The Plot, Courtesy of NBC:
“After being abducted by Katarina Rostova, Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington (Spader) finds himself alone in hostile territory, unsure of who, if anyone, he can trust. Surrounded by old enemies and new allies, Red must stay one step ahead of the Blacklist’s most dangerous criminal, who will stop at nothing to unearth the very truth Red wants no one to know about. To find it, Katarina will insinuate herself into the life of Elizabeth Keen (Boone), who has finally reunited with her daughter Agnes. Katarina’s presence will bring danger to Liz’s doorstep and forever alter her relationship with Red.”
The trailer for season three of HBO’s Westworld begins with a voiceover by Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood). “I was born into this world. And my first memories of it are…pain. For my kind, there was one place we were never allowed to go, one place we were never allowed to see. Your world.”
The powerful new trailer for the critically acclaimed sci-fi drama continues with Caleb (a new character played by Aaron Paul) and Dolores meeting. She tells him someone – or something – has been watching him. She also informs him they’re a lot alike since both have had their lives decided for them. Later in the trailer, Dolores reveals to Caleb that if her plan doesn’t work as proposed, they will kill everyone.
The trailer also features a scene of Maeve (Thandie Newton) being asked by the new character Vincent Cassel’s playing to kill Dolores. We don’t see her accept that request, however there’s a brief clip in the trailer that seems to show the two squaring off to fight.
William (aka the Man in Black, played by Ed Harris) also returns for the third season and it appears he’s been locked up. “Welcome to the end of the game,” says Dolores while caressing his face. The trailer slips in another scene of William, this time revealing his quest for the third season. “I finally understand my purpose. I’m gonna save the f**king world,” he says.
“The real gods are coming and they’re very angry,” warns Dolores as the trailer ends.
Additional returning cast members include Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore, and Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton. Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, Marshawn Lynch, John Gallagher Jr., Michael Ealy, and Tommy Flanagan join the cast for the third season.
Season three will premiere on March 15, 2020.

Poster for Ryan Murphy’s ‘Hollywood’ (Photo Credit: Netflix)
Netflix has set a May 1, 2020 premiere date for the original limited series, Hollywood. The seven-episode series comes from writer/executive producer Ryan Murphy and takes place during Tinseltown’s golden age.
In addition to debuting a poster and announcing the premiere date, Netflix released a list of the key cast and the characters they’re playing:
David Corenswet is Jack, Darren Criss (American Crime Story) is Raymond, Jeremy Pope is Archie, Laura Harrier (Spider-Man Homecoming) is Camille, Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) is Claire, and Dylan McDermott (No Activity) is Ernie. Holland Taylor (Mr. Mercedes) plays Ellen Kincaid, Patti LuPone (Pose) is Avis, Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) is Henry Willson, Jake Picking (Sicario: Day of the Soldado) is Rock Hudson, Joe Mantello (Central Park West) is Dick, and Maude Apatow (Euphoria) plays Henrietta.
Guest stars include Mira Sorvino and Rob Reiner. Ian Brennan and Janet Mock joined Murphy as writers and executive producers.
The Plot:
“A new limited series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, Hollywood follows a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown — no matter the cost. Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day.
Provocative and incisive, Hollywood exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.”

Lina Esco stars as Christina “Chris” Alonso, Kenny Johnson is Dominique Luca, David Lim is Victor Tan, Amy Farrington is Lieutenant Piper Lynch, and Patrick St. Esprit plays Commander Robert Hicks. Louis Ferreira plays Buck and Cory Hardrict is Nate.
“Animus” Plot – The SWAT team searches for a link between the seemingly unconnected victims of a lone gunman targeting women. Also, Luca assists with a homicide investigation in his neighborhood; Lieutenant Lynch pushes Chris to do a news interview; and Hondo reaches a juncture in his relationship with Nichelle.
