‘Manifest’ Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: “Icing Conditions” Season Finale

It’s a race against time to try to save both Cal (Jack Messina) and Zeke (Matt Long) in the season two finale of NBC’s mystery drama, Manifest.

Episode 13 titled “Icing Conditions” picks up right where the last episode ended with Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) telling her brother, Ben (Josh Dallas), and sister-in-law, Grace (Athena Karkanis), about Cal being kidnapped. The three escaped meth dealers – Jace (James McMenamin), Pete (Devin Harjes), and Kory (DazMann Still) – have taken him hostage in exchange for the return of their drugs. An extremely upset Grace yells at Michaela to get her son back while Ben blames Michaela for the situation even existing because she didn’t listen to the calling that told her to let them go.

Ben believes the calling he had and the vision of Flight 828 exploding was about Cal. A distraught Michaela assures them she’ll get the stash of meth from evidence lockup at the precinct and arrange an exchange.

Vance (Daryl Edwards) and Dr. Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) team up to try to find a way to take down the Major and get the cure to the death date that Saanvi believes she and her research team have discovered.

Michaela tries to get the meth from lockup but the officer in charge gives her some attitude and says she needs verification. She calls Jared (J.R. Ramirez) since his name is on the paperwork and he arrives to back up Michaela’s story. Once they have the meth, Jared asks what’s going on and Michaela tells him about Cal being kidnapped. Jared says he’ll back her up and help with the exchange.

Saanvi has tracked the Major (Elizabeth Marvel) onto a ferry and confronts her, demanding the cure. The Major taunts Saanvi saying she’s not up to trying to take her on and she needs to leave. Saanvi lets slip that Vance is alive and threatens to go public with the information she has. The Major warns Saanvi if she does that she’s dead.

Michaela receives a call from Jace and his comrades with instructions on how to make the drop-off. Michaela heads there and has Ben placed strategically on a bridge above her. Jared and Michaela’s partner, Drea (Ellen Tamaki), are positioned in a building across from the bridge watching with binoculars.

Michaela sits on a bench and then gets up to walk away while leaving the bag full of meth behind. Unfortunately, a good Samaritan sees she left the bag and tells Michaela to retrieve it. When Michaela tries to explain she’s a detective, the bystander doesn’t believe her and calls for a patrol cop. He questions what’s going on which spooks the kidnappers who now believe they’re walking into a trap. They run off and Ben gives chase but is unable to catch up to them.

Back at the precinct, Captain Kate Bowers (Andrene Ward-Hammond) yells at Jared, Drea, and Michaela for not coming to her about the situation. She warns them that from now on they’ll follow protocol. Michaela, who’s having a horrible day, tries to quit but Captain Bowers refuses to accept her resignation.

Elsewhere, Jace, Pete, and Kory have made it to a remote cabin in the woods and are arguing about the failed exchange and what they should do. They quickly start blaming each other. While Kory and Jace keep arguing, Pete goes to check on Cal and gives him a blanket because he’s cold. Cal tells Pete he wishes he could tell his sister that he’s okay and it’s going to be okay.

Back at the Stone home, an extremely upset Michaela apologizes to Ben for the drop going bad and he blames her again for Cal being taken because she didn’t listen to the calling. Michaela, who’s barely holding back her tears, keeps apologizing and insisting she’ll get Cal back while Ben keeps saying their only hope to survive is to follow the callings.

Meanwhile, Vance and Saanvi go to a safe house that Vance has turned into a lab. Saanvi confesses to Vance about the Major now knowing he’s alive. That concerns him and he warns her against going rogue. They look over the data from Saanvi’s research and it appears Saanvi might have a cure for the death date in a week. “That’s six days too late for Zeke,” says Saanvi.

At the Stone home, a freezing Zeke has a calling and sees Cal standing over him in the woods as Zeke’s dying. Olive (Luna Blaise) receives a text from Cal telling her he’s okay and gives her a clue as to where he is. He writes “Doug” in the text and Olive remembers a few years back they nicknamed an old rundown diner in the Catskills that name. Zeke recognizes the woods around the diner as the trees from his calling.

Jared and Michaela try to convince Zeke to stay at the house but he refuses, adamant that he wants to help them try and save Cal. As Michaela and Ben leave, Zeke holds back for a few seconds. He tells Jared he’s glad he’ll be around for Michaela after he has passed away. Zeke then leaves to catch up with Ben and Michaela.

