We’re not quite done with checking in on the lives of the occupants of Downton Abbey. Focus Features confirmed today that Downtown Abbey 2 will reunite the original main cast of the series for a second feature film.
Production has just begun and Focus Features is targeting a December 22, 2021 premiere.
“After a very challenging year with so many of us separated from family and friends, it is a huge comfort to think that better times are ahead and that next Christmas we will be reunited with the much-beloved characters of Downton Abbey,” said Gareth Neame, the film’s producer and executive chairman of Carnival Films.
Downton Abbey series creator Julian Fellowes (Best Original Screenplay Oscar winner, Gosford Park) wrote the screenplay and will produce with Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning Gareth Neame and Emmy Award-winning Liz Trubridge. BAFTA nominee Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) is on board to direct.
“There’s no place like home for the holidays, and we can’t imagine a better gift than getting to reunite with Julian, Gareth, and the entire Downton family in 2021 to bring the Crawley’s back home for their fans,” stated Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski.
Downton Abbey starred Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Robert James-Collier, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Harry Hadden-Paton, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Sophie McShera, Lesley Nicol, Penelope Wilton, and two-time Academy-Award winner Maggie Smith (California Suite, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie).
Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West join the cast for Downton Abbey 2.
A Look Back at the First Downton Abbey Film’s Description:
The television series followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country house. The initial film followed a Royal Visit to the Crawley family and Downton staff from the King and Queen of England and ended with a ball fitting for the Royal Family.
Barring a last-minute miracle, CBS’s MacGyver will end its five season run with episode 15, “Abduction + Memory + Time + Fireworks + Dispersal.” Passionate fans of the drama have been busy on social media attempting to get CBS or another network/streaming outlet to resurrect MacGyver for season six. MacGyver fans have even launched a petition on Change.org which, as I’m typing this, has over 16,000 signatures. Episode 15 will air on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT. The series finale was directed by David Straiton from a script by Monica Macer, Alessia Costantini, Andrew Klein, and Stephanie Hicks.

MacGyver, a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver, who is part of a clandestine organization within the U.S. government, where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem-solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe are Riley Davis, an unpredictable computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder; Wilt Bozer, Mac’s roommate and an agent on the team; Matty Weber, a legend in Covert Ops and the director of operations at the Phoenix Foundation; Desi Nguyen, whose job is to protect MacGyver and his team on their global missions; and Russ Taylor, quick-witted, Oxford-educated, ex-military skilled in propaganda and lie detection, who shakes things up by challenging the way MacGyver and the team are used to doing things.

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights will be the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival’s Opening Night film. The film will have its world premiere at the United Palace theater in Washington Heights, the same neighborhood where In the Heights is set.
“It is such an honor to open the 20th anniversary Tribeca Film Festival with In the Heights. We’re so excited to welcome them uptown! This will be an unforgettable night at the United Palace. We can’t wait to share this musical love letter to our community, with our community, in our community,” said Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and producer of the Tony Award-winning musical that inspired the film.
The world premiere screening will take place on June 9th and, according to the festival’s official Opening Night announcement, “the festival’s opening night will be screened simultaneously across all five boroughs in multiple open-air venues.” The 20th anniversary of the Tribeca Film Festival runs June 9th – June 20th and will be the first major in-person film festival since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The cast included Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Melissa Barrera, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Gregory Diaz IV, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco, and Jimmy Smits. Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) directed and Quiara Alegría Hudes adapted the screenplay. Miranda, Hudes, Scott Sanders, Anthony Bregman, and Mara Jacobs served as producers.

