Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson will host the 5th ‘Clear The Shelters’ special set for August 23, 2019. The actual Clear The Shelters day is Saturday, August 17th and marks the end of the annual campaign to find forever homes for dogs, cats, and other homeless pets.
This year’s special will be a 30 minute recap of the shelter event.
More than 1,400 animal shelters participate in the Clear The Shelters day across the United States and Puerto Rico. During the Clear The Shelters day, adoption fees are waived or reduced in order to assist potential adopters. Since 2015, 250,000+ animals have been adopted on Clear The Shelters day.
“I am a huge animal lover and can tell you from personal experience that when you open your heart and home to a rescue animal, your pet will thank you every single day of its life. It’s the most beautiful and purest form of unconditional love you can ever have. I’m so excited for people to discover this feeling when they find their perfect pet on August 17, and to tell all the amazing pet adoption stories from this year’s Clear The Shelter’s campaign,” said singer/songwriter and The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson.
“Clear The Shelters is a summer tradition that communities everywhere look forward to. We’re excited for Kelly to host our special Clear The Shelters show to help us celebrate all the fun and heartwarming adoption stories from our 2019 campaign. We’re proud to join with animal shelters and rescues, as well as our affiliate station partners and sponsors, to present this annual event that celebrates animals and helps shelters match families with their new furry best friend,” stated Valari Staab, President, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.
In addition to her singing career, Clarkson’s been busy lending her voice to animated films. She brought “Moxy” to life in UglyDolls and is providing the voice of “Delta Dawn” in Trolls World Tour.

The CW’s set to launch season one of the British cop drama Bulletproof on August 7, 2019. New episodes of the six episode first season will arrive on Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT.
With the summer series about to premiere, The CW has released photos, a plot description, and cast list for episode one.
Season one stars Noel Clarke as Aaron Bishop, Ashley Walters as Ronnie Pike, Christina Chong as Officer Nell McBride, Lashana Lynch as Arjana Pike, and Mandeep Dhillon as Officer Kamali Khan. David Elliot plays Tim ’Jonsey’ Jones, Jason Maza is Officer Chris Munroe, Caroline Goodall is Charlotte Carmel, Clarke Peters is Ronald Pike, and Lindsey Coulson plays Sarah Tanner.
Series stars Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters executive produce along with Allan Niblo, Michele Buck, Judy Counihan, and Nick Love. The series is a Sky Original co-funded and distributed internationally by Sky Vision. Vertigo Films and Company Pictures produce.
The “Episode 1” Plot – HIT THE GROUND RUNNING – An informant is killed, leading Pike (Walters) and Bishop (Clarke) to uncover a luxury car theft ring. When two members of the team are taken hostage, Bishop accidentally shoots Jonesy (Elliot), but when he arrives at the ER to check on his mate, Bishop is the one who walks away wounded.
The Season 1 Plot:
Bulletproof is an action-packed, cop drama that unites big, emotional stories with blood-pumping stunt sequences, as it follows two undercover cops who are best friends and bonded by the same moral code, despite their very different backgrounds.
Adrenalin-fueled and packed with compelling characters, Bulletproof follows partners Bishop and Pike as they chase down hardened criminals in London’s East End. The series is both high-octane action and thrilling cases. On the surface, Bishop and Pike have a lot in common, they are cool, smart, unapologetically street-wise and tough; they share a deep, fraternal relationship and are always there for each other.
Their personal motivations and emotional lives outside the police force differ, Pike is an aspirational family man, the son of a decorated police officer, determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, but not in his shadow. Bishop on the other hand, who never knew his father, grew up in foster care and on the streets.

