The Flash Season 6 Episode 11 Recap: “Love is a Battlefield”

The Flash Season 6 Episode 11
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and Candice Patton as Iris West – Allen in ‘The Flash’ season 6 Episode 11 (Photo: Michael Courtney © 2020 The CW Network, LLC)

“So much for date night,” says Iris (Candice Patton) to Barry (Grant Gustin) as their Valentine’s Day dinner is interrupted and ruined by an old foe in season six episode 11 of The CW’s The Flash.

The episode picks up right where the show left off with Iris pulling herself up off the floor of McCullock Tech Industries after having been pulled into a mirror. She hears footsteps and quickly exits.

The next morning Iris surprises Barry with pancakes celebrating Valentine’s Day a few days early. Barry’s surprised the pancakes are actually edible because Iris has always been a terrible cook. They make reservations to have a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for later that night in case there’s an emergency on February 14th.

Frost (Danielle Panabaker) visits Allegra (Kayla Compton) and decides to be her life coach and help Allegra get back together with her ex, Emerson. She encourages her to go to Jitters and see him.

At their pre-Valentine’s Day dinner, Barry’s surprised to learn Iris knows how to speak Italian to the waiter, which she says she picked up doing a story a while back. Their dinner date is interrupted and cut short when Amunet Black (Katee Sackhoff) enters and steals a case from a patron. Barry tries to arrest her, something Amunet finds humorous. She warns him that if he or his team gets in her way, she will reveal his secret identity…The Flash.

Iris pushes for Barry to let her go. After talking to the police, Iris tells Barry they should take on Amunet but do it the way she does it when being an investigative reporter.

Frost and Allegra head to Jitters where they spot Emerson being very friendly with another girl. Frost urges her to talk to him but Allegra gets upset and walks out.

Iris visits a bar known to attract the underworld to get info on Amunet and her plan. Barry’s nervous and waiting out in the S.T.A.R. Labs van listening in. Iris, dressed as a tough biker chick, asks the bartender about Amunet which raises his suspicions. She knocks out his bouncer by smashing a beer bottle on his head and the bartender gives her a note about Amunet’s next target. It’s another tech company called Ivo Lab. Barry warns her she’s being reckless and taking unnecessary chances, but Iris is happy with the results.

Barry and Iris go to Ivo Lab and find Amunet and Goldface (Damion Poitier) facing off over a piece of tech. They watch as the ex-couple quarrel over issues during their relationship. Barry realizes they are up against a gang war. Amunet and Goldface start to fight using their meta powers and end up pinning a security guard. Barry quick speeds and phases the guard to safety without Amulet or Goldface seeing him. During the fight, Iris steals the tech Amunet and Goldface are fighting over.

Back at their apartment, Barry and Iris get into an argument over how to stop Amunet and Goldface. Barry says they should lay low but Iris wants to offer up the tech to Amunet to try to stop her by getting close to whatever deal she’s trying to make. Barry again thinks his reporter wife is being reckless. Iris yells at Barry about how she has grown and he refuses to see it, that she can’t be his damsel in distress anymore, and grabs the tech and leaves.

Nash (Tom Cavanagh) shows up at Allegra’s apartment looking to give her something and finds Frost pouting. She tells him how she messed up with Allegra and her ex and that she was only trying to help. Nash explains Allegra sees things as black and white and Frost needs to help her see shades of grey and to not give up.

Iris finds Amulet and warms her she’s figured out her plan with the new tech. It seems the tech will be able to harvest the pollen of a rare flower that blooms once every 25 years. When the pollen is heated up, it creates a telekinetic drug. Amunet doubts Iris when she says she wants in but when Iris says she wants to use the drug on Barry to help save their marriage, Amunet buys it and agrees to team up.

Barry speaks with Joe (Jesse L. Martin) about Amunet and Goldface, telling him about the changes in Iris. Barry fears they’re growing apart but Joe tells him they’re still growing as people. As long as they love and respect each other, their foundation will always be strong.

