S.W.A.T. Season 3 Episode 3 Photos: “Funny Money” Preview

CBS’s primetime cop drama, S.W.A.T., season three episode three will find the team upset with Lt. Lynch over an upcoming assignment. Episode three, “Funny Money,” was directed by Alrick Riley from a script by Alison Cross and will air on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT.

“Funny Money” guest stars include Laura James, Shane Kaufman, Adam Chambers, Mike Seal, Raymond Forchion, and Daniel Steven Gonzalez.

The cast of season three features Shemar Moore as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, Stephanie Sigman as Jessica Cortez, Alex Russell as Jim Street, and Jay Harrington as David “Deacon” Kay. Lina Esco stars as Christina “Chris” Alonso, Kenny Johnson is Dominique Luca, David Lim is Victor Tan, Amy Farrington is Lieutenant Piper Lynch, and Patrick St. Esprit plays Commander Robert Hicks.

The “Funny Money” Plot – The SWAT team bumps heads with Lt. Lynch when she signs them up for an off-book undercover operation to take down a local gang printing counterfeit money, without giving them enough time to prepare for the mission. Also, tensions rise at home for Hondo as his parents’ strained relationship becomes worse.

S.W.A.T. Description, Courtesy of CBS:

Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant, tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, Daniel ”Hondo” Harrelson strives to bridge the divide between his two worlds and acclimate to his new duties as the legal guardian of a teenager.

Hondo’s elite unit includes David “Deacon” Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer and dedicated family man who always puts the team first; Christina “Chris” Alonso, a skilled officer and the team’s canine trainer; Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high risk situations; Victor Tan, who started in the LAPD Hollywood Division and uses his confidential informants in the community to help the team; and Jim Street, the team’s cocky newest member who is re-instated to S.W.A.T. after being fired for compromising the unit.

Responsible for the management of all Metro Division S.W.A.T. units is Commander Robert Hicks, a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau. Overseeing Hondo’s team is Hicks’ direct report, Jessica Cortez, the ambitious captain of L.A. Metro weighing an offer to leave S.W.A.T and work for the FBI. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men and women bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives.

This Is Us Season 4 Episode 4: Photos and Plot Details from “Flip a Coin”

Season four episode three of This Is Us found Kevin meeting Cassidy while helping his uncle fight a stiff fine and prison sentence for tossing a chair (that almost hit Cassidy) into a therapy session. Meanwhile, Toby came clean about his massive weight loss (he’s doing CrossFit) after Kate took a good look at his noticeably slimmer figure. Kate began her own journey to a healthier lifestyle after discovering her grumpy next-door neighbor (Timothy Omundson) has a good reason to be in a foul mood: he’s relearning basic skills after suffering a stroke.

It turns out Randall is a pretty decent politician. Randall’s dedicated to his constituents and in episode three he chose the relatively inexperienced Jae-won over a woman who tried to mold him into a politician who picks networking with his fellow councilmen over listening to the concerns of the people.

Up next, season four episode four airing on October 15, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT.

This Is Us‘ huge ensemble cast includes Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson, Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson, Sterling K. Brown as Randall, Chrissy Metz as Kate, and Justin Hartley as Kevin. Susan Kelechi Watson is Beth Pearson, Chris Sullivan is Toby Damon, and Jon Huertas is Miguel Rivas. Griffin Dunne returns as Jack’s brother, Nicky.

The “Flip a Coin” Plot – Kevin reflects on his past. Rebecca visits Randall at college. Beth’s mom comes to visit. Kate and Toby share new experiences with Baby Jack.

Series Description, Courtesy of NBC:

“Everyone has a family. And every family has a story. This Is Us chronicles the Pearson family across the decades: from Jack (Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Moore) as young parents in the 1980s to their 37-year-old kids Kevin (Hartley), Kate (Metz) and Randall (Brown) searching for love and fulfillment in the present day. This grounded, life-affirming dramedy reveals how the tiniest events in our lives impact who we become, and how the connections we share with each other can transcend time, distance and even death.

From the writer and directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love. comes a smart, modern show that will welcome you into a family you feel you’ve known for years.”

Not taking ‘no’ for an answer, Dr. Goodwin must disrupt the status quo and prove he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital — the only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers and the President of the United States under one roof — and return it to the glory that put it on the map.”

Supernatural Season 15 Episode 1 Recap: “Back and to the Future”

Supernatural Season 15 Episode 1
Jared Padalecki as Sam in ‘Supernatural’ season 15 episode 1 (Photo: Shane Harvey © 2019 The CW Network)

Impossible as it might be to stomach, we just had our final season premiere for The CW’s Supernatural as season 15 episode one – “Back and to the Future” – delivered just the kind of heart-pumping thriller fans needed to kick off this farewell tour.

We start off exactly where we last saw our heroes, as they’re overwhelmed by the horde of ghost zombies (yeah, that’s what they are) and have to take sanctuary nearby, all the while only protected by a barely holding door.

When it seems like the end might be here for the boys, “Jack” (Alexander Calvert) springs up. You might remember him having his sockets burned out by God in the previous season finale, but this isn’t Jack we see here – it’s a demon called Belphagor.