S.W.A.T. Description, Courtesy of CBS:
Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant, tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, Daniel ”Hondo” Harrelson strives to bridge the divide between his two worlds and acclimate to his new duties as the legal guardian of a teenager.
Hondo’s elite unit includes David “Deacon” Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer and dedicated family man who always puts the team first; Christina “Chris” Alonso, a skilled officer and the team’s canine trainer; Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high risk situations; Victor Tan, who started in the LAPD Hollywood Division and uses his confidential informants in the community to help the team; and Jim Street, the team’s cocky newest member who is re-instated to S.W.A.T. after being fired for compromising the unit.
Responsible for the management of all Metro Division S.W.A.T. units is Commander Robert Hicks, a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau. Overseeing Hondo’s team is Hicks’ direct report, Jessica Cortez, the ambitious captain of L.A. Metro weighing an offer to leave S.W.A.T and work for the FBI. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men and women bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives.
Al Pacino and Logan Lerman in ‘Hunters’ (Photo Credit: Christopher Saunders / Amazon Studios)
Amazon Prime’s Hunters is a stylish, genre-bending, and fascinatingly pulpy tale of revenge against the grotesque atrocities committed by Nazis in WWII. In many ways, it’s surprisingly similar to Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, with Oscar-winner Al Pacino’s Holocaust survivor Meyer Offerman in place of Oscar-winner Brad Pitt’s Lt. Aldo Raine.
Weirdly, it works.
The 10-episode first season is set in 1977 and focuses on an eclectic group of hunters tracking Nazis who are hiding out in America. Many of these war criminals are actually hiding in plain sight, thanks to assistance from the U.S. government. They’ve taken new identities and, in some cases, high-level jobs but deep down they’re still the despicable human beings who sent millions of innocent Jewish men, women, and children to their deaths in concentration camps.
Pacino’s millionaire financier Meyer Offerman is the leader of this close-knit secret organization. He not only decides who to target next on the group’s list of most-wanted Nazis, but he’s also financially capable of self-funding the organization. Meyer makes no bones about the fact that revenge delayed is still justified and still satisfying.
It’s through the eyes of an initially reluctant new recruit played by Logan Lerman that we are introduced to the other members of this secret club of vigilantes. Lerman plays Jonah Heidelbaum, a self-proclaimed comic book geek who’s drawn into this deadly world of Nazi hunters after his beloved grandmother is murdered. Her death exposes the young man to a life of tracking Nazis she kept hidden.
Meyer introduces Jonah to the lethal collection of Nazi hunters, each possessing a special skill or talent that makes them crucial to the group’s success. It’s during this introduction to the key players that Hunters is at its most garishly ‘70s retro and Tarantino-esque. Each member of the team is introduced like a crime-fighting superhero complete with a tidy little backstory package highlighting their contributions to killing Nazis – and a movie poster.
Kate Mulvany’s Sister Harriet is a former member of MI6 and Josh Radnor’s Lonny Flash is described as a master of mimicry and disguise. Tiffany Boone’s Roxy Jones is a Black Power activist who looks straight out of a ‘70s blaxploitation film. Roxy’s talents include forgery, counterfeiting, and cleaning crime scenes. Plus she rocks killer costumes.
Louis Ozawa’s Joe Mizushima got his training during three tours of duty as a soldier in Vietnam. And last but not least, Holocaust survivors Mindy (Carol Kane) and Murray Markowitz (Saul Rubinek) are the team’s gadget-making experts. (Their poster’s tagline: “A couple of Chabad-asses.”)
While the Nazi hunters are busy seeking retribution, FBI Agent Millie Morris (Jerrika Hinton) is separately delving into the deaths of elderly Germany immigrants.
Amazon provided the first five episodes of Hunters for review and those episodes focused on developing Lerman and Pacino’s characters while the rest of the Nazi hunters filled in various blanks in the storylines. The assorted members of the team are all interesting and, hopefully, their stories will be further fleshed out in later episodes.
