The Sinner‘s Jessica Biel executive produces Freeform’s new series Cruel Summer created by executive producer Bert V. Royal. Cruel Summer will premiere with back-to-back episodes on April 20, 2021 beginning at 9pm ET/PT, with the remainder of season one airing weekly on Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT.
Freeform’s just released photos from the first episode along with plot details and cast/character information. Season one will star Olivia Holt (Cloak & Dagger) as Kate Wallis, Chiara Aurelia (Tell Me Your Secrets) as Jeanette Turner, Michael Landes (You Are Wanted) as Greg Turner, and Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf) as Jamie Henson. Season four of Netflix, Universal, and DreamWorks Animation’s animated Fast & Furious series will premiere on April 16, 2021. The trailer for the upcoming eight episode season of Fast & Furious: Spy Racers finds the team heading to Mexico City and features action sequences that are just as wild as the live-action films.
Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Posey lends his voice to Tony Toretto, Charlet Chung voices Echo, Luke Youngblood is Frostee Benson, Jorge Diaz voices Cisco Renaldo, Camille Ramsey is Layla Gray, and Renée Elise Goldsberry is Ms. Nowhere. The world premiere screening of Mick Fleetwood & Friends Celebrate the Music of Peter Green and the Early Years of Fleetwood Mac is going to be available beginning next month. The star-studded concert took place at the iconic London Palladium on February 25, 2020, weeks before COVID-19 shut things down.
The iconic concert featured musical greats Neil Finn, Noel Gallagher, Billy Gibbons, David Gilmour, Kirk Hammett, John Mayall, Christine McVie, Jeremy Spencer, Zak Starkey, Pete Townshend, Steven Tyler, and Bill Wyman. Plus, legendary producer Glyn Johns joined the music stars as the executive sound producer. The house band featured Mick Fleetwood himself along with Dave Bronze, Jonny Lang, Andy Fairweather Low, Ricky Peterson, and Rick Vito.
The concert was originally due to be screened in cinemas worldwide, however because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the premiere went digital. nugs.net will be the streaming video platform to host the global premiere online in HD and 4K video with enhanced Dolby Atmos sound. The news about the re-release of The Weeknd’s mixtape comes weeks after the artist was shockingly snubbed by the Grammys despite having the number one selling digital song, “Blinding Lights,” which also currently holds the record for most weeks spent in the top five and top 10 of Billboard Hot 100. The Weeknd recently released a statement, “I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys.”

Brittany Murphy’s life and career will be explored in HBO Max’s just-ordered two-part documentary series. The untitled Brittany Murphy docuseries is the first collaboration between Blumhouse Television and HBO Max.
“Our Brittany Murphy documentary cuts through the tabloid noise with an elevated, nuanced depiction of a sensational story. Crafting a grounded account of Brittany Murphy’s life struggles and sudden passing comes with great responsibility and we’ve partnered with a masterful creative team to produce a thoughtful examination of a tragedy that has long been cause for speculation,” said Jennifer O’Connell, executive vice president, Non-Fiction and Live-Action Family Programming, HBO Max.
The Blumhouse Television and Pyramid Productions docuseries will be directed by Emmy nominee Cynthia Hill (Private Violence). Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Mary Lisio for Blumhouse, and James Buddy Day are executive producing.
“Brittany Murphy was a rising star whose filmography includes movies that defined a generation. We thought her story warrants a deeper exploration, and examination into the environment that allowed her to become a victim of success,” stated Mary Lisio, executive vice president, Alternative and Non-Scripted Programming, Blumhouse Television. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with HBO Max, and to collaborate with a director like Cynthia Hill who takes a nuanced approach to complex stories about women and contemporary issues.”
Brittany Murphy burst onto the scene with her breakout role in 1995’s Clueless. Murphy’s film roles include Don’t Say a Word, Drop Dead Gorgeous, 8 Mile, and Sin City. Her death at the age of 32 was ruled accidental, with the primary cause listed as pneumonia.
“I agreed to do this film because I think it’s a shame that Brittany’s promising life and career has been eclipsed by the circumstances of her death,” stated director Cynthia Hill. “I think it’s important to celebrate Brittany’s talent as we struggle to explain the tragic circumstances of her and Simon’s deaths.”
HBO Max released the following description of the two-part docuseries:
“The documentary presents an in-depth, intimate character portrait exploring the life and career and mysterious circumstances surrounding the tragic death of 90’s actress and rising star, Brittany Murphy. With The Falcon and the Winter Soldier about to debut on March 19, 2021 and following a successful WandaVision run, Marvel Studios is hyping their next big television project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Loki. Marvel just dropped a new poster for the series which brings back Tom Hiddleston (for the seventh time) as the trickster god.
Joining Tom Hiddleston are Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. The live-action comic book-inspired series was directed by Kate Herron. Michael Waldron is Loki‘s head writer.
Marvel Studios has set a June 11, 2021 premiere date on Disney+.
Tom Hiddleston kicked off his Loki run in 2011’s Thor starring Chris Hemsworth. That was followed by 2012’s The Avengers, 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
The Plot:
Marvel Studios’ Loki features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a newDisney+series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Jughead believes he’s being stalked by aliens and Cheryl’s plot to force hookups among her friends turns out to be more PG than R-rated on The CW’s Riverdale season five episode eight. Archie and Betty casually hook up, but he returns to Veronica’s arms after realizing she’s still the one he’s attracted to after all these years. Plus, Cheryl and Toni won’t be getting back together and Fangs and Kevin aren’t ready for marriage even though Toni’s their surrogate baby mama.