This guy should remind one of Crowley’s snarky quality to make any bad situation look like a joke, as Belphagor sarcastically explains he’s taken possession of Jack’s body due to it being the nearest vessel he could find now that all of Hell’s doors have been opened. Belphagor comes up with some ancient magical hocus pocus to rid all of the zombies outside of their ghost possession, leaving the main characters free for the time being.

Unfortunately, there’s a whole town of people within the radius that Belphagor plans to trap the ghosts in, which then leads to Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) going old school and posing as the FBI. While alone with Belphagor, Dean comes to find out the former is a fanboy of sorts, as he recalls being on watch while Dean “created art” when he had been torturing souls under Alastair’s tutelage.

Meanwhile, Sam and Castiel are able to get the town to evacuate a little distance away for Belphagor to work his magic, but are met with foes in the form of John Wayne Gacy and the Woman in White – the same ghosts they had sent to Hell years ago. In a scene that defies logic, Castiel for some reason has problems fighting against these ghosts despite being an angel, as Sam and Castiel nearly perish before Belphagor completes the spell.

A few developments also took place during these happenings, as we found out Sam’s bullet wound from shooting God doesn’t seem to be a good thing. When Castiel tries to heal it, he’s met with a vision of a seemingly evil Sam smiling sinister, before remarking that the power in that wound was unlike anything he’s ever felt. Dean filled in Belphagor over Jack’s identity, although he still doesn’t seem as sad about it as you’d expect it, despite calling Jack “our kid” to Belphagor.

There’s another indication of drama to follow between Dean and Castiel, as we see Dean inquire over Castiel’s well-being, only to brush aside Cas’ response like he doesn’t care. Castiel remains the sole person who has any sorrow over Jack’s death, as the writers continue forgetting that Sam and Dean used to love the boy themselves once.

The ending of the episode is a callback to the first season premiere, as Sam assures Dean they will win this fight against the seemingly 2 billion souls released because God has bailed and, once they’re done with this, they’ll be truly free with no God to mess up their lives. Sam slams the Impala’s trunk shut with the immortal words, “We got work to do.”

All in all, this premiere was loaded with action, along with subtle hints of bigger problems to follow. Belphagor is so far a superb addition, one whose snark reminds us of Crowley (could it be him in disguise?) and is a worthy character for Alexander Calvert to portray and show us how awesome he can be playing a casual and easygoing demon compared to the nice boy that Jack was.

FBI Season 2 Episode 4 Preview: Photos from “An Imperfect Science”

CBS has released new photos and plot details for the upcoming fourth episode of FBI season two. Episode four, “An Imperfect Science,” was directed by Jean De Segonzac from a script by Erica Shelton Kodish. “An Imperfect Science” will air on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT.

Season two episode four’s guest cast includes Jerusha Cavazos, Jequan Jackson, Jamar Greene, Tyrone Marshall Brown, and Victora Bermudez. Shay Vawn, Darwin Harris, Carrington Vilmont, Anthony Goes, Tommy Nelson, Rebecca Watson, Ejyp Johnson, Garrett Richmond, Einar Gunn, and Salar Ghajar also guest star in episode four.

The season two cast includes Missy Peregrym as Special Agent Maggie Bell, Zeeko Zaki as Special Agent Omar Adom ‘OA’ Zidan, Ebonée Noel as Kristen Chazal, and Jeremy Sisto as Jubal Valentine.

The “An Imperfect Science” Plot – After a shooting at a nightclub, it appears that the FBI may have ignored previous threats from a local white supremacist group. Also, Kristen wrestles with her commitment to the Bureau and her responsibility to her community.

The FBI Plot, Courtesy of CBS:

FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom ‘OA’ Zidan, a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI.

Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge, Isobel Castille, who operates under intense pressure and has undeniable command authority. The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. Kristen Chazal is the team’s most valued resource, a brilliant analyst recruited straight out of university who can piece together the big picture faster than anyone. These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime and counterintelligence.”

Shadowhunters and Arrow star Katherine McNamara has signed on to play Julie Lawry in CBS All Access’ event series, The Stand. The limited series is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel and is being adapted by executive producers Josh Boone and Ben Cavell, with Boone also set to direct.

Stephen King is adding a special final chapter to his apocalyptic story for the TV adaptation.

CBS also announced Hamish Linklater (Legion, The Newsroom) and Eion Bailey (Band of Brothers, ER) have signed on to The Stand. Previously announced cast members include James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith, Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood, Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, Henry Zaga as Nick Andros, Brad William Henke as Tom Cullen, Alexander Skarsgård as Randall Flagg, and Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail.

Katherine McNamara’s Julie Lawry is described as “a small-town girl with a wild side, she is one of Lloyd’s conquests in Las Vegas.” Hamish Linklater is playing Dr. Ellis, “a military colonel and infectious disease specialist who dreams of being the hero who stops the superflu.”

Eion Bailey will play Teddy Weizak, “a superflu survivor and member of the body crew, alongside Harold, in Boulder, Colorado.”

The CBS Television Studios production is executive produced by Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller, and Richard P. Rubinstein. Knate Lee, Jill Killington, and Owen King are on board as producers.

The Plot:

The Stand is Stephen King’s apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.”