At the cabin, Jace, Pete, and Kory see the news report on TV about Cal and an amber alert. They argue about what to do with Cal and how to get away clean.

Ben, Michaela, and Zeke check in at the diner, but no one has seen Cal. They drive on and come to a fork in the road. They take the road that takes them the more rural route believing that’s the correct one. A short time later they come to the end of the road and Michaela and Ben have to continue on foot. Michaela tells Zeke to stay in the car because it’s heated, but nevertheless, he’s still freezing to death. Zeke says he got everything he ever wanted by marrying her – more than he deserved. A crying Michaela kisses Zeke for what she fears will be the last time.

Saanvi confronts the Major again and manages to infect her with anaphylaxis. She tells the Major she’ll give her the antidote only if she gives her the death date cure. They struggle and the vile with the antidote falls and breaks. Saanvi, in shock, begs the Major to tell her the cure but the Major only reveals she and her team found a way to replicate the mutation and weaponize it as she falls over, dying. Saanvi runs off saying she’s sorry and that this wasn’t how it was supposed to go.

Zeke’s lying in the back seat when he has another vision of Cal running in the woods on the iced-over lake. He gets out of the car and stumbles off to look for him.

Ben and Michaela spot the cabin but Jace notices their flashlights and says someone has found them. Jace instructs Pete and Kory to kill Cal, but Kory starts arguing that he’s not a killer and he didn’t sign up for killing a kid. While Jace and Kory argue, Pete grabs a knife and goes into the room where Cal’s being kept. Pete takes the knife and cuts Cal’s bonds telling him to run. Cal, being a smart kid, does as he’s told.

A few seconds later Jace sees Cal running off and goes after him, with Kory and Pete following telling him not to do it.

Ben and Michaela enter the cabin, determine everyone left in a hurry, and follow the kidnappers to the lake.

Cal runs out onto the iced-over lake trying to be careful not to break it. Jace, Pete, and Kory also run out onto the ice while Zeke approaches from a different direction. Michaela points her gun and yells to stop just as Jace catches up to Cal and points the gun at her. He reminds her what he told her and puts the gun to Cal’s head. Just then lightning strikes the ice and Cal, Jace, Pete, and Kory all fall into the freezing water and get pulled under.

Zeke, who’s closer to the hole created by the lightning, dives in to try to save Cal. Ben keeps reaching down to grab Cal and Zeke and pull them to safety. Underwater, Zeke finds Cal and brings him up to the hole in the ice. Ben’s able to pull Cal out and is just about to grab Zeke when Jace grabs Zeke’s leg and pulls him back down. The two men struggle and Zeke’s able to kick Jace off, sending him deeper into the icy water. Zeke again manages to find the hole in the ice and Ben grabs him and pulls him up.

Jace is now frozen and lets out a last dying breath as Cal stands over him begging him not to die. Michaela starts to cry but just then a bright glowing light appears. It glows for only a few seconds and vanishes. Right after it’s extinguished, Zeke takes a deep breath and asks, “I’m still alive…right?”

Vance finds Saanvi sitting in a ball on the floor of the lab crying. She confesses she killed the Major.

Back at home, Cal’s reunited with Grace and Olive. Hugs all around confirm they’re all extremely happy everyone survived. A little later Michaela talks to Ben and he apologizes for turning on her. She admits she felt as though she turned on herself not listening to the calling and being so obsessed with trying to save Zeke. Ben believes Zeke saving Cal and Zeke beating his own death date is proof they need to follow the callings.

Back at the lake, searchers inform Jared they’ve searched the entire lake and haven’t found the bodies of Jace, Pete, or Kory.

Ben has another calling and sees Flight 828 exploding above the ocean.

The final scene of season two finds fisherman out at sea attempting to bring up their net. It becomes stuck due to the weight of whatever is in it. They keep trying to lift it and eventually do so only to find it contains one of the wings from Flight 828. One of the fisherman says it can’t be the actual wing because the aircraft returned intact.

‘Prodigal Son’ Season 1 Episode 19 Photos: Preview of “The Professionals”

Dermot Mulroney guest stars on Fox’s Prodigal Son season one episode 19, “The Professionals.” The first season’s penultimate episode is set to air on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT.

Michael Sheen stars as convicted serial killer Dr. Martin Whitly and Tom Payne plays Dr. Whitly’s conflicted son, Malcolm Bright. The cast also includes Bellamy Young as Jessica Whitly, Lou Diamond Phillips as Gil Arroyo, Halston Sage as Ainsley Whitly, Aurora Perrineau as Dani Powell, Frank Harts as JT Tarmel, and Keiko Agena as Edrisa Tanaka.