The series makes a point of never portraying these Nazi criminals as sympathetic, even while showing them to be hiding out disguised as hard-working family men/women. It also never shies away from graphic scenes of violence both in Nazi Germany’s concentration camps and in the group’s murder of Nazis in ‘70s New York.
Al Pacino does a terrific job of leading the talented ensemble. And Logan Lerman has never been better than as this naïve young man who’s forced into confronting evil on a level he never dreamed existed in his pot-selling, comic-book loving world.
Hunters asks – and occasionally answers – a lot of philosophical questions, not the least of which is whether eye for an eye can be morally justified in the most heinous crimes. Although the first couple of episodes were a little too all over the place, by episode four the hours invested in binge-watching really payoff.
Hunters will premiere on Friday, February 21, 2020.

The cast of season three includes Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Hawkins, Emily VanCamp as Nicolette “Nic” Nevin, Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Randolph Bell, and Manish Dayal as Dr. Devon Pravesh. Shaunette Renee Wilson plays Dr. Mina Okafor, Malcolm-Jamal Warner is Dr. AJ Austin, Jane Leeves is Dr. Kitt Voss, and Glenn Morshower is Marshall Winthrop. Morris Chestnut joins the cast as Dr. Barrett Cain.
“Reverse Cinderella” Plot – When Nadine’s father comes to town for her birthday, Devon enlists the help of the whole staff, as well as one of his patients, to ensure that he makes the best first impression. Red Rock decides to cut the entire OBGYN department and Logan Kim leaves Conrad with the difficult task of letting the residents go.
Meanwhile, Nic cares for a teenage patient whose condition is deteriorating.
The Season 3 Plot, Courtesy of Fox:
Entering its third season, The Resident continues to rip back the curtain and reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country. The provocative medical drama follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital, as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis while fighting for their patients.
In season three, Red Rock Mountain Medical has taken over, inserting its own doctors – including new neurosurgeon Dr. Barrett Cain – and nurses into the well-oiled machine that was once Chastain Memorial Hospital, and causing the doctors to fight harder than ever against the corrupting influence of money in healthcare. The hospital is being run like a profit-hungry corporation – reaping huge financial gains, while risking the lives of its patients.
Dr. Randolph Bell is well-aware of the dangerous deal he has made with Red Rock in order to get Chastain out of its financial crisis and, as a result, initially turns a blind eye to the new corporate mantra of profits over patients. It’s not long before Dr. Conrad Hawkins incurs Red Rock’s fury when he confronts the problems head-on, becoming a whistleblower. The good fight he leads could ultimately threaten everything he holds dear, including his ability to practice medicine.
The Justice League of young healthcare providers must unite to fight for and with him, with Nicolette “Nic” Nevins in the lead. Nic attempts to recover from a devastating personal loss by throwing herself into patient care and her work for the uninsured through her clinic.
Dr. Devon Pravesh will find himself rotating out of the ER and gaining experience and power of his own in new positions within the hospital, eventually moving up to a first-year resident. Dr. AJ Austin will continue to bond with his mentee, the exceptionally talented surgeon, Dr. Mina Okafor. She’ll be his support as he navigates a relationship with his complicated biological family, while striving to maintain one with the parents who raised him. Okafor will be faced with a potential new family dynamic of her own, when her best friend, Adaku, who carries the BRCA breast cancer gene, returns pregnant with no father in the picture.
Meanwhile, the power and ruthlessness of new neurosurgeon Dr. Cain takes the hospital by storm. He embodies all the evil that can result when doctors care more for the bottom line than for their patients. Dr. Kitt Voss is the first to realize that his charm hides a medical demon, but standing against him could have serious consequences for her future. Cain’s ability to generate millions for Chastain leaves him free to exact swift revenge on those who oppose him – and no one is off-limits.
NBC’s New Amsterdam‘s season two episode 15 finds the hospital and Max in particular, confronting the opioid epidemic. Episode 15, “Double Blind,” will air on February 25, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT.