CBS’s SWAT returns after a two-week break with season four episode 14, “Reckoning.” Directed by Maja Vrvilo from a script by Amelia Sims, episode 14 will air on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT.
The upcoming episode is the first to air since the network announced S.W.A.T. has been renewed for a fifth season. MacGyver is ending after five seasons, but S.W.A.T. will return as will NCIS, Magnum P.I., Blue Bloods, and Bull. CBS hasn’t revealed the fate of SEAL Team, NCIS: Los Angeles, All Rise, or Clarice.
Shemar Moore leads the cast as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, Alex Russell plays Jim Street, Jay Harrington is David “Deacon” Kay, and Lina Esco plays Christina “Chris” Alonso. Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant, tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson strives to bridge the divide between his two worlds and acclimate to his new duties as the legal guardian of a teenager.
Jason Bull takes on an important case with a very personal connection on CBS’s Bull season five episode 12. Directed by Carl Seaton from a script by Leland Jay Anderson, episode 12 – “Evidence to the Contrary” – will air on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT.
The season five cast is led by Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull. “Evidence to the Contrary” Plot: Bull and the TAC team worry about jury bias when Bull mounts a murder trial defense for a Black Lives Matter activist who is also the son of the wrongly convicted man who inspired Bull to start his trial science company.

Egyptian symbols, the return of a blue peacock, and some interesting new characters are the focus of NBC’s Manifest season three episode three. The episode begins with Vance (Daryl Edwards) back from Cuba and being interrogated by the NSA. He’s calm, cool, and collected, and knows they actually have very little to threaten him with so he doesn’t answer any of their questions about Flight 828 and what he was doing down in Cuba.
Jared (J.R. Ramirez) visits the Stones and tells Ben (Josh Dallas) and Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) about the Major’s daughter showing up and looking for her missing mother. He leaves after telling them he’s going to bring Saanvi up to date about it.
Michaela and Ben argue, with Michaela worried her brother’s taking on too much and not taking care of himself. Ben explains he has to find the rest of the meth heads to make sure his family’s safe. Plus, he has to follow the callings.
At the cabin where Grace and Cal are staying off the grid, Cal (Jack Messina) has another calling and sees the blue peacock he saw once before. He calls Olive (Luna Blaise) and tells her about it while admitting he really misses spending time with her. She agrees.
At about the same time, Ben has a calling and sees artifacts falling during a violent shaking and a young man lying on the floor of the room. Ben then picks up a newspaper article about a chess player named Eagan and wonders what he has to do with the calling.
Over at the precinct, Michaela interrogates Pete (Devin Harjes) and the only thing he’ll tell her is that he believes seeing Angelina (Holly Taylor) again is fate. He cuts the interrogation short, demanding to be put back in his cell. As Michaela’s walking the hall, she both feels and hears a heartbeat; it’s a calling about her best friend Evie who died.
Meanwhile, Ben goes to the park and finds Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) playing chess. They talk and Ben’s surprised Eagan knows about the calling Ben had and has been having them too. Ben believes he needs Eagan’s help to save the young man.
They discuss what they saw in the calling and Ben recognizes a funeral urn and a number on it. Eagan thinks the artifacts are in a museum.
Michaela visits Evie’s parents and discovers her father lying on the floor, dead.
Jared shows up at the clinic to inform Dr. Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) about the Major’s daughter looking for her missing mother. Saanvi’s rattled by this but keeps herself together so Jared won’t notice. When Jared leaves, Saanvi texts Vance to meet her.
Michaela calls Ben to tell him about her calling and Jared and Zeke (Matt Long) show up at Evie’s house to help. Michaela still hears a heartbeat and finds some DVDs of her and Evie playing when they were just kids. Zeke notices another DVD marked “For Michaela.”
They play the DVD and discover it’s a video of Evie’s father saying he has made arrangements for his wife, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, to live in an assisted living facility. He reveals he’s leaving Michaela his house for all the joy she brought to their lives. Michaela is deeply moved.
A short while later Michaela and Zeke try to get Evie’s mom ready to go to her new home, but she becomes upset and confused and starts to panic. Zeke’s able to get through to her and calm her down. While this is going on, Michaela has a calling of Pete saying, “She was brave,” and realizes he’s supposed to talk to Angelina. Michaela rings up Angelina.
Back at the cabin, Grace (Athena Karkanis) talks to her brother, Tarik (Warner Miller), and he’s still upset about having to take care of their sickly father in his last few years alone. He’s still resentful about it.