“The Professionals” Plot – After a catastrophic turn of events, Malcolm and Ainsley are convinced there’s more to Nicholas Endicott (Mulroney) than meets the eye. Their only hope just might be an impromptu Whitly family reunion.

Season One Details:

“Malcolm Bright (Payne) has a gift. He knows how killers think and how their minds work. Why? Back in the 1990s, his father was one of the worst, a notorious serial killer called ‘The Surgeon.’ So it makes sense Bright is the best criminal psychologist around; murder is the family business.

He will use his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother, annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses.

Meet the happy family. Dr. Martin Whitly (Sheen) is intelligent, wealthy, charismatic and also happens to be a predatory sociopath who killed at least 23 people. Bright’s mother, Jessica Whitly (Young), an elegant and WASPy New Yorker, wields sarcasm like a samurai sword and has an opinion on every aspect of Bright’s life.

Perhaps Bright’s only ally is his sister, Ainsley Whitley (Sage), a TV journalist who wishes her brother would “take a break from murder” and have a normal life.

Unfortunately for his sister, the only way Bright feels normal is by solving cases with the help of his longtime mentor, NYPD Detective Gil Arroyo (Phillips). Arroyo’s one of the best detectives around, and he expects no less from his team – Detective Dani Powell (Perrineau), a headstrong no-nonsense cop who quickly becomes impressed with Bright’s work; and Detective JT Tarmel (Harts), a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself.

So much for normal.”

‘Ozark’ Season 1 Episode 5 Recap: “Ruling Days”

Ozark Season 1 Episode 5
Laura Linney and Jason Bateman in ‘Ozark’ season 1 episode 5 (Photo by Tina Rowden/Netflix)

Netflix’s Ozark season one episode five starts with an armed robber at a convenience store. A man who walked in during the robbery tries to talk the guy down, telling him he has a second chance but if he commits murder, he’ll go away for a long time. The robber doesn’t listen and shoots the guy. As the man lays there on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound, the image pans to the present day. That same man is floating in water and it’s revealed he’s Pastor Mason Young (Michael Mosley).

Bobby Dean’s body is found in the lake on Marty’s new property. It’s no surprise his body was dumped there and Marty (Jason Bateman) knows it. After Sheriff Nix (Robert C. Treveiler) shows up and finds out Marty recently bought the Lickety Splitz strip club, he begins to question if Marty had anything to do with Bobby’s death.

Marty’s driving when a man steps out into the middle of the road stopping him. Jacob Snell (Peter Mullan) introduces himself, telling Marty he and Bobby Dean had a business deal going on through the strip club. He’d like to continue that deal with Marty. Knowing that’s never going to happen, Marty informs Jacob his employer won’t allow it.

Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) meets a guy trying to help her while she carries stuff into the Blue Cat Lodge. He asks her to go to a party at the cove. She declines.

Ruth (Julia Garner) tells Marty everyone thinks he killed Bobby Dean. He asks her to oversee the strip club for a while because he needs to be at the Blue Cat for the holiday weekend.

Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) gets caught in the old man’s basement and asks if the lake’s dangerous. Buddy (Harris Yulin) wonders if he’s questioning the lake’s safety because of the body that was found. Buddy then takes Jonah shooting after Jonah tells him his parents don’t like guns. He asks Jonah why they moved there and Jonah explains they moved there for work. Buddy reveals he’s lived there for 30 years and everyone who’s moved here’s running from something. Jonah asks what he’s running from. Buddy doesn’t answer and continues to show him how to shoot.

Charlotte spots Wyatt (Charlie Tahan) at Blue Cat’s dock. She apologizes for the dead animal her mom threw at him. He in turn apologizes for the incident when they first met.

Rachel (Jordana Spiro) tells Marty he’s not good for business since the locals think he killed Bobby Dean. She believes he shouldn’t hang around the Blue Cat. When he asks her what she knows about Jacob Snell, Rachel says he lives on a farm and no one really knows what’s going on there.

Speak of the devil… Jacob and his wife, Darlene (Lisa Emery), walk through their property discussing Marty. Darlene tells Ash (Michael Tourek), one of their enforcers, “Now you know what you have to do for us about Mr. Byrde.” He replies, “Yes ma’am.”