The cast is led by Ryan Eggold as Dr. Max Goodwin. Freema Agyeman plays Dr. Helen Sharpe, Janet Montgomery is Dr. Lauren Bloom, Jocko Sims is Dr. Floyd Reynolds, Anupam Kher plays Dr. Vijay Kapoor, and Tyler Labine is Dr. Iggy Frome.
“Double Blind” Plot – When tasked with turning the opioid epidemic around, Max shuts down the ED and proposes a massive change. Meanwhile, Sharpe goes great lengths to prove a point.
The Series Plot, Courtesy of NBC:
“Inspired by the oldest public hospital in America, this unique medical drama follows the brilliant and charming Dr. Max Goodwin, the institution’s newest medical director who sets out to tear up the bureaucracy and provide exceptional care. How can he help? Well, the doctors and staff have heard this before.
Not taking ‘no’ for an answer, Dr. Goodwin must disrupt the status quo and prove he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital — the only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers and the President of the United States under one roof — and return it to the glory that put it on the map.”

“Wait, I know you! You and your husband Joseph McCulloch…you founded McCulloch Technologies. You’re Eva McCulloch, but you’re supposed to be dead,” says a very confused Iris (Candice Patton). “Not dead – just trapped,” replies Eva (Efrat Dor) as Iris discovers she’s not alone in a mirror dimension in season six episode 12 of The CW’s The Flash.
The episode begins right where episode 11 left off, with Iris pounding on the other side of the mirror trying to tell Barry that the Iris with him is not her. She soon meets Eva McCulloch who disappeared six years ago and has been presumed dead. Eva explains she ended up trapped in this mirror dimension the night of the particle accelerator explosion. She was sent crashing into and through the mirror along with dark matter.
She and Iris are trapped in a “fractal dimension” that humans can’t see – a mirror world where everything is backward.
Over at Ralph’s (Hartley Sawyer) office, he’s obsessively going over the case of Sue Dearbon looking for a new lead. Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) suggests he take a break and that they should team up on the case. Ralph thanks her for her interest but would rather go it lone wolf-style.
Ralph then sees a hit on a marked Sue Dearbon account which he follows to a broken-down apartment. He’s about to go in when a woman races out and tackles him just as the apartment explodes. It’s Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss).
Mirror Iris asks Barry if he can get her the mirror gun for her research on the Black Hole organization. Barry tells her no because it’s too dangerous, especially if it falls into the wrong hands.
A little later at Ralph’s office, Sue explains her ex is trying to kill her because she discovered he’s an illegal arms dealer. Ralph thinks they should go to the police, but she’s sure he has cops on his payroll. So, Ralph and Sue team up to get evidence on her former husband so Sue can get her life back.
Back in the mirror dimension, Iris and Eva discuss finding a way to escape. Eva’s convinced after six years of being trapped that there is no way out. Iris remembers when Barry was trapped inside a mirror by Mirror Master that Caitlin got him out by freezing the mirror below zero to get it to break. Eva thinks that might work and retrieves liquid nitrogen from her lab.
Over at the precinct, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) asks Barry to look into a closed case that was ruled an accident. Barry asks why and Joe confesses he has suspicions about an insider working with the person committing crimes. Joe asks Barry to report only to him about his findings.
Ralph and Sue attempt to take photos of an arms deal but a thug catches Ralph and destroys his camera. Sue surprises the thug and high-kicks him; it seems she knows some karate.
Later, the unlikely duo case the office of Sue’s ex, Loring. Ralph finds a key to a safe deposit box and then they’re forced to run from guards who’ve discovered them. Ralph uses his stretch abilities and lowers them to the street, revealing himself as the Elongated Man to Sue who is noticeably impressed.
Iris and Eva freeze the mirror and it breaks into pieces. Unfortunately, they’re still trapped in the mirror dimension. Eva’s upset and starts to vent to Iris, telling her about having to watch her husband through the mirror grieve her and eventually move on after six years.