Jughead (Sprouse) turns his attention to a student who he thinks might need his help. Betty (Reinhart) seeks guidance from Cheryl (Petsch) after being faced with a difficult decision to make.
Finally, Kevin (Cott) is forced to face a dark moment from his past.

The fourth season of Riverdale began with a funeral and tribute to Archie’s late father, the beloved Fred Andrews (Luke Perry). Throughout the season, Archie (KJ Apa) tried to live up to his father’s memory by mentoring youths at his Community Center with the help of his pals Reggie and Munroe Moore. But the shadow of that tragedy loomed over Archie—and only darkened when Fred’s brother Frank arrived, bringing unforeseen complications with him, much to the chagrin of Archie’s mother (Molly Ringwald).
Meanwhile, after Betty saved her mom and sister from the Farm cult, she joined her brother Charles’s Junior F.B.I. Training Program. Veronica found herself locked in a season-long battle with her father Hiram and half-sister Hermosa over her burgeoning maple rum business. And, at the urging on FP, Jughead enrolled in a new school, Stonewall Prep, only to be caught up in a mystery that involved his grandfather, the secret author of a series of teen detective novels called “The Baxter Brothers.” His classmates turned out to be killers—and it was up to Betty and Jughead (pretending to be dead) to solve the murder of…Jughead Jones!
At Thistlehouse, Cheryl was trapped in a gothic nightmare, fighting her demons, literal and metaphoric, with the loving support of her girlfriend Toni. She finally put her brother Jason to rest while maintaining her control over the Vixens as resident HBIC against Principal Honey (Kerr Smith). Kevin got dragged into an illicit tickle scheme, but still found time to put on a Variety Show with hit songs from Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
And throughout the season, disturbing unmarked videotapes kept appearing on our characters’ doorsteps, ensuring that there would be one more mystery to solve.
Season five of Riverdale will begin with our characters’ final days as students at Riverdale High. From an epic Senior Prom to a bittersweet Graduation, there are a lot of emotional moments and goodbyes yet to come — with some couples breaking up, as everyone goes their separate ways to college — or elsewhere. Then, we will redock with our gang as young adults, all returning to Riverdale to escape their troubled pasts. And life — and romance — will only be more complicated now that they’re in their twenties…
Five-time Emmy Award nominee Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) has committed to starring in the psychological thriller Beacon 23, based on the bestselling book by Hugh Howey. Headey will also serve as an executive producer on the Spectrum Originals and AMC Networks series.
Zak Penn (Ready Player One, The Avengers) created the series and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Ira Steven Behr (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Tina Thor, Elisa Ellis, and Katie O’Connell Marsh (Narcos) for Boat Rocker Studios also executive produce.
“Lena Headey was a wonderful, versatile actress before she gave one of the defining performances in television history. So, as they say, ‘no pressure.’ I’m thankful to all the people making this show possible, they just keep delivering beyond my expectations,” said Penn.
According to the official casting announcement, Headey will star as Aster, “a woman who mysteriously finds her way to a lonely beacon keeper on his lighthouse in the darkest recesses of space.”
“We had exactly one person in mind when thinking about who could play Aster – who could bring the strength, the vulnerability and the brilliance to Zak’s complex character? No one but Lena Headey,” stated Katherine Pope, Head of Spectrum Originals. “We couldn’t be more excited to go on this thrill ride with Lena and Zak leading the way.”

The series will premiere on Spectrum followed nine months later by a release on AMC Networks platforms.

This intimate, suspenseful thriller follows two people whose fates become entangled after they find themselves trapped together at the end of the known universe. “This Is All I Need” Plot: Max journeys to Connecticut to bring Luna back to New York, but second-guesses his instincts when he sees her with her grandparents. Bloom takes action to ensure her staff feel safe at work while Reynolds takes a backseat in the cardiac unit. Sharpe struggles to lean on Dr. Cassian Shin (Kim) while dealing with a family emergency.
When Dr. Max Goodwin took over New Amsterdam, he asked a simple, revolutionary question: “How can I help?” In season three, Max and his team face the daunting task of sustaining that optimism while dealing with a pandemic that exposed the gaping inequities in our health care. Max is no longer content to fix a broken system. He’s determined to tear it down and build something better.