With today’s announcement, The 100 joins Arrow and Supernatural as long-running The CW shows that will be ending with the upcoming 2019-2020 season. Arrow starring Stephen Amell will go out with a shortened season eight that will include the much-anticipated “Crisis of Infinite Earths” crossover event. Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles decided the 15th season of the popular series should be the show’s final season, and they’re working with the writers on the perfect finale.
The CW’s Arrow star Stephen Amell earned a round of applause from the journalists at the conclusion of our roundtable interview. Stephen Amell’s been generous with his time when it comes to fans and the media, and we acknowledged his eight years as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow at the conclusion of our San Diego Comic-Con interview.
The 2019 Comic-Con marked Amell’s final appearance with the Arrow cast as the show heads into its eighth – and last – season. Season eight is set to premiere on October 15, 2019 and in our interview Amell dropped a few hints as to what’s in store.
What’s next for you after Arrow ends?
Stephen Amell: “I’m going to go home to LA. Walk my daughter to school, chill out for a little bit. It’s been a lot, man. It’s been a good solid eight years of working really, really, really hard, which is frankly, you know, all you can ask for as an actor.
But all of my favorite shows have announced that they were coming to an end. And I think that making that announcement gave us a lot of clarity towards the end of season seven and it has lit season eight on fire. We’re getting to do…like there are no bullets left in the chamber by the time we’re done. I think that’s cool.”
How much pressure is it to go out with a bang? You’ve got fans who are waiting for the final season and you want to walk away with the legacy that everyone remembers, positively.
Stephen Amell: “That’s a really difficult question because I love finales – all finales. I loved the last season of Game of Thrones. I loved the Lost finale. I loved the Seinfeld finale. I love all finales. I think that sometimes when they end with a bang, that’s great. When they end as an epilogue, cool. I don’t actually feel any pressure at all.
Pressure is taking a character who is on the outer rings of the DC hierarchy and having someone like Greg Berlanti make a bet on a series with an actor that didn’t have a lot of credits to his name. That’s pressure. We’ve already done it, right? I hope the last season is great. We’re going to do our f*cking best, but eehh.”
Do you feel like “Crisis on Infinite Earths” is a really good way to go out?
Stephen Amell: “Yeah. Can you think of better way?”
No.
Stephen Amell: “There you go. No, it’s a really cool way. It’s one of the most famous storylines across all of DC and for it to… Although we’ve got two episodes after ‘Crisis’ so it’s not totally how we’re going out. It’s just the last crossover.”
Can you tease anything about Oliver’s role in “Crisis?” I know you can’t give away any spoilers.
Stephen Amell: “No, I can’t. I can’t. Actually, okay, I’m playing more than one character in ‘Crisis.’ I’m not putting The Flash suit back on.”
Casey Jones again?
Stephen Amell: “That would be awesome! I think that there might be a little bit of a legal issue.”
We just got to see your new uniform. Obviously, you had an evolution of attire for Oliver over the years. How did this one feel in terms of the action? Does it feel more comfortable, organic, or is it different because it’s a new suit, new season?
Stephen Amell: “They said, ‘What do you want for your suit?’ I said, ‘I want a suit that’s like an homage to season one but like, you know, do your stuff with it.’ They go, ‘What kind of bow do you want?’ And I go, ‘Season one bow.’ And they are like, ‘But how?’ And I go, ‘What do you mean? I want the season one bow.’
They go, ‘We’ll goose it up a bit.’ I go, ‘Nuh-uh. I want the season one bow.’ And they kicked a bunch of ideas around and they called me and they’re like, ‘We’re going to go with the season one bow.’
So, the suit’s new and exciting, very comfortable, and we’re back to the cloth hood. It’s a really, really cool suit. They nailed it. Very comfy, but hot right now.”
What is the tone for this season? We hear it’s a little bit emotional at the beginning.
Stephen Amell: “You know, Oliver over the course of the first three episodes reconciles and gets closure with five different characters that I don’t think the fans ever thought he would get closure with.”
Are they current characters or returning characters?
Stephen Amell: “Sure.”
Are you taking anything from the set when you go?
Stephen Amell: “I stole a bow from the pilot. I just got it back from Sara (Caity Lotz) who I gave it to last year.”
Anything else?
Stephen Amell: “I don’t think so. I might buy the Queen mansion in Victoria BC, Royal Roads College. Not actually, but that would be a baller move. ‘Oh, Deadpool, you guys want to film here?’” (Makes the hand of the money gesture.)
What’s on Oliver’s bucket list?
Stephen Amell: “I don’t know, man. I don’t know. My priority playing the character this year, you know he’s had to leave Felicity, Mia, and William and he could sulk about it. I think it’s more interesting if he believes Felicity when she tells him, ‘I’ll find you. Wherever it is, wherever you are, I’ll find you.’ To me it’s more interesting if he believes that and marches forward with purpose.”

AMC’s second season of the critically acclaimed anthology series The Terror premieres on August 12, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT. The Terror: Infamy is set during World War II and focuses on “a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese-American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity responsible.”
The drama, which has supernatural elements, shines a light on the disturbing chapter in American history during which Japanese Americans were locked up in internment camps.
Cristina Rodlo (Miss Bala, Too Old to Die Young) was part of The Terror: Infamy cast who made the trip to the San Diego Comic-Con to promote the series. Catching up with Rodlo on the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con Bash red carpet, she talked about her role and the series’ setting.
The Terror: Infamy looks surprisingly timely. What can you tell me about the season?
Cristina Rodlo: “I think you said the right words, definitely ‘timely.’ With what’s happening right now at the border, we need to talk about this. In order to change history, we need to know history and I think many people don’t know that this happened. Japanese American’s were put into concentration camps and we’re doing it again with Latinos, so we need to change it.”
How much did you know about that time period?
Cristina Rodlo: “I didn’t know anything. I did the callback and Alex Woo, which is one of the executive producers and showrunner of the show, he asked me when I was doing the callback, ‘Do you know that this happened?’ I’m like, ‘I had no idea.’ He started telling me about what had happened and I was amazed. I couldn’t believe it because they don’t teach you that in school.”

Tell me about your character. Who do you play?
Cristina Rodlo: “My character is Luz. She’s a Mexican American who’s falling in love with a Japanese American. She is starting to become a nurse and then Pearl Harbor happens and she has to decide whether or not to continue with that relationship, because they were not allowed to be together. Because in that time period you couldn’t mix races. So, that’s the only thing I’m going to say because I don’t want to ruin it for you.”
And there’s a supernatural element to the show?
Cristina Rodlo: “Yeah, there is a supernatural woman that comes from Japan. And I cannot say too many things, but she comes to haunt the concentration camps.”
What did you love about your character? What was it you really latched onto?
Cristina Rodlo: “I love that Luz is very passionate. She’s super passionate, she’s naïve, she’s young, you know? She’s super young and thinks she can change the world. You know, that she can be better. She thinks she can be with a Japanese American and no one’s going to care when that’s not going to happen. I love that about her. I love that she still thinks that the world is good.”
Do you see yourself in her?
Cristina Rodlo: “Yes, definitely. She’s Mexican American, she’s passionate, she’s a warrior. So, you know, yeah.”

Their hunt draws the attention of Interpol agent Gwen Karlsson, who wants Farouk brought to justice, but won’t allow Danny and Lexi to break international laws in the process.