As Ash walks away the camera pans to a field of opium.

Wendy comes home to find Gary’s son, Josh Silverberg (Ben Rappaport), at her house to ask questions about his dad’s death. He doesn’t believe his dad killed himself. Apparently, Gary was the happiest he’s ever been just 10 days before his death. Wendy insinuates it might have to do with her breaking things off between them.

Marty heads to the bar and Rachel’s there with a man. Marty and Rachel discuss whether the rain’s going to mess up the 4th of July weekend and he confides in Rachel that things are complicated at his house. “My wife is talking to her dead lover’s son right now,” says Marty.

Ruth hires new dancers for the strip club which pisses off the old strippers. They confront her and one brings up Ruth’s dad. Not a smart move at all as Ruth ends up beating her up.

Marty comes home and asks Wendy what Gary’s son knows. She explains he doesn’t believe his dad committed suicide and he’s talking to the police. She says he asked if she loved his dad and she said she didn’t. Marty asks her if that’s the truth. She replies yes.

Agent Roy Petty (Jason Butler Harner) is out jogging when Russ (Marc Menchaca) pulls over in his truck. Russ says he’s had second thoughts about hanging out together and agrees to continue fishing with him.

Marty brings his bill of sale to Sheriff Nix and the sheriff reveals he talked to the police in Chicago. “It seems your business partner and his girlfriend disappeared just before you moved to my little jurisdictional paradise here,” says Nix.

Nix warns Marty that whatever he’s up to here has to stop. He informs the Byrdes that Bobby died of an overdose. Wendy questions it. He tells her it’s better for everyone if they call it an overdose.

Petty and Russ go fishing and after loading up in Russ’s truck, Petty tries to kiss Russ. Russ hits him and orders him out of his truck.

Marty and Wendy continue to try and figure out how to make money. Wendy’s trying to get her husband into construction believing he’ll be able to move cash that way. Marty’s okay with that suggestion and they pay a visit to Pastor Mason, offering to build him a church. He declines saying he already has a church. One thing we know about the Byrdes is they don’t take no for an answer. Wendy proceeds to tell them a story from her childhood to try to get him to change his mind. Wendy asks Mason how he knew this was his calling. He tells them something happened in his life that led him to this path.

Jonah’s walking around in the woods with a gun. We can assume he’s not supposed to have it because he buries the gun in the woods.

Russ goes to see Petty at his motel. He tells him he’s not gay and it’s unclear who he’s trying to convince of that: Petty or himself. Right after making that declaration, Russ kisses Petty.

Charlotte goes on a date with Wyatt and Wendy’s not in the least bit happy about this pairing. Charlotte throws in her mom’s face that she tossed a dead animal at Wyatt. Wendy reluctantly lets her go.

Marty returns to the strip club and the place is packed. Ruth fills him in on the news the club has made $80,000. He wants her to keep the club and he’ll run the books. He’ll pay her $1,000 a week. Ruth gladly accepts.

Charlotte and Wyatt talk about books while sitting on top of his trailer.

Ash breaks into the Byrdes’ house while Wendy and Marty are out. Jonah hears someone walking around the house and sneaks into the woods, retrieving the gun he hid earlier. Ash begins to take pictures of the inside of the house. When Jonah comes back, Ash hears him and takes out his knife.

Marty goes to his storage unit where he’s keeping all the money. Ruth follows him and watches as he transfers the money from the strip club to storage. Marty then returns home to pick Jonah up to celebrate the 4th of July. Before leaving, Jonah hides the gun in the house.

Russ and Roy are lying in bed together talking when Russ warns him, “You tell anyone I’ll kill you.”

Jacob’s moving drugs in Bibles on the water, under the impression the cops can’t touch them on the lake. Pastor Mason has no clue what’s going on right under his nose; he thinks Ash is there just to hand out Bibles to the people in boats gathered for his sermons. Pastor Mason announces they’ll have a new home to hold his congregation on land. Mason lets all the people on the water know that it’s Marty and Wendy who are giving them a church. Ash is there to hear this news firsthand.

‘Ozark’ Season 1 Episode 4 Recap: “Tonight We Improvise”

Ozark Season 1 Episode 4

Money Laundering 101. Netflix’s Ozark season one episode four starts with Marty (Jason Bateman) narrating a tale of how to launder money. He then meets with a stripper who’s feeding him intel on the stripper club owner. She hands over a paystub he requested and tells him about the safe in Bobby Dean’s office.