Frost visits Allegra and apologizes. Allegra lays out details of her relationship with Emerson, admitting she ghosted him because she was afraid of how he would react when he found out she’s a meta. Frost encourages her to reconnect and be honest with him and to stop assuming she knows exactly how it will play out. Allegra agrees.

Amulet, her gang, and Iris arrive at the flower’s location only to find Goldface is already there with his gang. They start fighting and insulting one another again. Their gangs begin shooting at each other and The Flash speeds in and moves Iris to a safe spot. He then speeds around and takes down all the goons amid their crossfire.

The Flash tries to talk to Amunet and Goldface, telling them it’s obvious they still have intense feelings for each other and they need to listen to each other. Goldface isn’t having it and uses the gold in The Flash’s suit to blast him across the room. Iris tells The Flash to destroy the flower. He shoots a mini lightning bolt and destroys the flower. The pollen surrounds Amunet and Goldface and they hear their true thoughts about each other and reveal they’re still crazy for each other.

At Jitters, Allegra tells Frost she met up with Emerson and it went well. They’re going to be friends and Frost is happy for her. Just after Allegra leaves, Nash shows up meeting Frost who thanks him for his good advice that helped Allegra. “Almost parental,” says Frost who also tells Nash if he ever wants to talk she’s a very good listener. Frost leaves, and Nash looks at Allegra talking to Emerson. He turns to call after Frost and sees a Harrison Wells wearing glasses in a black shirt looking at him. A few patrons walk by blocking his view of the man and then he’s gone. (Is the Reverse Flash back again in the form of Wells?!)

In the episode’s final scene, Barry and Iris makeup back at their loft and hug. During the hug Iris looks into a full-length mirror and it’s revealed that the real Iris, Barry’s Iris, is trapped on the other side of the glass. She pounds her fists yelling, “Get away from him! Barry! That’s not me! She’s not me! Barry!”

The Flash Season 6 Episode 11 Review:

Silly and overly cute, episode 11 titled “War is a Battlefield” is nothing more than a filler episode that gets painfully goofy and ridiculous to the point of being camp, which the show has never been. The spotlight is once again put on Iris making her the star of the episode and practically sidelining Barry almost completely. The episodes that bench Barry to make room for Iris or other supporting characters to be the lead are always the least exciting and entertaining of the series. So far, this is the worst episode of season six. It’s skippable except for the last two scenes that reveal Iris trapped in a mirror dimension and the possible return of The Reverse Flash in Harrison Wells form.

Prodigal Son Season 1 Episode 15 Photos: Preview of “Death’s Door”

A killer might be among attendees at a funeral directors convention on season one episode 15 of Fox’s Prodigal Son. “Death’s Door” is set to air on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT.

Michael Sheen stars as convicted serial killer Dr. Martin Whitly and Tom Payne plays Dr. Whitly’s conflicted son, Malcolm Bright. The cast also includes Bellamy Young as Jessica Whitly, Lou Diamond Phillips as Gil Arroyo, Halston Sage as Ainsley Whitly, Aurora Perrineau as Dani Powell, Frank Harts as JT Tarmel, and Keiko Agena as Edrisa Tanaka.

“Death’s Door” Plot – When a body is found professionally preserved and embalmed, the NYPD teams up with Edrisa to go undercover at a convention of funeral directors. While there, they discover their top suspects – morticians Tilda (guest star Ana Gasteyer) and Dev (guest star Sathya Sridharan) – who used to be in business with the victim. Then, enter the mind of a serial killer as Martin revisits his past through a series of hallucinations.

Season One Details:

“Malcolm Bright (Payne) has a gift. He knows how killers think and how their minds work. Why? Back in the 1990s, his father was one of the worst, a notorious serial killer called ‘The Surgeon.’ So it makes sense Bright is the best criminal psychologist around; murder is the family business.

He will use his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother, annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses.

Meet the happy family. Dr. Martin Whitly (Sheen) is intelligent, wealthy, charismatic and also happens to be a predatory sociopath who killed at least 23 people. Bright’s mother, Jessica Whitly (Young), an elegant and WASPy New Yorker, wields sarcasm like a samurai sword and has an opinion on every aspect of Bright’s life.