Olive and Angelina head over to the campus to look at Egyptian drawings, hoping to find a clue about the blue peacock. While looking at some of the artifacts they spot a peacock feather, and Olive thinks the peacock is a sign of judgment.
Ben and Eagan reach the museum but it’s locked so they’re forced to sneak in through an air vent. They head to what they believe is the right room, but Ben quickly realizes the number he saw in the calling – 601 – was upside down on the urn so it’s really 109. They turn toward that room just as the rumbling and shaking begins.
Ben and Eagan enter room 109 and immediately smell gas. They work their way over and find the young man almost unconscious. Ben asks his name and he says it’s Caleb (Mason Bleu). Ben carries Caleb out of the room while Eagan runs off saying he’s going to try to turn the gas off in the basement.
Ben carries Caleb out of the museum and is met by Eagan who, when he hears sirens, says that’s his cue to leave and runs off.
At the cabin, Grace talks to her brother again and tells him the reason she never reached out before was because Cal had leukemia. Her brother asks how he’s doing now and she smiles as she says Cal’s in remission.
Angelina shows up at the precinct and Michaela lets her talk to Pete. She thinks she’s supposed to save him. Pete reveals he knows he’s supposed to be with her.
Jared speaks to the Major’s daughter and lets her know her mom did some awful things, including torture and abduction. She pleads with Jared that she still wants to find her.
The interrogation by the NSA continues and Vance calls them out, declaring he’s had enough of their questions and reminding them they don’t have any reason to hold him. He’s about to leave when the director of the Pentagon, who has been watching through a one-way mirror, decides to talk to him.
The NSA wants to reinstate Vance but he claims they need him more than he needs them. He refuses their offer until Powell (Tim Moriarty) tells him he needs to see something regarding Flight 828.
Ben takes Caleb home and Caleb apologizes to his mother for running away. She thanks Ben and takes Caleb inside. Once inside she yells it’s okay and one of the meth heads – Kory – appears.
Michaela and Zeke continue to attempt to get Evie’s mother ready to go when Michaela has another calling of the heartbeat. She realizes she and Zeke are supposed to take care of Evie’s mom and live in the house together. She tells Zeke what she thinks and he agrees to do whatever she needs him to.
Ben meets up with Olive at the campus and tells her about Eagan and the fact that he seems better about figuring out the callings. That said, Ben doesn’t trust him.
And speaking of Eagan, he visits a pawn shop to sell some of the artifacts using Ben’s ID which he lifted off of him. As he leaves, he tosses what he thinks is worthless art in the trash can. The paper is actually a piece of the Egyptian peacock puzzle.
Cal holds up a peacock feather at the cabin and takes a photo of it to send to Olive.
In a disturbing, creepy scene, an unseen person has photos of Ben and Michaela and is rubbing out their eyes.
The final scene of episode three is of Vance being let into a large secure area. We’re not shown what it is that Vance sees.

Courteney Cox is returning to TV as one of the stars of the horror comedy series, Shining Vale. Starz just announced they’ve given the series from Jeff Astrof (Trial & Error) and Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe) an eight episode season one order.
Shining Vale also stars Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Greg Kinnear (As Good As It Gets, Talk Soup), Oscar winner Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite), Merrin Dungey (Big Little Lies), Gus Birney (Dickinson), and Dylan Gage (PEN15).
Other Shoe Productions’ Jeff Astrof, Merman’s Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford, and Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor executive produce. Series star Courteney Cox is a producer on the Warner Bros. Television and Lionsgate Television in association with Other Shoe Productions, Merman and Kapital Entertainment production.
The pilot episode was directed by Dearbhla Walsh (The Handmaid’s Tale) from a script by Jeff Astrof (story by Astrof and Sharon Horgan).