Wendy (Laura Linney) tries to convince Marty to put all their assets in her name. He’s quick to reply, “That’s never going to happen.” He also assures her he’s never going to get arrested.

Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) has a chat with the old man who lives with them about dying.

Elsewhere, Wendy’s now working for the real estate agent who hooked them up with their house. While out posting open house signs, she has an idea.

While Marty’s on a phone call he spots his daughter in a bikini and asks her to put on more clothes. The Blue Cat owner, Rachel (Jordana Spiro), hears him speaking Spanish as he’s hanging out in the restaurant, understands what he’s asking, and begins to question him. He’s able to talk his way out of it.

Rachel then questions Ruth (Julia Garner), a known thief, when she spots her texting instead of working. She points out last week a couple came in and as they were dining, their home was being robbed.

Del (Esai Morales) calls Marty asking how his money’s coming along. He’s barely seen a million and wants to know where the rest is. If he fails, he’ll kill Marty’s family.

Marty asks Ruth to rob the strip club for him, offering her a 10% cut if she pulls it off. Ruth has to shoot her shot and says she wants 80%. They end up negotiating to 25%.

FBI Agent Roy Petty (Jason Butler Harner) investigates Ruth and her family and finds their long rap sheets. He takes a closer look at Russ Langmore, figuring that’s his way in.

Ruth shows up at the strip club and acts like she’s trying to get a job as a stripper. She ends up leaving when Bobby Dean (Adam Boyer) wants more from her than just an audition.

Jonah wanders off by himself, finds a dead wolf, and drags it back home. Marty catches him taking the guts out of the wolf. Clearly concerned, Marty tells Wendy about it but she just makes excuses for their son. (They don’t realize Charlotte catches them talking.) Wendy brings up her brother and wonders if it could be genetic, but doesn’t go into detail about what she meant by that.

Agent Petty strikes up a conversation with Russ. He offers to pay Russ $100 to show him where a good place is to go fly-fishing.

Marty and Wendy sit Jonah down for a talk. They need to know if he killed the animals they’ve been finding dead on their lawn. He admits he’s bringing the dead animals home so he can study vultures, but he insists he’s not killing them.

Wendy attempts to talk Marty into buying a house that’s half-built. He informs her he doesn’t have time to talk and leaves.

Ruth asks Marty for $2,000 but won’t tell him why. It turns out she needs it to pay five guys to help her with the strip club. She puts her plan into action and cops show up at the strip club because of reports shots were fired. The cops spot the young men in the club and question how old they are. (These are the guys Ruth paid to go inside the club.) While everyone’s distracted, Ruth gets busy. She can’t get the safe open, so Marty drags it out with his minivan. There’s no money inside and Ruth wants to know what Marty tricked her into.

The real goal’s revealed when Marty finds papers inside that will help him.

Russ and Petty go fly-fishing together and Russ opens up about his dad a little. Roy opens up about being gay.

Charlotte tells her parents she heard them talking and confronts them about being liars who think Jonah might shoot up a school. Jonah asks who said it. No one answers as Charlotte storms off.

Marty pays a visit to Bobby Dean in jail to buy his strip club, offering to bail him out and purchase the club for $200,000. Marty informs him he knows he’s also in the money laundering business. If that rattled Bobby in the slightest, he doesn’t show it. He refuses Marty’s offer. Marty asks him if he noticed his accounts were offline when he tried to post bail himself. He seems to have Bobby Dean’s attention now.

Marty asks why Bobby Dean went to Panama for a vacation, fully aware of the answer – Bobby was there laundering money. Marty goes on to tell him he knows he’s moving money around to countries without anyone knowing it. And, actually, his name isn’t on the company so how could Bobby Dean even own it?

Marty reveals he has the deed in his possession and proves that it’s not in Bobby Dean’s name. Now, he offers to buy the club for $175,000.

The next scene shows Marty introducing himself to the strippers as the new owner.

Agent Petty wants to hang out with Russ again, but after finding out Roy is gay, Russ blows him off. Petty then turns his attention to Ruth and introduces himself.

Marty’s a busy boy. First, he gives Ruth her $7,000 for helping him with the safe. He then informs Rachel he owns another business so he probably won’t be around as much. After that, he looks through Wendy’s phone and sees an unknown number she recently called. He dials it and it goes straight to Gary’s voicemail.

