‘I Care A Lot’ Trailer: Rosamund Pike vs. Dianne Wiest

Netflix’s official trailer for I Care A Lot finds Rosamund Pike meeting her match when she tries to take on Dianne Wiest. If the movie’s half as good as the trailer, I Care A Lot‘s going to be a fun, albeit temporary, diversion from everything going on in the world.

In addition to Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest (Bullets Over Broadway, Hannah and Her Sisters), the cast includes Peter Dinklage, Eiza González, Chris Messina, Macon Blair, Alicia Witt, Damian Young, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

J Blakeson wrote, directed, and produced the Netflix release. Teddy Schwarzman, Ben Stillman, and Michael Heimler also produced, with Andrea Ajemian and Sacha Guttenstein executive producing.

I Care a Lot will premiere on February 19, 2021.

The Plot, Courtesy of Netflix:

Poised with sharklike self-assurance, Marla Grayson (Pike) is a professional, court-appointed guardian for dozens of elderly wards whose assets she seizes and cunningly bilks through dubious but legal means. It’s a well-oiled racket that Marla and her business-partner and lover Fran (González) use with brutal efficiency on their latest “cherry,” Jennifer Peterson (Wiest) — a wealthy retiree with no living heirs or family. But when their mark turns out to have an equally shady secret of her own and connections to a volatile gangster (Dinklage), Marla is forced to level up in a game only predators can play — one that’s neither fair, nor square.

Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high-tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick. This season, Bull finds it harder than ever to navigate his personal life, as he balances fatherhood and his renewed relationship with Isabella “Izzy” Colón, his ex-wife. Izzy’s brother is Benny Colón, Bull’s trusted associate, a quick-witted lawyer who acts as defense attorney in the company’s mock trials.

Bull’s enviable group of experts at Trial Analysis Corporation shape successful narratives down to the last detail. In addition to Benny, his team includes Marissa Morgan, a neurolinguistics expert from the Department of Homeland Security who monitors shifting jury reactions in real-time for Bull; former NYPD detective Danny James, the firm’s tough but relatable investigator; Taylor Rentzel, a working mother and former colleague of Marissa’s who is an expert at coding and computer hacking; and Chunk Palmer, a former all-American lineman and stylist-turned-lawyer, who helps clients prepare their look and testimony for trial.

‘Firefly Lane’ Trailer Stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke as Lifelong Besties

The official trailer for Netflix’s Firefly Lane introduces Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke playing best friends who’ve stuck together through thick and thin. The series is based on the bestselling novel by Kristin Hannah and, in addition to Heigl and Chalke, stars Ben Lawson, Ali Skovbye, Roan Curtis, Yael Yurman, and Beau Garrett.

Series creator/showrunner Maggie Friedman hadn’t read the book prior to being introduced to the story by a producer. Friedman said she immediately fell in love with the story which she describes as focusing on an epic female friendship.

“It’s really about the power of friendships have in shaping our lives. The relationships that make us who we are, and the impact we have on other people, sometimes without even realizing it,” said Friedman when asked what she hopes viewers will take away from the series. “Your soulmate isn’t necessarily the person you marry or fall in love with. Maybe you’ll watch it, and afterward you’ll call your best friend and tell her you love her.”

Friedman executive produces with Katherine Heigl, Stephanie Germain, Shawn Williamson, and Lee Rose. Author Kristin Hannah was involved as a co-executive producer.

The 10 episode season premieres on February 3, 2021.
