s got a great redemption. And then she folds back into the town and moves back into the old Cooper house which is now the Jones house. So, it’s quite the big happy family-ish. As big a happy family as you can get in Riverdale. Yeah, now it’s the Cooper-Jones house.”

Will there be any new and unusual pairings for Alice in season four?

Mädchen Amick: “She does go deep into reporter mode so she’s going around town and getting some good scoop on a lot of people. She ends up covering…there’s a big Lodge trial and so she ends up getting to cover that and gets introduced to another Lodge daughter. So, Veronica has a sister that comes into play. And of course Alice is immediately judgey. She’s just like, ‘And who’s this?!’ So that’s fun.”

Was slipping into the reporter mode something you were anxious to do with her?

Mädchen Amick: “Yeah. I really wanted to. We sort of had that idea and it was actually Roberto’s social media post that I did. I was doing some press and I was in a newsroom and I was like, ‘I always wanted to be a reporter!’ I was reporting the news behind the news, and it kind of gave him an idea. Like, ‘Oh, Alice as a reporter – that’s a good idea.’ So, it’s been fun.

It’s a good way for her to get the scoop on everybody but do it in a more professional way. ‘I’m just being a journalist! I’m going to snoop into your business.’”

Who’s the big baddie in this season?

Mädchen Amick: “It’s kind of a slow burn. Jughead does go off to prep school and there’s something simmering at the prep school. So far it doesn’t seem like there’s a Gargoyle King or a Black Hood, but it’s kind of like a more subtle, lingering, simmering thing that’s going to go throughout the season.”

Fox’s Prodigal Son has earned a full season order, becoming the first new fall series to earn a season one pickup. The network’s given the drama an order for nine additional episodes, upping the season one total to 22 episodes.

According to Fox, Prodigal Son is the “highest highest-rated new series on any network.” More than 8.5 million people watched the series premiere which aired on September 23, 2019. New episodes air on Mondays at 9pm ET/PT.

Tom Payne (The Walking Dead) and Michael Sheen (Good Omens) lead the cast of the new Fox primetime drama. Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, and Frank Harts also star in season one.

Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver are the season one writers and showrunners. Fedak and Sklaver also executive produce along with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.

Prodigal Son delivers a fantastic crime procedural with a complicated and compelling father-son relationship at its core, thanks to the stellar performances from Tom Payne and Michael Sheen,” stated Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, FOX Entertainment. “The series has razor-sharp writing, cinematic visuals and is an inventive twist on the genre. We want to thank our executive producers, Greg, Sarah, Chris and Sam, Peter Roth and our partners at Warner Bros., and the entire cast and crew. We can’t wait to see how this twisted journey continues to unfold.”

The Season 1 Plot, Courtesy of Fox:

Prodigal Son centers on Malcolm Bright (Payne), a psychologist who has a gift for understanding how serial killers think, because his father, Dr. Martin Whitly (Sheen), was one of the worst, a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon.” Bright is the best criminal psychologist around and murder is the family business. He uses his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with his manipulative mother, Jessica Whitly (Young), his annoyingly normal sister, Ainsley Whitly (Sage) and a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son, not to mention his own constantly evolving neuroses.

The only way Bright feels normal is by solving cases with the help of his longtime mentor, NYPD Detective Gil Arroyo (Diamond Phillips). Arroyo’s one of the best detectives around, and he expects no less from his team – Detective Dani Powell (Perrineau), a headstrong no-nonsense cop who quickly becomes impressed with Bright’s work; and Detective JT Tarmel (Harts), a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself.

Commenting on the final season, Hirst said, “I always knew how Vikings would end and, after 89 episodes, I truly believe the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons has been told and we are leaving our beloved fans with the proper and definitive ending they so deserve. Although it is bittersweet there are still 20 episodes left and the most ambitious and intensely emotional episodes are still to come.”

The Plot, Courtesy of History:

Revenge, drama and chaos closed out the mid-season five finale. Ivar the Boneless (Andersen), a self-proclaimed God ruling over Kattegat with alarming terror, charged his army into battle against his enemy and brother Bjorn Ironside (Ludwig). Unleashing a fiery guerilla warfare, the two brothers refused to surrender – blood, pride and the crown weighed too heavily on both of their shoulders. In the final moments, Ivar was forced to flee an imminent fate, disappearing into the darkness and securing Bjorn’s victory. Lagertha (Winnick), reborn after experiencing severe delusions from the major love she’s lost, emerged to crown Bjorn as the new rightful king.