Wendy’s also been busy. She bought the house anyway that Marty told her not to. She asks what he did for their family today and he simply replies, “Bought a strip club.”

Gary’s son calls Wendy and asks about his father’s death. She hangs up on him.

Bobby Dean shows up to talk about Marty to a man named Jacob (Peter Mullan). He asks Bobby how much he knows about Marty and Jacob tells Bobby Dean a weird story about a hillbilly. Jacob’s wife, Darlene (Lisa Emery), brings more lemonade out and while bringing it to them she drops it. As Bobby Dean bends over to help her pick it up, Darlene injects something into his neck. He dies.

Marty’s son sees him counting money and asks Marty to teach him about it. The episode fades out with Marty explaining to Jonah how to launder money.

‘Roswell, New Mexico’ Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: “What If God Was One of Us?”

Roswell New Mexico Season 2 Episode 4

The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season two episode four picks up back in time where episode three left off, with Michael’s mom, Nora (Kayla Ewell), hiding out after escaping from the military. Tripp (Jason Behr from the original Roswell series), hot on the tail of the two female aliens who fled the scene of the crashed spaceship, shows up at the door of the stranger who took them in.

Tripp’s suspicious because the man’s got blood on his shirt, but a child runs up and explains the blood’s from a coyote.

After Tripp leaves, the good Samaritan says he can only hide the ladies out for one night. He has an inkling there’s something weird about the women but that doesn’t stop him from helping them as much as possible. He’s not sure they understand him, yet he explains he’s going to be fired because the crops won’t grow and needs them to leave before getting him in more trouble.

The following morning the kid returns, excited about something in the field. Overnight Nora’s made the crops flourish! The kind man believes it’s a miracle and the kid thinks it was the women’s way of saying thanks.

And now to current events… Kyle (Michael Trevino) can’t believe Michael’s using pinball parts and a car battery to charge Max’s pod. He and Liz (Jeanine Mason) chat while whipping up breakfast, and they plan out the open-heart surgery Kyle will have to perform. They toast to “a groundbreaking achievement no one can ever know about,” and actually seem pretty optimistic.

Grant Green (Peter Diseth) makes quite the appearance at the café, inviting all the customers over to his place to learn about aliens and grab a malt. Isobel (Lily Cowles) is taking it all in from a nearby booth and locks the door just so Grant runs into it as he’s being ushered outside by Liz.

Liz, who looks like the weight of the world is no longer resting on her shoulders, is impressed by Isobel’s new talent. Isobel’s also got a real positive vibe going on, but Liz wonders why she’s been hanging out so much. Isobel reveals she’s been kind of following Liz’s dad, Arturo, around and has figured out that just maybe with her influence she can get him to understand and accept Rosa’s resurrection. Liz is skeptical but Isobel really wants to help, especially given how much Liz is trying to bring Max back.

Michael (Michael Vlamis) is hanging out by himself when Alex (Tyler Blackburn) shows up. Michael jokes he doesn’t have many friends and Alex reveals Maria told him she’ll keep his secret. Alex wonders if Mimi DeLuca was actually abducted and has been telling the truth all this time. Michael confirms he’s looking into it.

The subject changes to research Michael’s been doing on the photo from the old newspaper. The man who rescued his mom turns out to be Roy Bronson and the farm he worked on experienced record-breaking crops during the summer of 1947.

In October 1948 right after the article ran, the farm was destroyed by a fire caused by a bolt of lightning. It happened the same day Michael’s mom was locked up in prison. He’s desperate for more information on what happened all those years ago.

Back at the café, Isobel begins her plan to use her powers to get Arturo (Carlos Compean) to accept Rosa’s been brought back from the dead. When she gets inside his head, she learns what it is he wants the most: forgiveness for how he treated Rosa.

Another flashback reveals the two women are healed, happy, and can now speak English proficiently. Roy’s the perfect host and everything seems to be humming along just fine. However, the kid – whose name turns out to be Walt – notices Nora’s looking a bit sad. She admits she’s missing her son who she says owns her whole heart and is both smart and brave. She indicates Walt’s going to meet him as soon as it’s safe.

Decades later, Alex and Michael look around the same barn where Nora and her friend hung out with Roy and Walt. Alex and Michael notice notches on a post and it appears Nora, Walt, and Roy measured their heights together. Plus, there’s a mark for Louise – Isobel and Max’s mother – which is the first solid confirmation she’s the other woman who was rescued with Nora.