Shining Vale is a horror comedy about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. But no one seems to notice except for Pat, who’s convinced she’s either depressed or possessed – turns out, the symptoms are exactly the same.
Patricia “Pat” Phelps (Cox) is a former “wild child” who rose to fame by writing a raunchy, drug-and-alcohol-soaked women’s empowerment novel (a.k.a. lady porn). Fast forward 17 years later, Pat is clean and sober but totally unfulfilled. She still hasn’t written her second novel, she can’t remember the last time she had sex with her husband (Kinnear), and her teenage kids are at that stage where they want you dead. She was a faithful wife until her one slip-up: she had a torrid affair with the hot, young handyman who came over to fix the sink while Terry was at work.
In a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, she and Terry cash in all their savings and move the family move from the “crazy” of the city to a large, old house in the suburbs that has a storied past of its own. Everyone has their demons, but for Pat Phelps, they may be real.
Cox plays the lead role of Patricia “Pat” Phelps, with Kinnear playing her ever-optimistic husband, Terry Phelps, whose patience and self-control will be tested like never before. Sorvino plays Rosemary, who is either Pat’s alter ego, a split personality, her id, her muse, or a demon trying to possess her. Dungey plays Kam, Pat’s oldest friend and book editor. Gus Birney and Dylan Gage also star as Pat and Terry’s teenage kids, Gaynor and Jake.
ABC’s Station 19 season four episode 12 deals with the timely issue of another unarmed Black man killed by law enforcement. Episode 12, “Get Up, Stand Up,” will air on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT.
The season four cast includes Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andy Herrera, Jason George as Ben Warren, Boris Kodjoe as Captain Robert Sullivan, and Grey Damon as Jack Gibson. FX’s Mr Inbetween will wrap up its run with the series’ upcoming third season. FX announced details of the final season and confirmed season three will premiere on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT. Episodes one and two will premiere back-to-back. New episodes arrive on subsequent Tuesdays.
The third and final season will consist of nine half-hour episodes starring writer and executive producer Scott Ryan as Ray Shoesmith. Ryan created the series and Nash Edgerton directs. Ryan, Edgerton, and Michele Bennett executive produce.
The cast of season three includes Kenny Graham, Chika Yasumura, Justin Rosniak, Matt Nable, and Damon Herriman. Jeremy Sims and Emily Barclay also star in the final season.

Juggling parental responsibilities, complicated relationships, a viciously smart pre-teen daughter and an aging parent while earning a living would be difficult for anyone, but it’s particularly tricky when you’re a criminal for hire.
Ray Shoesmith (Ryan) ‘takes care of people’ — collecting debts, relieving them of drugs and guns, and often taking care of them on a more permanent basis. Ray demands respect and does not tolerate others disregarding his very clear code of ethics. As Ray’s increasingly volatile work collides with his imploding personal life, he finds himself struggling to stay atop the complex web he has woven.
In season three of Mr Inbetween, Ray’s world has contracted. Family life looks a little different as he quietly mourns the loss of Bruce, while figuring out how to care for his aging father, Bill (Graham). As Brittany ( Yasumura) grows into a young woman, she draws further away from Ray and comes closer to discovering the truth about who he really is. Things seem good with Gary (Rosniak) and Dave (Nable), however since severing ties with former boss and confidant Freddy (Herriman), Ray is working freelance and feeling a sense of isolation. With business booming, a new connection with criminal kingpin Rafael (Sims) intensifies Ray’s struggle and when sparks fly with new colleague Zoe (Barclay), an unexpected tragedy makes Ray question both his career trajectory and his ethics.

Sophie continues to deal with her trauma on ABC’s A Million Little Things season three episode 11. “redefine” will air on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT.

“redefine” Plot: Despite her trauma, Sophie goes through with her music school audition but quickly realizes she is struggling to move forward. Meanwhile, Rome and Regina grow closer to Tyrell. Katherine and Eddie are at a crossroads, and Gary reconnects with his father.