Season six returns following the battle between brothers which has left Bjorn victorious and a hero to the people who have been under the tyrannical rule of Ivar for so long. As the new leader of Kattegat, Bjorn struggles to fill his late father’s shoes as king, while facing several dilemmas and wrestling with the idea that power overshadows morals.

Meanwhile, Ivar, searching for a new path to separate him from his past, is seen traveling along The Silk Road eventually leading him to Russia. He meets his match in Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky), a ruthless and unpredictable Russian ruler, who shocks even Ivar with his merciless actions. While Lagertha has her own agenda – to live a quieter and less public life on her own farm, but new dangers lurk close to home.

This season, the Vikings continue to take over Scandinavia as Ubbe (Smith) and Torvi (Hirst) travel to Iceland to uncover the mystery circling around Floki’s (Skarsgård) disappearance and Hvitserk (Ilsø) pursues his personal vendetta against Ivar.

Jeff Daniels is James Comey to Brendan Gleeson’s Donald Trump

CBS Studios just announced they’ve snagged Jeff Daniels and Brendan Gleeson to star in a special four-hour miniseries. Daniels is on board to play former FBI Director James Comey, and Brendan Gleeson will portray Donald Trump.

CBS also revealed two additional key cast members. Jennifer Ehle will play James Comey’s wife, Patrice, and Michael Kelly is set to play Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe.

The miniseries is based on Comedy’s New York Times bestselling memoir, A Higher Loyalty. Oscar nominee Billy Ray (Captain Phillips, Shattered Glass) adapted the book and is confirmed as director. Alex Kurtzman, Shane Salerno, and Heather Kadin are executive producing.

Filming is expected to begin this November. CBS has not yet set an airdate for the Secret Hideout, The Story Factory and Home Run Productions project.

Commenting on the casting, writer/director Billy Ray said, “Jeff is so perfect for this part. Great actor, instant integrity, loads of warmth, intelligence, complexity and gravitas. We talked backstage after I saw him in To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway, and I knew I was looking at the only person who could play Jim Comey. Lucky for me, he said yes.”

“It’s hard to imagine a bigger acting challenge than playing Donald Trump,” said Billy Ray. “You have to have presence and a singular kind of dynamism. You also have to have the courage and the will to play Trump’s psychology from the inside out. Oh, and you have to be spectacularly talented and watchable. Not many actors check all those boxes. Brendan does. I’m ecstatic about this.”

Ray also spoke about bringing in Michael Kelley and Jennifer Ehle. “When I first met Jeff Daniels on this movie, I told him, ‘I’m going to surround you with racehorses who are also workhorses. That’s Michael and Jennifer. So talented, so good at their craft – they fill their characters, yet it feels effortless – so their performances are always layered and unfussy, exactly the right kind of rhythm for this story,” explained Ray.

More on Billy Ray and A Higher Loyalty, Courtesy of CBS:

“Ray researched the project for over a year in order to make the drama a fair, responsible and comprehensively documented account of real-life events. He traveled to Washington, D.C. and several other cities to meet with Comey, his family, and many other key players, including prominent journalists, FBI agents, government officials from both political parties and others.

A Higher Loyalty debuted on top of the New York Times bestseller list and has already sold over two million copies across all platforms. It was recently released in paperback and again vaulted to #1 around the world.

The story is the reminiscence of Director Comey, who served as the seventh director of the FBI from 2013 to 2017. From helping change the Bush administration’s policies on torture and electronic surveillance to overseeing the Hillary Clinton email investigation, as well as possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, Comey has been involved in some of the most consequential cases and policies of recent history.”

Marie Avgeropoulos Interview – Wonder Woman: Bloodlines and the Final Season of The 100

The 100 star Marie Avgeropoulos lends her voice to Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, marking her first voice role in an animated film. Avgeropoulos plays Silver Swan in the comic book-inspired superhero film which she worked on simultaneously to filming season six of the gritty sci-fi drama, The 100.

During our roundtable interview at the 2019 New York Comic Con, Avgeropoulos said what she really loved about playing Silver Swan was being able to show her transformation. She came up with four distinct voices to mark the different periods in Silver Swan’s life.

“I had the opportunity to play her as Vanessa – as a young adolescent girl. And then she transforms into a bit of a gothic girl in high school, due to the resentment she has towards her mother and Diana. And then later you’re going to meet Silver Swan and the complicated relationship she has with Diana. It’s interesting to see how it unfolds, for sure.”