Meanwhile, Mirror Iris sneaks into the Starchives looking for the mirror gun when she bumps into Nash (Tom Cavanagh) who tells her he’s standing watch over things while Cisco’s away. Mirror Iris lies and says she was looking for Nora’s journal and asks Nash to not tell Barry because she doesn’t want to upset him. Nash agrees to keep it a secret.
While they talk, Nash keeps seeing Harry Wells from Earth-2. Earth-2’s Harry taunts him about what he’s really doing in the Starchives. Iris leaves empty-handed; Nash leaves with Harry’s diary.
Sue talks Ralph into helping her steal the evidence, which she says is a ledger full of her ex’s illegal activity that’s locked up in a safety deposit box. Ralph and Sue pose as Joe West and a cop to get access to the safety deposit vault. Once inside, Sue opens the box and removes an object that doesn’t look anything like a ledger. That’s when Sue high-kicks Ralph and locks him in the vault. (He really should have seen that coming.)
At the CCPD, Barry confirms Joe’s suspicions about his case were right. It was not an accident. Barry says the fire was started by UV light rays the same way Dr. Light torched Iris’ newspaper’s office.
Joe confesses several cases of accidental deaths he’s given a second look don’t appear to be accidental. All the victims are associated with a man named Joseph Carver. Joe thinks Carver has a mole in the CCPD.
Barry reveals Iris is already investigating Carver and wanted the mirror gun but he didn’t give it to her fearing it was too dangerous. Joe encourages him to give it to her and that right now they can only trust family.
Back in the mirror dimension, Iris and Eva argue about trying to get out and Eva gets angry which causes a piece of the broken mirror to fly right into her hand. Iris encourages her to try to rebuild the mirror focusing her anger and mind. It works and the mirror’s pieced back together.
Back in the vault, Ralph realizes Sue has played him. Almost everything she told him was a lie. It seems she’s a thief and she doesn’t want Ralph telling her parents or she will out his secret identity. As she leaves, she finds Loring and his thugs waiting for her. Ralph uses his powers and snakes himself through the sprinkler system pipes and pops out just in time to create a protective shield from Loring and his thugs’ bullets.
The shooting stops and Ralph and Sue discover the thugs have been knocked out by Ultraviolet (Alexa Barajas) who hits Ralph with a ray and knocks him across the room. Sue and Ultraviolet engage in hand-to-hand combat and Sue wins, escaping with a large diamond that was in the safety deposit box.
Ultraviolet leaves but Loring and his thugs get up to take out Ralph. That’s when The Flash and Joe show up and take them down.
The next day at S.T.A.R. Labs Ralph tells Barry and Iris all about Sue and how she played him. Barry and Mirror Iris try to be supportive but Ralph isn’t in the mood for listening.
That night Barry gives Iris the mirror gun in their apartment saying he trusts her. Mirror Iris thanks Barry, turns, and smirks.
The last scene shows Sue holding the very large diamond and scanning it.
The Flash Season 6 Episode 12 Review:
Tongue-in-cheek and at times a bit too cute, episode 12 titled “A Girl Named Sue” introduces the long-lost Sue Dearbon and provides answers to what happened to Iris as well as some information about the mysterious mirror dimension. It also introduces a sense of paranoia about who can be trusted at the CCPD.
After such a slow, steady, and interesting build-up to finding Sue Dearbon, the episode plays out like a third-rate private eye feature with Ralph suddenly becoming unbelievably and uncharacteristically naïve and taking everything Sue says at face value. (If he had this kind of intuition and training when he was a detective, he would have been killed long ago!) Another problem with the episode is the fact Danielle Panabaker is missing completely as Caitlin and Frost. Her absence, along with Carlos Valdes as Cisco, is felt greatly.
With Iris working with Eva to try to escape the mirror dimension and Mirror Iris now having the mirror gun in her possession, things are about to get exciting and troubling for Team Flash.