Perhaps Bright’s only ally is his sister, Ainsley Whitley (Sage), a TV journalist who wishes her brother would “take a break from murder” and have a normal life.

Unfortunately for his sister, the only way Bright feels normal is by solving cases with the help of his longtime mentor, NYPD Detective Gil Arroyo (Phillips). Arroyo’s one of the best detectives around, and he expects no less from his team – Detective Dani Powell (Perrineau), a headstrong no-nonsense cop who quickly becomes impressed with Bright’s work; and Detective JT Tarmel (Harts), a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself.

So much for normal.”

Manifest Season 2 Episode 6 Recap: “Return Trip”

Manifest Season 2 Episode 6

“We have to save the passengers. I have to cure the death date,” says Dr. Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) into her recorder as she gets ready to use herself as a test subject in season two episode six of NBC’s mystery drama, Manifest.

Episode six begins with a flashback of Zeke (Matt Long) in bed with Courtney (Danielle Burgess) impulsively deciding to get married. Jump to present day and Courtney’s sharing their story in a support group with Zeke as her sponsor.

Over at the Stone home, Ben (Josh Dallas) is giving Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) a few old items she can use at her apartment. Michaela tells Ben that Zeke and Courtney were never legally married and even though she’s sympathetic to Courtney’s story, she really wants to get her out of her apartment.

Jared (J.R. Ramirez) gets a hair cut from his new girlfriend, Tamara.

T.J. (Garrett Wareing) and Olive (Luna Blaise) are getting to know each other better when Adrian (Jared Grimes) warns Olive her father was adamant about her not being a member of The Believers. Since she’s a minor, he’s forced to respect her father’s wishes. Isaiah questions kicking out Olive saying other Believers might lose faith. But Adrian assures him a bigger miracle will make them believe.

Back at the Stone residence, Grace (Athena Karkanis) tells Ben a reporter called from a magazine wanting to do an interview about her pregnancy and the fact it will be the first birth from a passenger of Flight 828. Ben and Grace agree to blow off the interview and are even upset about the reporter knowing about the pregnancy. Ben then has a calling – a vision of Saanvi on the plane him calling to her and her disappearing. He texts Michaela and goes to check on Saanvi.

Ben and Michaela arrive at Saanvi’s office and when they enter they find her passed out on the floor. She’s taken to the hospital and they wait to find out if she’s going to be okay.

Michaela gets a text and tells Ben she has to go while Ben learns from the doctor that Saanvi’s going to be okay. However, she was lucky they found her when they did.

Once it’s clear Saanvi’s all right, Ben tells her he’s upset she tested on herself and reminds her she can’t save any of the passengers if she’s dead. He makes her promise not to try it again and she agrees. Saanvi then tells Ben about the calling they both had but in hers, she was trying to help a young boy who was afraid. She gives Ben the seat number the boy was in during the calling and he says that a man named Finn was sitting in that seat on 828 – not a boy. He decides the best option is to talk to the man and see what the connection is.

T.J and Olive attempt to figure out the Tarot card clue and decide to go see if they can track down the Tarot reader who gave her the card three years ago. While trying to track her down, Olive and T.J. flirt a little.

Ben finds the Wall Street guy named Finn but he says he doesn’t have a son. He tells Ben he ended up having a one-night-stand with a woman in Jamaica. While they talk, Ben notices a childhood photo of Finn. The kid in the photo looks exactly like the kid in the calling.

Michaela arrives home to find Courtney beaten up. She confesses to Michaela and Zeke that she owes a drug dealer named Lucas $20,000. He sent some thugs over to send a message that until she pays up, she works for him.

Ben heads back to the hospital and tells Saanvi about Finn and the photo. He thinks Finn’s one-night-stand resulted in the birth of a child who’s the kid in their calling. Saanvi agrees and goes with Ben to track down the mother.

Manifest Season 2 Episode 6

Olive and T.J. find clues that lead them to the story of a 16th-century scholar who disappeared at sea and 10 years later returned saying he could hear the voice of God in his head. They can’t find any record of when he died, but Olive thinks it could have been 10 years after he returned. This could be proof the death date is real and that all of this – the callings – has all happened before.