Their talk’s interrupted by the arrival of a guy who calls Michael “Alien Guy.” Michael responds with “Nazi Guy,” which leads Alex to call himself “Totally Confused Guy.” The “alien guy” and “Nazi guy” labels come from what they’re looking up at the library when they both happen to be there at the same time. Anyway, Nazi guy – whose real name is Forrest – says back in 1947 it wasn’t aliens Roy was hiding in the barn…it was Nazi spies!

He further explains there was a Nazi internment camp in Roswell and the iron crosses around the city were left by Nazi prisoners who built half the city. It turns out this property’s been in his family for ages, and it was his great grandfather’s foreman who hid the women in the barn.

Forrest also reveals everyone thought the Nazis were building a bomb in the barn. The Air Force set the place on fire to cover up the massacre that happened when they discovered the weapon.

Back at Liz’s place, Rosa (Amber Midthunder) has just shorted out the blender when she hears someone come through the front door. She decides the best course of action is to launch the blender at the intruder. Thankfully, Isobel’s able to bat it away before it makes contact.

Isobel’s surprisingly understanding as to why Rosa would want to hit her, but Rosa explains she’s fully aware it was Noah who murdered her. She doesn’t blame it on Isobel at all.

Isobel lays out her plan, explaining she’ll use her powers to get Arturo to understand and accept Rosa’s returned from the dead. Although they both know Arturo believes in miracles, Isobel’s sure he doesn’t think he deserves one. She asks for Rosa’s help in making the plan work.

Over at the hospital, Kyle continues to put himself in danger of getting fired by helping Isobel. When she needs to steal something, he helps out and only Liz kissing him seems to save him from getting busted by his boss. He confesses he’s always doing something for her, including risking his job and medical license. He always puts her first while she always puts Max first. He has feelings for her but she loves him like family. But, no matter what, he’ll help her save Max. After that, they’ll just have to see where it goes. He can’t always be her rock.

Later, Kyle meets his mom at her office to celebrate her birthday. She won’t let Noah’s death go and has now settled on the theory Max must have poisoned Noah before he took him to the desert. Plus, Isobel was somehow in on it. Kyle wants her to accept that Noah was struck by lightning and that’s all there is to it.

Michael and Alex sit around a campfire and Michael’s a happy camper. It turns out that part of what Forrest showed them helped Michael understand something he’s been trying to figure out for years. Nora wasn’t working on a bomb; she was working on a ship to get them home. It would have been big enough for Nora, Louise, and Michael to use to escape.

Alex has his own news to share. Tripp was his great uncle and he personally led the assault on the barn. Apparently, he hunted Nora and Louise for a year. He shot Roy point blank while he was unarmed and with the women in the barn. Nora was taken into custody and tortured in the alien prison for decades.

Tripp set the barn ablaze, despite being told there was a boy inside.

Alex apologizes but Michael knows he didn’t have anything to do with it. Alex turns over the piece of Michael’s console he’s been secretly in possession of for months. He confesses he didn’t want to give it to Michael before because he was afraid he’d use it to leave. Alex didn’t want him to go.

He hands it over and says, “I will not be another Manes standing in your way.”

The café’s closed when Isobel’s plan is put into action. Arturo hears Rosa’s favorite song and then finds his should-be-deceased daughter standing by the door. Isobel uses her powers to tell Arturo that he may not believe he deserves this miracle, but he needs to believe Rosa does deserve it. “She deserves a second chance. She deserves a million second chances. You’re her miracle, Arturo,” says Isobel.

Rosa and Arturo only stop hugging when Liz arrives. She confesses she’s known about Rosa’s resurrection but didn’t think Arturo would understand. He decides when God grants you a miracle, you don’t question it. You give thanks.

The Ortecho family share a group hug as Isobel watches from the sidelines. Liz has tears in her eyes when she glances at Isobel. She’s beaming with happiness and the look she gives Isobel expresses her gratitude better than any words.

Jenna (Riley Voelkel) is leaving town after learning more about her sister from Jesse Manes. She stops abruptly when she spots a dead deer in the center of the road. She gets out to take a look and almost immediately a bright light appears overhead. It seems she’s about to be abducted by aliens!

Isobel visits Max’s pod and has a lengthy one-sided discussion about God. She promises if he grants this one little miracle, she’ll never ask for anything again.

The episode ends with the battery hooked up to Max’s pod malfunctioning and then going out. Inside the pod, Max opens his eyes.