Her favorite part of the whole transformation? “The process of trying to pull off the Sonic Scream,” said Avgeropoulos.

Given this was her first voice role in an animated movie, Avgeropoulos felt it was a challenge to tell a story with her voice rather than her body. “It’s a totally different beast, but a rewarding one, too,” said Avgeropoulos.

Animated voice work is different, yet Avgeropoulos still got into the action with her character while in the booth. “I’m jumping around, acting out all the fight moves, trying to match what it would sound like,” explained Avgeropoulos. “It’s very bizarre. A lot of it’s bizarre. If you were a fly on the wall you’d be like, ‘This is strange but fascinating at the same time.'”

Avgeropoulos is proud of the latest DC Universe Movies entry and of being a part of the Wonder Woman world. “Wonder Woman is such an iconic character. I was just really pleased to be a part of this project, especially seeing the real film with Gal Gadot. I just thought that was so well done and so epic,” said Avgeropoulos. “So now I’m completed honored to play in the animated version.”

Asked what technology of Wonder Woman’s she’d like to possible, Avgeropoulos didn’t need to pause to think of her answer. “Lasso of Truth, for sure. Then I could spot people BSing me instantly. That would be a good tool to have in life,” said Avgeropoulos with a smile.

As for working on the seventh and final season of The CW’s The 100, Avgeropoulos knows it’s going to be an emotional goodbye when filming wraps. “I’m not looking forward to the last shooting day because I know I’m going to cry, for sure. It’s going to be weird to say goodbye to a character that I’ve played. It’s going to be sad to say goodbye to Octavia. I’ll put her on a shelf and thank her for all the things that she’s taught me over the years. It’s bittersweet.”

Warner Bros Home Entertainment will release Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, starring Rosario Dawson in the title role, digitally on October 5, 2019 and on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack on October 22nd.

HBO’s critically acclaimed The Deuce will conclude its three season run with four new episodes airing in October 2019. The network’s just released plot descriptions for episodes five through the series’ finale, episode eight. The critically acclaimed drama concludes on October 28th with an episode appropriately titled “Finish It.”

The Plot and Season 3 Details:

“Season three of The Deuce brings us into the world of 1985, just as VHS overtakes film as the primary medium for porn production and distribution. The lure of the California sunshine, the city’s aggressive takeover of commercial sex properties in Times Square and the devastating impact of the AIDS epidemic mark the end of an era.

With the party of the 1970s winding down, 42nd Street has deteriorated into a hive of uncontrolled violent crime and seedy video stores, making urban renewal seem more unlikely than ever before. Following the interconnected lives of Times Square’s barkeeps, prostitutes, pimps, police, mobsters, porn actors and producers, the eight-episode third season of The Deuce brings the series’ arc to a dramatic conclusion.”

Cast and Characters, Courtesy of HBO:

The drama series stars James Franco as both Vincent Martino – who, in season three, finds himself tired, wary and in search of a way out – and his twin Frankie Martino, a seemingly changed man, who is married with children and who continues to flirt with self-destruction; and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Candy, a director struggling to maintain her artistic integrity in an industry that is quickly devolving.

The returning cast also includes Margarita Levieva (Revenge), as Abby, the proprietor of the Hi-Hat and an advocate for Times Square’s artists and denizens who begins to consider life after the Deuce; Emily Meade (The Leftovers) as porn star Lori, now living in Los Angeles and battling addiction while absorbing the porn business’ migration to video-tape and the resulting degradation, and Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. (The Wire) as Chris Alston, now detailed to the Midtown Enforcement Project and partnered with Gene Goldman (Luke Kirby) to realize the city’s plan to rehabilitate Midtown.

Chris Bauer (The Wire) is French Parlor manager Bobby who steadily begins to lose his piece of the lucrative Times Square sex trade; Chris Coy (Banshee) is gay businessman and entrepreneur Paul, who must confront the AIDS epidemic, and Michael Rispoli (The Sopranos) is mob capo Rudy, who leans on the Martino brothers for greater profit amidst infighting.

Season three finds familiar faces who return this season as cast regulars including, David Krumholtz (The Plot Against America) is veteran pornographer Harvey; Daniel Sauli (House of Cards) is Tommy Longo, who’s angling for his own position amidst the Gambino family; Olivia Luccardi (Channel Zero) is Melissa, now an amateur porn actress forced to confront her past, and Sepideh Moafi (Falling Water) is Loretta, a bartender at the Hi-Hat, involved in the feminist anti-porn movement.