Ben and Saanvi locate the woman Finn was with and she confesses she was married when she was in Jamaica and that her husband is the father of her son, Theo, who looks a lot like Finn.

Over at Michaela’s, Courtney tells Michaela that Zeke seems like he really wants to get clean this time and says it’s because of being with Michaela. Courtney explains Zeke used to always have a stash of pills somewhere hidden in his things. Zeke says he’s going to go talk to Lucas while Michaela has a calling of falling snow. She says she’s going with him. Michaela brings her partner, Drea (Ellen Tamaki), up to speed and has her back her up to try to bust Lucas.

Ben and Saanvi tell Finn about finding the woman and the fact she was married when he was with her. He asks if he can at least just meet the boy and they agree to try to set something up with the woman.

Zeke and Michaela meet with Lucas acting as though they want to do a deal with him and get him off Courtney’s back. Lucas says he doesn’t know Michaela and demands she shoot up some heroin to prove she’s not a cop. Michaela picks a fight with Zeke saying Lucas is a jerk and overcharging them. Lucas is about to do the deal just to get rid of them when one of his thugs recognizes Michaela as a cop. Lucas pulls out a gun but Zeke tackles him. Drea comes in with her firearm drawn and tells everyone to freeze.

Ben and Saanvi set up the meeting between Finn and his son, Theo. During the brief encounter, Saanvi has another calling and notices in it Theo has rings around his eyes. She realizes the boy’s liver is going to fail. Saanvi tells the mother to take him to the hospital right now and that it’s urgent. At the hospital, it turns out Finn is a perfect match for Theo and he agrees to give the boy part of his liver.

Meanwhile, Jared meets up with Tamara’s brother who tells him to get lost and stay away from his sister. Seems he did a little digging and knows Jared was once engaged to Michaela, a passenger on 828. Jared tells Tamara’s brother that Michaela came back different than the woman he loved and destroyed his life. Tamara’s brother relaxes and offers to buy Jared (who we’ve discovered is likely the mole inside the police department) a drink.

At the Stone home, Ben finds the research Olive and T.J. did and tells her he’s very impressed. She explains T.J. discovered something else and asks if she can go meet up with him. Ben says yes. A little later Grace suggests to Ben they do the magazine interview but lie and say it’s Danny’s baby to protect the child from those who fear and hate the 828 passengers. Ben’s shocked and upset Grace would suggest such a thing and tells her he will protect their child.

Zeke and Michaela come home to find Courtney has left. Zeke says his debt to her is paid and that she is on her own now.

T.J. makes a little picnic for Olive and himself and they flirt some more and kiss.

Saanvi is about to test on herself again when she, Ben, and Michaela have another calling. They see parts of Flight 828 with wreckage and ash strewn all around. “Oh my God, what is this?! Did we crash?” asks a stunned Michaela to Ben. Outside the wreckage stands Adrian.

Bull Series Details, Courtesy of CBS:

Bull stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull in a drama inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, the founder of one of the most prolific trial-consulting firms of all time. Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high-tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick. His personal life proves harder to manage as he tries to live a healthier lifestyle following a heart attack and learns he is expecting a child with his ex-wife.

Bull employs an enviable team of experts at Trial Analysis Corporation to shape successful narratives down to the very last detail. This includes his quick-witted former brother-in-law, Benny Colón, a lawyer who acts as defense attorney in the company’s mock trials; Marissa Morgan, a neurolinguistics expert from the Department of Homeland Security who monitors shifting jury reactions in real-time for Bull; former NYPD detective Danny James, the firm’s tough but relatable investigator; Taylor Rentzel, a working mother and former colleague of Marissa’s who is an expert in coding and computer hacking; and Chunk Palmer, a former all-American lineman and stylist-turned-law student who helps clients prepare their look and testimony for trial.

In high-stakes trials, Bull’s combination of remarkable insight into human nature, three Ph.D.’s and a top-notch staff creates winning strategies that tip the scales of justice in his clients’ favor.
